Never occurred to me to care one way or the other how they choose clues until I saw so many people on this board getting apoplectic about it. Still doesn't bother me at all.

I thought Dua Lipa was fine... certainly no worse than stupid Heidi or Chloe and way better than Sarah Sherman.

Rooting for James all the way. After that, anyone but Yogesh.

the ridiculous commercials with the lady friend (or miscellaneous friend) that looks in the fridge and questions the designer dogfood they find there. The guy then gets all insulted that it was being called dog food and exchanging a look with his dog, kick the lady friend out. Dude, it is dog food. I don't care who makes it, it's food for the dog therefore dogfood.
I'm on the dog owner's side and LOVE seeing the door slam in her smug, nasty face.

Didn't Lorne say at some point that he did not want SNL to be like The Carol Burnett Show where the actors occasionally broke during sketches? I get that Gosling is the host, but he seemed unable to hold it together during any sketches. Though I'll admit watching Heidi Gardner completely fall apart during the Beavis and Butthead sketch was pretty funny.
I really enjoy her performances, but I do think they really have run out of ideas for that sketch.
I don't. Loved it.. in fact, loved everything about the show tonight, except Emily Blunt.

Go away, Emily Blunt!!!

Hate, hate, hate the Allegra ad with that annoying twit with the purple headphones stomping through town screeching some stupid song.

What??? "Edmund Fitzgerald" is a *very* effective song. Not only do the lyrics pull the listener into the tragic story, so too does the haunting music. You can almost feel that chilly water and hear the groans & creaks of a sinking ship. IMNSHO, it's his best, followed by "Sundown". I love his distinctive voice, and the musical instruments used in his records.
Thank you!!!

I loved the cold open and liked mostly everything else, except Sarah's bit...she is consistently unfunny...and the musical guest.

I was rooting for Arthur to win and was so disappointed in that second DD. I know I was trying to think of the name of an instrument and not just a characteristic of the instrument shown. The wording of the clue was a trifle misleading:
I am also mad that I didn't think of vicar, but in my defense I don't associate the term vicar with Monty Python at all. I can't even think of any sketch with a vicar.
Look up the Dirty Vicar sketch on YouTube

Austin wasn't at all as I remember him. He was pleasant and self-deprecating. Even during his first run, I never found him as repugnant as Yogesh. That said, I was rooting for Amy all the way.

Yogesh is actually exhibiting some human traits...still don't want him to win!!!

And yet, in his latest game, he came across as very personable.
True, he did.

They are. While it's nice seeing past winners it makes the show run longer.
I love it!

Finally the one I was rooting for won! But I liked everyone (even sort of remembered Justin and Emmet once they started playing).
Exactly what I was going to say! Sorry for Emmet, though... liked his attitude. And Justin was so sweet to wish Ben good luck 😊

I cut Brian a lot of slack, because so many people, up to and including SNL, were so incredibly mean to him when he was on before, for no good reason (no, a vague resemblance to Hitler is NOT a good reason to publicly insult a perfect stranger who has done you no harm). As far as I'm concerned, he gets to enjoy himself this time around.
His haircut/mustache had nothing to do with my dislike of him during his first run. He was every bit as off-putting at that time and has not changed.

LOL to your reference but a little side-eye to Ken for the actual statement. I don’t think he was trying to throw shade at Alex, but it kind of came off that way…?
I remembered Brian for the moustache but forgot about the fist pumping. He was also trying a little too hard to be class clown. I didn’t remember the other two guys, but I would have happy to see either of them win.
No FJ for me again. Shocker.
The fist-pumping was what turned me off in the first place. The Hitler haircut/mustache was just something I couldn't help but notice.

Jeopardy! Masters
in Jeopardy!
Not you, but it drives others "insane". Anyhow, I hope it never becomes a rule...would be so boring.
