are there really any people left who care about this woman? She seems like the ultimate has-been of reality tv at this point.

She IS the ultimate has-been by now.

Kate, sell your huge house, get a job in nursing and learn how to get along with Jon.

I don't care if people want to pimp themselves out on reality tv for $$$, I really don't.  But when they involve children it is time to stop.  I could not even try to watch "Spouse House" or "Married at First Sight" because as someone who is divorced I can't stomach anyone taking marriage lightly, even w/out the kids.  90 Day Fiance?  Sure - when it is just the TWO of them.  Those with kids, who bring a stranger into the house with little ones......call CPS, seriously.

  2. Here is a bit of the coverage:

Castile was fatally shot on July 6, 2016, after being pulled over by a police officer in Falcon Heights. Reynolds, in the passenger seat while Castile was driving, live-streamed the immediate aftermath to Facebook Live, prompting nationwide protests. Reynolds’ 4-year-old daughter was in the back seat at the time of the shooting and later consoled her mother in a squad car, telling her to quiet down because she was worried her mother would get shot.

Last month, the man charged with the shooting, former St. Anthony police officer Jeronimo Yanez, was acquitted.  The city of St. Anthony subsequently paid Castile’s family a $3 million settlement relating to the death, avoiding a lawsuit; the amount marks the maximum covered by the city’s insurance carrier. Reynolds was not part of the settlement.

And then Philandro's dad, who was in a federal prison and had no contact with his son, ever, wanted a piece of the millions.  Of course he did.  Here is our Miss Diamond in the middle.  Wonder if Iyanla showed that last night?  And yes they were smoking a bowl.

Honestly, I’m not nearly as concerned with Diamond’s mental and emotional state as I am with that of her young daughter.  That poor baby was just four-years-old when this happened.  Her reactions in the moment were heartbreakingly sensitive, empathic, and very emotionally aware for someone of her tender age.  We can debate what Philando may or may not have done and what role race may have played in his death, but at the end of the day, we have an innocent little girl whose mother has made horribly bad choices that will directly impact her.  I hope Iyanla made some arrangements for her psychological care (that hopefully do not involve Iyanla directly).  I also hope Diamond came away from her interactions with Trayvon Martin’s mother with an increased awareness of the impact of a strong mother and made some changes in her life, starting with not smoking pot with her child one foot away in the car.

I agree.  Her daughter is who I am concerned with as well.

I did see she won a 800,000 settlement after this aired.

Oh yes and there was A LOT of talk if she was going to give any money to the girl she attacked with a hammer.  Me thinks not.  Look, the cop in question WAS trigger happy, not a lot of room for error here, but people.......when a cop tells you to NOT REACH FOR A GUN.....don't reach for anything.

I wanted Iyanla to call up a few dads.  Trayvon's, Philando's, Diamond's, Daughter of Diamond, see how they can be more involved or what their feelings were/are in all these matters.

I must admit for full disclosure I did not/could not watch the episode.  Watching Diamond speak makes me ill.

I'm not familiar with the Diamond Reynolds episode or, who most of these people are. Probably tied in to celebrity type folk. But honestly my beloveds, I don't care much about Iyanla's episodes with "almost famous" or "famous" people.

Okay, I may take some backlash on this one but.....Diamond Reynolds was with Philando Castille, smoking pot in their car with her young (3? 4? yr old daughter in the car.)  Got pulled over, Philando told a cop he had a gun under the seat, had a conceal and carry, but was told to NOT REACH FOR THE GUN.  Repeatedly.  Philando reached for it, was shot by the cop.  That was very VERY wrong, but Diamond has painted herself as widow of the year when they were not married and she was smoking weed in front of her daughter, then instead of calling for help decided to livestream the event on FB.

Then, a few months later attacked a girl (along with two others) with a hammer.

Iyanla brought on the mother of Trayvon Martin to back up the......I am not sure why she was on, actually.

  7. Really looking forward to feedback on Diamond Reynolds, the former fiance of Philando Castille, who was shot during a routine traffic stop in St Paul in the summer of 2016.  I wonder of Diamond will bring this up?

    https://www.twincities.com/2018/03/30/diamond-reynolds-guilty-of-misdemeanor-assault-avoids-felony/

I am a local MN girl - lots of mixed feelings towards Diamond around these parts.

Wonder if the girl that Diamond attacked with a hammer, along with two other girls, would want any counseling from Iyanla per Diamond assaulting her.

