S06.E14: The Osterman Umbrella Company

I have to admit I found it amusing that she killed herself. Especially the scene and look on her face when she realized it. -
S06.E12: Bastien Moreau: Conclusion
Just my 2 cents replied to ottoDbusdriver's topic in The Blacklist
Yeah, I thought at least with him it will be a somewhat interesting story arc. Of course as usual it's just another b.s. way for TBL to veer away from the origin story to drag out the show. I estimate that this show could have been wrapped up by season 3 had they gone with the initial story. I'm not sure I'll ever watch another show that is produced by the same people that produced this one again. -
Fortunately for Ryan Eggold, New Amsterdam got renewed a few weeks ago. It's just as well with it's renewal I'm almost certain it will last longer than The Blacklist. Even if TBL is renewed for another season I have a feeling it will be a 6-13 episode season. However, RE did say he would be more than happy to reprise his role on TBL.

For television purposes shooting in the hand, arm, shoulder, or leg makes sense. In real life a person shooting at law enforcement is deemed a threat and law enforcement are taught to shoot to kill. So if we take that into account Junior did the right thing as a police officer, but I would also have preferred him to just wound the guy.

I guess after 9 seasons something in the budget has to give and wardrobe would be one of the easiest things to cut. I don't know if it's true, but years ago when Nash Bridges was on my aunt told me that a lot of times Don Johnson would wear the same jacket they just filtered in another color. She subscribed to tv guide back then so I don't know if she read that from there or was just speculating. I suppose with digital editing that could be done here. Of course, given that the CGI is not the best on this show I suppose wardrobe would be the least important thing to worry about.

I like this thought! You would think by now since Scott has been missing 5 episodes per season, they would find a better way to shoot and edit the episodes that he's only available to film during his shorter weeks on set. It seems like this episodes part might have been filmed the week they filmed episode 9.12 and edited into this episode, but who knows?

Did he die or just get shot? It looked like he was wearing a vest. I rewatched just to make sure I didn't miss them mentioning anything. It looked like he was slumped in a corner and he had blood running from his right temple. It looked like he may have taken a bullet wound to the head. I'm going to assume he was dead. I find it amazing that none of the FBI agents survived, but 5-0 is doing great.

They aren't. I wondered about that too. They are jeans that have spandex in them and a slight sheen to them. They look like leather on tv. I think they are similar to these https://www.neimanmarcus.com/p/rag-bone-coated-high-rise-skinny-ankle-jeans-prod212880479?ecid=NMCS__GooglePLA&utm_source=google_shopping&adpos=1o1&scid=scplpsku180531835&sc_intid=sku180531835&gclid=CjwKCAiAhp_jBRAxEiwAXbniXVpeN9r-eLuzZo0P_f23SWMtvQ4gVgp8lu4DYeiQ3vJXhCSia0qDXxoCQ2cQAvD_BwE I think the more important question is why is Steve wearing the same outfit to work every other day?

I think we can all agree that you gotta love Red!

Someone posted a cut scene, although I can't remember if it was on twitter or another board of what appears to be a cut scene after Grace is in the hospital awake and Katie's father returns. I assume it is to apologize. They really need to figure out what scenes to add and what fluff to leave out on this show. There are some scenes from last season of Scott Caan that ended up on the cutting room floor, which I'm sure makes it appear that he's barely there even when it's his week to film. Episodes 10 and 11 were filmed out of sequence. I have no idea why. I know that was the case for last season's 24 and 25. I suppose it could be to make allowances for Scott Caan's off weeks. Episode 11 was filmed around the end of October, I think and 10 was filmed around the week of October 10 or 11. Episode 12 was filmed around the beginning of November, I think. Clair's Van der Boom has some instagram pics from something in October with her hair dyed blonde so if the pictures were posted around the time of filming for H50, give or take a few weeks, she might have been wearing a wig to keep character continuity or recently changed her hair color. I noticed that it was a much lighter brown than her normal hair color and looked very stiff in some scenes.

I kept hearing, David Keith tell Lisa Blount in their roles, "And I can get my old job back at JcPenney and in 2 years I can make manager", after he DOR'ed. I cannot be the only one that watches stuff and when one of those names appears in the title has to think about which one's name is first trying to remember the actor's face by the first name.

