  1. Yeah, I agree. I don't think it really saved as many lives as Sam pretended - there were probably just enough along the way for him to keep fooling himself. Ooh, now that's something I hadn't considered! Very Interesting....
  2. That's really sweet! (I honestly mean that!) I wish I could feel the same way, but I just didn't think Sam in S4 was very sympathetic at all.
  3. All very good points about not knowing why or how Sam started drinking demon blood in the first place and his rather vague motivation to take it back up after Criss Angel. But, in my opinion, the fact that he did quit for awhile, and seemed to realize it was bad and was able to say no to Ruby at least once, as you mentioned above, supports my original comment that even at the height of his blood addiction, Sam was capable of some rational thought, so he should have been able to realize drinking demon blood was wrong and not be "rationalizing" it away the way other drug addicts do (not meth addicts, because as previously stated, they don't even bother to rationalize) especially after The Prophet Chuck! told him it was wrong.
  4. This is a very good point, and one that I don't think I picked up on before. All that being said, in my original comment about Sam getting a clue, I was only addressing Sam getting a clue that drinking blood itself was bad - not about the whole killing Lilith/seals breaking thing! :) I understand why Sam didn't pick up on all the machinations of the demons and angels; partly because of his blood addiction and because what led to his addiction was his desire for revenge on Lilith. Dean just got out of hell, so I can understand him getting fooled, because he was busy trying to play catch up at first - and then the hell PTSD on top of that. Bobby, I agree, should have had a clearer head. Cas was not thinking straight after his reprogramming. So I agree that Anna was really the only one thinking straight at the beginning, although she also got fooled by Ruby, if I recall.
  5. I don't need to imagine. Been there. Done that. Paid for the t-shirt factory in blood, sweat, and tears. You should understand that for a meth addict, it's not about rationalizing. Not at all. They aren't taking the drugs for some 'greater good' like Sam alleged, or even to 'help them get through the day' like most alcoholics will say, or to work a double shift like some amphetamine addicts. Real meth addicts don't care at all about anything other than getting their next high and they don't even bother with any rationalization. So imo,, even at the height of his addiction, Sam was not quite that far gone (since he was able to rationalize drinking the demon blood to use his powers to kill Lilith - which means that he was at least capable of some rational thought) that he shouldn't have been able to piece together a clue.
  6. Aww! If it makes you feel any better, Mickey Mouse scared my (then 6 yr old) daughter too. But she loved Minnie!
  7. Lol! Well, I've been to DisneyWorld, not DisneyLand - does that count? Been to Graceland too - that was pretty cool. DisneyWorld was actually very nice for a huge theme park. (Much rather go there than any of the Six Flags parks) But I guess it depends on where you're at in your life. That was when I was much younger and with my much younger daughter. If I went now - it probably would be a little like Hell. :)
  8. I might be wrong, and maybe I haven't been 'tested'...(but eh, on the other hand, yes, I think I already have) but I like to think that my morals aren't so 'relative'. (And don't get me wrong - I'm not trying to say I'm better or worse than anyone else. It's just the way I am and I'm happy with it.) Granted, I've never watched Breaking Bad. As I said, I never will. But here's my take: my ex-husband became a meth-head. Until then he was a good father and husband, and I really think he initially started using drugs was because of the long hours he was working. But that didn't make his decision right, just like whatever the main character's motivation for getting involved with meth; it wasn't a good reason. Not for me. And as I said, I never watched the show, so I don't know if it showed the fallout with his family as a result of his involvement with drugs, but let me tell you - the reality is NOTHING like anything you will ever see on television. I don't ever need to watch it. I've lived it. There is no grey area as far as I'm concerned with Walter. I don't know what others consider redemption - and on the one hand it is not mine to give or withhold. But some people think my ex has 'redeemed' himself. I don't. I know exactly what he has and hasn't done. I do not see the same thing in Supernatural. I apologize if this came off as rather rude. It wasn't intentional, but unfortunately you happened to hit a real hot button for me, so I think it would be best if I bowed out of the conversation at this point.
  9. LOL! I like that idea. I'm going to have to try it. Plus, it will drive my daughter crazy! ;) Eh...Personally, I feel the same way about GOT, even with the medieval setting. I guess I like my 'heroes' to have some kind of moral backbone and right now I can't think of anyone on GOT that fits. I'm with you on this one. ;) I didn't even make it through the first few episodes. But weirdly, I really liked Pretty Little Liars, which was mostly all teenagers also.
  10. Let's just say that it hits a little too close to home, so I have no need to watch it. :) Lol. I only watch with my daughter - so she can keep reminding me of plots/characters I've forgotten. She can keep them all straight. I barely can. I know we, or at least I, complain about Supernatural killing off too many characters, but I think Game of Thrones does the same thing. At this point on Game of Thrones, I can't think of anyone I really want to 'root' for - not really even Jon Snow. At least on Supernatural, I still have Dean and Sam, even when they're being jerks. :)
  11. Game of Thrones also gets a full 60 minutes per episode with which to work. Supernatural, like most other network shows, only gets around 40 minutes. That extra 20 minutes makes a big difference in terms of plotting and character development moments. And just for the record, I like GOT, but I agree it's not fair to compare it to Supernatural. I also think that I think quite a few Supernatural episodes easily stand up against GOT. For me it's Breaking Bad. Never watched it. Never will. It's supposed to be a very well written show. I don't care.
  12. Ah...sad to hear that! On the other hand, they could always 'bring him back' via body swap like the whole Roman Brady/John Black story. Lol! Or it could be a haunted portrait and Sam and Dean have to show up...
  13. Ah. That must have been around the time of one of my more "off" sessions. :) So I got curious as to whether Days is still on - and it is! Lol! Too funny. I might have to start watching again. Brings back good memories of talking about the show back in college. Fun thing about Days is that it never takes long to catch up on the storyline, no matter how long you've been away. Also - talk about a show where no one ever really dies! (Stefano, amiright?)
  14. Gee. Thanks. Lol. This made me fall into a YouTube hole of watching Jensen on Days of Our Lives. I used to watch Days back in the day. (Been watching on and off, mostly off, since I was around 4 and my mom used to watch!) And I remembered evil Sami and Hello! Dr. Mike Horton! But I swear I could not remember Jensen as Eric at all. So of course I had to keep watching to try to jog my memory.
  15. Since no one else has answered... I think Mary still has John's journal. At least, that was the last I remember seeing it. I have no idea on the EMF-walkman. Maybe they used the parts of it to make the two newer ones. :D
  16. Hi everyone! New here. It's been awhile since I was involved with a fandom forum (anyone remember the old Yahoo Groups?) but a friend of mine convinced me to join. It was traditional back in the day to introduce yourself, so here I am. Introducing myself. :) I've been watching Supernatural for awhile and I'll probably mostly lurk, but I do enjoy reading all the opinions!
