  1. LeBlanc is another one who self nominates frequently. I think MS and PB do also, there is a group of them. So there is a reason some win more than others....it's because they submit themselves all the time. Many actors never, or rarely, bother going through the process. Most just do it when they think they've done a important storyline. Bryton hasn't won that much at all given the number of self-nominations. I think 18 of them: 9 times in the YOUNGER actor male category (the easy peasy ones) and got 4 noms and 1 win. Another 9 times in the SUPPORTING actor contest and received another 4 noms and 1 win so far. So it's not an impressive result. PB, CB, and MS all submit for the much tougher to win, LEAD actor award, and have had much better results than Bryton with the noms and wins. But even if you don't win you get all the fanfare, (lunch's/interviews/media recognition) leading up to the event so it's a major PR thing for themselves also.
  2. Not really a surprise since Bryton is a serial self-nominator. He's nominated himself, in the easiest to win category possible, almost every year since is he started in 2005ish? Even if he doesn't have a story he sends in his scenes. Most voters don't know if the actor had a story or not. You are only judged on the scenes. He nominated himself every year -in the younger actor male category-until he aged of it at 26 (I think). Those are as so easy to win, and get nominated for, because there are so few of them, and even fewer of the younger actors know how to nominate themselves. Then he's nominated himself for supporting actor every year since that.
  3. Conner Floyd did an interview a couple days ago that explained why. I guess he grew a beard so Chance would look older. Chance was born on-screen in 1988, making him 35. He doesn’t have a baby face and looks mid-30s to me, so I don’t understand why he feels he needs to do that. I like him better without the beard too. I wish I could accept the honor, but I stumbled upon someone else using it on social media. It’s the perfect nickname, plus I don’t have to type out, Chance is so handsome, every time I post.
  4. I sure am enjoying seeing Detective Chancesome on my screen more often. He may not be preventing any crimes, but he sure pretties up the place. Now that the GCAC set is back, isn’t it about time for the rooftop pool to open?
  5. He's not lost any appeal to me! Chance is the only reason I still follow any of this soap. Although, I'll admit I don't see him in the big picture due to my method of watching. I collect 10-20 episodes and watch a Chance-a-thon (and maybe a few other scenes that may interest me) in my mass fast-forwarding spree. But I can certainly can get on board with your conspiracy theory that they are toning him down in order to not upstage some of their "writer's pet" male characters on the show. There is no other reason that they would put this spectacular looking man in GARBAGE! Y&R went to lots of trouble to create a set full of dumpsters and GARBAGE to place Chance in. WTH? Meanwhile, many viewers are chomping at the bit to see this handsome man getting out of the shower, grabbing a towel to pat himself dry, so he can answer the phone from a GC resident needing his assistance. They gave the new town psycho Cameron an open shirt scene in his bathroom right off the bat. It's been years and we have yet to see Chance in the shower. Give us the shower scene, please!!!!! A total and complete waste. The Chancellor legacy is a classic long running Bill Bell storyline many of us have followed through the decades. It can practically write itself, but it seems they try to suppress it at every turn. Is it because they are still trying to gaslight us into believing Devon is a Chancellor? I don't know, but that only works on the newest viewers. Most of us know Devon is not a Chancellor and does not have one drop of Chancellor blood. We have watched decades of a Y&R that included Brock and Mac, and know the difference between Katherine's blood and Chancellor blood. Katherine having descendants isn't something new. I don't think the show cares what we want, they definitely have their own agenda and write what pleases them. On another note, I just watched a Conner Floyd YouTube interview. It's kinda fun, the actor is sweet and seems into playing Chance. You can tell he really cares about the show. I wish the enthusiasm from TPTB at Y&R was mutual.
