  1. only dropped to a 0.9! That's great! And I'm hopeful they will rise again next week.
  2. This show is overcrowded imo. There are way too many characters and I think the main character, Kara, is suffering because of it. I even like all the new characters for the most part (yes, even Mon-El---although that's mostly because I just can't dislike Chris Wood). It's not that I really want any of them to go, but there are just too many people on a show that really shouldn't be an ensemble cast. It seems like every episode there are one ore two characters completely missing...and most of the time there is too much going on to even notice. I honestly think Chyler has stolen this show from Melissa. She is the real mvp this season. She's done a fantastic job---and I really wasn't a big Alex fan last season, so she has vastly climbed up the character ranks for me! I'm still not too sold on the guardian story but I understand why they are doing it. They have to figure out a way to incorporate James into more of the DEO/Superhero stuff. They didn't even have a scene at Catco this episode, and the DEO has not become the setting for the majority of the episode. If I was a writer, I'd cut Catco out altogether. There is no need for it without Cat Grant there. I'm also 100% convinced Mon-El is the prince of Daxam. He lied about who he is and how he escaped. After Alex's "coward" speech and they way he acts regarding being a hero---I think he fled the planet instead of staying behind with his people. Maybe he's ashamed of that. I definitely agree with others comparing him to Spike from Buffy. lol. I've had that same thought numerous times already. I also agree with those up thread complaining about the show's constant political themes. I follow a few of the writers on twitter and they are all VERY vocal about their political viewpoints. Which is totally fine!! But because of that, I can tell when I watch that many of their opinions bleed over into some the show's political themes. But at this point, I just expect it and don't get too worked up about it.
  3. Would have liked to see it rise a bit more from last week but I guess the fact that it ticked up at all was still good.
  4. Is anyone else suspicious that the call to release Roulette came from...Lena? It was pretty much my first thought. Lena is obviously not all good. That look at the end of her scene with kara and the "I know you'll be there for me when the time come." Yeah, something's not right with her. It also seems obvious there are three main pairs with J'onn/M'gann, Alex/Maggie and Kara/Mon-El. I'm 100% convinced they all will turn romantic at some point and all seem to have the same underlying theme of finding companionship and someone to relate to. Someone they can connect with so they aren't...alone. So far I'm invested in all of them right now. J'onn, Alex, and Kara remain imo the heart of the show. So seeing all three of them getting their own individual arcs is nice. I do feel like we are due for a Kara/Alex sister scene though---and that's coming from someone who thought it was excessive last season and began rolling my eyes every time they declared their sister love for each other. Sorry, but I didn't miss James at all and the episode only reaffirms (for me at least) that this show doesn't need that character. Maybe what they have in store for him coming up will get him more involved with the action. Because right now he's not involved in the SUPERGIRL side of the show. Agree with others who don't care for the 'kara is a reporter' part of the show. It's not necessary, she's terrible at it, and it isn't getting enough screen time for me to really give a damn about it.
  5. Next week should be a good indicator for what is going on with the ratings, if it doesn't bounce back up to above a 0.6 and certainly if it drops more, then that is definitely cause for concern
  6. Looks like Halloween hit the show hard last night. Scored a .6 in the demo. (I realize using Halloween as an excuse is "fan excuse bingo" lol) The show is fine. But a 1.1 to a .6 after four episodes?? I hope it rises back up to .8 next week.
  7. Synopsis for episode 6: A parasite alien that drains Kara of her power. Didn't we already do that in season one? Seems a bit quick to already be recycling plots
  8. I'm thinking they probably are holding someone Supergirl cares about captive and so she must stand in and fight to try and get them back. Maybe Miss Martian? Or Mon-El? I think the synopsis for the episode says supergirl begins to train Mon-El. So I'm wondering if maybe he gets taken and she and J'onn have to go get him. Otherwise, yeah...there is no way they can catch Supergirl and make her fight in their underground fight club.
  9. Eh, Mon-El and Kara have had basically two scenes together. And I guess I'm in the minority, but I thought they were good. I especially liked the scene with them bickering back and forth between the glass. I don't think I'm ready to throw in the towel on the potential for that to develop and be interesting yet. It's still far too early for me. I still think Kara had the best chemistry with Barry. I realize it will NEVER happen, but Grant and Melissa have serious chemistry together imo As for Lena, there is just something sexy about Katie McGrath. They way she carries herself, her voice...it's very enticing! I think I would ship her with ANYONE she shares a scene with. lol. And right now that's only been Kara.
