  1. I liked Episode 2 more than Episode 1.  I was looking forward to more of Riva, oh well.

Can someone tell me what happened to Quiet Ann's cop girlfriend?  I thought they set her up to be killed but it looks like she is alive?

Walgreens just announced that they are setting up to close 600 some stores, mostly Rite-Aid stores.  Makes sense if they're self-competing, but will still cause hardships for customers & employees.  Too bad.  Everything in retail is contracting, and will probably continue.  I don't know what is going to happen to unskilled labor in this country.  Scary thing.

It is concerning.  I have a lot of friends in the service industry.  They make good money but no benefits and bad hours.  I also wonder about their long term financial security.

Good.  He was a rotten toad and always looked like he stunk.  A very unattractive man, inside and out.

Many years ago my friend worked at the clubs in Manhattan and Great Gorge.  It was a very professional atmosphere.  The women were treated with respect and customers were not permitted to get out of line.  Hefner was rarely there as he lived on the West Coast.  Agree that he was not a handsome man.

My gosh, Kody is so big! I can't believe how fast he is growing.

About MeTV: I love so many of their shows. I'm addicted to Perry Mason!  Love the plots, despite the fact that I know Perry will almost always win his case, and that something totally unrealistic will always happen, like the real killer suddenly standing up in the spectator section of the courtroom and confessing. Also I get a kick out of seeing all those beautiful old cars, elegant women's clothing and the old hairstyles. (Styled by Annabell!  Who the heck was Annabell? I had to Google her. She was Annabell Levy, 1915-1975, a  stylist who worked on many TV shows.) The Perry Mason theme music is so fantastic -- I never tire of hearing it.

I enjoy the old Westerns too, such as Gunsmoke and Wagon Train. I remember watching them when I was a kid. My mother had a big crush on James Arness (Marshall Matt Dillon).

I DVR Perry Mason on MeTV.  I have about 40 to watch because it is on twice a day.  Now I see it is also recording episoses on Decades TV.  I always notice the credits too.  I  see the names of Florence Bush and Jack Barron on a number of those old shows.  They are better than most of what is on currently.

Cricket, I'm sorry to hear of your upsetting news. Sending you prayers.

You haven't seen Beat Bobby Flay? Since he wasn't doing the Iron Chef America anymore (unless they bring it back) they gave him Beat Bobby Flay. It's different than Throw Down. It's where 2 chefs come to his turf. The 2 cheftestants first have to outcook each other with a secret ingredient of Bobby's choice. Which ever chef wins the first round gets a chance to beat Bobby with their signature dish. Lots of smack talk against Bobby poking fun at him, some lovingly some not. Three judges do a blind taste test to decide the winner at the end. He doesn't always win. Bobby has a gentler, more approachable attitude on this show. I like him on these.

About his private life, I never liked Stephanie. She seemed like her character on Law & Order. All business, stiff, haughty, unable to admit to being human. I've seen her on interviews.

There has been speculation that Bobby and Giada had an affair which precipitated the demise of both of their marriages.

I think it came out that Bobby was with his assistant on and off for a while.  I heard of him and Giada, probably a quickie.  Heard about Giada and John Mayer too.  Giada's marriage was strange.

I saw an ad for BBF but I tend to not like contest shows.  I really liked the chemistry between him and his assistants.  They kept him in check.

Stephanie does seem haughty but I liked her when she was on his shows before they got married.  She spoke of her home State of Texas often.  But she acted like a jerk when he was getting his Walk of Fame Star and she hired a plane to fly over him with a banner that read "CHEATER".  They use to have an instagram for their cat "Tacocat".  It was really cute and funny.  Bobby lost him in the divorce.  He gets a lot of coverage in our NY news.

I'd move to Orlando in a heartbeat. I couldn't do the Midwest. I can handle a hurricane, but tornadoes scare the bejesus out of me.

The hubby wants to stay on the east coast. He likes Virginia because we're 3 hours to D.C., 6 hours to Pennsylvania and 12 hours to both Florida and New England. If we were to move, I'd love to either go to Williamsburg or somewhere on the Pennsylvania/Delaware border. Delaware has no sales tax and we'd be close enough to Lancaster to visit regularly.

A lot to consider. We are thinking about Pennsylvania.  Can't take heat.

So true! Mine also love big twist ties, the bigger the better. Mittens carries them around in her mouth like a dog carrying a stick.

Yes, my girl does that also.  She brings it to me and drops it at my feet.  I throw it and she brings it back.  Any toy that I  pay for is ignored.  My boy loves to bat around fortune cookies.

