Jesse is a verbal abuser. If they spent any real time together it would turn in to physical abuse. He has gaslighting down to an art.  Yes, Darcy, it's all you. YOU are the crazy one, YOU need to change, YOU need to fix yourself, YOU need to look right, dress right, talk right, kiss my ass right, etc etc.  My bigger problem is with her. She keeps coming back for more. What is making her think and hope things will change? This woman has some serious issues and if she says Jesse is the love of her life one more time I'm going to throw something at my TeeVee.

Here's what I think happened. Darcy (like a lot of 30-ish, 40-ish bored women) got all caught up in 50 Shades of Grey.  They thought they might like to dabble in that.  There are many, many websites out there that cater to that type of thing, where people of a similar "bent" find each other. Darcy found Jesse.  For a while, it was invigorating to both.  Darcy, in the back of her mind, figured it was a passing phase.  For her, maybe. For him, no.  It's why she wears the chokers and scarves.  It's a BDSM thing. Some people get off on it. And maybe Darcy still does. Which is why she can't stay away from this guy.  She just never expected him to act that way, outside of the bedroom.

In the other thread people were saying Treat Williams. Is that it?

FTR Cortney went to Spain to meet Antonio, not Italy.

Oh my gosh, you're right! Why did I think it was Italy? LOL!  I belong right there next to Ms. Nigeria.

The UK has all sorts of baby supplies - Asda (the UK Walmart), various grocery stores. Unless there is a specific soap or something, she'll be fine finding stuff. Only it may be a bit more expensive.

She is on an adventure to find love - or another baby daddy. No guarantee the dude is going to be Mr. Right. He would need to face a lot of very hard questions about his background and suitability for any role in her or her kids' lives.

She reminds me of...what was her name? The one that went to Italy. With the gummy smile.

Unfortunately, nurse's assistants make very low wages. Too low to be buying engagement rings and flying to Nigeria.

That's why she was shopping at the Pawn shop...and had to put it on layaway.  Her daughter said she spent everything she had on this trip.  Silly woman.

Every time Rachel says "karaoke app" my soul leaves my body. What is she, 15? What a childish way to meet someone. Fittingly, I think the app they're referring to is musical.ly, which is popular with middle school kids. Yikes. Arrested development all over the place (literally in John's case). I wouldn't be surprised if she's seen Ricky's daughter on there.

So he pays for the baby's daycare and considers himself the father because she FaceTimed him through labor? Seems legit. Lucy is the cutest baby I've ever seen.

And how sad that there are adults, all over the world, singing into their phones or computer screens, hoping against hope that someone, somewhere, will jump in to do a duet with them.  I mean, sing in the shower or around the kitchen.  Go out and meet real flesh and blood "I can touch you" people.  Go to a karaoke bar...sing in real time with them!

True.  But I'm still amazed how these rednecks have any money to spare at all on plane tickets.  And I thought she was a nurse's assistant in Hospice.  Not sure that would pay all that well.  Does her daughter live with her in that small house?  Didn't she mention having six grandkids? Are they all her daughter's kids?

Yeah, I wondered about her leaving poor mom to go off to Nigeria.  Clearly, she cannot see past meeting her prince charming.   For her sake, I hope her mom doesn't pass away while she's gone.

That family doesn't live particularly well. Considering that there is an income from a nurse. an adult daughter (whatever she does), child support for the kids and Social Security for the ill Mother - that's not exactly peanuts. I would imagine that much of their income goes to cigarettes, booze, fast food and lottery tickets.

    I don't think she's a nurse, per se - I think she said she was a nurse's aide. I could be wrong.

I thought that was why they showed the photos of his parents. To me he was saying that they had a happy marriage because they were from the same culture. That, paired with the photos of his ex wives who appear to be white, and that he said that his name is Ricardo.

My husband's family has Hispanic roots.  He is "white".  "White" is a race.  His culture, however, is Hispanic, much like my culture is Czech. But we are both "white."  Hispanic/Latino is not a race.