Did anyone else find this episode a little anticlimactic? I guess I don't know what I was expecting. Maybe I got hyped with the Expendables type episode I was promised since the beginning of the season. I also think it's because there were a little too many people in the episode. Although they were all great to see. I have to agree with some of you about Catherine. It would be nicer to see her if we didn't have endure the will they or won't they every single time she appears. I agree that at this point either have them get together or make it clear that although they love each other they want to move on with their lives and not with each other. They're in their 40's now and Steve is starting to come across as a gelding because he won't man up and tell Catherine he wants to be with her or that he doesn't see a future with her.

Thank goodness he was not there to warn or help Steve. He was out running errands or possibly visiting his previous owner's grave. Perhaps, Noelani and her new man took him to some dog event. I noticed that Junior had to patch Steve up instead of Noelani who they always seem to call for these types of things. It's like watching a movie or television show where the bad guy can't go to the hospital and he goes to the shady back alley doctor. Out of the most implausible things that is the one that annoyed me the most. She is a former government agent that has committed treason and they have her in something that resembles a minimum security prison. They could have done better than that. Yes, you did. I was surprised that they told Greer he was alive and he actually did die. I'm going with, he found out he had a terminal illness and didn't want to go out like that. He wanted to die in a hail of bullets. When I was a child I had a spring rocking horse. I seriously thought that's what they were sitting on. Sadly in the behind the scenes they did actually film some horse scenes on an actual ranch. I really wish they would have shown the stunt men riding them. Someone suggested that in Joe's final minutes that's the way he was seeing the sky and sunset. I'm just going to go with that. It does seem like they are tying up loose ends. No, he didn't make him promise, but guess who's in the next episode. If only they would tie up all loose ends and Steve's past life. Hold your horses (pun intended)! I saw an Instagram post with a person that will be guesting on the next episode as a female pilot. She tagged Jimmy Buffett in her post and they did say this next episode was going to be like an "Expendables" type of episode. I really hope I am wrong. Will I have to see Frank Bama fly a chopper barefoot? I was impressed by their arsenal of weapons, but wondered why they didn't have at least 2 located with all the weapons. It's obvious that if you have to use weapons it might be practical to have Kevlar vests. Or at least more realistic ones! I totally agree and thought that's what they would do. Only in 5-0 without any kind of police or military training can you be completely competent and tactical on your first time out with them.

I'm sure that's part of it. It's pretty normal for men that have thin or thinning hair. I've recently started to follow twitter and tumblr the past couple of years. Surprisingly, though many people complain about him or don't like him, Scott Caan has a lot of diehard followers. I think it was either last summer or the summer before when some pics finally came out that his friend posted. Some of his followers remarked, that his standard hiatus look was back.. Neither Alex or Scott do social media, but there's usually someone that spots them somewhere and post a pic. In all honesty Scott sometimes has the street thug look during his off season.

Yeah, they just made him up for this episode. I guess it's just as well since he died within the first few minutes of the show. As for Adam, I would laugh too, however I doubt that will happen. I do expect him to be abducted and held captive or a target for one of Five-0's numerous enemies. I will say this. He has obviously hit rock bottom if he's taken a job with them. They are always being shot at and almost killed, of course with Kono divorcing him and his siblings dead, he won't have to worry about them being in danger like all the other team's family members. On the plus side maybe him being part of the team will mean less Adam on his own side story this season. It would have been better though had they gone back to him being the legitimate businessman he originally started off with and having him running the business end of that money pit restaurant for Steve and Danny. Yeah it was extremely disgusting. Who knew Adam could look so hideous.
-
Perhaps an eye exam because I don't think he/she saw what they did. Just wondering if he paid for it, or was it done by the makeup dept. It really was hideous. Oh, he's perfectly aware. This is his usual summer hair cut. This is just the first season they've allowed him to wear it onscreen. Same with Alex. He generally sports shorter hair and a full on beard during the summer hiatus.

Some time in 2019. I suppose it might start earlier if some of NBC's new shows don't do so well.

