Speaking of the "super is a pedophile" angle, I thought those photos of him with the victim looked badly photoshopped or something. For a second I thought it was going to come out that the defense attorney had shopped them herself, which would have been really silly.  In reality, maybe the props people just didn't want to put much effort into something we would see so fleetingly.  Did anyone else think they looked funny or is it just me?

I initially thought they were badly photoshopped photos that the defense team had done but the super’s reaction disproved that.  They don’t look like real photos.  If they are photoshopped I don’t understand why they couldn’t have taken a few pictures of both actors that would have looked more natural.  I even wonder if that exchange with the super was a last minute addition and they were limited in time to set it up so we have the bad photos.

But shooting a violent (door destroying) intruder breaking into your home is probably justifiable homicide.

The law varies by state.  I don’t know where something like this stands in NY but where I am (NJ) shooting someone who barges into a home with malicious intent isn’t justified unless they’re physically attacking a victim there.

  3. Another “someone/this thing/whatever made me do this so I shouldn’t be held accountable” episode.  I did like it though.

I’m an old GenXer who when I started working in the 80s was the “techie” in the office.  These days I’m an aspiring Luddite so watching this episode I shake my head at what these influencers will do to be “famous”.  I did not get how even though these kids came from troubled backgrounds/had issues with their parents that the parents would just give permission to this guy who is almost a kid himself (compared to the parents) to allow their child to live in his place and by his rules.

About that judge who was unfriendly towards Pryce - I was appalled by that as well.  Given what was being implied I can’t believe that would actually take place in a courtroom so I think that might have been the writers way of amping up the drama.

I’m glad in the end that they were going to hold the kid who refused to help later accountable and yes it would have been nice to have seen him getting sentenced.  I guess since episodes are shorter these days something like that is sacrificed.

  4. I watched it but fell asleep partway through.  I also watched Secrets of Playboy on A&E last year and I thought I heard plenty there of the despicable behavior many of the women experienced while with Playboy.  I don’t get what they saw in going there, especially by the time this young woman was involved with them.  Next weeks episode looks somewhat interesting in a creepy way so I’ll probably tune in … if I don’t fall asleep first.

Enough with the make it sexy talk. Ugh.

The Tampa team must be very new at house flipping. Last week they went way over budget. This week they went way over time. Also they don’t seem to be checking on their workers ensuring that the work,is being done.

I can’t take the ‘sexy’ talk either.  Although we’ve seen them only a few times I agree they must be new at this and can’t possibly have multiple flips going on at the same time like the Orlando team does.  So what else are they doing instead of checking on the contractors progress, especially when they’ve set such a tight deadline due to mortgage payments, etc.? None of them have probably never managed people before.   People aren’t always reliable enough to get things done on time or stay on schedule but I guess they know that by now 😊

  6. I liked the character of Seven since it gave us more insight into the Borg.  There were a few lines here and there during the time she was on the show where we got some history about how long they’ve been around.  I thought she was a better character overall than Kes, who I had enough of mostly due to that squicky relationship with Neelix.

Something I would have enjoyed seeing was a story on how the Borg originated - supposedly it was a storyline that was planned for Enterprise but the show was cancelled before that.  I’ve always imagined it was someone’s experiment gone horribly wrong.

  7. Wow last nights episode about Black Market organs was an eye opener.  That guy Mariana interviewed who got the pancreas has to live with the possibility that someone was murdered so he could live.  He doesn’t want to think about that and maybe he should have.   So I guess these people who got transplants through illegal means are also getting the anti rejection drugs as well?  They didn’t go into that at all.

The guy waiting for a new kidney that she talked to at the beginning and the end is a good person although he may die waiting for that transplant.  I hope he makes it.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but Keith & those guys had a certain goofy charm that this team is lacking. This could be any of the dozens of flipping/fixer-upper shows out there.

I was thinking the same thing.  We’ve had several seasons of the same team and now they decide to feature other people.    With all of the other shows of this type out there they should have started a new series with this crew.  I even wonder how long these 3 will even last, using the money part as an example.  I’d rather watch Keith, Justin, etc but if they didn’t do the show anymore I’d rather watch this Tampa crew over the one in Dallas.