Darcey allows Jesse to treat her that way. Except for visiting America, I have no idea what his game is right now. He too needs to deal with his own issues and 'fix' himself. I would haul him off to Times Square and leave him there - hopefully his visit to the US is short and he can find a cheap place to stay, see the sights, and go home.

I think Darcy likes it. In a 50-shades-of-gray sort of way.

Here is what I think.  Many people today feel entitled to sex and relationships and not just with an average person, but some Instagram model.

What is with these men (and women)??? They want the moon -- not your average Joe-type person....but THE MOON!  Bless their little hearts.

I just....am baffled by this Rachael and John situation. It doesn't seem like a scam to get a green card. I know everyone has their types and some might not find him attractive but I think he's pretty good looking. He probably has no trouble getting a woman just at the corner coffee shop without having to find one across the pond.

So what gives?? What IS IT about her that he's so interested in? Could she secretly be a siren and her singing voice has mesmerized him?

Now, I'm not saying she's some awful looking woman that's unworthy of love, she's not. She's pretty, but she's got a lot of baggage that I just don't see being a source of appeal and lets be frank she's not hot enough to override it all.

Or, maybe it's a scam I haven't figure out yet.

Or maybe I'm just shallow. Stranger things have happened.

Or maybe he's a pedo.  Really, taking pictures of your naked self from behind to send to your internet gf?

Well, let's see. In Season 1 we saw Babs taking care of Whitney's personal grooming when Whitney merrily confessed she was unable to shave her own legs. This started some discussion over what other bodily needs Whitney might have trouble with because of her size.  Subsequently, (in the third season) Whitney and Buddy moved into the current house together, and the show tried very hard to sell the idea that they were a couple co-habiting. Sparked in part, I think, by the scene where Whitney demands that Todd put her shoes on because she couldn't reach them, there was some discussion here over how/if Buddy was capable of doing the type of caretaking that had previously been discussed. (Clip of Buddy rescuing Whitney from shower and not happy about being asked to rub her back with ointment.) It's fair to say there was a whole lot of skepticism about the relationship, let alone the grooming issues, expressed at the time. Now we know that Donna was living in the house, but at the time, the show audience, at least, did not know she existed.

Then came the infamous scene (in the 4th season) where Babs and Glenn were visiting the new house "unannounced" and "accidentally" opened the door to Whitney's bedroom, to find Whitney naked on her bed and Donna with her hands on Whitney's boobs, "giving her a massage."  Whitney thought this was hilarious and we all (a) learned of Donna's existence and (b) learned that Whitney didn't know how to pronounce the word "sensuous."

In the next episode, Babs asks Whitney if she is bi-sexual and in a Lesbian relationship with Donna, and assures Whitney it is A-OK with Babs if she is. Here's the clip (scroll all the way down the page to get to the video.) Whitney denied the relationship, but now Donna was on the show radar (and attending the cruises).

From this point Donna starts to pop up more frequently in Whitney's Facebook life.  Video of Donna and Whitney uh wrestling?  (There is at least one other video example of Donna and Whitney laughing hysterically and making "sexy" faces at each other and the camera.) She has on several occasions mock-complained about how much time and attention Whitney needs. She was helping Whitney check in guests for the first cruise. She appeared to have been involved in helping Whitney assemble the Avi whiteboard. She went on the trip to Hawaii and shared Whitney's suite. Only once, to my recollection has the show mentioned Donna travelled for business, but what she does has never been mentioned, and there's no reason to believe it. The producers have spent three four seasons trying to hide the fact that Donna lives in the same house as Whitney and Buddy because they were milking the "will Whitney and Buddy fall in lerve or just stay roomies?" storyline for all it was worth - with Heather in the mix as an intriguing complication. So maybe they have just switched to pretending Donna isn't there very often?

