  1. I know and I don't fault her for her mistake. But I still cringed when she mentioned China lol.
  2. I don't think she's evil. She just has abandonment issues and heightened emotional stuff due to puberty and having the werewolf gene. Kol gave her the idea when when Hayley said 'I'll always forgive you.' That just sealed the deal. She's shortsighted, which is something she probably gets from both of her parents, but she's also a teen who idolizes her dad. I did find it funny that Hayley is able to call out Hope's behaviour and discipline her, but everyone else walks on eggshells to appeal to her emotions. There's a reason why Hope picked Hayley and it's not only because Klaus would come, it's because everyone would believe her if Hayley isn't around.
  3. I kind of cringed when Joy first said that Moon Jae In was from China, but thankfully someone said he's from South Korea. I like her. I don't always agree with her, but her awkwardness and humour are kind of endearing and unlike MM, I can tell that she gets along with the other women after the cameras are off. Plus, it was funny watching how irate Whoopi got when she was a full time member. Her question to Michael also shows how she's different from MM. MM brought up how Trump's family would feel by this news, while Paula asked about the timeline which is a valid question. MM brought nothing to the table, while with Paula we got a better understanding of how everything happened. It may have been a 'Gotcha' question, but I think it's okay if it adds more to the interview and provides us with more information about the case.
  4. That's true, which is why she always goes after Joy. What she doesn't understand is that the only reason that split screen happened was because Rosie wasn't feeling it that day. I'm in the minority, but that moment was all Rosie's fault, since she brought a personal matter on the show. The thing is, and what Meghan doesn't remember, is that Elisabeth and Rosie got along before that point. Elisabeth started opening up more and I believe they visited each other's places too. They were kind of like friends before this point, which is why the conversation was emotionally heated. I agreed with Rosie's point and didn't feel like she should have been attacked by Fox, but she shouldn't have brought up on the show like that. After this, Elisabeth took a nose dive for the worst since people didn't take her seriously for her views. Meghan needs to be more like Jed and Ana and even Paula in saying their piece and respecting different opinions. That will get her more jobs in the future, instead of being laughed at for not taking a joke.
  5. I know most will talk about Joy and Meghan getting at it again (I feel like Joy really doesn't care for Meghan at all. But more than that, she was fine with everyone before, even Elisabeth, so it's crazy just how quickly Joy soured on Meghan) Anyways, instead of talking about them, I just want to mention that Sunny's tea drinking game is still on point. She's truly my favourite part whenever Meghan and Joy go at each other.
  6. Right. I'm not saying that Joy was wrong in her assertion that the Simpsons has tons of stereotypes and generalizations of different groups of people. There was a joke that the Italian chef mentioned that he doesn't speak Italian, he just speaks in broken English. So I do get it. But at the same time, I think comparing Apu to the Italian mobsters/chefs isn't entirely the same thing, because the show has many different white (yellow really) characters that you can choose from. Someone could be Italian and you'd never know, while Apu doesn't have that. He was the only Indian character and the only one that a lot of people knew of when it came to Indians/South Asians. I might be explaining it wrong, but this is the gist that I got from the documentary. That and the fact that Apu is voiced by a white guy doing an accent. I don't think she did either. But in this context, she shouldn't have brought up the Italians or Scottish stereotype when compared to the only Indian one on the show. That's why it was a bit tone deaf, even though she did bring up a good point.
  7. Regarding the Apu thing, I think Joy is right that there are many different stereotypes, but she mentioned only white characters, while Apu is the one of the two main POC on the show. So when she was complaining about the Italian stereotypes, it came off a bit tone deaf. Edit: Someone might go to a brown person and use an Apu voice to taunt them, while if you're Italian no one will know unless you say something. That's why it was a problem for so many South Asians. It was their only representation and it was a white guy who over exaggerated the Indian-ness of the guy. I'm not South Asian, but a similar thing would be when you see Muslim characters as terrorists or the 'non practicing' Muslim who are progressive. Then you get people coming up to you and asking if your dad/husband oppresses you just because you wear a hijab. When the only representation is a negative one or an over exaggeration, it's never a good thing. One more edit: Here in Canada, CBC's Marketplace did a special on the nasty stuff on makeup samples. It makes sense though, which is why I think I might check out the Beauty of Dirty Skin to see what else it has to says.
  8. I don't know if that's true. I sound youngish and nothing happened to me as a child. It might suck for some people, but I kind of love it. It helps me get rid of telemarketers when I talk on the phone, since they assume I'm not over 18.
  9. Can someone explain this to this lost Canadian. I'm younger than Meghan, so I didn't understand why she brought Hoover up or why the others laughed. Edit: Ah, never mind this. I looked on google and remembered that he was the one who caused the death of Fred Hampton and tons of black panther activists, invented the rumour that the Black Panthers wanted to kill every white person (when they actually ran socialist programs that helped everyone regardless of race) and he placed surveillance on Martin Luther King Jr and Malcom X (and any other key figure in the civil right's movement). The man was a nutter. And someone who was openly racist. 'Real Racism' if you will. Edit: I wonder if she'll address why she brought him up on Monday. I think she should, considering how horrible the man was.
  10. I was surprised that the show spent so much time on Stormy. I thought she'd be on for a segment or two, but that wasn't the case at all. It also felt like there were less commercials this time around. Do you think it will be the same for tomorrow?
