  1. I also missed the fact that it was funded by the kids themselves. Ridiculous.

I was expecting from the previews, and also honestly throughout the series, that it was supposed to be some sort of Hunger Games type deal where there was some random rich old guy who was funding it and taking pleasure in watching kids torture themselves for some money, especially with all the talk of the 'judges'. How is it fair that the judges are classmates with agendas?

  2. Finished today. I thought it was fine - entertaining enough, happy where it all ended up.

There were a few questions I had throughout, like how does a small town that had a tradition of this game for however long not have a single cop on the police force young enough to know exactly what is going on? It's not like the game just popped up 3 years ago (maybe it did but it's also terribly convoluted for it to only be 3 years old)

Also, spoiler/question for around ep 4/5 or so:

    Spoiler

Bishop was a judge... but how did Heather find out about that? It was revealed to us and then shortly thereafter she knows. Did I miss a part where she was told?

Also really, two judges just happen to be Heather's best friends? Convenient.

and spoiler for the last two episodes

    Spoiler

    wooooooooof that CGI tiger

It seems unlikely the boat went all the way from Chicago to Toronto. I think Oona said they were leaving from Thunderbay in the prior episode.  We didn't see a skyline, but agreed, that doesn't look like Toronto.

As someone from northern Ontario, they absolutely did not leave from Thunder Bay. Thunder Bay is on the northwestern shore of Lake Superior. They would have to boat through the entire length of Lake Michigan, into Lake Huron, cut through where Manitoulin Island is from the province (which is like a four hour drive from Toronto), then into Lake Superior and travel the entire length of Superior just to get to Thunder Bay. To then hop on a 2 hour flight back to Toronto.

As a user above stated, they must have hopped off at Sault or they left closer to Toronto... either way, as someone from the north who is excited to hear town names because we're often forgot, it's annoying for them to screw up the geography like that (unless there was a reason to lie).

I wonder how many cases there are of couples who are both in Canada but whose child is in Gilead. Is it possible that June and Luke are the first?

We know of at least one - the father of that one little girl they focused on when the plane of kids got out (though who knows where her mother is).

This episode bored me like no other. We did need Moira and her girlfriend, and Moira and June to have the same conversation over and over and over again for 45 minutes.

Also as someone who watched it on TV, this episode was short because the "previously on" section went until 9:05, it was insane how many clips they showed before the actual episode.

Thea is the winner this season.

I just don't understand. She undercooked her steak in a steak challenge. I don't even eat red meat, never cooked it, and I could tell by looking at it that it was still raw on the inside. She was shocked still after looking at it cut that it was leaning raw.

Tom and Chelsea are making me tired of their "relationship"  They've never come across as even liking each other very much, let alone being in love.

What was so strange was that she seemed to be more upset he 'wasn't taking it seriously' because he was simply flirting and dancing(allegedly that was dancing), which is somehow worse than actually falling in love and making out with another person like she is?

I missed the convo Kendall had on his date so hearing the video where he essentially said he had no compassion(passion?) for Erica anymore? Good god. Incredibly cruel.

  7. Kendall's message was very telling - it was entirely about the things ERICA needed to learn, how SHE needed to grow, and how SHE should adapt in their relationship and be the person that he wants. If the two of them do end up leaving together, I really hope watching this all back knocks some sense into her. It's such an abusive relationship.

Again, the communication skills between Tom and Chelsea are shocking. She wants him to stop being flirty. His message is 'I've embraced my flirty side like you suggested." Again, she's a giant hypocrite calling him out on partying while she is firmly planted in another man's lap. I understand not being comfortable with your partner flirting. It's either something you need to get over and trust in them that it means nothing, or they respect you enough to dial it down.

  8. Kendall thought "we came here with no rules" meant, I can sleep with everyone and it not matter, huh? And then it'll be her fault for not 'setting' rules? Cool. Good luck with whoever ends up with him

I feel like Chelsea and Tom are playing chicken with one another. They keep seeing each other get closer and closer to other people, so they retaliate by getting closer with their own person. I also don't think they like each other all that much (they don't kiss? ever???). Tom is a flirt and likes attention, but it is shocking the Chelsea doesn't see her dancing her ass into someone's dick and having someone's arms wrapped around her in the same vein as Tom.. placing a flower behind whatsherface's ear (which was the last bonfire thing she was so upset about).

Kristen and Julian make me sad. I think they may be the only ones who do make it out of here and I don't think that would be a bad thing for either of them. Yeah, he cheated but if he does deal with why and then also her dealing with her grief let's her see clearly... I think they can make it out. They seem genuine.

Are you seriously comparing a rapist to a guy who made a stupid verbal mistake?

No, I said it's the same reasoning. "oh well he apologized. Oh well it was a long time ago. Does he deserve to lose his whole career because of a silly mistake?"

Yes, he does. He made a calculated decision to go on television and defend a racist action. Not a mistake.

If every tv performer who ever said something insensitive was banished from the airwaves, tvland would be a helluva lonely place.

