  1. This was quite important I thought... and it was at the bottom of the article

The new season of "The View" premieres Sept. 8. It will be live five days a week and will feature appearances by regular contributors including former co-host Sherri Shepherd, Padma Lakshmi, Stacy London, Ana Navarro and Molly Sims.

I wonder if they will each get a day

Maybe the Second String (aka The contributors) work Fridays!

  2. Now that my initial surprise, revulsion and shock of Josh's admission has settled down, I think I'm more able to react in a less emotional manner. Now I can stick out my neck about my thoughts and anticipate that it will be chopped off a bit, and that's okay too.

I'm just going to put it out there. I really can't blame Josh entirely for what he turned into. It's not his fault that he happened to have life's misfortune of being the firstborn child of nineteen. People who have three, four or more children know that the firstborn is treated differently. They are expected to be perfect in every way. Parents are usually harder on firstborns than subsequent children. New parents are venturing into a unknown territory and want to do everything the right way according to what they 'think' is the right way to raise a child. Many firstborn kids are lectured too much, disciplined too hard, overprotected and expected to be role models and responsible for their younger siblings. So many issues like anxiety, obsessive-compulsive traits and anger are more likely to remain with a firstborn child and linger into adulthood.

When Josh was only two years old, Michelle gave birth to the twins Jana and John-David. (A two year old is still a baby in my book) Suddenly Josh's 'babyhood' was removed and replaced by two infants. By the time Josh was five years old, he had FIVE siblings. At the very tender and impressionable age of five, Josh was already competing for the attention of his parents with five other siblings. I'm pretty sure Michelle and Jim Bob gave Josh a lot of responsibilities even at that young age. Josh was their first and their 'model child' and the experiment started with him. All the fundamentalist stringency applied to Josh being the firstborn and it was applied to the max. Guilt and shame was used to prevent Josh from doing anything they thought was 'wrong' or 'improper'.  Should we really be surprised and shocked that Josh developed unnatural and unacceptable sexual behaviors? I think it was inevitable and unavoidable considering the fact that no matter what, Josh was only a normal human little boy that never had the chance to reach adulthood totally unscathed emotionally.

Between Josh and the twins, Michelle had her life defining miscarriage - Just think of her ever changing emotional state when Josh was very young!

  3.

Sherri does have a financial responsibility to the baby and it sounds like she's meeting it so I'm not sure why Sal feels the need to keep this story in the public eye.

The gist I get from Sal's twitter is that Sherri is paying big bucks in her continued fight to be released from financial responsibility

@SalfromtheD so much for her claims of fraud.... Why pursue the appeal then?  At a cost of $70,000.  It's crazy!

  4.

.  Glad Chelsea is OK but I couldn't find out if her dog is alright also.  Did anyone hear about Bear?  Terriers don't handle changes in their routine at all well...

Interesting info on Terriers- Wonder why would they be trained as therapy dogs.

  5. Sherri is apparently going all out to help a niece start college- Are there any parents to include in all the activities (even if they are unable to assist financially)

Registered my niece for college... my credit card has melted so many books to buy.  Feel like I've been in the financial aid office all day

  6. BOO - no more View for me - 2nd or 3rd time I've said this over the last few years, but THIS time I think it'll stick!  Obvs, TPTB want to turn this program into a youth-oriented show that focuses on celebrity, show biz & sex surveys rather than newsworthy current events - NOT what BW "created."  (Is anyone missing her yet, maybe just a little??)  Count me in as another Dem who semi-appreciated Nicolle Wallace & was looking forward to her Bush-biased yet (hopefully) reasonably articulate opinions in the coming election year. Rosie P. could at least (occasionally) counter NW's GOP talking points.  But now we're left with Whoppie & the Slow Kids...& Sherri-Earth-is-Flat???

Someone needs to let ABC know that younger viewers are not watching TV (especially not at 11AM )

  7. I gotta say.... After reading this article... I lost a little respect for Rosie

    http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-3192848/Kiss-Rosie-Perez-QUITS-View-early-heated-spat-ABC-execs-forced-apologize-anger-Kelly-Osbourne-s-racist-Latino-remark.html

Not only did she cave and apologize on the air... when she didnt mean it.... but then she posted that tweet at the demands of ABC.... then she walked out.... If she really was as tough as she wants us to believe... she would have told them to F*** OFF before she posted it and walked out.

