  1. I am way behind in watching this (obviously, lol) but I have to disagree with the comment that Beth would be going through menopause and look differently if she had a hysterectomy.  That’s only if you have a complete hysterectomy, which is rarely done unless you have problems with your ovaries.  If they leave the ovaries in, you go through menopause at the same time you would have naturally, it’s just harder to know when it’s happening bc you don’t have the lack of a menstrual cycle to give you a clue.  But a blood test will tell you.  Ask me how I know . . .

  2. Ha!  This discussion reminds me of driving around with my godson when he was about 4 and singing Nelly's "Hot in Here" at the top of my lungs, unconcerned about him being  in the back seat.  And then I heard a little voice pipe up "really jalady, you want to take off all your clothes???"  OMG, I was mortified about him telling that to his parents, LOL.

For those who don't know, one of the lyrics is "It's getting hot in here, so take off all your clothes; I am getting so hot, I want to take my clothes off".

  3. On Monday's show I loved what Sunny said: When you've been used to privilege, equality feels like oppression.  I've never thought about it that way before but she's right on point!

  4. Ladies, you may not like, or agree with, the law, but what Sunny was saying is totally accurate.  Most hate speech is protected by the Constitution.  Sucks for us as citizens, but there are plenty of laws on the books that I don't agree with too (e.g. - six week abortion bans).

  5. No Sunny, the governor doesn’t select the candidate to replace Santos.  They’ll have a special election and she plans to announce the date in 10 days.  So Joy’s preferred candidate still has a chance 😄

  6. Call me crazy but I actually liked the asymmetrical look of Alyssa’s shirt. 😂. It looked fine after the stylist fixed it, but I didn’t realize there was a cutout on the other side as well because her hair obscured it.

And Whoopi really doesn’t understand gerrymandering and how it may affect vote counting.  No, people haven’t figured out “a way around it”.  It’s a way for the minority to rule the majority by drawing crazy voting districts.  And yes, sadly, both sides do it.  I wish we really had a one person, one vote system.

  7. Ugh.  Chris Christie.  And yes, he’ll probably be making the rounds too. 🤬

I listened to Sununu and he used a lot of words and said very little.  Except when it came to guns.  Then it’s the same old, same old: “guns don’t kill people, mentally ill people kill people”.  With guns!!!  Why do they always forget that part???

  8. I have as much empathy as anyone for mentally ill and homeless people.  But if I was on the subway in NYC (or the Metro in DC) and a homeless man was screaming about being hungry and having nowhere to sleep, I’d head in the opposite direction ASAP.  Or try to get off the train.  And I think Sunny would too.  There’s empathy and then there’s danger.  I am not saying that young man deserved to die.  But let’s be real.  I think most of us would have our self-preservation instincts kick in and try to get away from the situation.

The ending with the teacher was lovely and I cried too.

  9. I’m sure Queen Camilla is sleeping better at night now, knowing Sunny has changed her mind about their relationship.  🙄  The whole situation is complicated, always has been and that’s life.  From what I’ve read, Diana was no saint either and the two probably should have never been married, but it happened.  I’m glad they showed the shot of Harry because I kept hearing about the feather, but I never saw it.  I overslept and missed watching it live, set the DVR to record the replay on CNN, and then Texas happened. 😢

I’m curious about what Alyssa planned to say at the end of the gun topic.  I’m far to the left of her on gun legislation, but she at least seems reasonable on the topic of gun owners rights/responsibilities.

  10. It’s not just custody that matters. It has to be custodial interrogation.  There was literally ZERO interrogation.  They offered him drinks and snacks and told him to wait for his parents before they asked him anything.  They tossed the confession for plot purposes only.  Not what would ever happen in the real world, juvenile or not.

  11. Yes, good point about the defendant not being at the retreat!  I meant to mention that.  And Lily says the defense attorney lied about her “share”.  I wouldn’t put it past her . . .

  12. OMFG!  Unless you’re in a dog park, keep your goddamn dogs on a leash, people!!!  Be they pit bulls or chihuahuas.  I’m so sick of hearing “my dog‘s friendly, s/he doesn’t bite “.  Do they have teeth?  Then they can bite.

And I’d award punitive damages in every. single. case. where an off leash dog attacked a person or another dog.  Because these owners purposely take their dog(s) off the leash.  I’m sure they don’t expect the dogs to attack, but they damn sure purposely have them off leash!  They’re breaking the law and a $500 punitive damages award may make them think twice the next time.

  13. The Law side was terrible, as usual.  Throwing out the confession was laughable.  There’s no requirement for a comfortable place to seat the suspect, and if he starts talking without any questions being asked, oh well.  Too bad, so sad.  And the judge made another ruling during the trial that made me wonder if she was on the take or just terminally stupid.  Not to mention, after getting the confession suppressed the defense suddenly switches to an insanity defense (meaning an admission of guilt) - with no notice to the court or prosecutor.  You can’t do that.  Watch some of the old episodes; that plot point came up all. the. time.  Maybe this should just be a detective show with a note at the end about what happened at trial.

But I did love Jack’s “Damn right I did!” when Nolan was debating who made the decision to charge the killer as an adult.  Lol

  14. I am unreasonably bothered by the fact that Ben didn’t bring out any forks with the dinner plates when he brought Mark dinner.  Napkins either (hello! pot pie crust will leave crumbs), but I kept looking for the forks.  Why yes, I am borderline OCD.  How did you guess? 😂

  15. Good for Sunny that her book is doing well on the Amazon list, but as someone who likes her and read her first book:  don’t buy it!!!  Her first book was awful.  Unrealistic plot points and lots of name dropping (about places, people and things).  Thank goodness for library cards.  But I’m sure we’ll be hearing about it all summer, including when they do their book suggestions.

Nice to see Debra and to hear Al’s doing well!  And her book actually sounds interesting 😁. Too bad the audience didn’t get copies of that one.

And Whoopi was NOT clear (surprise, surprise) about the writers.  Joy was right to jump in and point out that they usually do have writers.  I can’t believe that at her age she hasn’t learned the art of gracefully admitting she may have made a mistake or said something that could be misinterpreted.  But I guess when you’re a movie stah, you don’t have to do that often 🤣🤣🤣

  16. Very shallow comments, but the Lindsey/Danielle/Carl nonsense has already been covered:

Loved the yellow shirt Danielle wore to the housewarming party!!  But why did they lie about the date???  It clearly showed them leaving the house on Sunday, August 7th, which would make Wednesday the 10th.  And when they were going back it was Friday the 12th.  So why lie that the party was on the 11th?  And drag Carl’s mother into it?  Either have the party on the 11th or mention that it was a sad time of the year because the next day would be Lindsey’s birthday and the day he found out his brother passed.  Sheesh!  Hard not to believe all this “reality” is scripted 🙄

  17. I don’t think they were dismissive of his age.  Their points were: intruders don’t usually knock and he had options other than shooting the teenager.  Ask “who is it?”, ignore the door if you’re not expecting anyone (I do it all the time if I don’t recognize a car in the parking lot), or call the police.  But I do get bluegirl147’s point that option #3 may have come with its own danger for the young man.
