Who was, or who all were, participants who flew to Houston?  I remember someone being pushed through the airport on a luggage cart.
And didn't someone get the whole back row of seats?
This is for a discussion on 1,000 Lb Sisters.  Tammy the really big one, wants to go to Las Vegas to meet her online boyfriend, and people were saying she probably couldn't fly, but some of us figured she could.
And diapers were involved, weren't they?
    Thanks!

Amber Rachdi was the one on the luggage cart, the foot rest on her “specially made” wheelchair broke.  Photos are available online.  Not sure about the other stuff!

I don't understand why the family argue with Tammy over ridiculous things.  She wants to go to Las Vegas, ok have a nice time Tammy text me when you get there.  It's just like Chris bitching about her new "boyfriend" leaving her if she looses too much weight.  How about having her actually start to loose some weight first then worry about the boyfriend later.

So Tammy feels like she's a celebrity sitting there at the local fair as people gaze at her and take pictures.  I don't think the people she went to school with are very impressed.  Eating massive amounts of food until you're immobile isn't something most people aspire to, but good for her I guess.

I liked that Tisa got her to get out and go to the pool, she needs more activity like that on a daily basis.  I also like that Tisa doesn't take her crap and calls her out on it she needs more of that and less enabling from her family.

All this.  I’d happily send Tammy on her way to Vegas and if the trip is a problem she can solve it herself.  Cos she’s so “independent”.

Self-proclaimed “queen” Tammy bragging that she inspires people made me laugh.  The inspiration she provides might be to stop eating to avoid getting to her size.  Not fitting in the motorized wheelchair should have made her think about getting more active and sticking to her diet so she COULD do more on her own, but Tammy’s thought processes don’t go there..  I love Tisa and her attitude to Tammy’s demands.

Once the place is cleaned up, all Amy has to do is maintenance, and maybe get a maid service in every couple of weeks.

But she’s a MOM now!  She doesn’t have time to keep the place picked up!!

  4. Count me in to the group that broke out in hysterical laughter at the bug crawling up the wall behind Amy as she cried about being shamed online for bugs in her videos.

If Tammy’s only cheats were two slices of pizza and a burger she would still have lost more weight.  I feel so bad for Tisa having to deal with her, whatever she’s being paid can’t be anywhere near enough.  Turf Tammy  out to the boyfriend in Las Vegas , let him feed and take care of her, she’ll be happy and enjoy what’s left of her life.

  5. I ditched Netflix because we weren’t really watching it.  And they gave loads of money to two former royals I dislike intensely.  We currently have Amazon Prime and BritBox that we watch often, Disney+ for me because I love the old cartoons and MCU stuff, and a free AppleTV+ sub for the moment that I won’t pay for.  If I had unlimited money I’d have AcornTV as well but can’t justify that at the moment.  We use YouTube to watch (current) UK Antiques Roadshow and Have I Got News For You but the ads haven’t been so bothersome that it’s worth paying to remove them.  And that’s on top of an expensive cable tv bill because one MUST have the golf channel that only comes with the sports package!

They need to stop and let her sink or swim.

Swim?  TAMMY??  She will sink.  She is such a nasty excuse for a human being that I fast forward over most of her “scenes” these days.

I’d have cut all contact with a sibling like her and moved away many years ago.  (I guess the TLC money is too tempting for that family?)  She doesn’t want to help herself and no one else can do it for her, they are enabling her while nagging endlessly.  I’d leave her to her BBW King and let him take care of her from now on. She claims that’s what she wants so leave her to it, whatever happens is on HER.

The biggest dumpster fire in the history of the show....I think my mouth was hanging open through at least 70% of this episode.

Dammit, now I have to go read the live chat and thread for this episode.  Damned insomnia.

Keeping on topic, the high tea party was a debacle from the food served to the Slaton guests in attendance.

I'm a mean old lady, but I mortify and freeze easily.

I may or may not have let an elevator close on Rusty Dennis at Harbor General Hospital in the 1970s.  I was frozen at the sight before me and couldn't force myself to snap out of it to press the correct button.

It comes as no surprise to me that I don't think I could bring myself eat if Tammy were within my eyesight.  I would be utterly repulsed.

(If any of you lovely people would like me to save you a seat on my bus to hell, give me a shout out!)

I deleted that show, haven’t been interested in the pounticipants this year, but I do read the Live Chat.  When I started reading this one I un-deleted the episode because it sounds like she’ll be up there with the all-time greats (worsts?).

But yeah, looking at Tammy  makes me want to stop eating entirely.  Which would not be a bad thing for me these days!

