He knew TLC paid the Duggars and he and Jill were not just on for specials.
I think he trusted that JB would do the right thing when they were married and on their own, give them their share. JB may have given them a place to live and thought that was enough, Derick didn't. He says he never saw a contract.

I think what’s coming out from Derrick now is the rage that develops when you realize the harm that someone has caused someone you love (and I think he loves Jill and his children). Of course filming takes you to the brink of insanity - we can probably count on one hand popular reality TV personas that have made it through mentally intact. Add in the incredibly destructive brainwashing and control of the Duggars (you need to be 2 people - one for popular consumption, one for Jesus? Got hard? Church? ) All of them are probably insane already.
Derrick is the only in-law - the ONLY one - (ok maybe Jer but he’s a grifter too) to break off from what we all recognize is the toxicity of Duggardom. Buying a house, going to law school, working, and forcing his wife to live a relatively normal life is huge.wow, just read his comments, seems while Jessa was in labor she wanted Jill there and Jill couldn't go to the big house until JB approved it.

Was just sitting here reading comments & rubbed my head (habit lol), my head tends to get sore spots sometimes. She was talking about wearing her hair up all the time, ponytails.....i can't imagine that, my head would be sore all the time.

Lauren is beyond the pale to me. I do like Kendra, but her teeth are reminiscent of ultra white chiclets to me and I can't look at anything else when she's talking.
I too was hospitalized for morning sickness, that seemed to drag on all day.....I have never been so sick in all my life, miserable is an understatement. This was during my first pregnancy, I was told that if I had it with my first I wouldn't have it with my second...wrong. It was worse because I was trying to take care of a 2.5 year old. I don't wish that on anyone, well except maybe Lauren 😁🤣

JB & M trying to name the grands in birth order....he does a terrible job but her answer, "I'm terrible at dates but faces I can remember" huh 🤔 wow, like someone else said by the end of this year with the pregnant women giving birth they'll have to wear name tags at Thanksgiving.

At her age, I didn't live in quint chaos, I didn't have cameras shoved in my face, and I often was unable to manage my anxiety without having epic meltdowns. Fortunately for me, my parents said my distress was obvious and to think I was just pullng a stunt would have been ridiculous. And as annoying as Adam can be, Parker is lucky to have a parent who truly gets it, is her advocate, and with whom she's so close. I'm confident she'll grow into her own over the years, as will the other girls, and as did we. (-:
I think he'll be her advocate until she tells him she doesn't want to be filmed anymore, that's their bread & butter.
