  1. That show had one of the best looking casts in soap history! Another one with incredibly good-looking people was the original Young and the Restless cast. That show had one of my favorite names for a soap character - "Snapper."
  2. Me neither - lol!! We could keep a therapist busy for years trying to figure that one out!!
  3. Your posts about this have made me a little nervous about posting the pic of the grandkids as our flower girl and ring bearer. I'm going to go back and remove the pic. Thanks for calling this issue to our attention!
  4. I had the same experience with All My Children. I watched it for years but eventually gave it up for the reason you mentioned - the plots just got stupid. In its glory days, it was the best. All those wonderful characters - Erica Kane, of course, Phoebe, Benny and Donna, Chuck and Tara, Tad and Dixie...sigh. I also watched One Life to Live, Ryan's Hope, Another World and Somerset back in the day.
  5. I laughed when I read about your strange crushes. I had a couple myself. When I was really little, I loved Moe of the Three Stooges. Also Bud Abbott from Abbott and Costello. Peter Lawford from Sinatra's Rat Pack was another one. I'm sure my parents were thrilled when I finally had a normal crush on Paul McCartney! Robert Clary went on to do a couple of soap operas. What made me laugh is that the writers weren't very inventive with his character names. In one soap he was "Robert (said the French way) LeClare," and in another soap he was "Pierre LeClare."
  6. James Brolin still looks fantastic - Babs (Barbra Streisand) is a lucky woman. He's currently on a CBS show, "Life in Pieces." Chad Everett looked good but apparently was a jackass in real life. He went on a talk show of that era (the Merv Griffin show probably) and referred to his then-wife as his "personal property." It was a PR nightmare for him - rightly so!
  7. I've been to Butchart Gardens. Years ago, on a trip to Seattle and the northern Washington, I stayed in the San Juan Islands and took a car ferry over to Victoria, BC and visited Butchart. It was wonderful - so beautiful. Mr. Booney and I are going to the Outer Banks in NC next week, and while there we'll visit another of my favorite gardens, the Elizabethan Gardens - http://elizabethangardens.org/ - on Roanoke Island. It's tiny little garden, but lovely and there are vista points that overlook Albemarle Sound, which is just beautiful. It's dedicated to the first colonists' settlement on Roanoke Island and it has sculptures of Queen Elizabeth I and Virginia Dare. I've bought a number of my small garden statuettes there - I love their gift shop.
  8. That's it! Good detective work, @Fishy! I like him, but I think he's trying to become the male Martha Stewart - adding cooking segments, decorating, etc. :-)
  9. The plaid versions are just as pretty. I bought the grey-green plaid in the store, but they had the pink plaid as well and it has the same tone as the solid deep pink one I posted the picture of. If you like the blouse @seahag, I'd go for one of the plaids.
  10. Since we've been discussing gardening, I thought I would share a photo. Mr. Booney and I took a stroll through a hidden gem in our area called Jenkins Arboretum. This arboretum is primarily know for its azaleas and rhododendrons, so this is definitely the time of year in southeastern PA to visit. It was so beautiful!
  11. This! I decided to jump back in there though, even after saying I was taking a break (we're allowed to change our minds, right?). The energy will only change if enough people step in to change it. I'm willing to give it another try. I had some success with it before, but I will have to use a different strategy in order to stay within the guidelines.
  12. Yes, the volunteer work requirement is what I remember and I knew I wouldn't be able to fit it in at that point in my life. Kudos to you for completing the program. Please post pics of your garden when you have it where you want it to be. Had to post this kitty in a garden -
  13. That's a big accomplishment, @lovemesomejoolery! I remember looking into becoming a master gardener many years ago, and it was quite an intensive program (I didn't pursue it). I'll bet your garden is beautiful!
  14. Boscov's and Gertrude Hawk sounds like a winning combo to me!
  15. I don't know if there are any wine connoisseurs here; unfortunately, my taste in wine is pretty low-brow. I happen to love Moscato, which is so low-brow that in our wine stores in PA, they don't even stock it in the white wine aisle - it's lumped into a section with beverage wines and other fruity drinks. ? Anyway, I just found out that yesterday was National Moscato Day, so I'm going to have to raise a glass tonight in a belated celebration!
  16. @Thumper, You can shop Boscov's online - www.boscovs.com. The brand of the blouse is Preswick & Moore.
  17. I went shopping today for some capri length pants. With my figure, shorts are no longer my friend. I usually wear knee-length denim skirts in the summer, but they can be awkward when sitting, if you catch my drift. I decided to do brick-and-mortar shopping and I'm glad I did. I went to Boscov's (those of you in PA or the mid-Atlantic area know this chain) and got a fabulous deal on capris. The brand is Salem Straits (probably a Boscov's house brand), they're 100% cotton, drawstring waist, "pork chop" pockets with a cute button detail, and the perfect length, although two of the pairs have a roll tab so if I want to cuff them to shorten them a bit, I can. I got four pairs - black, khaki, army green, and navy. The best part - they were on sale for $9.99 and I had a 15% off coupon, so each one cost me $8.50!! I saved so much money, I got this top in a couple of different colors at $18 a pop after sale discounts and my coupon; also 100% cotton, great for hot days: I don't think I could've gotten a better deal online!
  18. Amazon has several giant colored pencil sets. This one has many 5-star reviews -
  19. Thanks! Yes, at this age (2-1/2), they won't stay like this for long - they grow too fast, so photos are a must! They are cousins. I have three stepdaughters and the ring bearer is the oldest's son, and the flower girl is the youngest's daughter. They were born exactly one week apart. I'm crazy about them!
  20. I used to have red salvia many years ago when I had more sun in my yard. As my trees have gotten bigger over the years, I have mostly shade now, so it doesn't do well in my yard anymore.
  21. Hello friends! Popping into this forum and taking a little break from the other one for awhile. Hope to see more people posting here. Anyway, I got a USB drive full of photos from my wedding photographer. Mr. Booney and I are still sorting through them all, but wanted to share this one of the two adorable munchkins (grandkids) who served as our flower girl and ring bearer - (I decided to remove this photo after reading some of your posts about safety issues related to posting personal pics in open forums. They were adorable - trust me!)