Invasive you say?  Well, then it's a good thing I haven't been able to root them or have them thrive as many times as I've tried.  :-)

well, you gave it the old college try.  Sounds like you'd do better buying locally and will then know first hand that the plants you buy would thrive in your climate.

Good point Fishy.  That's why I always talk myself out of ordering.

I tried for 3 years buying Cottage Farms and Roberta's plants. None of them did very well.

An 8 piece mini roses TSV grew some. A couple plants never grew and died the first month. The others I had put out leaves but no blooms. They finally put out tiny tiny roses about 3/4" in diameter and they dropped all their leaves. I needed a magnifying glass to appreciate them. I was convinced I didn't have the right fertilizer for them so I splurged on the special QVC container of fertilizer packets. Pfft. Did nothing. Money wasted.

    (2) 3-tiered poodle tree topiaries. Purchased for my front entrance. Was told they'd produce roses pompoms. Of course the ones on QVC were beautiful. Mine never grew at all. They were large dead sticks on arrival. Customer service kept telling me to water and wait. I sent them a picture of them. Got a refund.

I tried other rose bushes from them that didn't green up from the roots, more dead bushes. Strawberries, gloriosa lilies, blueberry hanging basket, Mr Lincoln rose tree (I kept falling for the rose tree gag.) None of them lasted more than 6 months. Some did better than others, but the Texas heat and sun was too much for everything even though my climate zone was well within the recommendation. I watered every day, fertilized, moved in and out of sun if drooping. I practically celebrated every leaf that popped out. Nothing did well. If they were supposed to bloom, all the leaves would fall off before the flowers opened. The flowers faded and some sparse leaves tried to come back. Everything was too fussy even for my pampering.

Every year I'm soooo tempted by the Cottage Farms plants on air, but I remind myself DON'T DO IT. Nothing from them will work. It's not me, it's not my soil ph, it's not watering or fertilizing problems. It's that those plants don't do well in texas.

I've contemplated moving up north someday so I can have a better time gardening. However, getting older is crap. I have some time now to do things like garden but I'm finding my interest and energy in things is waning. Things I used to like to do I'm finding they are "so what". Anyhow, not to be depressing... I plant easier to grow plants for my area that tolerate the sun and heat. If the Hibiscus work well at the front entrace gate and survive this summer, I will consider getting my own next year. Probably not from cottage farms.

Sounds like you tried a good selection from QVC.  Sorry they didn't work for you.  I am hesitant to order online.  They say they will replace them.  I know what you mean about simplifying things.  I am relatively new to growing things and I don't want to waste money.

I've been fascinated with Hibiscus lately, too. Where I live, the landscapers added hibiscus at the entry gate. I didn't know hibiscus could survive the Texas heat. It's got me wanting 2 in pots on my balcony and maybe 1 by the front door. The leaves are such a pretty, glossy, vibrant green.

I have only seen them up close in the Bahamas.  The hotel staff would put them on the bathroom vanity and our pillows when they turned down the bed.  Unfortunately one time they did not shake off the ants.?

My backyard is filled with the hardy Hibiscus.  Plants I've cultivated from a singular plant on the property to all over my back yard and formed them all into tree shapes with continuous pruning.  Another blue flowered plant with a siren song that hypnotized me.  Oh, to turn back the hands of time and re-think THAT!!  They are beautiful in bloom but a bear in maintenance because seedlings sprout absolutely EVERYWHERE if you don't get rid of the seed pods!!!  That was okay when I was young and had limitless energy, but these days, it's becoming a big chore.

Sounds beautiful!  I have a friend in your neck of the woods who also grows beautiful hibiscus.  I always thought they were just for tropical climates.  I don't have much room to plant so I would have to have them in pots.  And they would have to be red?

There are two types of Hibiscus - tropical, which will not survive in New Jersey and has to be treated as an annual grown in pots or even in the ground.  You can overwinter them indoors, if you have room and the inclination.  Can be tricky and it won't look good.  I buy them, grow them in the summer and replace every year.  I'm thinking this is the type you want?

Both types need full sun - the more sun you have means the more flowers you'll have!

I guess this is what I was thinking of.  I'll have to decide if is worth the money since they will have to be replaced.  My yard is very sunny.  I have to avoid it from noon til seven. Thanks for your help.

So after 50+ years I have seen our State butterfly?

Black Honey from Clinique?  They say that is insanely popular.   My store here cannot keep it in Stock.  Fishy, you should give red a go.  You might like it.

I was lucky enough to get the Black Honey in a bonus.  Surprising.

I experimented with cheaper lipsticks to see which red I can wear.  I have to go more towards wine.
