  1. I have been listening to stanky legg all day.  Alexa must be judging me so hard.

I wish my obit said I did the best stanky Legg.  I only heard that song once in a club setting and I had no idea it was an actual dance so whatever my legs were doing it was not stanky.

So glad this show is back.  At first I wasn't into the episode but by the end I was so into it again.

I know I'm wrong but i kinda wish new Molly would find her way back to Andrew.

  2. I'm not sure if you can get a JD in a particular subject (I haven't heard of it in California).  But an LLM in taxation is known as one of the few LLMs worth having so I'm sure that program is tough and extremely boring.  Georgetown is also, IIRC one of the top law schools that has a part time program.

I can't believe Wendy is selling those candles for $45.  I'm going to see if someone linked the site, because I just cannot believe it.

LOL, did you all know Wendy is also an interior designer?  Why is she hiding that degree?

Wow, she is really selling those candles for $50.  There is nothing to even suggest why the price is so high.  There is nothing about why the materials are special and the fragrance top and base notes are basic as hell.  White tea and Aloe? For $50? She explains that the fragrance oils are "handcrafted" and "specially blended" or some such nonsense, but this goes for literally any candle.  Fragrances are often blended and mixed by human hands.

She is apparently sold out of a few of them.  Jo Malone sells candles that are more expensive, but its Jo freaking Malone.

If any of you purchase, please let me know if the fragrance it out of this world.  These candles sound basic as hell to me.

My immigrant mother is still ashamed to this day that I went to law school instead of medical school. She also constantly reminds me that I used to be a size 2 and now (at 37) am much bigger.

That being said, Wendy was totally trying to exploit her mother for ratings. I am sure her parents pressured her to go into certain fields but you have to get beyond their narcissism. Yes, they want their children in prestigious fields and schools but it is not like having drug-addicted parents that abandon you.

Also, Wendy...I like you...but you have lost your Hopkins gig and now are peddling candles on a reality show. You obviously are making your own decisions because your life is not anyone's idea of prosperity or dignity.

You are lucky that your lawyer husband stepped in and made your half/ass plan a reality.

Speaking of exploiting mothers...Mia, putting your mother on a reality show is not a good way to support her sobriety. I can't imagine the terrible issues you have with abandonment but a show like this is not a place to work out real demons.

Gizelle's daughters are amazing. Why is Gizelle pretending like she and Jamal just had some minor misunderstandings and their love for each other will never die? The man humiliated you horribly in your marriage and abandoned you at the reunion. He is a piece of trash and even your lovely girls know this is true. For you to even pretend to be in a relationship with this man screams low self-esteem.

G and Michael are both perverts but I do believe G actually loves Mia and this is what triggered Ashley. She usually does not go off on people like that.

I do not think Ashley's marriage will last much longer. She might think she will be set on child support payments but a shady character like Michael always has a bunch of tricks up his sleeve.

I agree with every single word of this post.  Except your mom's....sheesh!

What the hell is Mia doing having her mom on the show?

Two weeks ago Mia wouldn't shut up about how a 'yo momma joke from Candace could make her mom relapse.

And here she is, relaying an entire fight and fallout on national TV.  Blow by blow, because hearing how bad a grandmother she was and how she handled everything wrong and ruined her daughters anniversary definitely won't make her relapse like a random comment from a stranger will.

I also think the two of them are likely super picky about their kids.

Mia's mom, according to Mia, is a live in nanny for her younger sister's children and she makes beds and everything.  So, it seems like she can be trusted with those kids.  But if she is asking for what the kids can eat and do, its probably because she is really trying to do her best and wants to check everything with Mia and G before she makes a move because she doesn't want to be called out on national TV.

To me it seems like a fair degree of pearl clutching about Rhonda not answering the phone.  If it was the two youngest, I'd TOTALLY understand.  But the older one looks about the right age to have a phone so that Gordon could call him and ask what grandma was up to.  If they just got into a fight, Rhonda may not have wanted to talk to Gordon right away.  Gordon is not an easy man and it may be part of the reason Rhonda doesn't want to spend a lot of time there.

They left the kids with Rhonda during their trip with the girls and she didn't call 15302 times, so I don't see what the issue was.  Gordon IS the parent, it shouldn't be such an inconvenience for him to field calls from a woman who is trying to make sure she is doing the best she can.

Shut up, Ashley! So proud of your struggle situationship and trying to shade others when your husband's heart belongs to Juan Dixon.

Adolescent rebellion is so real. If you want your children to do something, model the opposite. I loved seeing how pretty and put-together Gizelle's girls looked while standing next to their mother who was wearing ripped jeans that make her legs look like sausages and an ill-fitting top (and the too-small bra beneath it). I salute whoever taught those babies how to put themselves together.

"It's been fifty years of struggle." Whoa. I don't need Karen to come for Gizelle anymore. Just send Giz's daughters. Everything they say is true and she'd receive it better. I'm starting to root for that vampire, though. I hate that EveryHue appears to have been permanently shelved.