  6. 😂I guess I'm not the only one noticing this now. It seemed normal for Devon to be much smaller than Neil since he was his child. So we just got used to it. Devon was just....well....Devon. But now that the "tall blond" is his girlfriend, he's looking exceptionally short. Abby is already taller than him sitting down, add in her 4 inch heels once she stands up, and she towers above him. Even their sex scenes, though well choregraphed, look awkward. They are not the typical "pretty" soap couple. They remind me of a 50s Hollywood stereotype of the beautiful blond starlet on the arm of some old, bald, short studio head. Of course, Devon is not old, but if he let his hair grow in a little, and got rid of that mustache??? he'd look better. I don't understand why he shaves his head, it's a look only a few can pull off well. Shemar Moore, Telly Savalas, Dwayne Johnson, or Stanley Tucci etc. look great, Bryton not so much.
  7. +1 I had about 20 episodes on my DVR that I didn't get to over the holidays. I was going to delete them all, but then decided just to fast-forward them and only stop to watch the scenes with Chance in them. It was an excellent decision, and I'm now a Chance expert. Some young girl will not do, Chance needs an older woman to make him feel better, and get him through this tough time in his life. Sharon must jump on that handsome hunk of a man for all of us. Please Y&R, make it happen. 🙏
  8. Isn't everything, no matter how it's presumed to be expressed, an opinion on here? I wasn't triggered just puzzled to where it was coming from. I've never thought of Y&R as a supercouple kind of soap. Nikki & Victor of course , but they were apart quite a bit before this last decade or so. Maybe Nick and Sharon if they get back together?
  9. Well, I guess it’s just a new thought to me. I’ve never seen the idea about Abby and/or Devon being some sort of super legacy kids before. Ever since they sorased Abby, for the most part she’s existed on the fringes of both the Abbott and the Newman families. So much so I often forget she’s a family member. Victor involves himself into every little detail in Adam, Nick, and Victoria’s life. Whereas he’ll show up for one important day in Abby’s… maybe. Same with the Abbotts, I can’t count all the family meetings they have that don’t include her. Romance wise Abby tends to have one-night stands, someone else’s guy, or the men right before they leave Genoa City. She slept with Summer’s husband Austin, and Sharon’s boyfriend Scott Grainger. Short stints with Daniel Romalotti, Carmine, Zack Stinnett-the pimp in the prostitution ring, Alex Chavez, and Nate. She was engaged for a short time to Tyler Michaelson and Arturo. But there was never a thought they were marrying one of GC’s major legacy characters in the story. With Arturo, the story was about marrying a wealthy woman since he was a working-class man but nothing much more than that. When she married Stitch there didn’t seem to be any big fanfare about him marrying a prime legacy character. All her relationships seemed to be an afterthought rather than planned out like the other legacy kids. Except when it came to Chance. The most super legacy thing I’ve ever seen Abby do is marry Phillip Chancellor the 4th in the Chancellor mansion with both families there. That’s the only one that seemed on par, and treated with the same importance, as Nick, Victoria, Billy, Kyle, Summer, and Adam’s weddings given it took place during the height of Covid. Even though they ret-conned Devon to be Katherine’s bio-grandson to me he’s still Devon, just with money. The character didn’t all the sudden become dynamic or grow to be dynamic. I guess the ret-con was too late in Kay’s life for me to remember them as family, because they really didn’t get a chance to show that. Even after the connection was made, Katherine mainly spent her scenes with Cane, Jill, and Murphy. When she did have time with Devon, he was a jerk to her most of the time. I notice that the writers go the extra mile trying to magnify the connection, they are constantly placing Devon under the Chancellor Park sign in the park, and in front of her picture at his apartment, or have him talking about “HIS grandmother Katherine CHANCELLOR”. But that’s not the same as watching them day after day, for years, as family. Brock and Katherine had such a special relationship that was so heartwarming. They really felt like mother and son. ❤️ Mac’s entry story also focused on the relationship with her. Devon’s relationship seems to focus on that her last name was Chancellor, which rings so hollow for me. Neither Brock or Mac cared about that, and it just wasn’t a thing for them, they weren’t Chancellors. With Devon, the bio-connection seems to be for the sole reason of entitling him to everything she had, and everything with the Chancellor name on it, even though he isn’t one either. Devon’s a more important character now, but I guess I don’t see him as some sort of major or super legacy character that's more important than the others since 1) he wasn’t born on screen like the others, 2) he’s not of the same blood (Neil) like the others, 3) he didn’t grow up with, or even live with, his family (Katherine) like the others, and 4) his blood connection is a major ret-con, decades after the fact, unlike the others. His ret-con is sort of like Dylan with Nikki.