She came across very negative in the article. She doesn’t mention that she wanted the same deal as Scot, but w/more time off. But it makes no sense. Wasn’t she visiting sets a lot last summer? Maybe her issue is more with the network. Paget Brewster on Criminal Minds had an issue with the network years ago regarding her contract, but she had kind words to say about everyone on the show. I guess they eventually worked it out since she's back on the show. The honest truth is the show and network is kind of a boy's club. The only time they ever gave her a few storylines over the past few seasons involved her getting married, her husband's issues, and in her final season the storyline they gave her had her being sulky over sex trafficking and talking about starting a family with her unemployable husband. She's just kind of in the background as the "hottie cop". It's interesting that her character worked for 5-0 for as long as she did and was never promoted. She was referred to as Officer. I would think being on a special task force would earn you at least Detective after about 5 years of solving major crimes around the entire state. I also wonder how the network would have handled the situation with her being in NXIVM. They don't always come across as very supportive of their actors. Anyway at least taking a year off out of the spotlight kind of kept her out of that situation.

You'd think. I almost added this when I posted earlier. I assumed that Alex didn't like the way Scott shifted gears. As a matter of fact he might have mentioned the gears grinding. Years ago I had two cousins same age. One learned to drive an automatic, but when it came time to buy her a car the standard Honda Civic was cheaper. They got her the car and then taught her how to drive a standard. My other cousin's parents bought the car first, which was a standard and then taught her how to drive a car using the standard they'd bought her. Before they got her the standard she didn't know how to drive. The cousin that learned to drive off of the standard car shifted gears so smoothly that unless you were watching her shift gears you couldn't tell she changing gears. I mean riding in a car with her was a delight. The other cousin that learned to drive on an automatic car and was taught how to drive a standard almost gave me whiplash. I couldn't believe how different their driving skills were. I had been with the cousin in her grandmother's automatic car so I knew she was a decent driver. I loved the Honda but practically cursed her parents for buying it for her. If I can remember although I was older and didn't really like to drive all that much, I chose to drive us around in my car most of the time. However, I always raced to ride shotgun in my other cousin's standard two-seater. -

I think at least for the past 2 seasons, I haven't really heard him complaining about Steve driving his car, but I have heard him complaining about the way Steve drives. If you remember the episode when we learned he named Grace after his partner that died on 9-11 there was a scene when he complained to his female partner Grace that she never let him drive. Maybe she was more New Jersey than him. They can be loud, blunt, and argumentative. I grew up in a friendly family-oriented military city, so they seem rude to people that are not used to being around them. Like I said, it's a different lifestyle in that area. Also, there was an article years ago that actually explained how all of this came about. The Camaro was a standard and Scott Caan doesn't know how to drive a standard. Alex does and offered to teach Scott, but he was still awful at driving a standard. They incorporated that into the show and that's how Steve being a control freak came about. He's even done it to Lou and Lou told him he would be glad when Danny got back because he was tired of him driving his car. I agree with you on the fact that Danny's character is used for laughs, but I respect Scott Caan for not sitting around waiting for his old man to kick the bucket so he can live off the fortune his dad earned. Yes they have ruined the character of Danny, I think in part to get people to accept the addition of Chi McBride's character. However, Scott plays the role regardless of how ridiculous they make Danny and gets a pretty sweet contract deal where he can be gone for a few episodes every season. Interesting enough while everybody is filming episode 24 at the end of the season, he's off on hiatus a week or two earlier than everybody else, because they film episode 25 before 24. I suppose if they are going to screw his character he might as well screw them for writing his character the way they have. In the meantime he uses his spare time to spend it with family and take on a few small projects. -

Yes, I do! I would like to see him beaten and tortured every week. I have no idea why. I think it's because they found such a useless way to right his character in and then make him totally incompetent that I just want to see him used as a punching bag or whipping boy. Other than that I had no problem with the season ender. It wasn't dynamic, but I'm tired of the huge season ending cliffhangers and then series cancellation notice afterwards. Oh please people, have you never been around someone from New Jersey. I'm from the South and lived in the New York/New Jersey area for several years. Danny is a true New Jersey person that comes off rude, annoying, and condescending. It's just their personality. It's a hard life up there which is why I'm back down South. Anyway if they just sat in the car and had a normal conversation every week I'd have to read how boring they were and they needed to add more layers than the COTW or that you didn't want to hear them talking matter-of-factly about their personal lives. It is what it is and has been for the past 8 seasons. And by the way, I have been meaning to say this, "Thank you, BW Manilowe for finally just saying and getting me back to where I used to be. I just enjoy the show for what it is, although I'll probably still make a few tongue in cheek sarcastic remarks. Which is why I think I like Danny's sarcasm. Basically it's a fun Friday night show to unwind after a stressful work week just like McGyver. Blue Bloods is the show you want to watch for all of it's seriousness.
