  1. This has quietly become one of my favorite TV shows. I like everyone. I even liked Ormewood. The cast is gelling together well.

Faith was too cute with Dr. Far-Hottie and I love that Will is the one who has given him that nickname.

Will was 19 when he met Amanda, and I'm guessing he's supposed to be in his mid to late 30s now, so he's known her for about 20 years give or take. If Amanda is now in her mid to late 50s, she would've been in her 30s then, so I think the actress would look ok to play that age with different hair and some makeup magic, if they do a flashback.

  2. Pete is right. Sam doesn't deserve Jay.

They should get the ghosts a burner phone with only Jay's number in it so Trevor can text him "in case of emergency". Oh wait! Alberta can talk to Alexa! She could ask Alexa for something that could tip Jay off to Sam's lying. 😉

  3. When Will told Angie about giving Nico a place to live, Angie said something about him starting his own group home. So I absolutely believe his interactions with Nico this episode were rooted in his own background and empathizing with Nico and their situation. Will was bullied both in foster homes via child abuse and also in the group home because we learned other kids called him 'trash can'. He would understand the feelings of weakness and the need to subjugate themselves for protection as Nico did. I think Angie's observation was spot on - he's making his own 'group home' but making it one of safety and non judgy. It's kind of sweet, and shows that, even after all he's endured, he is still kind at heart.

I think as far as Amanda's relationship to Faith goes, I'm guessing Amanda is either her mom's best friend and is 'auntie', or Amanda was romantically involved with Faith's mother and they all remained close after the relationship ended.

  4. I love this entire cast. The only other show I can say that about is Abbott Elementary.

Everyone watching Trevor's parents have sex and telling him about it in detail was hilarious. And I had no idea Nancy was gonna pop up, I wasn't paying attention to the credits.

So many good lines again, and Jay is still the hero. What other husband is gonna roll with having 'eight idiot kids who never leave' around forever? Jay, that's who. 🥰

  5. I fell asleep thinking about different ways for new ghosts to visit the house now that we know car ghosts are a thing. I wondered if the show would ever introduce a ghost attached to a person and thought about how that could be. Fun.

I cackled out loud so many times and Isaac would have been proud of the gasp I gasped when Thor was sucked into the machine. I honestly didn't think it was going to work so, good job, show.

Aw, Thor and Flower. And sometimes Pete 🫣😂

  6. I laughed a lot watching these episodes. I literally guffawed when Isaac gave Nigel the hand to the face, then got sad as the scene played out.

So much good stuff to remember but, I like that there's someone else who knows about the ghosts and even though he died, Eric knows what they look like now, except Thor. I loved the continuity of Flower introducing herself to the freshly dead Eric and explaining how she died, heh. And yes, it was Roberta who told them to dump Eric in the lake with Trevor. I laughed so hard!

Trevor and Sass's faces as they watched Bela ask Eric to let Trevor possess him were amazing. The scene when Jay tries to convince Eric to come back and that dude in the background heckling them and then all, 'There's kids here!' Honestly everyone was at the top of their game, I was thoroughly entertained and I'll be watching it again this weekend to catch things I missed. Well done, all around.

  7. So English country is considered warm and cozy? Huh. Definitely not the design decor my mind goes to when thinking about warmth and coziness lol.

I understand that folks love old houses but for folks like me with mobility issues, give me an open floor plan any day. Less narrow doorways to navigate and corners to get bruises. I sometimes wonder how designers, who swear by those slanted walls and nooks, would fare with having to look at these old houses with an eye for someone with a disability. Of course I admire the craftsmanship when I see these places but then I immediately think about where my first bruise would happen. 😅

I don't get Gregory, he flirts in front of Janine, but tries to warn her off of Tariq in a jealous manner.  I'm glad she told him that it was none of his business.  I'm not sure if his last look to the camera was smug or relieved.  I hope Janine gets a love interest that isn't Gregory.

Ooh, someone a little older, but smart and kinda nerdy.....Winston Duke as a widowed father and new transplant who's son joins Janine's class! But he's been a widower for a while and dated so none of that 'I'm still in love with my dead spouse' shit.

    Winston Duke. In glasses.....😍

  9. I loved Ava giving props to Janine's Marilyn costume with that extended "Biiiiiitch!" I'm noticing they seem to be claiming that word for good, between that and the 'Bad Bitch' convo. I love to see it.

I think Janine is very book smart but only having one romantic relationship her entire life has stunted her emotionally. Not irreversibly so but she has no frame of first hand reference on navigating potentially sexual relationships with men besides Tariq. And while we know he wasn't shit as a partner, I'm not sure Janine completely realizes that. I'm also guessing he was the more outgoing one in social situations. So I do think she likes Gregory, but because he's only the 2nd man she's ever seemed to like in that way, I feel like the show does a good job showing her being kinda immature and unsure and clueless. Janine seems like, she never paid attention sexually to another guy once she was with Tariq and her characterization feels very realistic to me. Kudos, Quinta.