  10. I don't think it's big deal at all. Since there are so many Newman's and Abbott's these days almost everyone is going to get to marry one if they want to. It was significant back when Billy & Victoria got together because it was the first time offspring from the two biggest rival families married. But now we have Summer & Kyle, and Noah & Allie, too. We may have had Moses & Faith if they weren't cut. Same with money and companies. Gone are the days when there were 3 powerhouses, John, Victor and Kay. Today it seems like almost everyone is wealthy and/or in the "c-suite". Does it really matter if one character has two billion, another has ten billion, and another has 20 billion? There is nothing for any of them to aspire too really, they simply go back and forth buying each other and trading CEOs and COO's. They are all special and wealthy. Yawn. Giving Dominic six names is just trying way too hard. Just hearing his name makes me chuckle because it's so ridiculous, partly because the child isn't really a descendant of most of his own names. By blood he is a Newman, Davis, Hamilton, Shepard and a Hendricks...I guess. He doesn't have John Abbott's, Phillip Chancellor's, or Neil Winter's blood even though he has all their names pasted on him. Do I get to be future ruler of something if I name myself YRfan Gates Musk Bezos Buffet Walton? If anything I think it's rather sad that Devon doesn't have his own name on his own child. I guess Devon's Hamilton last name ( from a poor crack addict groupie) isn't prestigious enough to make the legacy supercouple cut? The writers are just too brand new with this Devon is Katherine's grandchild bit. Katherine having offspring is nothing new to Y&R. She had her son Brock around since the beginning in 1974. No one he got together with was ever thought to be a potential legacy pairing, he was just Kay's son. Same with Mac, also a grand child of Katherine. The way Bill Bell wrote it, the big heirs were from Phillip Chancellor. Kay didn't have any of those so she spent decades of her life trying to get them from Jill who did. Hence the 40 year rivarly.
  11. She did. Jill & Katherine attempted to take the company public 12 years ago and lost it to Tucker. You would think she would remember this but she seems to have no memory what-so-ever of that foolish mistake. None of this is the Jill I knew. She would never merge, much less risk going public, with the love of her life's company. She spent most of her 45 year onscreen life wanting everything Chancellor, and worrying about her offspring getting their rightful place in their families. But now she could care less about any of that. She has now become obsessed with Devon and Lily over Billy and Chance. She never even thinks of Philip Chancellor IV. Plot, plot, plot.
  12. I'd bet money she is a mole for Tucker. (Not a spoiler all speculation) This whole IPO deal reminds me of when Tucker stole Chancellor 12 years ago. Back then he set up a bunch of dummy corporations to hide he was buying all the stock. So I'm predicting TSJ, who will be a new very youthful Tucker, will steal CW. Of course he will end up giving it to his son Devon in the end since Josh Griffith sees Devon as a Chancellor even though he isn't a Chancellor, or a Reynolds, so I don't understand why he has divine rights to any company she inherited from her husband. But then JG wrote the whole baby story simply to give Devon's spawn Phillip Chancellor's last name, so whatever. I guess that's easier than building up the character of Devon Hamilton, just switch it to Chancellor and voila, the fact that he isn't one doesn't seem to matter.
  13. Of course it is, so is the merger. There is nothing in Jill's character that would ever do any of this. Jill should be running her beloved Chancellor Industries offscreen as Katherine did, but this whole convoluted mess of a story (merger and going public) is simply Josh Griffith wanting to take Chancellor away from Jill. Josh Griffith wrote Katherine's Will leaving Chancellor Industries to Victor for some reason, to disappear it into Newman Enterprises, but then he was fired. The next regime had Victor sell it to Jill, and Josh Griffith cannot stand being rewritten. I imagine he'll have his new de-aged 50 year old Tucker come in and buy all the shares, or Victoria.