  10. Sorry, I have to say it, but the worst part of the is episode was Melissa. I thought her acting was HORRIBLE. What happened with her portrayal because normally she's so good?? And I have been such a fan of hers since Glee season 4, but she is seriously overacting imo. Everything from her facial expressions to her line delivery is just really cringy and it bothered me throughout the entire episode. This also might be part of the reason why I found Kara to be extremely annoying tonight. This is the most unlikeable she has ever been to me. EVER. Now that I got that off my chest... I enjoyed the episode but did find it quite preachy. I applauded snapper for calling Kara out on her biased article. He was right. I LOVE all three of the new characters introduced tonight. Maggie is fantastic! The chemistry is great with Chyler and that ship has definitely launched. I thought Mon-El was awesome as well. Loved his sarcasm with Kara and laughed out loud when he said "what's a...pres-iii-bent??" haha. I've thought Chris Wood has been good in all his other roles and I think he'll be good here as well. I like the conflict between Krypton and Daxam and I think it will be nice to see Kara and Mon-El work through that as they get to know each other better. I'm excited to see more of M'gann and for J'onn to find a companion. J'onn is a really heartbreaking character to watch so I'm looking forward to seeing him make a connection with someone other than the Danvers girls. Didn't miss Winn much this episode. I really like Lena and think she (and Maggie) are a major upgrade from Lucy last season. By far more interesting characters! I do think Lena will ultimately be bad though and we will see her turn more toward the dark side as the season progresses. All in all, good episode. I still think this season is much better than last season and you can tell they have tried to really make some strong changes from things that didn't work so well last season. I did miss Cat though :(
  11. What I find absolutely remarking is Supernatural, IN IT'S 12TH SEASON, pulled a 0.8 for it's premiere. It was CW's #3 show! That's only a tenth lower than Supergirl's recent episode. The longevity of that show is just astounding to me. It may run for 20 seasons! LOL
  12. Same. I was hoping it would stay in the 1.0-1.2 range for the first several episodes of the season. If they are going to START at a .9-1.0 range, then we might in for some real lows come springtime (when ratings naturally drop)
  13. I'm predicting next week will launch three new 'ships': Maggie and Alex, Kara and Mon-El, and J'onn and M'gann. One thing I'm suspicious about though is there may not be much variety in how they establish the romances. Seems like all three ships could be built from the pairs initially being antagonistic toward each other.
  14. I've been seeing quite a few articles hoping and hinting at a Superman spin off. I'd be okay with that except they have made Kara's story SOOOO much like Clark's, it might be difficult to make a show that wasn't too much of the same. Sad to hear about Calista. That honestly doesn't sound too promising they will get her back. I believe they are already around episode 8. And they still can't reach an agreement to have her appear again? Interesting they are making Kara and Mon-El (and their respective planets) somewhat of antagonists.
  15. It was a good episode. So far the show seems to be far better on the CW than it was on CBS. It won't be the same without Cat Grant. I wish they had left her appearing more open ended and mysterious. This seemed very VERY final as far I'm concerned. I still would have loved to hear her say "Kara" on the balcony after supergirl flew off. She has to know Kara is Supergirl!!! Come on writers, give it to us!! Both her good-bye scenes with Kara was so sweet and really reminded why I love this show. Cat as a mentor to Kara is something I'm going to miss. Alex is a such a badass and this episode really made me question I like J'onn so much and find him to be such a complicated character. I really like when get more in depth about his past and his overall character. I enjoyed the Superman/Martian Manhunter team up and their scene in the fortress was a favorite of mine tonight. Also when little girl shape shifted---yesss!! Nice one J'onn. DEO Winn is a much better but he is seriously just Cisco, except with shorter hair and a tucked in shirt. Oh well, all the Berlanti shows have this type of character so I'm not surprised by the direction they've gone with Winn in season 2. I did like Superman (more than I thought I would) and I do think his relationship with Kara is important. I don't need to see Superman too often but I would be fine with him dropping in throughout the season. Tyler and Melissa have a nice platonic chemistry on camera. They know each other pretty well in real life and you can tell. There is relationship there that reminds of how Melissa and Grant were on screen together. I thought the Metallo villains were boring. Cadmus is okay as a big bad but it felt pretty cheesy. The leather aprons, and the horror-film staging had me rolling my eyes. But this is a superhero show so I will excuse the cheesiness quite frequently. Mon-El is awake!! ...and then he strangled Kara. Yikes.
