  1. Baby Alec Richard arrived safely yesterday afternoon.

GMA held off the announcement for a half hour! They mentioned Paula had the morning off and then mentioned Sara's absence and her news.

  2. Elizabeth needs to help Sherri with her morning routine!

“I took him this morning. I went in my pajamas with no bra on. I was like, ‘please Lord, don’t let the police stop me,’” she joked. “I don’t have my hair on. I got these crazy looking pajamas on with my house shoes. Please don’t let this be the day where they take me and drag me out the car.‘”

  3.

One thing, other than decades of experience, is so many women do not even write thank you notes.

My long standing pet peeve is going to a baby shower (or sending a gift from afar) and never hearing that the baby arrived safely!

  4. It looks like a diaper cover (think of plastic pants of bygone days) which is put over the cloth diaper. I would think you would put the onesie over the cover to prevent it from getting wet & worse but I guess they'll find out the hard way.

    They don't use cloth diapers.

Someone suggested that the onesie is too small and the diaper cover hides that issue.

  5. What is going on with Derick? Was just looking at Jill's instagram and Derick doesn't look well. I mean he always looks like he needs a shower and a haircut, but in certain pics his eyes look totally "swollen"/dark circles and in pics where he's wearing a t shirt, it's kind of surprising to see how thin his arms/entire body looks. Even a 26 yr old male who doesn't work out has a certain amount of bicep muscle; even in the birthday pic of Jed/Jer -- they look a bit bigger than their brother in law and they're only 17. It looks like he's lost weight everywhere, which happens to people when they're several decades older than him. I know the surgery took his toll bc he couldn't eat, but honestly after such a rough surgery/recovery -- couldn't they have put off their "mission." I don't see how learning Spanish and preaching the gospel can't wait until next yr -- it's not like those opportunities are time limited in any way. You'd think it'd be easier to recover in the relative comforts of the U.S. rather than the developing world. And if they HAD to go/he really desperately wanted to get away from the Duggar scandals/didn't want to change his plans -- I wonder if he's doing anything to bolster his health while he's there. He looks like he should be eating as much as he can and then supplementing every meal with Ensure/Boost/nutrition drinks just for the calories. Not sure if that's available in Central America but developing nations typically do have nutrition supplements on the market, as they tend to have lots of folks who just cannot afford adequate nutrition and are prescribed those things if their health gets bad.

We aren't the only ones wondering...

  6. I don't like the pickle video.

Izzy seems to like the texture but not the taste.

I wish they put it on a highchair tray- so he had the choice to pick it up, taste it and decide whether to keep chewing on it

Wish they would stop filming these videos (things forced on him)

  7. Did anyone notice a sizable amount of applause from the audience when SS said the refugees she spoke to didn't want to come to USA?  If I was in that audience I would've felt so sad about the lack of compassion.

Started reading from the bottom and wondered when Sherri (same initials as Susan!) had spoken to refugees (as well as why she was back after saying she had too much stuff going on)

  8. Regifting Fairy checking in...

My SIL does not eat sugar, is quite thin and exercises for hours each day belongs to a Warehouse store and this year gave me a 3lb container of chocolate covered raisins (which I do not need!)

Meanwhile the biggest popcorn bucket ever was delivered to my friend's house (and she hates all holiday food gifts)

Luckily I know a woman that hoards people (only way to describe her revolving door household) so I delivered the snacks tonight!

  9. I think Izzy has a good chance of going to college because he has one important thing - a penis. If Jill and Derrick had a girl I don't think we'd see her wearing the Pistol Pete onesies.

The Pistol Pete emblem on the onsie is a sticker (They have a set of 12 stickers- One for each month of Izzy's first year)

  10. No wonder shipping companies have difficulty delivering online purchases in time for Christmas  each year...

Today is Free Shipping Day and retailers are promising delivery by Christmas Eve. (an annual event)

This should be held earlier in the season (last weekend would've been a bit more realistic/ doable for already overwhelmed delivery companies!

  11.

The craziest/funniest thing is that on Sundays WE runs a Roseanne marathon...

Was anyone else (besides me) trying to figure out why there would be a marathon (to run in) that has Rosanne's name associated with it? lol

  12. Does anyone else get really anxious when getting prepared to leave out of town? We are going to leave some time next week to go to my in-laws. I guess part of my anxiety stems from the fact that my husband's company is open a half day on Wednesday, but he is telling me he might take the whole day off so we can leave Tuesday evening. I do not do well with open ended deadlines. I need to establish a timeline. He needs to make up his mind already.

In addition, this year instead of waiting until after we get back from Thanksgiving to start decorating, I would like to start getting some of it done beforehand. We host the whole famn damily at our place, with lots of kids and I put a lot of pressure on myself to make it magical and special for everyone. I mean, I am already worried about the Christmas scented hand soaps I would like to purchase at Bath and Body Works. What is wrong with me?

My daughter has the entire week off from school so she will be underfoot while I try to gain order and control the chaos and pack around here. Packing stresses me out, too. I am always worried about bringing enough outfits, of the right style and dressiness for all occasions and all temperatures. Being a trophy wife is hard, y'all. /sarcasm

I also feel like I need to have the house somewhat clean before I leave because I hate coming back from a wonderful relaxing time to a what essentially looks like a fall out shelter.

My problems are really all in my mind, aren't they?

I (just me) travel Monday afternoon to visit my Mom for 9 days- One would think I am up closing up my home for the winter!

I try to get so much done (as if my neighbors who will be cat sitting will care)

I'm not one to be able to pack and go- There is a lot to do- I am glad to have this weekend to prepare!

  13. Here's what I did (some where around 1974) I was in 8th grade

I called into a radio station and was the lucky caller!!

Great except for the fact that the station was playing a game similar to Clue- You had to be listening to the past calls to eliminate the wrong answers,

(Not sure how I missed that bit of information!)

So I didn't even guess- I assume my educated answer was "I don't know"

I made the effort to call in - and then I didn't play! lol