I'm not a fan of Ashley but I don't agree that she is completely incompetent. Yes, fuckin around on her phone and letting Baby Thanos get hold of the candy was bad. But she's not a bad teacher. She connects well with the students and she uses current references they know and understand. Teaching, like any profession, evolves with generation shifts. I could see her ending up a really good teacher. She just young and annoying right now lol.

  10. Still glad this show is back but for me, there's a noticeable lack of maturity in a lot of these dancers performances. Starting with Keaton. I was impressed in his audition but he continues to give me more hammer than scalpel. When his partner was trying to assure her husband, and then they started to dance, I immediately thought her husband has absolutely nothing to worry about. He gives me Patrick Swayze vibes as far as his build but he has none of Patrick's inherent sexiness. They're mostly young, and it shows in their dancing. I have yet to see a true smoulder out of any of them. I've been entertained, but there are no Pasha's or Anya's or Robert's or Jasmine's. They're kids, and their dancing is reflecting that for me. To quote Mary, no hot tamale trains. So that's disappointing.

  11. So glad this show is back, even if I'm way out of the target age lol.

I liked Anna and Maci the best. I didn't mind the new judges. I am surprised I'm the first to point out Matthew Morrison's Broadway background. He's been in multiple musicals, including Hairspray, and I think was nominated for a Tony. So he does have experience as a dancer.

Have I mentioned how glad I am this show is back?

Re Kassie - I guess that every show now has to have the token gay person.  Seems in the NCIS shows it's always a woman.   Maybe the NCIS producers think lesbians are hot or maybe not as offensive to the viewers with fossil sensibilities as a gay man would be.

    Ned Dornegat was gay.

  13. It's starting to seem like HGTV isn't doing their due diligence, especially as it concerns anything to do with Allison. Did they really think all this info about the house and the owners wouldn't come out?

On another note, $150K for a remodel of the ugliest house in America seems kinda cheap. I know it's a lot of money but if you're gonna show houses that obviously need extensive work, maybe up the total to $250K. Otherwise don't show the audience a house with stalagtites in the bathroom. That's $50K or more just in that one room.

  14. I've figured out how Jay could see the ghosts. He gets the flu, and in a fevered state with Sam and the gang looking on, he starts to respond to them and they realize his altered mental state due to a high fever is allowing him to open his mind. They told us kids can sometimes see them, so Jay would have that 'veil' lifted from his brain.

I would even accept that Jay winds up with some kind of slight but lasting damage where he couldn't see the ghosts, but he could continue to hear them. So they could at least talk to him even if he can't see them.

The character of Dan is really, really weird honestly. He's only recently married to Denise of the Burning Barn of Walker's Nightmares in which her father died. I think when we first met his character, DA Denise mentioned that he had no family of his own, and I get that someone like that would feel strongly about being welcomed into viper's nest of Davidson's, but (and there is a huge BUT) his reaction to a twenty-year-old feud that had nothing to do with him is straight out of crazy town. Dude, you weren't there (unless in a shocking plot twist he was....which makes no sense but you never know). Honestly, if I were dating or married to someone who was that angry about something that didn't happen to them, they'd get ghosted really fast. It's also really bizarre that he spends more time with his MIL than his wife. Like, if they were having an insane soapy affair where Paula Marshall was feeding him poisoned chili pillow talk about the mean old Walker's, then I might actually believe it. DA Denise, open your eyes - your husband is just not that into you, but he's really into your mom.

BTW I agree with another poster that there is a whole lot more to this whole barn burning than a simple lantern of contrivance. Who wants to bet that Paula Marshall killed her husband?

SO SO weird. But I like where you're going with the 'poisoned chili pillow talk' affair, that could actually be interesting. Unlike this current iteration of Romeo [insert last name of your choosing] and Juliet Walker. Snooze city.

I guess we've done away with the case of the week format then?

This makes me think of the exchange between Ace and Carson, which seemed like a throwaway at the time. Carson says something about how with Ace's tech skills, he's surprised Ace isn't a tech billionaire. And Ace says "what makes you think I'm not?"

Later on, a digital payment of $100 almost instantaneously appears after Nick/George says something about Ace texting that he should at least contribute towards food. I remember thinking, that's a lot for someone working as a dishwasher in his millionaire boss's establishment....which serves food.