  9. They also seem to be poor at estimating the renovation costs.  At the start the guy (can’t remember his name) said he wants to buy properties in very bad shape.  That costs lots of $$$ to fix.

I could be wrong but for termite infested properties don’t you want to bring the exterminator in at the beginning before you bring the new stuff in?  I think that’s the way they did it with the Orlando team.

  10. The SyFy marathon is still going on today.  They’re going to show a couple of my favorites soon - A Stop at Willoughby and Time Enough at Last.

I watched the Jordan Peele 2019 episodes last night.  Overall I thought they were okay - interesting that they were broadcast in black and white.  Of the 3 episodes they showed I thought only one felt more impactful broadcast in B&W.  They also aired some promos for these newer episodes airing this Wednesday.

I had the same thing. So came here to see if anyone knew what happened.

I have no idea but I’m wondering if there’s anything online from anyone on the show would say what happened.   I don’t do any of the social media like Facebook, Instagram, etc.  I doubt it would be anything like low ratings after only one episode with a new team.

  12. The article makes references to 13 series regulars.  I didn’t realize this from watching the show but it seems like a lot for a show that also says they’re focusing on this one family (of 4 people) in this wanna be Lost show that is really dumb and doesn’t appear to be that well thought out IMO.

It really amazes me that the first season had such awful ratings, it could have gotten cancelled. But the network head stuck with it, along with some other shows that weren't getting any viewers (I think Hill Street Blues did just as bad its first season), and the show helped NBC become the powerhouse network of the 80s. It was still getting strong ratings in its final season.   If Dansen hadn't decided he'd had enough, it could have gone on even longer.

IIRC NBC in the early 80s wasn’t exactly a ratings powerhouse.  It was probably fortunate for shows like Cheers and Hill Street Blues that NBC did stick with them as it was certainly easier to go at least another season or two with them rather than try with something brand new.  This was about the same time of Manimal which didn’t last long so who knows what other dogs they would have shown instead of Cheers.

I was surprised to see this earlier today.  At first I thought it was a joke then I saw the source.  The article said she didn’t publicize her illness so for all of us it came out of the blue.  So sad.  ☹️.  She gave new life to Cheers and help steer it into a new direction for several years.  Not that easy when you consider how long the show had been on the air by the time she joined.

  14. @CrazyInAlabama agree with you regarding your estimate of how much that renovation would probably cost.  I have no idea what the Fort Worth/Dallas market is like regarding renovation costs, housing, etc. as I’m in a different state.   Last year selling my parents house (which they had owned for years) needed updates and the renovation estimate that the initial interested buyer told us he got was close to 100k (we turned him down btw).  The renovations touched every room of the house. I figure the person we did sell the house to spent that much based on what he sold the house for months later.

Anyway with that 35k budget I’d be wary of the materials they used unless they got a really, really good deal (I doubt it).  I’ll watch next week to see if it’s the same shtick again.

  15. I got to see only the last 20 minutes or so when they were in “crisis” mode.  This team is “meh” for me.   I checked the listing for next week and it looks like it’s the same crew again.   They showed the commercial explaining there’s new episodes at different locations so I’ll keep an eye out for them.   Anyone know what happened that caused them to do episodes in other locations with different people?  Did they run out of zombies in the Orlando area? 😆😆

I was yelling at the idiots to grab some food, some medical supplies, change of clothes, soap, deodorant, toothbrushes...something, before leaping into the sinkhole.  This show is so stupid it makes me twitchy.

Maybe they’re planning to take advantage of all the amenities at that tower after they help Gavin’s mother with that computer virus? 🤣🤣🤣 yeah, grab some supplies already.

I haven't watched it yet so what's the deal? Ty is fighting the "husband" to force him to get a divorce?

He knew how to treat the injuries Lucas sustained when they were fighting the guards at that tower.  I don’t think the intent was for a divorce to take place.