  14. I'm good with anything that makes Chance lose some clothing. 🔥 Chance is the new Brad to me, they should never give him his shirt back.
  15. I'm positive she isn't, she's just always been a team player and would never ever complain or criticize. In her last interview with Michael Fairman she made clear she loves to work. Most actors do if they can, no matter their age. She's frequently on social media interacting with fans about the show. Her husband has been gone over a year, and she had to send her horses to end of life care, so she's up there all alone. Her other family was Y&R, but Josh Griffith won't use her so she losing that too . Jill was front burner for over 40 years and helped make this show what it is, but that arrogant ass of a head writer doesn't give a shit about her, or the millions of fans that follow her. It is his fault! You can see it in the way he does write for her when she comes...he writes NOTHING. I guess he can't be bothered. He has her bob her head and agree with the other characters, but she is not written into the story. He had Jill standing next to Chance and gave them no dialog. It's insulting, disrespectful, and a mean thing to do. Contrast the treatment she gets and compare that to the royal treatment and respect JG gives Victor and Jack. 🤬 All JG's writing and tone is sexist but with the older women he is downright horrific. JG used to work with Trevor St John on One Life to Live so I'm sure he'll pull out all the stops for him. Because it all about Josh Griffith's history, and what makes him happy, not the viewers who have followed Y&R for decades and the actors that help make this show.
  16. A bit younger? 😱 He's a full generation younger, 20+ years! He would be Sharon and Nicks age, in fact Sharon is a year older. I don't remember a soap de-aging a character a full generation before. That's not a common fluctuation at all. Tucker's whole existence is based on the fact he was born on the exact same day as Jill, that's why Jill was thought to be Kay's daughter for seven years. Tucker was born when Katherine had an affair with Judge Arthur Hendricks while she was still married to her first husband Gary Reynolds. When Y&R began in 1973, Phillip Chancellor & Kay were 8 years into their marriage. Given this is Y&R's 50th anniversary there is no way Tucker could be under 65 years old. Ashely/ED is 63. Is Josh Griffith going to recast a 50 year old Jill too? This really tics me off, this is the most sexist thing he could do. In addition to Jack and Victor, we now get ANOTHER old white man who's a billionaire. Meanwhile Jill who owns Chancellor Industries and Chancellor mansion, and has a son and grandson in Genoa City, is kept off canvas. 🤬 She's the only woman who could fill Kay's shows on the show, and Josh is filling it with another man. Some viewers of this show have followed Jill's character for decades, some for all 50 years. Jess Walton is alive and well, and said she would be happy to come back and do any stories he would write, and he uses her for cameos a couple times a year. Older female characters are treated like trash and old male ones are worshiped. Fuck Josh Griffith! He has no respect for how Bill Bell set up this show or women.