Nah, good riddance in my opinion. This is the same reasoning as to why we still have rapists with huge careers. Because if we kick out everyone who committed a crime, or perpetuated racist rhetoric, well we would have to find another show to watch 2 hours a week for a few months out of a year? omg what will we do.

There are millions of talented people who don't get a break because we continuously give breaks to racist, rapist, murderous, horrible people. Get them off  my screen and I will gladly take someone who can read the room in 2021 and doesn't support racism.

Harrison has 20 years of work under his belt. He will do just fine to not be on TV any more. His millions weren't stolen from him. He lost a job. Like many of us have, for doing a hell of a lot less.

Chelsea gets upset at the bonfire about seeing a kiss on the cheek with her boyfriend.  But she was getting a kiss on the cheek too.  In fact she was bent over grinding into that one guy's crotch at their party.

I was coming here to say that - she's such a huge hypocrite. One thing to not like your boyfriend flirting. But you had your ass all over another man's dick(numerous times, as I believe that is her go-to dance move it seems), and that's not crossing your invisible flirting line? Because YOU don't mean it as flirting, despite your boyfriend thinking the same thing on his end? I see.

I actually like the host. I don't think it's heartless to ask what they saw, as he's more or less asking them for exposition. I think he's doing his best to support them when their partners are terrible.

Kendall is probably the only catch for the singles because he's the only one who they see as open to hooking up.

I also saw just yesterday that Reality Steve says they had initially cast Katie as next Bachelorette, but now with how all of Matt's post-show stuff is going, ABC have switched gears and cast someone else. What would Lindsay's stuff have to do with the next season of Bachelorette that would make them recast? The only thing I can think of is that Katie is white, and ABC want to reinforce they aren't racist so they're casting another POC for the lead..?

When it was first announced she was the pick, people were already confused as to why they chose someone who didn't even crack the top 10.

When you consider 7/10 final women are women of colour and they are skipped over entirely to chose a white top 11 finisher...  I like Katie and all but she is not any more interesting than Bri, Michelle, Serena, etc. They chose her because her and Rachel have the highest social media following and Rachel isn't exactly a good pick right now.

  13. I don't understand how half a chicken breast that was overcooked with some sauce on the side managed to get a pass from being in the bottom three, but Dora gets the boot just because she didn't make bread?

I suddenly remember why Masterchef Canada/US is one of my least fav cooking shows (Masterchef Australia however rules)

The phrase "cancel culture" sounds suspiciously like people thinking racists shouldn't be held accountable.

Yup, because no one is ever cancelled.

Ever try to find a movie or a show that doesn't involve someone who sexually assaulted someone? Or one that didn't star a misogynist, racist, homophobic, uber conservative? The most popular youtubers are people who have released one, two, ten 'apology' videos and cried about being cancelled. Chris is a straight white man. He isn't cancelled. He isn't going to show up for one episode, then in a few months time when Bachelorette comes around, all will be forgotten because fans of this show are crying foul for him being held accountable for his own words.

Does anyone here listen to any of the bach / ette cast podcasts?  I have tried to do Trista's and Nick Viall's, but they are so long--it gets kind of boring.  I liked Trista's some, and listened to the one with Ryan, but even that one kind of droned on way past the time it needed to.  And then Nick's had all sorts of interruptions off the topic that the speaker was talking about.  Maybe I just don't have the patience.  lol

I've listened to Here to Make Friends for awhile but I'm not eager to listen much anymore because I tend to like when people don't take the show so seriously. Brett Vergara who I've always enjoyed when he was on their podcast (and he was an old Buzzfeed-er) has a new podcast but haven't listened yet called Baby Got Bach. I prefer the ones without people directly associated with the show.

since this series was dumped all at once, coming to a site like this let everyone know instantly they were on the island for 23 days (at most).

Do you mean at least? Given we still don't know when/how they were removed from the island so it's at any point after 23 days (I think at one point they mentioned the experiment being 12 weeks though given the girls nearly starved after 3 weeks, that seems like a stretch that they'd make it that far).

  17. I always find it funny when Peter is dragged for (and still dragged for), presumably, playing the game and not caring about Rachel but only wanting the publicity and the fame when her F1 was selling merch the second the finale aired, moved to LA immediately, and her full time job seems to be Bachelor commentary while Peter went back to Wisconsin or wherever he was from, back to his job as personal trainer, and went on his way. He is one very few contestants who didn't move to LA or NYC to become an influencer or full time Bachelor podcaster.

  18. It could be argued that even if the alliance wasn't a thing, it would have still resulted in this end - Hung/Chee and the boyfriends may have read the clue earlier if they weren't caught up in the beards 'everyone take an option' plan. Then it would have been down to the beards and footballers and assuming the footballers knew ~in the order of the race~ and the beards knew the flags - the beards would have most likely finished first even if the two other teams screamed READ YOUR CLUE as they left.

I agree alliances on this show suck. But it is a part of it, more or less. What I dislike is someone throwing their wealth in the face of millions who would kill to get this experience.