Gizelle, IMO, is again modelling bad behavior with her revisionist history of her Jamal relationship.  "Its my fault because I was emotionally unavailable"  Stop it, Gizelle.  You could have been as emotionally open as a kite and that toad was going to cheat on you.  You didn't just take a beat and think about it and decide that Jamal wasn't the one.

You were publicly humiliated and blindsided on national TV.  I do not believe you when you say that Jamal told you "everything"  he was doing, you're not that good an actress.

Yes Hunty ! Michael definately got a 'hard On" talking about Juan . Ashly knows it too ! Lol !!!

That was so weirdly gross.  Not only did Ashley have to kiss Michael to stop him from talking about Juan, but then she had to blindfold him because she didn't want to remind him that she isn't Juan.

There are very few times I feel anything but disgust for Ashley, but that was a rare instance.  Her husband is so disrespectful and disgusted by her.  He has no regard for her feelings.

Michael HAS to know that the popular opinion is that he is in love with Juan Dixon.  Instead of even pretending to like his wife on camera, Michael instead took the opportunity to embarrass her by talking about Juan.  Ashley literally brought a poster to her vacation as some sort of proof her husband likes her.  He won't even play along.  He just doesn't care.  I think he knows and is almost mad at her for the rumors.  He is such a weirdo.  Robyn better check her brake lines before driving her car.

  11. cannot wait for G and Michael Darby to be on the same stage at the reunion.  I was all set not to watch it because Nikki Minaj has some role in hosting it and not only do I not support her, I'm fairly certain she will do a terrible job.

But I look forward to a G and Michael Darby showdown more than anything having to do with candles or Robyn or Wendy's plastic surgery.

It's such a perfect match.  G is almost as creepy as Michael Darby and he is the perfect nemesis.  A black man who is rich and mouthy.  Its Michael Darby's worst nightmare.  None of his Karen tricks will work on G, because G has enough passive income not to give a shit.  I'm not entirely sure he even wants to be on the this show, and may just be doing it for Mia.

OMG, I know men like that, it is always about sex, sex they are having, sex they are not having, about how fantastic they are at sex, etc...when you call them out on it and ask them to stop with all that then they zero in on you, putting you and your sex life in the spotlight and try to embarrass you. Those men are creepy, how do their partners deal with that, it is the opposite of sexy.  We all know G had whiskey dick that night so there is that, how much sex did he have with Mia, lol.

Mia is in it for the money so I guess she cares not about how G comes across to the others.

Also, Mia went to sleep in sweats but appears in the kitchen in a skimpy teddy and sheer robe...she tries too much.

G is weird in that way, because when he talks to Mia alone, he seems supportive, like of her situation with her mother, or how she feels about the women, and though he never wanted to be there in the first place, its cool that as soon as Mia wanted to leave he was ready to go.  He asked her about Candace and appeared to listen to what she said without interruption, and no discussion of his penis or sex.

So, I'm not sure if this is who G feels he needs to be to impress these guys, or if he is just putting on a show the rest of the time.  He is weird and creepy, but I cannot fully hate anyone who is coming for Ashley.  Well, I could, but I'd at least give hm the benefit of the doubt.  My dad sometimes does what G does and makes fun of someone who is "weaker."  Ashley has no husband there, she doesn't really have any friends because G and R are boo'd up and no one is that close to her.  When my dad does it, I think its a sign of insecurity and the fact that my dad grew up just trying to survive mentally, emotionally and financially, and so I feel the mentality is to go at people before they come at you.  Or to make someone else the target so that you're not the target.  And I think he may be insecure and thats why he goes with all the dick talk because he thinks that the guys find it funny.  But people aren't laughing with him, they are laughing at him.

  15. Trust and believe, if the Ashley Darby "difference without a distinction" tour comparing Michael and G hasn't started already, it will soon.  I'm sure "aggressive" will worm its way back into Ashley's vocabulary, and probably with some effect.  I'd actually like Michael and G to meet, because G may be the one guy who even approaches Michael levels of weird and creepy, but he is also is plenty rich and doesn't give a fuck, so he probably won't be kissing Michael's pasty, misshappen ass

Also, G picking on Ashley just makes me like him because I can't stand Ashley.  Ashley can miss me with her outrage, remember when your weird ass husband loomed over Gizelle at the reunion trying to intimidate her?  Now you want to clutch pearls because the man made fun of your for catnapping in the middle of the day?  Maybe just laugh it off.  .

I think Wendy has Gizelle's number.  Gizelle wanted a moment and didn't get it at night, and then played victim when Wendy called her a liar the next day.  The only one who seemed angry was Gizelle.  I'm pretty shocked they showed up the next day, when Monique planned that trip last season and Robyn was even late coming downstairs, Gizelle used that excuse to miss the activities for the entire day since she didn't want to hang out with Karen and Monique, but wanted to hang out with Robyn.  IIRC, the only thing they did was sit and have crepes so I wonder why they didn't stay away this time?  Maybe because they both need a moment.