  17. I find that hard to believe since Brock joined the show back in November of 1974 and he and Katherine never discussed "his" father's company once. Brock was a lawyer, why wouldn't Katherine ask her own son to work there, or even have some sort of conversation about it? Instead, as soon as Phillip Chancellor III came of age, she immediately started having him mentored to take to helm at Chancellor. Phillip III "died" in a car accident because he was drinking with his executive buddies after closure of a successful Chancellor business deal. Why would the company be called Chancellor Industries if it wasn't Phillip's? If it was another name before that why didn't Kay change it back, or name it Shepard Industries after herself? She gave birth to Reynolds heirs not Chancellor heirs so why would she keep it in another man's name if it wasn't his? When you look at the early episodes of Philip asking for a divorce from Kay, Chancellor Industries isn't even mentioned. Phillip is not walking away from his job, or Chancellor Industries, it's clear he's just divorcing her. She would have done ANYTHING to stop him from divorcing her. If she owned the company, she would have used it against him. Y&R transcripts from 8/11/11 say Phillip started the company. Kay, Jack, and Ashley were having a fight about Chancellor Industries & Tucker’s company McCall Unlimited. The lawsuit was all about ownership of companies so why would they say “Phillip started Chancellor” if he didn’t? Ashley: You know what really gets me? You both know what it feels like to have a company you love ripped away from you, only it’s much worse for Tucker, because our father started Jabot, and Phillip started Chancellor, so basically, you both took over family businesses. But Tucker built McCall from the ground up, and you do not have the right to take it away from him. Kay: Ashley, now you listen to me. Whoever founded the company is immaterial to me The only other transcripts I can find is when Jack was thought to be a Chancellor in 2018. Transcripts 6/21/18 Jack: I'll tell you this. It was like a lifeline. Think of all the guys that could have fathered me, that I land on Phillip Chancellor. He's a good man, a great man, like John Abbott -- distinguished, accomplished, hardworking. Neil: And had a thing for Jill. Jack: [ Chuckles ] And it's a comfort knowing that I may be part of a family that I've known my entire life, a family not unlike the Abbotts. Look, if it's true, if I am Phillip's blood and part of his family, it also means I'm part of the Chancellor Empire. And why wouldn't I embrace all of that, too?
  18. Devon already got his 2 billion+ as one of Katherine's heirs. He has no right to Chancellor Industries. Katherine's will has was read years ago, and everything has been distributed. Devon got more than his fair share, he's not entitled to anymore. Jill is the sole owner of Chancellor industries. Katherine left it to Victor, over her own loved ones (which never made sense), and Jill bought it from Victor. So Billy, Phillip III, and Chance should be the heir apparents. The only reason Katherine had control of Chancellor is because she murdered Phillip Chancellor. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ps-ax4NW4A This company really should really be going to Phillip III and Chance, given they were robbed of their father/grandfather. Devon is NOT a Chancellor. Both he and his father Tucker are Hendricks. They came from an affair between Katherine Reynolds and Judge Arthur Hendricks. I don't understand why Devon considered himself a Chancellor today. He isn't and never was.
  19. When has experience stopped anyone in GC for taking a job at their family' company? 😆Lily ran a modeling agency, for like a year, that hardly prepares her to run CI. Not to mention she has a PRISON record. The public and shareholders love ex-serviceman in positions of power. It's a plus for most people on a resume. Chance's military experience, and his time at the Pentagon, is not nothing. He can be mentored into the job just as much as Lily can. At the very least Jill can produce a division for Chance to start with. If he has connections at the Pentagon, he could bring in some lucrative military contracts. If I remember correctly the character with the most action scenes on Y&R is Victor Newman... CEO of Newman Enterprises. He got more action than all the cops combined. So, dropping down from the air ducts might come in handy as CEO of Chancellor. Wasn't that over 10 years ago? Things have changed quite a bit. When he was working for GCPD, he got shot, which rendered him temporarily sterile, and on his last mission all of his teammates were killed. Those are life changing situations for many. Not to mention he is older and wants to settle down as a family man. Seems like the man is at a turning point in his life. I think almost every character has changed their mind numerous times. How many times was Adam, Victoria or Nick never going to have anything to do with Victor, or Newman again? Devon quit his job at Jabot that Neil set up for him saying the business world was not his thing and not what he wanted in life. Yet he's in it now. Chance is allowed to change too. Everything he said in his early 20s, or even last year, is not his fate for life.
