Awesome episode. "I thought you'd never ask." 😆 I'm actually surprised Trevor didn't get "sucked off" due to his act of kindness, but I'm just as glad he's still around.

Sassapis for the win. What a guy.

The more I think about it, the more I realize Ghosts should be nominated for a casting Emmy. I don't think there's a single miscast in the entire crew. What a great ensemble!

It really does have a great cast of characters.  Not one is unlikeable.  I can’t pick a favorite among them.

Oh, my goodness, yes.  I saw on another thread that viewers were likening this to Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman, and I can see that, too.

This show has always been Dr. Quinn with time travel to me.

I agree with everything you wrote.  Mac and Quan Li were adorable together and I wish a few more episodes had focused on them.  I also thought Harry and Leon had a great relationship but it's been so long since I watched it that I don't remember what happened to Leon.  Why did he end up leaving?

Leon was supposed to be adopted.  Harry wanted to keep him but said he deserved 2 parents and a chance at a family.  He ran away from his adoptive parents. I think it was left at that but I’m not sure.

  4. Whether Carter was a good teacher apparently depended on the student.  He couldn’t be bothered with Lucy but was the kind of teacher you expected the character to be with Abby.  Maybe the writers plot point at the time dictated whether Carter was a terrible teacher or not.

I chalk that up to hair in all period pieces is horrid!

I don’t know the show Versailles (Alexander Vlahos former show) had some pretty damn good wigs.

That church/meeting house is way too big and well built for something that went up that fast in the wilderness.

Then it goes well with only in TV land big house.

  7. Was I the only one who thought SH looked like Frankenstein in the Ardsmuir scenes with that wig?  It was actually distracting to me.

The show's decline started in season 6.

I think season 7 is when the show really went downhill.  In the seasons I watched (up until 12) I think it’s the worst.

If it wasn’t before, it is now; thanks to all the unavoidable COVID-associated delays, all their cast “kids” are hitting the 18-to-21yo age mark IRL this year - which makes maintaining the “fresh-faced kids just learning how to navigate high school” facade that much more difficult.

What about the actors playing the older teens?  They’re all closer to their 30s now then teens.  They all might be 30 when the show is done.

I just finished this book.  Were all the other books this long?  Good grief!  I can’t imagine how long the next one will be if she decides to wrap it all up at an even 10 books.

Yes they are.  If she took out some details - like describing every smell to the tiniest most ridiculous molecule the whole series would be half as long.

I lost my husband at 40 and had to deal with his ashes and I can assure you that little purse was not holding a 200 pound plus man’s ashes. Completely distracting and they did it just so Carrie could use that stupid ugly purse.

I was distracted because all I could think was no way was that all his ashes.

I was also distracted by the ugly dress Carrie was wearing.  I’ll never get that style.  It looks like the dress was swallowing her.

I don't know if the builder know about ghosts. I thought they just wanted Elias dead for his money. But since ghosts can't walk though the vault, who knows? Unless it's just as simple as ghosts can't walk through iron.

Elias is a creep, but how horrible to be trapped in there for over a 100 years. Even the basement ghosts have each other and the water heater.

How awful to be stuck with your own corpse and watch it decompose.  Gah.

I loved the part where he went to hell.  Great scene and reactions from everyone.

  13. The way they handled William was just the most ridiculous thing.  He appeared like 3 times and said one word.  It was just so silly.  Shouldn’t the character that James left his entire life for warrant a couple of scenes where he actually got to speak?

Olivia really did not have the best luck with men.  Lloyd was a smarmy ass and Matt was an overbearing ass who basically wanted Olivia for her son.  And don’t get me started on a man who was a part of their lives for like 5 minutes dictating what had to be done when it came to Olivia’s son.

(And on top of that shitshow is James acting like moving away means you’re not a father anymore because it’s too confusing.  I know nothing about kids but I think a parent disappearing from their 5 year old’s life would be just as confusing and beyond cruel - this is also the main reason I feel the writers killed James’ character.  His walking away from Georgie and saying he has a new Daddy now didn’t seem in character at all - it’s especially glaring if you binged the seasons the way I did.)

They could have completely scrapped the horrible Georgie/Matt plot and actually had Andrew come back and reconnect Andrew and Olivia because Olivia marrying Andrew did make sense.  It would have been better than what was actually on screen.

David Berry's availability (or lack thereof) absolutely is the reason for James's plots n season 5 and 6.  The creator of the show has said in interviews since that Olivia was the one who took care of James when he was dying which I think is likely given their relationship.

Yes I would imagine that Olivia would have been there for James.  Their still being close is one of the few things I liked about the last season.

I do wonder though what the deal was supposed to be with William during the epilogue. Was it supposed to be a given that he and James were still together when he died?

  15. I just binged this show thanks to David Berry from Outlander.  It wasn’t a bad show.  Berry is heartbreakingly good in the first couple of seasons.  I do think the last episode of season 4 would have been a better series finale.  Season 5 and 6 were tough to get through.

What I liked most about this show was the relationship between James and Olivia.  I just love the idea that these 2 people who could have been bitter and resentful towards each other actually did love each other and tried to do right by each other.

One of the reasons I prefer the ending of season 4 is that I could have gone without the gay character that would have rather been dead in the first season dying from AIDS in his 50s.  With what the guy went through he deserved a better than that ending.

Another reason is that I think James suffered from writer character assassination to explain away the actor’s absence in the last 2 seasons and he and the actor deserved better than what was written for him.

The Show Must Go On is my alternate series finale. S12 is when the decline started, IMO.

This was my series finale because I pretty much checked out after this episode.  The only episodes I watched after season 11 was when NW came back. I was as out of it as Carter was in S15 because I didn’t know what the hell was going on or who half the characters were.

Abby couldn’t even put her own child first when the time came. I can’t believe she ever thought it was a good idea for her to have a baby when the rest of her life was such a mess and she didn’t even seem to want kids to begin with. Wonder what 15-year-old Joe would be like these days if Abby and Luka were real people.

I was hoping when I came back to the show in my 30s that I would understand the Abby love and it would make sense, but I’m about the same age the character was (36) these days, and I still don’t see the love. Just an overgrown spoiled brat.

Joe would be an attractive alcoholic with BPD who watched his teenage love of his life die tragically.

I’m joking but with the poor me she must be a victim writing that Abby got I can totally see it going that way.

  18. I’m not sure why GV objected to that line. No. 1 - no one is that pretty or special to treat someone else like shit and No. 2 Abby was having her cake and eating it too with her physical relationship with Luka and her emotional one with Carter. Anyone in Luka’s place would have snapped.

  19. Night Court had a multitude of riches when it came to the actors. Even those that only stayed a year like Lana, Flo, Billy and Paula worked.  To me the cast always gelled.  It’s sad to think half the cast is gone. And much too young in pretty much all their cases.

RIP Markie Post.  I didn’t believe it when I first saw it because of how close it was to Charles Robinson’s death.

Someone needs to wrap Larroquette, Warfield and Moll in bubble wrap.

  20. Season 6 had some great songs.

There are a few songs I downloaded because of ER.  One that always makes me think of ER is If You Want Me to Stay.  I always hear Malik singing it. Lol.