Forgive me but what is a computer operator?

Back in my IT working days they were the people responsible for the big mainframe computers running the processing and print queues and loading / unloading drives.

I also have a spouse who informs me what he wants to watch and it’s up to me to connect to the relevant streaming service and search for whatever it is then run it.  Before I go to bed I switch him back to the “normal” cable and he’s fine with that remote.

If you have or want DVDs from other regions, it's pretty easy to find the codes to make a DVD player region-free.

Sometimes.  I have one in particular that wasn’t hackable but usually research a model before buying to make sure I can do it.  DVDs are about 50/50 between regions 1 and 2 in this house!

  9. Bonus scenes - Queen Tammy updating her hordes of followers because her family “don’t seem that happy to see me”.  Then when Chris takes her to the Mexican restaurant it starts well. She walks from the point the wheelchair is stuck on the curb up to and through the door into the restaurant.  Chris orders a healthy meal, Tammy decides to reward herself with favourite foods.  Chris SUDDENLY realizes that this was a bad idea.  Uh, yeah.

But as it is, I felt like the easiest thing for now was going with what I’m used to.

If it works for you then you can’t go wrong with the same again.  My backup machine is my mum’s old mechanical all-metal basic one and I’ll never let go of that. I think 99% of my (non-embroidery) sewing is straight stitch / zig zag / overlock and not the fancy stitches.

    Is it the Singer 4411?!

I guess I thought that asking a specific group would be more helpful than asking Facebook at large? It was not, haha! There was also the tone-deafness of the people who said, “Return it and buy the $700 brand!” OK, no—at least not for the stuff I use the machine for!

No, it’s a Bernina (purchased it before moving to the US - nowhere near as expensive as they are here!!) The FB groups can be useful but also a bit of a minefield.  Posters are often encouraged to choose $7k+ machines never mind $700! Mine is 15 years old now and still does everything I need, I sew or embroider most days but if it ever becomes unfixable I wouldn’t pay the price of a new one.

Oy vey, maybe this peeve is totally on me because I expected it. I posted to a sewing group on FB today because I bought a new machine (a replacement for the exact model I have—I broke something and the cost to repair it was only a little less than the cost of a new one) and it wasn’t working correctly. Anyway, oh my goodness, so many comments by people (presumably trying to help) who just didn’t read what I’d said that I’d already tried, or the ones asking if I’d read the manual (again, same model I’ve been using for years). Then there were the ones that assumed user error (or were not at all helpful, like, “well, everyone knows that brand sucks!”). And the comments that came after I amended the original post to say “TY, but I already returned it.” Ha, I should have trusted my gut and not asked!

Not totally on you!!  I notice these kind of posts ALWAYS have people who don’t read previous replies repeating the same basic stuff that 20 people have already suggested or that the original poster said they had tried (like you).  I own a rather diva-ish machine that many people hate and that one does tend to be user error for people who aren’t familiar with its quirks, I stay out of all discussions there!

It does not hurt my feelings that Kate did not win again, although Dane needs to cut it out with the swaying.  Kate's "woo!" every time she answered correctly was getting on my nerves.

I was really hoping Elena would win because we had exactly the same feelings about the other contestants.  Loved seeing Ken hosting though!

OK a new and annoying pet peeve a commercial/ad comes on  that has Siri say something..it activates my Siri on my laptop. And "she" asks what I want...,
Go away!  I don't want to interact with Siri...Just go away!!! This is invasive and annoying!

Every time I’m asked to set up Siri I select “later” and then never do it.  I don’t want to talk to my phones / tablets / computers / television / etc and get a reply.  I have been known to threaten some devices with terrible tortures when they refuse to behave (mainly sewing machines and computers) but I don’t want them answering back.

  15. Anna Karenina is a book I’ve read.  I sort-of knew Keira Knightley played her in a truly ridiculous (IMO) adaptation that I couldn’t make sense of and would never willingly watch again.  But I’ve never seen another film version so had no idea who else played her, and like everyone else would associate Knightley most strongly with Elizabeth Bennett.

I am so glad other people said Lady Marmalade. I am usually all over musical FJ's but this one got by me and I swear the writers get sneaky as they choose songs that are barely in the decade the category describes. This happened one other time this year too...

They can't keep doing this to me. My allusion of being a musical trivial goddess must still be in tact!!!!

Other than that, I don't recall much of Friday's game..Mayim is growing on me. I miss Alex but there's nothing that can be done about that..

I never heard of Roxanne in the 1970s so Lady Marmalade was my guess as well.  Sneaky is right!!
