I have been married for a number of years. But I stayed engaged for 3 years because I was not going to have that kind of husband.  He was raised in a typical Irish household where women do all the work at home and the men come home and sit on the couch. My husband has done his share of the housework when we both worked.  Notice I did not say he helped. Helping means it's my job. He has learned to cook and can even cook a complete Thanksgiving dinner. You can't hope that they will change after you're married;  you have to set the example and state what you want prior to marriage.

Yes, the Irish Mammy is infamous!!

I have read that the combination of starch, oil and salt in potato chips hits all the right spots to make them addictive for lots of people.

The only supermarket kind I like are Cape Cod, and I haven't seen them in small bags.

Cape Cod do make small bags.  Sweet mesquite BBQ is my weakness.

My sister (or brother).  When you have a little extra $, try Jameson's Irish Whiskey.  Scotch and then some.  Smokey and delicious.

My husband was ready to kill the friend who introduced me to Johnny Walker all those years ago.  I was happily drinking Dewar's up to then.

If you have a LOT of extra $ there is nothing else from Ireland like Midleton Very Rare.  Far more reasonably priced are Jameson’s Caskmates, they do a Stout and an IPA both of which are interesting.  Now I want a drink while re-watching last night’s fiasco (well the bits I don’t fast forward through because the stupidity makes me too angry).

His Dad was very young, it’s terrible being so far away. Evil-Lin needs to get a visa sorted to be there for him. She’s not being overly supportive imo

It’s not easy on short notice, I missed my mother in law’s funeral for that very reason.  I’ll give her a pass just for this one thing.