  20. I sure hope so he is Phillip Chancellor the IV, and besides living in the Chancellor mansion there is nothing “Chancellor” about him. Instead of carrying on the Chancellor legacy by having Phillip Chancellor V he’s in a depressing tug of war over who’s going to spend the most time with Devon’s bio-kid. Is this supposed to be interesting? I have no desire to watch Chance raise Devon’s child. Chance was just the wrong character to pick to father some else’s bio-child because history tells us it’s HIS DNA that’s the prize not Devon’s. The police department is a dead-end job. So, if Victor laying the groundwork for Chance to get out of GCPD I’m behind him 100%. There’s nothing for Paul or Rey to do, what the heck would adding Chance accomplish? Chance’s bad luck at the GCPD (being shot), and almost being blown to smithereens on his mission should be a turning point in his life. He should welcome a change into business. It will be more exciting than issuing parking tickets and rescuing cats out of trees in Genoa City. I’m usually on Jill’s side but if this happens, she deserves it for ignoring the grandson of the man that she claims was the love of her life. Jill has spun herself in circles creating endless opportunities for Billy, what about Chance? Jill was so thankful to see him alive, but she offered him nothing in the way of future opportunities at her mega corporation that bears his name. She created subsidiaries specifically tailored for Billy why not Chance?
  21. This! Where is Jill when it comes to her grandson? She's been all about supporting Billy's career through the years, even creating companies and subsidiaries just for him. What about her grandson? Chance is Phillip Chancellor the IVth after all, why isn't she making a place for him at Chancellor? It's his legacy, and the guy is badly in need of a less dangerous job now. Didn't Lily say CI had a Engineering /Construction division? Why not start with that? Or start up a division that manufacturers military equipment for him. He has contacts at the Pentagon. The Jill I know would figure out some way to keep him safe at her company. Working for the GCPD is a dead end. There isn't even enough for Rey to do and look what's happened to Paul. The reason we are suffering with this stupid baby story is because Chance's swimmers were injured from being shot while working at the GCPD. So get him out of there! Neil set up the Hamilton Winters Group for them to carry on their own family legacy. Why isn't Devon doing something with that? You would have thought he would have invited Lily to join him after Neil's death. He's not taking care of his family like the Newman and Abbotts do by offering their heirs a job. Why would Devon have any interest in Chancellor? It's the legacy of a man who is not related to him. It's really Jill's, and the Chancellor heir's legacy not his. And he was Kay's grandson for all of 5 minute before she died. Kay gave him the extra $$$ to make his own imprint on the world. She never asked Brock, Mac, or Devon to even work at Chancellor, but was motivated to train Phillip III in, then Jill, and later hired Cane when he was thought to be Phillip III. Devon has been given way too much at a young age. He didn't have to fight to get any of it. Billions of $$$ from Kay, the GCAC, part of Society, Mergeron etc., and he has a future inheritance from Tucker that could come at any time. It all just lands in his lap. Jill, Jack, Ashley, and Victoria have worked decades for their business cred and I'd rather them pass that on to their own families rather than load Devon's plate up with even more. He's still just Devon.
  22. Step brothers? Tucker's bio-parents were Katherine and Judge Arthur Hendricks because Kay had an affair on her 1st husband Gary Reynolds. So she was Katherine Reynolds when Tucker was conceived and born, she hadn't even met Philip Chancellor II yet. Phillip IIl's bio parents were Phillip Chancellor II and Jill Foster. So do step parents work in in reverse? If you die -before you know your spouse -had a child -as a result of an affair -when she was in her previous marriage- are you considered a step parent of that child? My head hurts. 😵
  23. They are close in age too. NuNoah is 26 and NuChance just turned 29 a couple weeks ago. So now Chance is younger than Billy and almost a decade younger than Abby . But none of that matters, I ❤️ the look of this new Connor Floyd, I think he's the best looking Chance yet. Fingers crossed he can act.
  24. Not a spoiler; just total speculation/rumor based on certain members of the cast following each other recently ...so take with a grain of salt.... Conner Floyd could be the recast nuChance. I hope it's true I'm already in love cuz he's gorgeous. He has a demo reel on IMBd and he looks like he does comedy & drama well. https://www.imdb.com/name/nm7903324/?ref_=nv_sr_srsg_0 His Instagram https://www.instagram.com/p/CUqCjkFPAr-/