So I'm all in on the theory that there's more to Ace choosing to work at the Klaw other than lack of financial prospects. In fact, if he does come into money (by revealing his hacked millions, being an NFT kajillionaire, or choose to work in that area for reals) he would only be another in a series of the main characters to have a sudden financial reversal of fortune: starting with Nick, Bess (even though she's cut out....for the moment), Nancy (even though she gave the bulk of it away), Ryan (as a result of Nancy's decision), and possibly even George via Teddy (sign me up for Fan Fan membership!) I even think that Bess is in line to become wealthy again on her current path of studying under Temperance.

And speaking of Temperance....total shallow note. I've come to like the actor's portrayal, but I am increasingly distracted by her Dorothy Hamill haircut, which seems so random. The show has been so on point IMO with everyone else's look-- what is this style supposed to say about her character? (I may be missing it completely, but it seems the rest of her style is deliberate)

I think Temperance's hair is a nod to the era in which she was born. It has an 'old time'-y feel to it which I think is deliberate because she looks young. She's also the only adult woman with short hair, I think.

It would be funny if Ace is some kind of game designer, and he's based it off some of their cases some how, like Fan Fan but a role playing game of some kind, and it made him rich. And he's just quietly continued on.

I do hope show doesn't go Dark Willow with Bess. It's such an easy choice to make, I get it. But I want her to be strong enough in her witchy power AND in her empathy power to do what's right without going completely wrong first.

  17. So it's just straight all Walker drama all the time now? Hmm.

I'm sad that Trey is gonna get his heart broken.

What was the song that played during the big gun battle, when ex-Bae went over the ledge?

    The kids continue to annoy.

  18. I feel like Temperance has cast some kind of spell, maybe from that scene with the town map, that is causing strife amongst the gang. I'm getting 'Spike causing trouble with the Scooby gang to break them up so Adam would remove his chip' vibes.

I thought Ace's dad was a decent guy but now I'm not so sure anymore. Withholding the knowledge of his affair and child and forcing Ace to keep that secret from his mother is super fucked up. And then kicking him out for not wanting any part of the lies? He's punishing his son for his own mistakes and not sacking up and telling his wife the truth. That was unexpected and now I'm side eyeing him HARD.

    Bess's distraction duty was hilarious.

  19. I'm so happy this show is back. It was always my favorite of the forensic crime shows. But I guess so much time has passed since I've seen an episode that I have no memory of how the original ended 😆

Love Maxine and she has good chemistry with Sara. None of the newbs irritated me greatly so that's a plus as well. I actually did like Hodges, I figured his worship of Grissom was due to not having a father around. I don't remember if we ever knew what happened to his dad, but I do remember he was very close with his single mother, and that she dated Eckle at one point. I do not believe for an instant that he's guilty.

I'm all in for the 10 episodes.

  21. Stoner Guy is my favorite character, followed by the gay couple. I hope we get more of them.

I think the two 'sisters' are not actually sisters at all. I think the older one was kidnapped first, when she was probably around the younger girl's age. So she's pretty much hard core Stockholm'ed. She may or may not have helped with the younger girl's kidnapping but it's probably her job to 'train' her. The younger girl I'm thinking is still kinda new to being a kidnap victim, I'm going with less than a year. I hope the gay couple rescues her.

Really? Now the military general doctor has a broken back? How's he gonna fix that on his own? And I didn't see any wheelchairs but there really should be a shit ton of supplies, where the fuck did everything go?

Good looking out for your fellow travelers who were out there tryna help find medicine for your dumbass son, Eve. You didn't say shit about them til the daughter asked, and then you're all 'Oh sorry, your dad was totally dragging down my chance to prove to my son that being a helicopter parent was totally warranted so I ditched that brokeback slow poke with the Sad British Black Guy, they'll totally be fine, I'm sure' 《blinks in Righteous Blond Mom》.

That tall alphabet guy working with the other government scientist lady is really part of some nefarious off the books cabal, right? He might as well have 'I'm a super seekrit double agent' flashing across his forehead. And why are they giving Ione Skye a scene or two with like 10 words in these eps? Does she believe her brother now? Did he tell her what he's about to do? Do I even care?

  22. I accept I'm really alone on this island but, I'm not a Nancy/Ace shipper. I really like them and think they have great chemistry, but the thought of them romantically just turns me off. I'm not a fan of Ace and Amanda either, I feel like we haven't met his OTP yet. And while I also love George and Nick, I just don't think Nick and Nancy are done. And I think in some way, the prophecy about someone betraying their true love will actually be them. I also think the last ones - about one of them fulfilling their destiny and causing the others to fall - turns out to actually be a good thing and is necessary to save them all. I don't know, I'm just getting 'Xander is the non powered hero that stops Dark Willow and saves the town' kinda vibe. I also think that cloaked figure that Temperance supposedly vanquished is actually 'a good guy/gal warlock/witch/spector/ghost/etc' trying to stop her. I'm probably completely wrong about it all.

I'm just really happy this show is back.
