This is super random, but it made me smile:

They cast Ralph Dibny: Also some new info on the character:

Ah, Thank you! I should have checked it better, sorry! I think one of the big events is a wedding, Grant said that the thinks the reason everyone will meet up will be a fun one this time, but the other might be some big comic book event. I've seen Wendy Mericle say several times now that comic book fans will be happy and Marc said that even the title will get people talking (or excited or something like that), so it's probably an event that is known by the title alone. I'm not that knowledgeable when it comes to that, so I have no idea. If they're going to involve the Legion of Superheroes on Supergirl maybe that could tie into the crossovers. I think they're a team from the future (that's what I read on wiki anyway).

Iris is part of the team and since the team discussions happen mostly at Star Labs she has every right to be there. People can doubt her contributions if they want, that's not for me to decide for them, but she has saved the day more than once and her being there at the console has saved the day multiple times. People like to downplay her speeches (but only when she's the one giving them) but those speeches have saved the day more than once, they're still important. There is nothing wrong with not being a scientist or a fighter and using the pure power of words to have an impact. So yes, she absolutely has her place there. As does everyone who is part of team Flash. HR, etc, etc. Would I like to see her more at CCPN, sure, absolutely. I'd love to see them make her a TV reporter, which maybe could be more easily be interwoven in he action and storyline. I'd love to see them moving away from Star Labs a bit and involving Central City more and going back to stories at the police station like they used to have. But the truth is for some reason the show has cut down on showing all characters outside of Star Labs. Ironically, Iris is one of the few characters who has an actual life outside of Star Labs( home life, job etc) The only ones we know stuff about outside Star Labs are the Wests and Barry and that's mostly their home life. We barely see either Joe or Barry at CCPD or working at their job anymore. After Julian joined Team Flash I don't think we saw him at his job much either. We don't really know much about Cisco and Caitlin outside of Star Labs, is Barry their official employer now or do they have another job outside of Star Labs to pay the bills? Ok, sort of rant over, sorry! :) As for being qualified, I don't think this is a case of who is most qualified, but of necessity and who, in their grief, is willing or able to step in. The team lost three team members, one of them being their leader Barry. There are only four of them left (if Harry is not there). So more then ever Iris has a place in the team and Star Labs if they want to keep things going. Neither Wally and Cisco ever went into the field alone much, so them teaming up makes sense. Even in that sad future, the team was pretty lost without Barry (which granted probably had more to do with what Savitar did and what Killerfrost did to Cisco's hands than necessarily Barry being gone). Iris is highly motivated because of the promise she made, plus she's trying to not think about her grief and pain so she's channeling everything she has in this. I think Cisco was the obvious choice for team leader, but it's possible he's distracted because he's also working on the secret project and I think Iris tends to have a cool head even during tough situations so I have no problem with the idea of her channeling everything in keeping the mission going. And we've seen in missions before that even if she didn't know the specific science, she was the one who was like, Ok, here's what we're going to do, you do this, while we do this etc. So there's enough precedent for her being able to oversee the situation clearly enough to make decisions without being bogged down by details. A completely different topic: I saw somewhere that Melissa Benoist said the crossovers would have 2 big events that people would lose their minds over (don't know the specific words she used), but I can't seem to find the source or the real quote. Anyone heard of this and knows where it's from? (I apologize if this has been discussed already, I only checked the last page).

Yeah. Maybe the reason they announced it so late might have been because they were still negotiating. I think Julian had a bigger reason to be there (Alchemy) but they sort of forgot. The moment they realized Savitar was out of the Speedforce the show should have picked that up again for his character, even if it was just him being afraid that he'd be taken over again. Julian and Caitlin had some cute moments, so I don't think it was a waste of time, maybe if/when he come back they'll pick it up again. Looks like Tracy might be back at some point:

Julian wasn't my fav, but I think his bluntness added something to the team, but perhaps they felt that dynamic was too similar to what Harry brings? Plus his relationship with Caitlin seems unfinished. He was part of the team for about half a season and part of the show for (almost) a full season, if they knew he was leaving the should have given the character a better send off. At least have the team say goodbye. I think the only on of the three characters they were casting for that we haven't had any casting announcement for yet is Ralph Dibny, right? I wonder if they'll bring in Sue Dibny (his wife in the comics), too or if they have other plans for the character. I think I remember the casting notice said they were looking for someone in their thirties, right?

I'm also on board for a crossover wedding, but I don't mind if it's later in the season. But I haven't written off a crossover wedding for them either. Something about the way they were acting when Ausiello brought up November... I think at this point I'm 80% that there will be a wedding during the crossovers, and because of what Grant said that that wedding will be the reason everyone gets together for the crossovers. Whose wedding that is however is still to be determined. If it's really the really the reason people get together it could point to it being someone on Supergirl since that's the first episode of the crossovers, but it's possible that they all go there for pre-wedding celebrations.

I wonder why they were so secretive about it? Perhaps they initially signed a one year deal and negotiations fell through? He seemed pretty willing to return and they didn't end his storyline in 3x23, so it didn't seem like he was leaving either. I'm pretty sure the Comic Con TVGuide article said they had signed a deal for her to recur, so I hope that means Cynthia is still coming back. Especially since they even cast an actor to play her father.

So much interviews, it's going to take a while to gather my thoughts! As far as Barry and Iris getting married goes, after Comic Con, I still think it'll be this season. The go to avoidance of the question seemed to be, we need to get Barry out of the Speed Force first. But in ET's interview when the interviewer mentioned they'd need to plan the wedding when Barry came back they at first just agreed. Only after she askedspecifically if it would be this season they said stuff like, we need to get Barry out of the Speedforce first. In the TvLine interview Todd said they're engaged and that their relationship will progress. If Barry comes out of the Speed Force 'scrambled' and Iris feeling the need to work on communicating certain things it might takes some time, though. I did think their reaction to Michael Ausiello mentioning the November date on the Save the Dates was interesting... And when he asked what a wedding might look like the tease was 'big'. Todd said that it'd be different than Caitlin's marriage to Ronnie (which was very impromptu and small), him being able to claim that makes me think he has/they have already thought/talked about it at least. Grant said in one of the interviews that he thinks that the reason people will meet up for the next crossover is going to be a happy one. That can be anything, and even if it is a wedding it doesn't have to be Barry and Iris' (since both Stephen and David have said Olicity will get married in S6). But it's interesting. I even saw someone suggesting Joe and Cecile could be getting married.

Some panel tweets. I'm really tired, so I'm just posting a few. There are lots more:
-
Trailer! Looks good! -Iris has the opening talk! -We're getting to see how Iris feels + Iris is leading things! -Cisco working on a way to get Barry out. -Caitlin is back. Her hair is back to normal. She seems different. -Is that a different suit that the Barry that's running has? I've seen people say it's the 2024 suit...

I'm back, I'll start posting some stuff again, but it will be just as I find it, so it might be all over the place timeline wise!

Not super spoilery ( I think), but since they talk about season 4
-
This is probably my favorite one ?

Or should this be in the News and Media section?

That is a nice promo! And I'm happy they used Iris' voice (even if they only showed Kid Iris and Comic Iris). Pleasantly surprised by that.
