I wasn’t for Devens at one time but now  I want him to win, he’s playing the hell out of this game. He’s looking for idols while the rest of them are sitting around doing nothing. And he’s playing the mind game to the hilt too.

This is where I am too. Yeah, too many HII but dayum, he's playing the game the way it's set up. Why didn't anyone else get up early to look? he did. They just bitched.

And he mind-played them at tribal. Their own danged fault for falling for it - Aurora, though a cranky annoying person, was right about that.

  2. I think Reem thinks that she's Queen of Edge.

Gavin thinks he's the next biggest threat? omg. I can't. I just can't. I don't know, though - this is not a game of stellar players. I feel like they've fallen into who they've eliminated so far - no plan to it all.

OK I'm happy that Wardog is gone because he got on my last nerve, but he REALLY wasn't a threat. He couldn't win anything, he didn't really lead people but he took credit for others' actions. He just annoyed everyone into thinking he was a threat. I'm glad he's gone because I could totally see him riding coattails to the end and then winning by claiming he had Great Game.

I'm totally for Devens right now.

Cripes, Gavin even insults like a grade schooler: "Smell you later." I refuse to believe he's out of junior high.

Did Victoria even speak during this episode? Once?

Wardog getting sent to the pound should be cause for celebration . . . but he can get back in the game.

Not a chance. He never wins challenges.

EoE is really good for Aubrey's hair - it looks great!

  3. OH CRIPES NO. NOT PASTA SAUCE

I need to stage a protest over this.

So, she also has ranch dressings and BBQ sauces. - if she's selling them, why does anyone need to watch her show/read her cookbooks to make them?

Barbecue sauce flavors include apple brown sugar, frontier, honey habanero and peach whiskey. Suggested retail price is $2.99 per 18.5-ounce jar. Dressings/dips are frontier ranch and spicy southwestern ranch. Suggested retail price is $3.29 per 12-ounce bottle.  (from here )

So wrong! TWoP went out of business - had nothing to do with Pioneer Woman.

Right? If anyone thinks that the Ree Critiques are harsh, or were there, they're both delusional and utterly forget the critiques, well, everywhere else. I mean, how we talked about Aunt Sandy? And good god, Amazing Race contestants?? I mean, the recap on Colin & Christy was EPIC and none too sweet ("My ox is broken!")

  5. My show thoughts:

If I ever meet Wardog, I am going to make him sit in a room listening to a tape of "Thou shalt not refer to oneself in the third person" for 24 hours.

Holy crap, even BUTTERFLIES hate Wardog! I've never seen an attack butterfly before.

I am not Team Julie but I agree, who lets Wardog run things??

This new thing of announcing who is the target at Tribal cracks me up.

I'm glad Rick Devins won. I'm glad to see an advantage actually pay off. Usually it's so anti-climactic.

ok, STOP GOING HOME WITH IDOLS IN YOUR POCKETS, PEOPLE. Wentworth HAD to know she was a target. She always was.

Also, some of these people screwed her over, in her mind, so she's personally invested as well.

AND there's a chance she might be back in it, so seeing all these fractures is valuable.

It rarely fails that a tribe that merges up in the numbers and "strong" self destructs once the players get a chance to actually play. That's why, even though I think it is a poor decision to stick to [insert tribe name here] "strong" play until you have to turn on each other, it usually backfires if you turn too soon before whittling the opposing tribe's numbers down to a more manageable level. Survivor seasons are riddled with minority tribes sticking together enough through the merge to take out the dominant tribe (with the dominant tribe's help of course)

I think the EoE has messed with the "_____ Strong" dynamic a bit, and I'm not unhappy about that. I'm always annoyed when they're all "oooh my TRIBE!!!" and forget it's an individual game at the end. Especially when you see some of them just playing to advance the top 2 or 3, knowing  they're going to get tossed to the side.

  8. I totally agree. Basically, we're gonna have HGTV with Prop Bros & Love it or List It, 5 versions of Flip or Flop,  3 million House Hunters, and The Gaines Network.

I was just thinking today how I missed all the other shows we used to have - the Crashers, the Sarah Richardson shows, Candace,  I Hate My Bath/Kitchen, Desperate Landscapes (remember when HGTV had actual "G" in it?).

Also the Mike Holmes shows, Bryan Baumler, Scott McGillvery - the Canadians! They're still all making shows - we're just not allowed to see them.

Chip and Joanna Gaines turned their home-renovation business into a huge industry and became household names, thanks to HGTV series "Fixer Upper."

But they have bigger things in store for their new cable network, now in the works from HGTV parent Discovery.

The channel will be launched in summer 2020 and replace Discovery's DIY network, the couple exclusively tell USA TODAY. It is expected to be branded with some variation of their Magnolia banner, which grew out of their construction business.

We often don't know where votes come from.  That's part of the game, i.e. the contestants themselves get blindsided

Yup - I like this a lot better than when you don't see any of the logic behind a vote and it comes out of nowhere - which also usually means there've been editorial misdirections. I prefer this insanity to "let's fool the viewers!"

As you say, the contestants should get blindsided, not the viewers (entirely). Surprise at a vote result isn't better than seeing the contestants' surprise. Isn't that  why we show up to watch?

It's great when someone executes a grand plan. It's also great when there's chaos and people make a big move out of it. Just different kinds of fun.

Why Warthog was not an easy boot is a mystery to me.

I think, because they don't believe he actually has the power he thinks he does. So they let him wander along thinking he's some great mastermind and do what they want.

  13. Wardog thinks he engineered last week. Oh lawd.  Eric is shaky. Ron's realizing he's mortal.

I guess Tribal IS big tonight, since they're not showing us Reward.

LOL Gavin, "I thought I had a vote in what we said but it turned into a dictatorship." No, you thought you held the reins but the horse went its own way.

WTF Julie? This is like the first time I actually recognized her.

I didn't even know who Julia was until last week (or the week before) but I can honestly say I really don't like her now. She thought she engineered last week and it has GONE to her head.

I think they decided Julia for sure when she said "Shut up, Wardog." I mean, he's not the most loved or anything, but that was arrogant and overstepped Survivor norms.

I know some may not like this kind of Tribal, but look, after this many seasons, it's nice to see stuff shook up.

Also, one less Julix to deal with!

Also, Kelley's faces were priceless.  And Aubrey's.

Give me a freaking break, Chicago man.  If you need to live within walking distance of your mommy and daddy, you should just give it up and move back in with them.  I’ve never seen such a thing that all the kids have to live so close to their parents.    I kept telling the woman to run as far away as she can from this guy because it’s going to be a nightmare.  At least they decided on the one that was the furthest from his parents.

I knew a lot in Philadelphia and vicinity who still live in the same neighborhood as their parents. A lot of my HS friends still live in our hometown. I understand it, but it's not for me - I've lived all over the country since 1980!