  11. Thursday and Friday will be rush jobs. They really need to stop booking more than one guest, the amount of ads and commercials just don't allow for a conversation to happen.
  12. Come into the dark side! I may not agree with everything Paula says, but I like her vibe with the other cohosts and the fact that she is able to share her opinions without sounding mechanical. She was also the one who got Kellyanne to admit that Trump did business with Cuba during the embargo on the show.
  13. I wish I could say I was excited about this season, but I'm not.
  14. I'm glad that it's after Ramadan and the World Cup. Can't wait for it to come back.
  15. Season 2 of Trial & Error which stars Sherri, is coming back on July 19. I can't wait, since the show is awesome and Sherri is just delightful on it. http://deadline.com/2018/04/kristin-chenoweth-trial-error-lady-killer-season-2-debut-1202363050/
  16. The show is just a little over 30 minutes at best. It's not the Kardashians that are taking up too much time, it's the fact that the segments are only given 5 minutes before it goes into another 5 minutes worth of commercials.
  17. You wouldn't be alone in thinking this. A lot of people turned away from the NFL due to their treatment of Colin. Unfortunately, the majority of viewers are like Meghan, which is why they won't bring him back. Speaking out about the flag or cops is a no no, but abuse and sexual harassment seems okay. I was surprised that Meghan didn't lash out at Nathan Lane when he said anyone with a rational mind wouldn't think Trump is doing a good job.
  18. I really enjoy it when Paula is on, because you can tell she gets along with the other hosts. She's also meant to give Republican talking points, but I feel like she does it better than Meghan. The NFL topic is a great example. Meghan spoke at length about it's disrespectful to her and she'd boycott the NFL if it happened. While Paula was like, Colin was a great QB, so he should be playing. And he should be allowed to kneel whenever he wants. But from a business standpoint, the fans will turn away and they are your source of income. Meghan spoke after, which pretty much proved Paula's point. Colin is a talented athlete who should play, but it's because of unreasonable fans that he won't even get a chance. Sunny hit it out of the park though, by saying that if the NFL can forgive abuse and drugs, then they should be more than okay with this. Paula agreed, but Meghan didn't counter this point.
  19. I know people are hating on MM, and with good reason, but I still don't want her to leave. The revolving door of conservatives needs to stop and I'd rather MM get better than for her to just leave. Also, the ratings has gone up so ABC won't fire her unless she gets too crazy. What needs to happen is for them to sit her down and teacher how to have a normal discussion where people can share their views without sounding like how she's been sounding.
  20. It was mentioned in the blooper episode. A lot of things were, but we never got to see it. That's why I can't really hate her, because she reminds me of Christina. Both have insecurity issues and put up a front to keep people out, but they're super fragile for whatever reason. And yes Law sucks. lol. This is also why I felt like Christina wasn't all that bad. She gave him flak multiple times and she's doing well for herself now.
  21. I have no idea why we spent so much time on Brendi K. We learned that Shanice also had a rough childhood and I'd argue that Jeana had it even worse, yet we spent episode after episode on Brendi K. Her home life wasn't great, she had to deal with losing her hair, she was foster care and raped and abused multiple times. The blooper episode made fun of the fact that Jeana cries a lot, but considering her past it makes perfect sense. It's also understandable why she posed for Playboy and finds it empowering. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see any of that on the show. ANTM was renewed for a couple of more seasons, so I'm curious to see what they do moving forward. This season wasn't good. Thankfully we started to get more deliberations during the latter episodes, but by then it was almost too little too late. I really hope they fire Law. He has no business on this show and I don't need to hear about his sex life or what he wants to do to an equally gross designer.
  22. The tea sipping from Sunny was hilarious. I liked how she pretty much said what Joy said to really seal in the deal. I wonder why Whoopi didn't try to stop this conversation though. Did TPTB tell her not to do anything?
  23. I definitely agree with you. She's still young, so she's trying to figure out her voice, but I'd like to think she'll grow up and mature with her views and her level of activism.
  24. I have to defend Kyla's activist thing, because I think the show didn't do her any justice by what she believes. In the blooper episode, she mentioned that she got more involved in being an activist after her friend was murdered. She's still young, which is why she wasn't able to communicate properly with Liberty and was immature about things, but I do think she has a reason for want to bring change and whatnot. You did remind me that Tyra called Kyla a biracial butterfly, which should only be used on Jade, but um...isn't Jeana also biracial? Seems weird to only call one girl that and ignore the other.
  25. Law's hate for Khrystiana is probably because he wants to the gross designer in his bedroom. With the panel, Law is the only one who doesn't add anything to the show. Drew is annoying at times, but he does have his moments. Law adds nothing but snide and disgusting comments. I didn't like the designer before, but then he made Khrys cry. Why would you do that? She's probably going to be the most successful one out of this bunch, so I'm glad she won't have to deal with him again and be stuck with this show. It's funny how much Drew and Jeana don't like each other. The interview that he does with the models who leave was hilariously awkward when it was with Jeana. I'm okay with Kyla winning, but the way the judges were talking about the two finalists it should have been Jeana. (Remember Tyra's words of how our definition of beauty is based on a lie) She fit the brand of the season, even though she was got weird in the end. Pantene was probably the one who picked Kyla, so that's why she won.
