I've sort of been on Team Giselle, because the inference is that he reneged on a decision to retire, derailing whatever life plan they had made, though we can't know that.

Let's also remember that he has a broadcasting contract on ice with Fox which will pay a metric ton of money, though undoubtdly less than a year on the gridiron gaining a foothold on CTE would. I don't think we can even consider income in the story of those two cash cows.

Yeah, I'm definitely Team Gisele.  I mean, we'll never know the truth, and it's none of our business; however, it seemed pretty clear to me that he reneged on a deal he made with his partner to serve his own ego.

Hadn't heard that was a possibility.  Hope it's not true.

I hope that it IS true.  If he never played another point of tennis again, it would be too soon.

Deep breath, now time to get creamed by the Bengals next week.

No, no, no.  Speaking as a Bengals fan, I can say with confidence that no team can snatch defeat from the jaws of victory the way the Bengals can (see: last year's Super Bowl).  We could very well lose today to the Ravens even without Lamar.  I know, I know: these aren't the same Bengals, blah blah blah, and Joey Bear is my everything and all of that.  However, I have a lifetime's worth of trauma, and it's not going to be undone by a good year or two.

I will say, though, if anyone understands the trauma of a Bengals fan, it is a Bills fan.  Solidarity, my Bills brethren!

    Depends. Are you 6'10"?

A gentleman never reveals his height, but I am 6'2" and not a day older!

My heart is four times bigger than Simmons', though, so I feel that more than compensates for the height differential.  I sit on benches magnificently.

Ben Simmons has been suffering a crisis. His crisis is that he really sucks, his attitude really sucks, & he can't be counted on to help the Nets win a championship. The sooner the Nets realized that & get rid of him ASAP, the better. BTW, its not surprising that scored 0 points in contributing to the Nets losing to the Celtics.

OK, I suck at basketball, and I would score zero points in any game, which basically makes me the equivalent of Ben Simmons.  HOWEVER, I have a great attitude, people love me, and I am a wonderful team player who would support and inspire my teammates; in this way, I think I could help the Nets win a championship and am, therefore, the superior of Ben Simmons.

So, since I'm superior to Simmons in the aggregate, I feel I should have his $35.45 million salary instead.  I am more deserving of it.

@Magog, if you want to act as my agent and effectuate this trade, you would earn 10% of that salary.

This feels right; let's make this happen!

But my understanding is that LA, despite its size, isn't really a football town, and thus, supporting two franchises makes zero sense.

You're exactly right about that.  We're a baseball/basketball city (which is too bad for me because football is my favorite of the big sports), and while the Rams are certainly more popular than the Chargers, there really isn't a big fanbase the way there is for the Lakers (whom I detest) and the Dodgers (whom I love).  I think it's fair to say that even the Clippers, Angels, Ducks, and Kings have bigger fan bases.  I actually do like the Rams very much, but I and half of LA were rooting for the Bengals last year.  Absolutely no one here would care if the Chargers made the Super Bowl unless they were rooting against the NFC team.  That's about how popular our football teams are.

Not even if they played the Rams?

No, not even then.  Anecdotally, there are more Rams fans here than there are Chargers fans, of whom there are almost zero.

  9. I firmly believe Russia and the IOC are just trying to extend this shitshow and hide any evidence so that everyone forgets about it and Russia can keep its ill-gotten team gold.

Not sure why you named Alabama.  I'm not saying we should've been there.  That ship sailed over a month ago.

Because the only people who've been questioning TCU's place in the top 4 are Bama fans, and that ship most certainly had not sailed for a lot of Bama fans.

You were the one who said people will question TCU's spot in the top 4, so I might ask you why you even mentioned that to begin with.  No one, not even most Bama fans, was doing so a week ago after TCU beat Michigan.

And yes, people will question if they should've been in the top 4.   I will leave that for others to dissect.

Well, TCU did beat Michigan to make it to the title game and certainly deserved its spot in the top 4 over all other schools, including Alabama.

Also, I have, in fact, wondered if Derek Carr uses a lash serum.

Same.  I don't always think Derek is beautiful (David, however, always is), but his lash game is on point.

    Ah, Jimmy:

Come to me, my darling, I'll make it all better.

I broke down and had McDonald's for dinner on Tuesday, so I'm going to sue Michael Jordan because his endorsement of it in the '90s when I was so impressionable was the root cause of my weak will on Tuesday.  And also because he's a big poo.

I'm already seeing those peoples on ESPN being very sad & panicking that their "Golden Boy" being injured & thinking that it could be a season ender.

Oh, I didn't see that Bron-bron was injured, too.  Poor thing.

The Dodgers signed Trevor Bauer and didn't care as long as he could win games.  If they had signed him and he played well all of those Dodger fans would have cheered - hey, everyone makes a mistake, it's all in the past, etc.

Uh, no, not all of us would have, and I think the reasons for why Correa and Bauer are loathsome aren't particularly analogous anyway.

Montana is (or was before his hair whitened) a brunet, but I'm blond.😞  I've had to learn to be funny to overcome my blondness.😏
