THIS. I'll be happy for a good '2hr' story focused on getting Rufus back, ending with a hopeful 'the gangs back together again' vibe. But to somehow cram Lucy magically forgiving Wyatt -because ENDGAME 5EVAH OBVI (ugh)- for an entire season's worth of the shit he put her through + generally terrible decision making/bad behavior in all areas, is just NO. There is no way in hell they can pull that off convincingly in a 2 episode grande finale. So please, for the love of God, just don't even go there, writers.

Surprise, surprise. Twitter ruins everything. That said, the two most recent released scripts seem to indicate the writers are definitely/deliberately laying some groundwork for Garcy.

He tries to bust out of the bunker in 2.01 while copping an attitude with everyone (holy crap, the way he blatantly sasses his superior in Agent Christopher is mind boggling to me). He then goes AWOL after getting a random text and completely abandons his post and his team with no word whatsoever. And if that isn't enough, he then brings a totally unvetted civilian BACK to the secret bunker to see the top secret time machine -again, without clearing it with anyone- and then gives his superior agent more lip when she is justifiably not happy. I'm starting to think his favorite line is "then court marshal me" whenever anyone objects to his selfish and thoughtless actions. Yeah, he's in a sucky situation. But I do not feel that Wyatt's taken responsibility for his role in any of the fallout. Every time he's been met with some sort of criticism about the situation he's helped create, he's ready with 'I didn't ask for this' or 'you think this is easy for me?'. No, I'm sure it isn't. But regardless, your holding onto Lucy and trying to maintain your emotional intimacy with her while carrying on with your wife IS HURTING HER. So shut your mouth, listen to what she is telling you, man up, accept the consequences, and respect her choice for space.

I don't get where this impression is coming from that Flynn would leave Lucy in a heartbeat if he got Lorena and Iris back.? That's literally one of THE biggest differences between his and Wyatt's family situations. Flynn states point blank to Lucy in 1.10 that he would do anything to get his girls back but he would immediately walk away once he knows they are safe. He knows what he's become in chasing Rittenhouse, the levels he's sunk to, the horrible things he's done. He doesn't want to bring that into their lives. Flynn NEVER planned on going back to his family. The same cannot be said of Wyatt (obviously). That said, I loved everything about the Flynn/Lucy development this episode. There's just something deeper between them, and I find Flynn's fierce certainty in Lucy (what she, and they will become) compelling. I really dug the setting, vibe, and music in this ep as well. It was really nice to see Connor get a chance to spread his wings and get some development. And I cannot say enough about his bond with Rufus. That was some emotionally satisfying drama between those two. It's amazing how wonderful an episode can be when everyone gets quality character advancement. Wyatt 'Delta Force' Logan continues to confuse and frustrate with his inability to do his damn job and take the shot. You sure as hell didn't see Nicholas hesitate to pump HIM full of lead. Ugh. It's really rich to see him taking pot shots at Flynn when the latter admits he has no idea why Rittenhouse made this 1936 jump ('why do we even keep you around if you don't know anything?'), but then Wyatt directly FUBARs his own mission. He is now 0/2 for critical shots against high ranking targets.

@saber5055 - Flynn is from the current original timeline, same as all of our Time Team crew. He was born in 1975 in Croatia and has had a pretty well documented career as an Eastern European NSA asset. He was visited by a future Lucy who gave him the journal for reasons unknown, which set him on a mission to steal the Mothership and start guerrilla warfare against Rittenhouse. They are not related. His mother is Maria Thompkins and his father is Asher Flynn. Lucy's genealogy is pretty well documented too. Rittenhouse up one end and down the other.

You're not the only one, lol. Flynn is pretty much my main favorite and I love everything about his story and his connection to Lucy. The writers teed up a storyline with amazing potential in the journal and their mysterious relationship (whatever it may be) and I'll be very unhappy if they drop it. Here's the thing about Garcy that I love - everything they do advances plot somehow, and in a 10 ep season this is vital. This is not the case with Lyatt. Was I the only one in ep 3 going "seriously? We're gonna have another am quickie? ARE WE NOT ON A MISSION?!?" I feel like their scenes take me out of the flow of the episode and plot, often in a jarring way. Which leads me to Wyatt. How is it he gets to be this lauded "reckless hothead" and never face any serious consequences? Bringing your wife down to the bunker?! That's levels of stupid and insubordinate I can't even comprehend. But then again, Agent Christopher seems to tolerate his disrespect and flouting of the rules like it's nbd. I feel like "so court marshal me" is his new catch phrase to say after he does whatever the hell he wants. And now, in this new timeline where Jess is alive, it means Wyatt never hijacked the lifeboat and took an illegal trip to the 80's where he inadvertently whacked an innocent guy. How convenient for him to have that wiped from his record. I really like Jessica and I can only hope they do right by her in this stupid triangle. Poor Rufus. He continues to be the heart of this show, and his emotional plea to that Puritan judge really hit me. "Get away from me, man!" Ugh, break my heart. Poor Jiya, too. Those two are gonna have to work through this premonition issue somehow. They've always been a sweet, easy to root for couple, so I hope they can come out of this stronger. Overall this episode was hella fun and probably one of my favorites. Flynn brings a level of action and quick pacing into the mix that was sorely needed, imo. I love to see Lucy going darker as well.