Mia is doing too much, too fast.  Its fine to have inaccurate information, but its happened twice now too soon, and at this point, I don't see why the women should ever trust what she says.  But that exchange with Ashley from next week sounds rehearsed but hilarious.

I mean, noble in terms of how he twists certain actions to excuse his kills. But he isn't killing these people because they're bad; he's killing them because they're in his way, or he thinks he's doing the right thing. He killed Ryan so he could be with Marienne. He killed Jasper in season 2 because he was extorting Joe.

Sure, some of his kills were "noble", I guess. But most of his kills only present as noble, but he's not doing them out of nobility; he's killing people because he enjoys it. You can twist anything to make it seem like a person is deserving of death. Take Beck, for example. Yes, she wasn't necessarily a good person but she died because she didn't return Joe's love. She died because she had the audacity to say no and was going to turn him in. Her death wasn't noble in the slightest.

But to me, the point is better made if he didn't tell kinda objectively shitty people.

When Love killed Natalie, it was because she got her in her, and yes when Joe killed Ryan, it was because he got in his way.

Natalie was "kinda flawed" by Ryan was just an awful guy.

I think Penn's EP designation is more vanity than creative. (And I don't use vanity in a bad way.  It's a way to give actors a larger stake in the show but it doesn't mean they have much creative control. )

Penn is very vocal about how he doesn't want you to cheer for Joe or romanticize him. I think it makes him uncomfortable when people do.

I can't say much more without talking a bit about the books.   I'll put a briefish vaguely book thought behind spoilers.

      Hide contents

I think the show adds backstory to add content.

I also think that Joe narrates the book and everything that happens in the book.  If we hate a character it's because Joe hates the character.  Actions and words are literally filtered through Joe's mind before we receive them.

With the show, they're not.  The show has more of an 'objective observer' quality to it.

Thank you for the spoiler, that actually makes sense.

That's why he asked his employee for her facial-recognition algorithm: So he could start ruling people out and concentrate on the ones who had seen/been with Natalie the day of her disappearance.

What was redeemable about Ryan? He was still doing drugs, he was in cahoots with the judge, he got full custody of his daughter by lying, and he was taking her across he country away from her mother. I'm not saying he deserved to die, but he wasn't a good person.

Joe gets the focus because it's his show. I don't mean than in a flip way, but of course he'll get the plot loopholes, especially when there's another season on the way.

I think Badgley tries to make sure Joe doesn't get romanticized.

I don't know why I made that comment?  I agree with you Ryan sucked from start to finish.  Maybe I was tired.

It’s actually chilling how Joe uses that to have power over his victims even in death. He gets to control the narrative right to the end: the fake Facebook travel posts with Candice, Peach’s “suicide” note, using Beck’s manuscript to frame Dr. Nicky, and now penning Love’s suicide note to make sure everyone knows she’s the only villain and he’s the victim. And as of now, nobody seems to question it (and survive). They all just accept it and move on with their lives. It just really hits home how disposable all the dead girls are once they don’t live to his ideals.

Whether it not you preferred Love to Joe, it’s another disappointing example of how psychotic/stalker female characters get called out and punished for their behavior more than male stalkers do. Love dies and Joe escapes. Again.

I think this is an interesting point.  I hadn't thought about it from a sexism perspective, but I remember seeing that Penn Badgley was a producer and wondered if he had any say in the script or the storyline.

Because he was presented in a far more sympathetic light than Love, IMO.  And mostly because nearly every death or "bad act" could be tied to her impulsivity.or "craziness."  Joe had held back with Natalie and was trying to do the right thing, but Love went crazy and then they had a body on their hands....her fault.

Love got mad at Gill and hit him in the head with a rolling pin.  Now they have a body on their hands because Love is impulsive and crazy (and I enjoy how using her name in this context is a statement above love itself).

Love decided to impulsively and stupidly talk about how Joe forced her to kill Natalie in the middle of some swing session with their neighbors.  That's Loves fault.

Love decided to hit some poor, dumb kid who was in Love with her and kill him.  Another body on their hands that is Love's fault.

Joe is presented, even on the show as having flawed, but noble kills.  Ryan pretty much, right?  There was not a single redeemable thing about that character until the very end.

I hadn't considered sexism (though, "impulsive woman" is familiar) but more than Badgley may have had some role in helping to shape the narrative.

7 minutes ago, Chaos Theory said:

What I actually did like about this season is the alternate trajectories the show takes with the characters.  Joe (and to an extent Love) become less complicated as each episode goes along.  They are simply killers who will always fall back into old habits because they are incapable of real growth.     While all the side characters (most notably Sherry, Cary, Theo, and Matthew) all start out as cardboard tropes but by the finale almost look like characters that could front their own series.     It’s the irony that Joe can’t exist in the suburbs because he isn’t a real person while I hated Sherry during the pilot but I was glad she survived warts and all at the end.

What an interesting point.  Love, at the end, became real one dimensional ("we can make it a murder/suicide" "here is a gun, one of you is getting out").

But I agree, in the first few episodes, I wondered when Sherry and Cary were going to die and was hoping for something particularly gruesome.  But I really liked them both by the end.
