I was thinking about that and it's really a waste for Ryan Eggold. It's like he's being held by a contract when he might be able to move on to another show. He could be valuable in something like Taken, Blindspot, a new detective for SVU or one of those new dramas on CBS.

I know this is the wrong episode to bring this up, but a few episodes ago Red was on the verge of death and Mr. Kaplan was thought to be dead. If that was the case and the whole point of him being in Liz's life is to protect her, is Dembe the backup? Also, I'm feeling conflicted about my enjoyment without Tom. This is probably due to the popularity he has with some of the other viewers. I was never a fan of Tom's. I just realized he hasn't been on the last few shows and I'm not really noticing that he's missing. He's actually being wasted on TBL even when they try to include him in the storylines practicing his skill set.

So true, they're only shown for eye candy. Fortunately most of the actresses that appear on here find work on other shows. They've finally figured out they'll only be used at the writer's whim and they make the scripts up as they go along so no need to wait for another guest appearance. This was funny and it did seem out of character for an impatient man that went as far as to hang a man by his ankles over the roof of a tall building in an earlier season. Yeah, I can't hate the kid that grew up in Hollywood and knows how to play the game. They chew up actors and spit them out like they're nothing. One minute they're the new up and coming star, the next they're a has been that is reduced to doing guest appearances in crap movies, weekly television shows, and soap operas. I remember Sharon Stone saying she knew she was rock bottom when she was on weekly network show putting on a cheap pair of Legg's pantyhose you could buy at the local grocery store.

At the time I was thinking he was in really bad shape when they brought him into the ER. I would expect big strong Navy SEAL Sam to get out of bed, but I did think it was funny that Deeks was able to accomplish it.

Nobody is perfect and mistakes happen. I don't think anyone should be blamed. The whole plot made Michelle's kidnapping and death possible. She came out of seclusion to question someone from her CIA past. Sam went straight to a case and left her with the car to drive home. She was unarmed and her guard was down giving them just enough time to grab her. They all did everything they should have done. They just didn't get there in time. I'm not a fan of any particular one, but didn't Deeks get tortured or lose teeth for not giving Michelle up a few seasons ago? He even left the hospital to go help Sam save her.

I agree. Besides that they have so many people on the show they really don't get that much screen time. In season 3 they added more characters and changed the dynamics of the show. Since then there are so many different characters it's not like they can fit them all in. He also has a child and his only living parent on the mainland so I don't blame him for wanting 5 episodes less a year. They film 25 episodes a season so it's not like the whole 10-15 minutes of screen time he's given on a 42-45 minute show is a big deal.

The actors in interviews before don't seem to have a problem with it. I'm sure they wouldn't mind pushing the network envelope, but TPTB will NEVER go there. I think that's why the actor's ham it up so much to the point of ridiculousness.

I'm sure the homeowners will be delighted to come home from work and see a big Silverado is occupying their living room, before they notice all of those bullet holes. Apparently no one that watches this show understands just how incompetent HPD is and I'm not sure how any cases got solved or crime was controlled before 5-0. Their incompetence is why Danny chose to call Steve who didn't seem like he could possibly be closer than any HPD patrol units. I even noticed last week that the SWAT team that Lou so competently led is now incompetent without him. Also I think Duke's complete arsenal and squadron are only available if Steve is in danger. It's not reserved for any other members of 5-0, especially Danny.

I agree with what you said. It tickles me to see people that know what Red is capable of and disregard it like Glenn. I even liked the episode last season when Red had the camping couple so frightened they sang a camp song only to have Dembe tell Reddington, "That's enough!". I think shipping is better reserved for shows like Once Upon a Time, Grey's Anatomy, Scandal, and The Catch. Sometimes they take away from the mystery, crime, or action from a drama. I too think it was filler, because the writer's refuse to reveal the true nature of the relationship and build on it from there. They've said that revealing it is the end of the show. I really think they sat around trying to figure out ways to stretch the show out for more than 2 full seasons, which has caused the ratings to drop by adding all this filler. This week's story was just that, but it did serve a purpose and at least we learned a little bit more about the enigma that is Mr. Kaplan.

Glen makes everything better! Even his lackadaisical attitude when dealing with Reddington is amusing. I appreciated Aram's shower scene. No wonder Janet went back. Samar really waited way too long to figure out what she was missing. Never underestimate the sweet, kindhearted computer geek with a crush on you. The man underneath it all might just surprise you.

