  1. Finally got to some time to type some observations down... Nate has really done a 180 as far as impressions go on me since the first episode. I initially thought of him as slimy, immature, and possibly a player, but he somehow now comes across as probably the most mature man out of the three (not that Anthony is chopped liver...) He really is not only VERY mature for being 25, but a quite a solid gentleman indeed. He should be proud of himself. Cody has absolutely no spine, whatsoever. If he did, he would have divorced during the first "reunion" show. Regardless if Danielle actually was hot or nice or funny (and IMO, she really isn't any of these things, at least from what I saw), nobody should have to hold out for sex for that long in a marriage.. Hell, even the BIBLE agrees about consummation! She probably just wants a dog-sitter and not to come home to an empty house- or maybe perhaps someone to help pay the rent, too. If there wasn't some sort if financial incentive from the show's producers involved with them staying together, I'd be really shocked. Sheila probably has the nicest figure I've ever seen on this show. Now, if only she could "play nicer" during her arguments with Nate. I also don't think having "chocolate" is the biggest deal in the world- hell, I've never had chocolate, and I'm almost 40. Ive had a happy, fulfilling life, to each their own I guess. Anthony and Ashley are so cute together and overall both so well-rounded, it's almost boring! (This show is known for its DRAMA, after all).
  2. I think she was emotionally stunted at 19... Or whenever the rape had happened. She talked and behaved like a little girl THE WHOLE TIME, not just when her johns were on the phone. I found it even more disturbing that her mom drove her to one of her client's apartments (while saying the whole time that "she doesn't believe in prostitution,") not just that she drove her to dealer's. It's obvious they had her late in life, and this is probably why she was so isolated from other kids her age, because of her parents' own age in comparison to her friends'. I just had my baby at 39, and all I can do is hope she isnt isolated the same way as well.. They still gave her everything though, what a sad case for these parents!
  3. Yep, I just recently had my first (and probably last) baby at 39 in late April, and my husband is 19 years older than I. I was shocked to learn from the genetic counselor that not only his age matters too (because of mine), but being an Ashkenazi Jew not only raises the chances of other genetic disorders, but so does being pure blooded Italian (his side). Luckily, all the genetic tests came out negative, and our baby is a healthy, happy 6 week old! So it IS possible for both parents to be older and still have a perfectly healthy baby, but I honesty don't know what I would have done if one of the tests had come up positive for something. The parents on this show are more than just a little brave, IMO. I give them TONS of credit! Especially Kris, I may not like her personality either, but to me she seems to have it the hardest without a doubt.
  4. Mr. Runner Up has got to be the funniest mockumentary to come out since Spinal Tap! (Even if it is a lot shorter in duration)... especially the second part. I haven't lol'ed that hard since watching the very first episode of the series, the Gray Gardens ripoff. I personally liked that one mainly because I have always had such a fondness for both the original and the Emmy award-winning remake starring Lange and Barrymore, but boy, this was even more brilliant than that... and it didn't even play homage to any particular documentary as a whole! So many lines that are quote-worthy that I already can't recall. (Am eight months pregnant so my memory has gone in the crapper lately, but I digress). All I can say is well played, guys, well played!
  5. I hope you're not taking my words and others' out of context, because I never said that Debbi was acting immature for her level of attractiveness, let alone if she was/wasn't acting "motherly" or "nurturing" enough. Honesty, getting back to Hali as an example again, if SHE had thrown the same type of tantrums, I would call her out for acting immature for her age just as well. Really, anybody older than say the age of 7 (and that's even pushing it), shouldn't be ranting and raving during a challenge on how great they are ("Did you see me, Brad, did you see? I was the first person to get over the wall!!"). But yes, I would expect a person in their fifties, let alone twenties, to not throw a tantrum after THEY were at fault for losing a challenge, then blame it all on someone else while marching around camp like a bat out of hell just because they were anxious that THEY might be on the chopping block for losing. It really was grammar-school level pettiness on Debbi's part. As for your (or someone else's?) inquiry if there's ever been an older woman that's made it far or even won without playing a motherly/nurturing role... well I've got one word for ya: DENISE! I don't believe she was even a mother to begin with, if memory serves me right.
  6. Amen! I NEVER thought I'd be sympathizing with Brad of all people this season, but I gotta admit, he responded like a cool cucumber, as did the rest of the tribe. It's amazing how Hali is literally almost half Debbie's age, but ten times more mature. This isn't just about Debbi being crazy; she also lacks a sense of maturity for her age which is utterly astounding to watch.... I'd almost feel sorry for her, but I simply can't.