My niece is doing her senior year of high school on line (her mother moved to a new school district). My niece is - surprise-failing. It's mostly because she doesn't get the work done but also because she needs more guidance, instruction and structure.

Darn it!!  I was REALLY hoping you were going to come on and say your niece is a success story!!  (Really, I was!)  Plus (here is another shocker, I know) most parents, although smart, are not equipped to handle high school or even middle school subjects.  Do you want to teach/tutor Calculus?  Me neither.

Also, the over the top chirpiness of the preteens is just......no, they are not THAT chipper.  I found one with Tyler - who wants to be a chef - I want to post the one about the kid who gets a puppy and suddenly he wants to be a vet.  I need to go get a hobby now......

  11. Okay, I am back (so soon?  How can we miss you if you don't go away?) as I thought of another one that is seasonal and it making a comeback.  This could be regional, but we have a school around here called Connections Academy.  Hate hate hate the commercials:  "Hi!  I am Jenny at 22!  This is my younger self at 11!  My parents wanted to put me in an environment where I could really thrive, so they chose Connections Academy!"

Okay, last year I worked at a half online/half school building school and this commercial is so wrong.  Most kids SAY they want an online school but sadly, most will fail.  Why?  They miss their friends and the vast majority of pre teens/teens do not have the discipline to work with deadlines.  Most teens are not really into listening to their parents when it comes to following directions, either.  When I see the happy go lucky pre teen all happy on their laptop, smiling as they talk to their teachers......oy.  Try this scenario:  "Billy!!  BILLY!  Get off the gaming system!!  IT IS TIME FOR SCHOOL!"  "Ma.....stop bugging me....I will get it done."

The kids they have in the commercial try so darn hard to show how happy, perky, studious and just darn so happy......makes me ill!!!!  LOL!

Any commercial where a parent (usually a mom though) has to trick, cajole, bribe, etc her offspring to eat healthy choices makes me lunge for the mute button.  There was one for a pedia-sure type drink:  "He was falling off the growth charts!" as sonny boy is pushing away perfectly good food.  But now he is happy!  Why?  Because instead of real food he gets a shake!  Let me guess mom, he gets a gummy vitamins too as we can't have sonny boy eat, oh I don't know.......food?  I was not Mrs Super Strict with my kiddos, but man.....they ate what WE ate.

Husband was micromanager personified....kept the useless blocked off back door  because once a year that's how they bring in the Christmas tree?????

And picking out stone is a terrifying experience????  Also didn't like that they said they only had $73,000 in the budget ( after scrimping and saving....snifff, sniff....for 15 years!!)  for the kitchen, then they whip $10,000 out of their pocket to give to the contractor on the side for the bathroom that wasn't even scheduled for the show?  Have to admire the control by Nate & Jeremiah ...they must have been livid.

Think they would have been better off spending some of that reno budget on a psychiatrist.

That couple was off.  First off, building an add on for your daughter so she won't leave the nest is a bit controlling for my tastes.  Picking out countertops?  Really?  Is it THAT scary?  Who lives without a kitchen sink for THAT long?  My mom was w/out hot water in her kitchen sink for about a year and we were like......"MOM!"  But hey she wasn't trucking her dishes into the bathroom.

Weird couple and their weirdness was all on display for all to see.

I work in education and the "Finyx" needs to stop. Yesterday.

I think the controlling hubby showed plans to contractors and when told it was not possible, hubby fired any future contractors.  I had very little sympathy for them.

Yup, I was 39. I did not enjoy being pregnant at all, and I looked terrible and felt worse. Never got that "burst of energy", never had lovely glowy skin. My ankles looked like knees and I had to lug a box of tissues with me everywhere because my allergies went into overdrive. These girls are all heading for a hard fall when their Hallmark card expectations collide with reality.

Yeah......after I had my beloved son, I had popped blood vessels in my cheeks and somehow grew three chins, I joke his birthday is over three days as it took that long to get him out, so again.....no to all the photography.  Like hell no.

I hear ya on the "This is all I have" line of thinking, and it is really too bad.  Big reality jolt headed their way.  Geez I was SO meticulous with my birth control as a young woman.....I just don't get it!

Bio mom was very strange and reserved when she was found. She warmed up more during the reunion but I thought it was odd how she said she didn't remember if she ever held her son? Also, she said the bio dad was married with kids but then she happened to have a high school yearbook with his picture? That made no sense. Was he a classmate or some older married guy? Or did she just happen to find an old yearbook with him?