Speculation without Spoilers: So is Wucy a Thing or Not?
Lieutenant replied to legaleagle53's topic in Timeless [V]
It's extremely lazy writing to make the ex evil, imo. (If that does turn out to be the case, I'm gonna start thinking that every other spouse in the freaking USA is a Rittenhouse agent.) And to that point, how unbelievably coincidental is it that her husband would then be the one lucky grunt assigned to the Time Team? Why can't Jessica simply be a sweet girl that Wyatt fell in love with and married? If the writers are so dead set on making Lyatt canon, I hope they don't take the easy way out in making Jessica the villain. If they really want me to believe this relationship is now Wyatt's shiny new future, it would feel way more earned and sincere if he had to face his all-American, girl next door wife (the admitted love of his life some, what, 2-3 months ago in canon?) and tell her he's not the man he used to be anymore. Making her Rittenhouse would be the cowards way out and a cheap, convenient excuse for Wyatt to drop the relationship like a bad habit. -
A few more things that have kinda stuck with me upon further reflection: Does the Time Team's treatment of Flynn not bother anyone else? I found them to be annoyingly sanctimonious , tbh. That's quite a bit of condescension to be tossing around when canonically Flynn is the one who has been right about everything from the start. Lucy's interaction with him also seemed way ooc to me. When last they parted, she'd given him the info he needed to make one last trip to save his family with the understanding that he was done after that. Then she's almost tearfully yelling that she's sorry and she didn't know anything about the setup and ambush. She even argues pretty scathingly with Denise over Flynn's treatment later in 1.16. Now she's suddenly running the tough act on him like it's nbd she's indirectly involved in his current incarceration and using his family tragedy as a stick to poke him with? That is something Lucy would have never done, imo. I love this show for the ensemble team element and the wonderful exploration of history. But when I watch a promo for the next episode, and all I can get from it is 'OMGZ Finally! Teh Kissing and OTP Feelz we've ALL been waiting 5EVAH for!" I find myself ill at ease. Two episodes in and I feel like the show is more focused on how many times they can (literally) throw Lyatt together to almost smash faces and then clockblock them. I had to search for the Canadian promo for 2.03 to find out what the actual historical plot is. I miss when the relationships were built into and around the history of each episode and developed organically over time. At this rate, we're all gonna be bug splats on the Lyatt windshield as it hurtles along with all the finesse of a monster truck run amok.

MORE FLYNN, SHOW. (He's being horrifically underused and it's starting to grind my gears in a big way now) Denise is really starting to tick me off with her executive decisions from on high. I feel like Lucy is going a bit OOC? When has she ever thought it ok to cuddle and giggle her way though a mission? I don't begrudge her fun times while on the job, but she seems really off the reservation in this ep. I don't have anything overly wonderful to say about Wyatt either. His fanboying was adorable, true. And tragic past ™ is tragic. I was feeling a major disconnect during that car chase scene. Woo fun times, I get it. Also, HELLO? They way you are driving you are going to blow everyone up at any second. Situational awareness much there, Master Sargent? I actually felt bad for Mr. Ritten-sleeper. That's the risk they take with planting agents, I guess. They might actually find they love their new lives more than the cause. Which leads to Emma. That woman is cold and I love it. She's an actual villain I can root again and appreciate. I don't doubt her resolve AT ALL. And I repeat MORE FLYNN, DAMMIT!

I was surprised at the grittier tone they took right out of the gate. But I'm really digging it. Rittenhouse did not come to play, they came to win. The new digs are delightfully cramped and dated. That's gonna make for some good tension and character building moments lol. Am I the only one that thinks they are riding this 'Wyatt/Lucy it's looooove' horse pretty damn hard? She just had probably one of the worst moments of her life in her mother straight up abandoning her (not to mention the kidnapping and emotional abuse and manipulations), so she's an emotional wreck. Poor thing, I really felt terrible for her through the whole episode. Not. Enough. Flynn. - something they better can rectify going forward. As of right now, he's the only one to have read the journal, successfully found a Rittenhouse sleeper agent, and likely knows about what's in the works. Don't bench him like that, show. Boohoo, Connor is having a Rough Time™. You're a jerk, Connor. You kinda deserve all of this, tbh. Flynn telling Denise to kiss his grits was perfection.

ohhhhh dear. Bless his well intentioned heart, I hope he doesn't let it eat him alive. Goran's not exactly the most social media savvy member of the cast, lol. And you know, I don't really think that's a bad thing nowadays. Twitter is just not good for anyone's health as a general rule. Oy.
-
fun compilation of interviews from the whole cast, but be warned, there are some major spoilers within. Goran is The Best. Can we keep him forever? Also, seriously relieved they aren't dropping the journal thread. That's one of the biggest mysteries for the show, imo. I honestly want to know more about how Lucy got the journal to Flynn and why, over Rittenhouse's evil plot of the moment ™. Garcia and Lucy's fated connection across time has me hella invested.
-
Longest promo yet, with just about all the cast getting some screen time. Ngl, I'm getting pretty damn pumped for this season to air. Almost there!
-
Initial critic responses to 2.01 seem to be pretty pumped and positive overall. No official write ups yet that I've found, but one can't help but be encouraged by the good reviews. :)

Definitely wanting more Flynn overall. They have set it up for some interesting dynamics between him and the Time Team now; assuming they bust him out and end up taking him on as a reluctant ally/attack dog. I have no idea how they are going to resolve the whole 'he believes Lucy sold him out' angle, but I'm here for it. And watching him kick Wyatt's arse never gets old, heh. From the historical angle, I really think Amelia Earhart would be fascinating.
