  1. I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the fact, if true (this is the DM, after all), that the surrogate had to pay child support. Something's off with this story.

Earlier (Jan, 2015) news on this issue:

    http://jezebel.com/sherri-shepherds-surrogate-im-being-forced-to-pay-chil-1682672940

Bartholomew explains that although she was connected with the couple through a surrogate agency, she is listed on the child's birth certificate as a "noncustodial parent." Because of this, she says that she is also being pursued for child support. Apparently, Sally applied for Medi-Cal, which is a state program that provides free or low-cost health insurance, to assist with medical costs relating to a health condition plaguing the infant. This resulted in the state of California going after Bartholomew for child support.

  2. SHERRI:   Thanks to some on this forum, I learned that I don't have to sign up for Twitter to read people's Tweets.  Here's one from Sherri:

Taking Jeffrey to classmate's birthday party...Jeffrey to a playdate... taking Jeffrey2 Skyzone... making Jeffrey dinner-I have lost myself!

Poor put-upon Sherri.  One child...no regular work schedule and she has "lost" herself.  And...OMG!  She has to make dinner for him.  She is one amazing and inspirational woman.

Actually, if Jeffrey were my son, I'd probably schedule only one of these events for him...not three.

She needs to give him a little space (it may help her to find herself!)

She filmed and posted a video from the birthday party so fans are thinking its Jeffrey's birthday!

  3. Actually, if googled, the registered Hispanic votes do make an impact and make a difference although a large percentage are eligible and do not register compared to white and black voters.

The confusion comes from the use of the term Spanish People

  4. Interesting that a "show for women" is using Twitter to gauge thoughts/ opinions of it's at home audience.

While here on a message board for the show- the only one that has a Twitter account is Roger! lol

(With thanks to Roger for being our voice!)

  5. I suffered through the Trump phone call, but turned it off when I realized the Apple chat was really an infomercial.  It was, right?

Will tune in again tomorrow for Joy moderating.

I loved that some hosts missed the memo that it was an Apple commercial! lol

  6. And wasn't someone asking on this forum why people dislike Candace?

I hope her facebook post cleared that up.

    Here is the full content:

    "Yo!

As I prepare for my first official day as co-host of The View tomorrow, it may be somewhat anticlimactic as I'll only be on one segment. (Tune in to find out why.) But as I return on a more permanent basis, here is what I ask in addition to your prayers:

Please encourage me if you watch the show. Please tag The View on your social media outlets if you have anything kind to say about me or my viewpoint. The majority of the feedback I get from The View audience is from liberals (whom I love) but are mean, hateful and downright nasty toward me. It's incredibly disheartening to read.2

And while I know I have the support of many, most of those supporters don't vocalize it on social media. So all I read and The View hears are the negative and discouraging comments I'm tagged to that call me a vile, discussing, worthless and bigoted human being.

Don't do what many often do no voting day…. not show up. Be a voice- if not for me, but for a show like this so they can hear more than one point of View! If we don't speak up, they'll never know.

Thanks- and Share this if you're inclined."

  7. Barbara must be watching another show

"As The View embarks on a remarkable 19th season, I am extremely proud to see the legacy of smart and diverse women engaging in entertaining and thought-provoking conversation continue," Walters said in a statement.

    http://www.eonline.com/news/693598/whoopi-goldberg-makes-an-awkward-joke-about-the-view-s-co-hosts-watch-now

and I wonder if Candace will ever make it on the show following her Facebook post

Ahead of the show's premiere, Bure took to Facebook to ask for prayers to protect her from "mean" and "hateful" liberal viewers. "Please encourage me if you watch the show. Please tag The View on your social media outlets if you have anything kind to say about me or my viewpoint," she wrote Monday night.

  8. Paula Faris is on the weekend edition of GMA.

The expectant ones (Ginger, Sara and I think someone else) are on the daily version

eta  (The 3rd one is their news correspondent Mara)

  9. Whoopie was not happy today, she was very nasty with the teleprompter people...She was annoyed that she has co-hosts now that will not back down from her statements..Joy subtly put her in her place without coming off bitchy and overly emotional...Joy can handle Whoopie, unlike Rosie...

Must be due to her experience as a teacher- Let's hope it lasts!

  10. Just like Bitsy never developed interviewing skills, Whoopi never really became a good moderator. In fact, I think she's gotten worse at it. She struggles reading the teleprompter and when she falters, she falls back on a shock routine - talk of eggs dropping, vibrators, farting, sagging boobs. It may have worked in her comedy routine, but it ain't working now. It's not funny - it's offensive.

The producers of this show think that anyone can be a host/ moderator. (A difficult job- especially at a table with four others trying to do the same thing at the same time!) Being an actress or a stand up comedian is not preparation for it!

  11. The View was featured on GMA today. The four newer hosts were on to talk about the new season.
Whoopi and Joy were MIA- What a way to start the new season!
Looks like is gonna be a year of Us and Them.

  12. Anyone have an idea about the guests for this week?  All the other shows have listed their guests....

With 11 women lined up to be hosts- there won't be any room or time for guests!

  13. Sherri suggested Rosie Perez

Back in June at the 13th Annual Samsung Hope for Children Gala in NYC, E! News spoke to Shepherd about who she thought should replace Barbara Walters on the longstanding morning show.
"I would love to see a Latina sit at the table," Shepherd told E!. "Rosie Perez would be amazing. I always try to put the hit on Rosie."

    http://www.eonline.com/news/576057/sherri-shepherd-wanted-rosie-perez-as-a-view-co-host-months-ago-find-out-what-she-said

Think they were listening to her? lol

  14. A tip from my local bagel shop:

French Toast Bagels make a great base for a Monte Cristo sandwich

Now back to the dieting and exercise discussion...

While different from a heart murmur- A reminder to perimenopausal women that hormones can make you feel like you have heart trouble (Oprah brought this info to light and it sure was helpful and reassuring to me!)

    http://www.summitmedicalgroup.com/news/living-well/Heart-Palpitations-in-Perimenopause-and-Menopause/

Women and men can have heart palpitations. In healthy people, they are most common in perimenopausal and menopausal women as a result of fluctuating hormones such as estrogen and progesterone. Some perimenopausal and menopausal women suggest their palpitations occur during or after a hot flash.

  16. From a study on children born to heroin-addicted mothers;

Objective: The aim of this descriptive cross-sectional study is to show the long term evolution of children born to heroin-addicted mothers, focusing on social development, psychiatric disorders and substance abuse disorders.

Conclusion: Subjects born to heroin-addicted mothers may be at risk of having social problems, psychiatric problems and illicit substance use disorders, therefore they could therefore benefit from close monitoring after birth to minimize and control the risks.