She was on Training Day with Bill Paxton and was unavailable for filming. She'll be on the season finale of 5-0. -

I no longer have cable and I'm watching antenna on a HDTV, trust me when I say she really does look like she could be Tom's mother when they show her up close. At first I thought the same as you. She still has the youthful thinness, but she looks as if she's had every type of filler, chemical peel, and face tightening treatment they offer in Hollywood except for plastic surgery. -

I still like Howard more, but it's probably because I like Terry O'Quinn so much. Someone posted this on another episode, but can you imagine him playing opposite Christine Baranski? Can you imagine Christine Baranski playing her role alongside James Spader on TBL? It would have been a totally different show, I imagine I would have cared about the younger characters even less. -

Everything you just posted! I was wondering if I was the only one that thought it could have been more age appropriate when Steve said his grandfather served with the young ladies. I was thinking that since she was young enough to be Steve's daughter her grandfather or one of his children must have had a late in life child. Oh and one last comment. I can't be the only one that thought as Adam ate the potato chip filled sandwich his wife made for him he had to be thinking, "I really love you Kono. OMG! I'm so poor now! I can't begin to imagine what it must be like to have all that education earned and wealth disappear. -

I was right and it was a mercy kidnapping. Both of his parents are awful! As a matter of fact I was hoping it would turn out that Tom wasn't their son. I really wish they would have done this spin off when TBL live ratings were higher. It's a fun show. The end kind of reminded me of TBL when it first began. Of course, I suppose over time it gets difficult to create constant intrigue on show that has over 20 episodes a season. -
I remember that Callen was set up on a real blind date with Joelle. He really liked her and he felt guilty about lying as to what his real career was since she was a nice person and a school teacher. He knew that he would either have to be honest or break off the relationship, but he really liked her and the normalcy she projected. Eventually he had to reveal who he really was and felt bad about lying. All that aside, they are still in the same line of work. She's just better at it than he is. I suppose the problem is that except for the fact that she was a wife and mother of a 3 year old it kind of makes her seem so different from the kindhearted school teacher he felt bad about initially deceiving. I guess Callen's problem with this is based on how guilty he felt about lying to her at the beginning of the relationship thinking that it was real. I hope we never see her again, but who knows.

It's a concern where I'm from and people have gotten shot before over something as silly as a parking space.

The Blacklist: Redemption - General Discussion

Sorry, don't completely do that. Lol. Her name was Joselin Reyes not Torres. Honestly, none of the characters is truly likeable. This includes Tom. Unfortunately, like TBL, they have one character that really stands out. That character for me is Solomon simply for his witty delivery of lines much like Reddington. Redemption is not that bad, it's just no different from several of the shows currently on tv and at least couple of them are on the same network, so the characters are going to have to be more likeable or mesmerizing to stand out. I'll admit although he is evil, I'm only watching it to see Solomon at this point. I so wish that they would have left him on TBL as one of the bad guys that turns up throughout the span of series. -

No, that was Romina, played by the actress Joselin Torres. Nez was in the last 3 or 4 episodes of TBL season 3, but not in season 4. -

The show seems to be getting better. The only problem is that it's pretty much the same stuff as many other shows. It's no different than Blindspot, Taken, NCIS:LA, and many others. Due to The Blacklist, I no longer care for solving the mystery of the characters past, but enjoy the action. I really like Nez. I was never a Tom fan, but thought with a new storyline that would change. I no longer have a problem with him on this show, but I'm noticing that I really don't care about his character's storyline and past. Ryan Eggold is a good actor, but I just don't care after watching Edi Gathegi. I wanted to hate Solomon, but the actor is just too good. You could say he gets all of the best lines, but it's the way he delivers the lines. Sadly, he's become the James Spader of this show and the only reason I want to watch other than the character of Nez. When they're not on I notice myself flipping channels. As for the Christopher Hargrave storyline I'm not sure where to go with it and it bores me, but leaves us with several questions. Either one or both of his parents is a doppelganger and possible Russian spy? I guess that's supposed to ease the incest thing between him and Scottie if they choose to revisit it? His mother, who orchestrated having a heavily pregnant woman abducted under gunfire although she knows the pain of losing a child, is borderline evil? His father is a paranoid nut or crazy like a fox? I'm beginning to think little Christopher's abduction and horrible life in the American foster care system was a mercy kidnapping. -

Oh no, I totally agree. That's why I would have preferred them launching the "Tom Keen" show after he killed the harbor master or before he and Liz got together on the boat. Basically they should have kept him as questionable. If they planned on launching the spinoff as a standalone they should have found another way to keep him in The Blacklist's orbit instead of giving him a baby with Liz, although they were smart enough to have Solomon crash the wedding before they were legally married. Also, I wish they would have kept him on the run by having colleagues of the Major going after him. You can't tell me he ran that type of program without financial backing and some kind of network in place. -

I love Edi Gathegi's acting, but I also have a problem with the Solomon of the past that threatened to crush a baby's skull and kill her with a virus, beat somebody with a sock full of pool table balls, and was about to filet Liz like a fish right after saying, "Presentation is very important." I'm not getting the ease with loving family man Tom working with Solomon and the possible bromance. I would have preferred them to spinoff Redemption during the middle of season 2 of The Blacklist or a few episodes before season 2 ended. -
I'm sorry, I don't normally post on this board, but I had to. In case none of you noticed Steve and Alicia had that wonderful salty ocean water to heal their wounds. It was so healing that it didn't even cause them any type of pain or prevent them from easily moving around and climbing. Therefore in the end they only needed a blanket for medical attention no stitches or bandages were necessary. I don't even know why Jerry bothered to mention that Steve was even stabbed when he effortlessly jumped out of Danny's sports car. How nice of Danny to leave Steve the keys while he's visiting his family in New Jersey. By the way I can appreciate them mentioning that he's in Jersey. At least it's plausible that he might wantto visit his aging parents and his sisters.