I thought the same thing per having the yearbook photo of him - why would she have it?  If she was 19/20 when she was involved with him, he was married with two kids, right?  Let' say he was 26,27, how would she get a yearbook from years ahead of her?  I can only think a producer found one for her to show him, which leads me to my next item:  I am ALL for finding out who is who as long as all parties agree.  "Knock, knock - who is there?  It is me - the son you had with a 19 year old while you were married to your wife!!!"  Who is to say bio dad is still married to the woman but man.....that could be a big can of worms right there!

Per Birth Mom not remembering if she held him - I cut her some slack here.  Chances are she was told she would not feel anything, she should not feel anything, and suddenly you are feeling A LOT.  It could be a blur to her, mainly for self protection.

I hate to say it because I'm more than 50% sure he was guilty, but I think I'd have to vote not guilty. The lack of DNA evidence and the history of burglaries is enough reasonable doubt. It's one of those things where my gut tells me one thing and my brain says another. Plus there wasn't any prior history of violence towards women (that we know of).

I wondered about that too. If there were a burglary it seems like the logical thing is to warn the caller to stay out of the house. But maybe the operator was more focused on the daughter and checking to see if she was all right - I can't remember if her mother told the operator there seemed to have been a burglary. I don't think she did, I think she just said the apartment was all messed up.

Norman definitely had a type - all the women we saw were about the same age, white women who were slightly overweight and not exactly head-turning attractive. I think "predatory" is a good word to describe him - he knows exactly who to go after.

Yep - a lot of those ladies on the stand sure look similar.  Had I worked with Norman he would have avoided me.  Am I a stunner?  No.  Am I bit "fluffy?"  Maybe.... I do have a "don't feed me that crap" look about me, though, lol.  He really honed on in on that "Yes, I would love be flirted with....thank you!" type of woman.  I do wonder how anyone got any work done.

Kudos to poster upthread who finally said something about that DAMN BACKWARDS RED HAT on the brother.  Dude, NBC News is here.  Take.  Off. The. Hat.

  18. Norman, Norman, Norman.......what a douchebag.  I believe he was guilty, but there was not enough to convict him.  The one thing, that I, if I were a juror, would have been a big red flag were the words, in his own voice, "STAY PREGNANT UNTIL THEN."  That was bone chilling to me.  "Please stay pregnant as I need to off you before that baby comes."  I, as a juror, would not really judge him for the multiple partners, either.  It takes two, and it sounds like the women did not know they were being played.  Maybe they did but did not care.

No way did a burglar pop in to rob someone, between the hours of 8-10pm, and end up killing a woman who was obviously pregnant.

I believe the 1-11 then 11-1 is because he had high priced lawyer the first time, not so high priced the second time.

He did not seem all that charming, he was not that handsome (to me) and, forgive me, Lord, he seem short.  Maybe he was tall in all the right places?

    Did anyone watch tonight's episode?

I can't imagine being 48 years old and finding out I was adopted. I wonder if his bio-mom told him that his bio-dad was married when she was seeing him and got pregnant by him.

I'm glad that Maria was able to stay clean after being paroled from prison, especially after her son died. After the episode ended I went and Googled Matthew. The one article I found related to what happened, it told a totally different story than what Maria had told Lisa.

Quoted from the (http://www.nj.com/mercer/index.ssf/2008/08/city_man_charged_in_2007_fatal.html) article, "Brunson was an alleged Bloods gang affiliate and convicted felon...".

Also, "...detectives said Brunson and Taylor (the other guy) were arguing before the shooting after drinking at a corner bar and may have known each other from the neighborhood." and "...Taylor, a convicted drug dealer..."

I also found 2 court records (https://www.courtrecords.org/people/MATTHEW+BRUNSON+NJ/) for Matthew, one was for a "possession of cds" and the other for "poss schd I II III IV". I also found his obituary (http://www.ledfordfuneralhomeinc.com/notices/Matthew-Brunson). I don't know their relation to Nicole, but Matthew had 4 other siblings.

I can understand why they didn't mention the real shooting issue on the show, but I hope either Lisa or Maria told her off camera.

    Yes, I'm nosy.

No, you are that nosy....I was looking for the camera to pan down and see the full name and dates.    I can see why the mom would not want to come out and say "Yeah well he was a gang member so......."  It could have been over a flirtation of a girl, it could have been more.  It probably was more but Mom did not want to get into it with a limited amount of time.  SIster will find out soon enough.

Wow - the 48 year old finding out AFTER his parents passed.  That is just wild.  Birth mom seemed a little flat but maybe that is just her nature?  I hope her sons are okay with new big brother - my bet is yes.
