  1. Although I hate hearing that Goddam Motherfuckin Turkey In The Straw, I heard this new jingle on tv in an interview and it's no better than hearing a very short electronic loop when you are on hold. What a disappointment. As an aside, when I lived in Greenpoint Brooklyn, the ice cream truck didn't come around until after 11 at night. No, in all those years I never went out to that truck.
  2. If the pandemic keeps Conner off screen then that's one good thing to come from the restrictions.
  3. Right? He def looked more manly and more attractive. I thought he was good looking before, but much too gaunt. But that white get-up on Chelsea? All the choices made her look more manly than ever. But not in an attractive way. Are the actors doing their own hair and make-up?
  4. Between "Trunk or Treat" and the virus, it's basically cancelled. Just buy a bag of mini candy bars and watch Dracula all alone.
  5. I binged on those twins and their First Time Listening vids the other night. So cute.
  6. Glad to hear all is well. You were missed! Oh, boes, you're on a roll! So now Phyllis is officially a bone smuggler? Sneaking into the construction site and pranking them with bones is just too utterly ridiculous. I can't even break it down with questions because every smother forking aspect of it is totally absurd. I am picturing Phyllis on all fours with a giant mastodon bone in her mouth, digging with her paws and the dirt flying everywhere. And I know that's no more ridiculous than how ever they explain how she did it. If they even bother.
  7. Lily was particularly terse and annoying. The only good part was the three Abbot siblings. So ChanceCom has nothing to do with Chance Chancellor, right? I thought it made him even cuter.
  8. Has anyone been to the B&B board lately? That's a good place to look for her.
  9. Sorry, but I have to say, this icon sucks. I couldn't tell what it was at first even knowing it was supposed to be a face mask. I should design a better one.
  10. Ya know, Victor's evil is annoying. (Yes, meant both ways.) Who was that really evil guy on that other soap, James Stenbeck? Someone like that. Oooh, the guy who sang "Chelsea two point oh-oh-oh", played by Ray Wise. He would be a welcome return and he can dial up the evil to eleven. Just as long as he stutters!
  11. What @Cupid Stunt said! I enjoyed reading your posts.
  12. Wasn't it cool that Uhura was his mom? But I do think I remember conversations between the good brother and the bad brother back in the early days of Neil and Malcom where Neil talked about their parents disappointment in Malcolm. I assumed that they had the same two parents but either they always had different moms and I forgot or there was some retcon going on. I'll have to check Soap central. ETA: Here's what Soap Central says about Malcom's parents: Parents unknown names (Malcolm and Neil have different mothers)
  13. I know this post is from a while back now, but I'm just catching up and I want to say I have never liked that awful movie and I always hold it against Jimmy Stewart. It was David Peel's birthday this week. Here's a catchy oddity. Some techo musicians sped up his vocals and made a new song out of it and he got a gold record for it. Not my kind of music, but trippy nevertheless, and always good to expand your horizons.
  14. I have Comcast as well. I'm never sure if the problem is them or cbs. But I got to see it and thoroughly enjoyed it. I really liked Damon and Phyllis as a couple. I guess I was the only one. And I liked them and Daniel as a family unit. I was disappointed when he basically up and left one day. What I didn't like was that they were living in the apartment that Jack got for Phyllis and himself. It really just seemed wrong that she stayed in it after screwing him over again even though Jack was gracious about it. What I remember about the time of Lily's paternity saga, Phyllis and Malcom were besties and her allegiance was to him.
  15. For whatever reason, (I think I saw a clip), I was expecting to see the Sheila sets the house on fire with her mother and Lauren tied up inside episode today. Phooey, it's not. I was so disappointed I had to change the channel. I hope it airs tomorrow. I was hoping for an entire Sheila week, to be honest. Now that new eps are coming back next week I guess that ship sailed. And I have to say, most of the current actors/characters really are a let-down after all the better retro episodes. Edited to add - Dammit! I missed it. It was Tues. Hopefully I can see it On Demand. I checked Tuesday night, and from what was available there was no description of that episode.
  16. And I'm sorry, but no way in hell did anyone, (aside from Katy Perry), request to see that stupid episode of Katy Perry at Useless Pile from the worst days of Y&R. That had to be simply to promote her new album. Well, haha, I'm not buying it. Waste of a retro day.
  17. I purposefully did not watch it the first time it aired. And I did not watch it this time. Nuh-uh. I am way too squeamish. Didn't Mikey start digging through the wall with a spoon at first? I definitely remember a spoon. I remember OG Jill, (after BD left and then came back, and since Jill had been through a lot she became bitter & conniving so I always thought of her as the 3rd Jill at this point in time, and although there were a couple of short lived Jills other than DA they all count as the 2nd Jill to me) ahem, anyway as I was saying, I remember Jill trying to hang curtains to induce a fake abortion for her fake pregnancy but Mamie caught her! At least that's what I recall. Now, was I seeing things or was that Bobby Marsiano as a waiter in the opening scene at Dru & Neil's reception at Mrs.C's?
  18. Snapper's baby mama that Pierre married was Sally the waitress, who was also in the first episode. To add insult to injury, Peggy married Steve. Remember Steve? Paul's oldest brother, older than Father Todd, and completely forgotten. But while Peggy and Steve were still on the show and their families still remembered them, Peggy had a helluva scene trapped in a basement and covered in rats. I remember being horrified as a youngster. And I think I still would be today. Man, it was great seeing those eps today. What a treat. This is the show I got hooked on. And I floved Jill back in the day. I always rooted for her back then.
  19. Oh jewel, I'm so sorry for your loss. It does not sound like you caused her passing. It sounds like you kept her alive much longer than she would have lived without you. Try to remember all the good times because no one, animals included, wants to be remembered any other way.
  20. Today's retro ep with the reveal of Michael's father... what a poor choice for the actor. I always wished that William Windom would have been cast at Michael's father. And he would have played the hell out of it and brought so much to whatever lackluster writing he was handed. And been believable. This casting has always been one of my biggest Y&R regrets. I know this may sound surprising and WTF, but, this is just this viewer's personal opinion.
  21. I'm not in Gotham City where it's horrendous. Where I am it hasn't been too bad except for last night. Hopefully that was it. Edited to add: Oooops, I spoke too soon. And it's not even dark out.
  22. Thanks, but it's not the allergy factor, it's the fermented factor.
  23. Well, I'll throw my potato salad into the ring, just for variety here, so duck! Haha! I have a lot of food intolerances, allergies and sensitivities. No vinegar for me. I didn't always know I had these issues so I used to eat "normal food" and of course I miss it. So I wanted potato salad this summer and here's how I currently make it. (I was going to list it out like a normal recipe, but I can't do a return with a single line and that's annoying me. And it's not like anybody's going to follow my recipe anyway. So here we go...) Boil a small amount of peeled and chopped potatoes in one pot and 4 eggs in another. (I boil organic potatoes in spring water and the free range etc eggs in tap water.) While they are boiling, dice 2 stalks of (organic) celery and 1 large jalapeno and add them to a large bowl with a lot of EVOO and some pink mineral salt (salt to taste) to marinate. Once boiled, drain the potatoes and add them to the bowl, mix very well. Then peel and chop the hardboiled eggs and mix them in, well but not to the point that there are no bits of yellow chunks. I like to serve it warm, but it's good cold also. Gluten free, soy free, grain free, dairy free, fairly low oxalate, sugar free... nothing fermented... and it tastes good to me.
  24. Happy Solstice to you, too! I dislike summer so much I forgot to stand my eggs on end.
