One little detail I really liked was that Gran-Gran's note was written in Inuktitut, the language of the Inuit people. I live in Labrador, in northeast Canada, and there's a large Inuit population up here, so I see it around all the time. Even though I can't read a word of it, I still recognized it.
It's a little thing, but I thought it was a nice touch.

Not to mention that they had 100 years to hunt down any stray Air Nomads who might've been away from the temple that day, and a huge army more than up to the task.

I only know Paul Sun-Hyung Lee from the handful of episodes of "Kim's Convenience" I've seen. But judging from that alone, he's probably the best person they could've possibly cast to play Iroh. That clip only proves it.

Also, what happened to Lisa Rinna’s face? Botox? Fillers? Botched surgery? I barely recognize her.
Maybe it was the hairdo. Don't know about you, but I'm not used to seeing her with hair down to her shoulders. Those lips are unmistakable, though.
And it's very telling about the corporate mindset in the firm that the partners meeting, with only two people attending in person, seemed to be fully catered. Especially since the meeting was about personnel cuts to trim the budget.

Yeah, my recommendations have been flooded with reactions to the trailer. Some of my favourites....
And I'm watching Michaela Murphy's Avatar: TLA reactions, too. I hope she does the live-action series after it comes out.

Really, the only knock I have on the trailer is that they didn't have someone destroy a cabbage stand.

They'll probably drop a couple of the episodes that don't really contribute to the main story, like "The Great Divide" and "The Fortuneteller", and maybe compress a few others down to their key scenes.
And as for the characters being introduced early, they're probably just extended cameos meant to tease the long-time fans of the franchise and get them excited about season 2. Though it wouldn't surprise me if they find ways to integrate them into the season 1 storyline. (For instance, maybe Azula leads the invasion of Kyoshi Island, instead of Zuko.)
Frankly, I'm fine with them streamlining the story a bit, so long as they keep the heart of it intact.

S01.E04: Into The Dark
in Avatar: The Last Airbender (2024)
I can see how a lot of fans of the original show can be upset at how pissed Bumi was, and that it was a real fight to the death, instead of just a test. But let's face it, it's a lot more realistic that a leader whose city was under siege for 100 years, and who lived through every single minute of it, would be much more hardened and battle-weary. Naturally, hed be more prone to give in to his despair, until Aang brought him back from the brink, and gave him back hope.
It was also a nice touch that Bumi made Aang's bison whistle.
