Well, I really liked some of the camera angles and shot choices Felix Alcala (sp?) made. Instead of the 'everyone's sitting around the round table throwing out their ideas/theories/thoughts...long shot, show them all, medium shot of the speaker, close up of the speaker next time usual kind of stuff..... (and I noticed this because of course, when Reid is on screen, he's the only one I see anyway, even if there are six other beings in the shot) director had the camera *follow* Reid as he walked along behind the table to his seat, as he spoke about the crime/unsub (blah blah, I wasn't really listening, I was LOOKING) and it was nice to see movement rather than a static shot of talking heads.. Then again, instead of a plain close up of Tara and Derek each as they spoke, the camera taped the scene from *behind* Reid, so the side of his face and HIS JAWLINE were in the shot of um, er, Tara? Derek? whoever! who cares! There was a bit of a focus pull moving focus from his head to Tara? Derek? whoever! Again later, when Rossi was giving Tara the pep talk, the camera was like the third person (the audience!) in the conversation, as though it (so, I) was a participant as well. I thought that was really effective . Overall, too much was telegraphed though. Knew the unsub was not gonna be a resident, knew the cop's daughter was gonna be the Damsel in Distress of the week. Oh, and I didn't like that Reid and Morgan were partnered up initially here but when takedown time came, Tara went with Morgan. WTF?! Oh I know, they needed to have Tara do the shooting, but still....grrrrrr..... and as usual, just not enough Reid for my liking...........

wow, I am SO happy to see I'm not the only one in that mindset. It was Revelations that finally broke my resistance to watching this show in the first place (me, kicking and screaming nope, no way! don't like gruesome stuff!..my son, home for reading week at university, said, oh you gotta watch this one, it's soooo good. well okay.... that was last February.) I watch *because* of Reid, despite the fact that I 1. usually don't like police/crime shows much 2. really hate the gore/gruesome stuff 3. find the writing awful at times. I persevere *because* of Matthew Gray Gubler's performance. And it looks like I ain't the only one! yay! :D

If Reid's leaving, so am I :-( *starts waterworks*

that is sooooo ME! I belong to a Facebook group where we do a lot of photo editing of Mr Gubler/Spencer... one of my friends posted just The. Most. Fabulous. Image. ever of him yesterday, so I was showing a couple of my coworkers today.....all of us are old enough to be Reid/MGG's mother, but we all fawned like 14 year olds. It was hilarious. Then the department manager came by and asked to see (because my iPhone really isn't supposed to be out in the first place) and she took one look at him and said "Is that your husband?!" The three other women laughed, I managed to blurt out "Oh, I wish. <laugh> Nah, he's an actor." and the boss says "Well I sure wouldn't throw him out of bed for eating crackers!" Then there was a pause. Then she wanted to know who he was. So, Criminal Minds will have a new fan starting tomorrow night apparently.

Yay!!! I've been surfing around looking for a non-Facebook related, Reid friendly Criminal Minds forum... Yay! As I was telling someone in PM, I adore all things Reid and/or MGG and couldn't take the hate I was finding elsewhere, I already have my husband for that! ("What's so great about him anyway? He never shuts up!" etc--and he wonders why I watch CM in the backroom with the headphones on and the door closed, away from HIM! LOL) :::fixes coffee and settles in to reid, er, read the forum:::

Jones...... and whatever he was drinking was in a beautiful brandy snifter glass.....in Aftermath, they were just guzzling down the little mini bottles from the hotel room minibar. He was also nursing a glass of wine at JJ's & Will's wedding, and another while sitting around a celebration with the rest of the team (I don't recall the occasion or the episode). Dunno if *Reid* has ever addressed drinking/alcohol on the show, I don't recall so. But Matthew has. He's not much of a drinker, I've seen several photos of him at parties etc where he's holding a wineglass but he's said he'll make one glassful last all night, cause he's just not a fan.

Reid got to be the smart one again! We see him doing the geographic profile. He's researching, reading, and he's seen deep in concentration, his attention to details breaks open the case and not once is he scorned or made fun of or have someone roll their eyes at him. SmartReid is back tonight! Let's keep it that way please. And I still think the five of them is plenty. No need to keep recasting. Once JJ's back, let's just keep those five. Tara is superfluous IMHO

oh, qwerty! Danke!! Danke very much! geez, I shoulda known that. Mucho Reid in that episode and I'm sure I've seen it (more than once!) . Well it's a crappy, rainy day here today. No chance for nice outdoorsy things. So, gee, maybe I'll fire up the external memory drive and screencap this one. And play with it. I'll play nicely. Although it drives me nuts that I can make huuuuuuuuge extreme closeups of things on my computer, and save them that way (hipbone will be an 14x24 by the time I'm done tonight, a weird but nice partner to the 14 x24 of his eyes, showing contact lenses) but when I save and upload them to somewhere, it's back to a max of 3x4 :-( . why does the internet do this to us? Also, along the same lines, how does someone share jpgs or pdfs with this group anyway? I'm not familiar with the format here :-( In Facebook, you just upload the stuff to the groups 'photos' or 'files' section. I've done hundreds of photo edits of OhMyGoodGod (that'd be Matthew/Reid) and would love to share some of those with anyone interested. I have a photobucket and an imgur account (I think). But I don't have somewhere to upload fanfiction too, not a fanfiction.net member or the one someone recommended here, archive of our own. And anyway, I wouldn't begin to know how to break the stupid thing up into small enough pieces to post. In the past, fanfiction I've always just sent in txt form by email to anyone interested. (That was the Star Trek world, years ago) I have to say, I'm really loving this forum so far, everyone is so welcoming. And tolerant. Iffen ya know what I mean. Thank you all for your welcomes <3 RF

I was terrified. Watched this episode while tightly clutching my stuffed polar bear that I take along when I have to do something terrifying, like flying. Anyway, bless her poor little heart, Iceberg got a terrible workover.... I was yelling at Hotch "WAIT! WAIT for backup!" and of course he didn't listen to me. My husband, a cop who hates Criminal Minds (most police dramas actually "they're so not realistic!") was sitting across from me while it was on, rolling his eyes but keeping his disparaging comments to himself for the most part. And when That Scene occurred, I lost it. JJ is not the only one who emoted "Spence is down!" I was already beside myself in tears and then in quick succession Rossi and Morgan too... I'm a mess, Iceberg's a sodden mess and my husband says "You realise, of course, that that Hotch guy is imagining all this, right?" *facepalm*

I thought of more signs I'm obsessed...... -when you change the family computer password, and your husband asks "Who's Spencer?" -chess is now considered cool. -you're watching Criminal Minds and don't acknowledge that your phone is ringing because the ringtone is the theme song and you're watching the show so.....

oh damn! and under 'favourite ones you'll watch over and over' I missed "Conflicted" and "Elephant's Memory" and "Rock Creek Park" (just for the Reid & Loker scenes)

at the risk of sounding 15...... *yummy*!! in high def, that close up was so detailed you could actually see Matthew's contact lenses on his eyes. Unfortunately, it was so close up, it made for a crappy screen capture, too much of his head was cut off...Oh well, I'll take it!

Oh, that was lovely CS....I loved the friendship and understanding there was between Alex and Spencer, and you captured it beautifully here. So well done :) and LOL, it's not that I'm not a shipper, I *am* but I'm just extremely fussy about who Reid is shipped with. :) I wrote Reid/Loker myself... I'd buy Reid/original female character or Reid/female other than Elle/Emily/JJ/Blake/Kate etc.