tl:dr   But to sum up briefly - We know Whitney needs regular  assistance due to her physical issues, most caused by her weight. We know her mother was doing the assisting when Whitney lived at home. We know she would still need the help after she moved to her own house.  We know Buddy isn't capable/interested in providing it. We know Whitney and Donna have a very handsy, huggy, kissy relationship, so clearly Donna has no big issue with touching Whitney as required for her routine maintenance. We know Donna lives in Whitney's house and travels with her, at least in connection with the show.  We know Whitney calls her Boo Boo.  We know they deny they are Lesbian lovers. And from all this is drawn the conclusion that Donna is caretaker for Whitney, whether paid or unpaid is not known. Maybe she looks after her just as a friend. But someone has to be doing the shaving, etc. and it seems plausible that the person is Donna.

Sorry Globegrl, you probably weren't expecting this much answer, but I happen to be stuck in a hospital waiting room with nothing but my laptop again, and that tends to encourage my odd research obsession with this show.

Why, oh why did I click on that link?  Whitney wheezing and coughing up a lung is not attractive.  Are they high in this clip, or what?

I checked out her page. Schenee's got her own personal army of drones ready to attack anybody who says anything remotely negative. I'm thinking that they are all Schenee because they all attack the same way. The person says something and then the drone goes to that person's page and gets a nice quote from the person's page, like, "Practice Kindness" or whatever and then says something like, "Too bad you don't do that."

Either she has lots of friends (doubtful), or lots of time (more likely).

Yes, I did take the time to check out her page, but I don't have time to make an army of drones and then summon them to my defense.

Or maybe they are just her church friends.

I don't know...that was a pretty sizable entourage she took down to Houston with her.....

That's what it is! I couldn't put my finger on it, but it's the defying nature of much of her interaction with her parents. Like a 15 yr old. At this age, Twit should be starting to see that her parents may be right about some things. I don't find them to be terrible people and they have tried to do their best by her, tho they may have overdone it a bit and are too coddling when they need a firmer hand - or to step back and let her flounder on her own.

I'm going to be a contrarian here and say I agree with Glenn about getting married and having children in that order. I was a young widow. I know what it is to be a single mom - but my son and I started from the right place - two parents, together. We diminish men in our attempts to support women. We make fun of men in commercials and the movies, and then wonder why they play video games until they're 35 and avoid commitment. Especially in the black community, having a father in the home is becoming a rarity.  Single parenthood is a primary cause of female poverty. Can single mothers can raise wonderful children, of course, but it shouldn't be the first choice and isn't the best for the child or for society. All that said, I'd have more respect for Twit if she adopted an older child and not a baby.

Finally - folks, put the phones down! Look at the balloons and the life around you through your own eyes, not the camera lens.

I like what you said here.  I also think, for a very, very, very long time (3 or 4 decades) little boys have not had male role models in their lives to model to grow up to be men.  Sorry if that offends some.  But whether single parent households with missing dads was a choice or a matter of  life, the effect was still the same: boys without good male role models to live with, day in and day out, to look up to, and emulate. And now we are seeing these little boys today -- the 35 year old men who play video games all day, or have committment issues, or maturity issues, etc.

Oh yea. Buddy delivers a bombshell. He tells her he was a bad boyfriend and he doesn’t want to date her anymore. Such stunning information I’m not sure  I’m going to know how to handle it.

To me the bombshell would be that he cheated on her -  was dating others while dating her.  She seemed completely nonplussed by this, which I find odd -- unless it was untrue.  I'd be taking myself off for some STD testing, if it were me.

  16. Did anyone else find her reunion with Henchi to be rather...orgasmic for her?  I was very uncomfortable watching her practically engage in some type of fetish play with her cat.

And Buddy...you cheated on Heather? I hope you told her to get tested for STDs.

My theory is that the “knowledge” she has is her social currency. She feels important and sought out when she is the source of information for her friends and family.  If she had an actual job, she would be in the person in the office that would knowledge hoard as a misguided way of creating job security.

I bet when she was younger she did a ton of gossiping that kept her at the center of social circles. She probably tries very hard to recreate that feeling of power.

    I love this explanation.
