Season premiere!
QuoteSix self-taught baking teams arrive at the "Crime Scene Kitchen" to start their hunt for clues, leading them to the mystery dessert.

Gotta be honest, I've never heard this "iconic" song before.

I still say it's Lorde in a Bishop Briggs disguise.

Y'know, I just realized about half an hour ago that this is the first season that Joel McHale hasn't shown up in.

Sorry, Jenny, but that does not sound like Neil Patrick Harris.

Season finale!
QuoteWhen Margaret is too sick to work on the final day of an important negotiation, Todd must step in and impersonate a lawyer while Margaret uses her investigative skills; Margaret and Gus share their first kiss.
(And I'm honestly surprised it took them all season to use that episode title.)

The final two celebrity contestants each perform two all-new songs; both are revealed -- but only one takes home the trophy and is crowned the Season 9 winner.

I figure they gave it to Ty because he was a comp beast and it looked to them like Claudia was riding his coattails. BB juries tend to haaaaate hangers-on.
21 hours ago, Joan of Argh said:She also looked foolish when Arisa asked Ty if he’d be going to Newfoundland and he waffled, then Claudia in her silly, nervous little girl voice asked him and he sort of brushed it off and said he’d go there at some point… he looked like he wanted to change the subject.
PEI, just for the record.

I hated the Pentatonix cover of Creep. If that was the only version of the song I had ever heard then I would hate the song. But I love the song and this is why I don't belong here - after the original, of course, this is probably the only cover of it I love...
I'm partial to the version Hayley Reinhart did with Postmodern Jukebox, myself....
I thought Pentatonix did a decent job with the song. And I'm surprised they let them close out with the full song, rather than cutting them off halfway through. Pretty sure it's just them and Palin that got the chance to do that.

The remaining three celebrity singers perform, but only two move on to compete in the season finale.

I'm willing to admit I could be wrong, but I still say that Medusa sounds like Lorde.

The final four compete for a spot in the coveted semifinals, performing British Invasion-themed songs.

You know those times when you follow a show that's basically light fluff, the kind of show you can throw on in the background and not give it your full attention, that you find mildly entertaining but in the end can really take it or leave it, but then suddenly, out of nowhere, they go and put out a REALLY good episode?
This is one of those moments.

I still say that Medusa might be Lorde. The "alias" clue just points to that.

The three "saved by the bell" singers, Mantis, Gargoyle and Medusa, compete for their spot in the quarterfinals; two are unmasked and only one goes on to be named the group champion; he or she then battles for a spot in the semifinals.

Well, not quite as clipshowy as I was expecting. I mean, don't get me wrong, it was still a clip show, but at least there were some new performances and a couple of clues mixed in there. Didn't help me much, but still....

Pretty sure the fans they just interviewed are the only ones who don't know who California Roll is.

I dunno. UFO gave it a bit of a flourish.