But no... she sent out that tweet like a good little girl then became outraged..... kinda too late after you already sold out.... her fans were right to challenge her on Twitter.

I don't believe The Daily Mail is known for its accuracy so we don't know how this situation really played out!

ETA-  Look what I just found about the Daily Mail and this story (fake writer/ faulty coverage)

  8. Wok Chop- I am an employment coordinator- I help people with disabilities find employment. Been doing it for 18 years!

Have you used employment services? Your state should have a program that would be a good fit for you.

(State drop in employment centers open to all residents are helpful too)

An employment search is not something that you do everyday-  Let someone else's expertise help you!

Services are individualized (helping folks that need a lot of assistance and others that are completely independent that we help behind the scenes)

We know employers, positions and the area (we do the networking for you!), the latest trends in job searching and how to address gaps in employment (health issues or assisting family members are both fine)

(Don't feel you have to list everything in your resume) Focus on your paralegal schooling and related internships.

Employers tend to focus on the upper half of the resume

Keep your cover letter brief (they are actually becoming a thing of the past as many ads are replied to electronically on sites like Indeed.com)

As for interviewing- There is lots of information on line on how to answer those annoying questions.

Do your research on the employer (know why you want to work for them and tell them!

and always come up with a question to ask (they always ask if you have one!)

I would avoid asking employers to "give me a chance" (employers don't like to hear any version of "I need a job,"  Let your experience- your education and internships inform them that you would be an asset to their firm.

A final thought- Since you were getting responses to your resume/cover letter and went on interviews-  focus on those interviewing skills!

  9. I was on a jury last year, we were instructed to talk about absolutely nothing we saw / heard and not to chat on the internet about any details at all She could/should be charged..............

Wonder if she learned anything after reading this tweet:

@SherriEShepherd maybe u were dismissed for tweeting about what was happening in the selection. Good strategy!

  10. Referring to my second grade teacher as "Miss Kathy" on Sundays, "Miss Miller" on Mondays

My friend's son had a similar school situation (couldn't figure it out!)

There's a teacher that looks a lot like Melanie but her name is Mrs Smith

Mrs Melanie Smith (not her actual name) is a wonderful teacher of the deaf in our area She was teaching our children (along with another teacher) in an integrated preschool where first names were used (our kids are in their mid 20s- so its been awhile)  Melanie assisted a boy with a cochlear implant.  She moved on to Kindergarten with him and became Mrs Smith!

  11. Many folks are saying that the problem with the Cara D interview in Sacramento was because of the interviewers. (addressed her by the wrong name, asked stupid questions and repeated the same information)

Hopefully The View isn't on Cara's schedule of appearances!

  13. The official ABC message board for The View is closing down:

    Dear loyal View fans,
We are announcing that The View’s message board will be closing in two weeks on Monday, August 10th 12pm PT.  We understand this news will be disappointing for regular users of the message boards.  However, there are plenty of other active communities on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/TheView and Twitter https://twitter.com/theview to chat with fellow fans and get the latest View news. In the meantime, we encourage you to make plans to migrate to other forums and say goodbye to fellow board users.

  14. Whoopi IS the problem, but it seems she has the iron clad multi-million pay or play contract.

I just shake my head daily and wonder how Bill Wolff feels leaving Maddow for this hot mess.

We all hoped he would get this show on track but since Whoopi has total control (for some unknown reason)

    It just keeps getting worse!

  15. Sherri went to the movies with Bone Hampton to see Trainwreck

There was a problem with the movie (able to hear parts of it- but nothing was shown on the screen)

Sherri shared the adventure on Periscope (If you hate folks that videotape vertically- it will drive you crazy)

(I'm not sure if the problem ever was resolved- I didn't watch for too long)

ETA- Now she is doing a live Periscope video as her plane has some weather related delay..(a new venue for her stories!)

Feeling sorry for her plane seatmate

(and for Jeffrey as she is sharing too much information!)

  16. Hahahahaha!  That video [of the three morons commenting, not the shark attack]  is hilarious!  Looks like Bits really found her people over at Faux News.  I was waiting for them to somehow blame it on Obama though.

Reminds me of the story about a radio show call in- A woman wondering why deer crossings aren't in better locations (Why are they on interstates)
