What state are they in? How much longer is she going to be teaching?
Well she said she was given the OK maybe it's different because they are adults? Also he is probably not a student any more.

I feel like the universe is punking me, or these forums are renting too much space in my head - or both.
Three articles in less than 30 minutes:
- One was about some young boys getting lost in a sewer system.
- One was a horribly sad story, but included home schooling.
- And the last one, only those who also visit the Sisters Wives thread will get, is about a very old turtle becoming a dad, part of the headline read, a very big dill.
Well his name is Mr. Pickles.

The ad for some dog meds featuring a dog on an agility course made up of fleas, ticks and a huge tapeworm or something that's supposed to be one of the tunnels on an agility course. Disturbing to say the least. Who green lighted that?
I don't know but it bothers me also. I do wonder what they were on the they had the idea to make this commercial.

Well, we know of a non relative FF sexually assaulted. It is possible that there are more. Given how the victims are blamed in their circles I can see victims not coming forward. The girls ended up locked in their dormitory at night when FF should have been the one locked up.
The lock was on their side of the door so they did have a bit of control, probably the only control they had in their lives.

Well, there, Jewish here too, and I understand where you were coming from as a child. Same here. But, we outgrew it and Leon hasn't. It must give them some kind of satisfaction to do that, as an adult.
PS I am still mildly irked when people who absolutely do know I am Jewish and don't celebrate Christmas Still ask me if I am ready for and what am I doing for Christmas! But, I just remind them kindly.
--------------------
This happens to me too. My friend's mother in law knows I'm Jewish, comments on it as though I may be the only Jewish person she knows, what a novel thing to be -- then asks me what I am doing for Easter.
Tell you have no hard and fast plan for Easter but the day after you are going to buy a lot of discounted candy.

So just the opposite of what they think is manly. By the way I have no problem whatsoever with a man carrying a bag, no matter what you call it, they need a place to put their stuff to.

I just went back to look at it and thought the same thing. It does look like a Bible cover.

It is ridiculous! If I gave my husband a shirt like that, he would think I had a break down.
Is it the way he is holding the shirt or is the spacing of on the letters? The ampersand looks to close to the m. It could be just me but the spacing seems wonky.

The cursive found in historical documents is not the same as the cursive that I learned back in the 80s. Reading those historical documents is still difficult when you can read and write 20th century cursive. There were a lot of variants of cursive being used depending on where and when the documents originated. Writing implements have changed and the pen and ink used in historical documents does affect their readability. Then there's the age of the documents and how they were stored. There are a lot of factors that can make the handwriting of the past look unreadable to modern eyes and the knowledge of cursive or lack of said knowledge is not always a factor in being able to read them.
This is true but you can puzzle it out if you wish. I will admit it gives me a headache but I can read a lot of the historical documents, Declaration of Independence ect. I am not saying it is either good or bad not to be able to read or write cursive just responding to why some people think it is a good idea.

So apparently the gun in the Rust shooting has been destroyed by the State. Either through testing or deliberately, its not clear. Which means the Defense has no access to it to do their own testing. This is going to be a MASSIVE problem. Like drop the charges level massive. This prosecution has been a mess. First the DA has to drop the gun enhancement charge because the facts don't fit the criteria. Now this.
How in the world did that happen!!! Yes, I understand you do not know, but I cannot even begin to imagine how someone would destroy a gun.

I do not understand the obsession with cursive. I learned it in school and have never used it since. It carries no additional writing advantage over printing. I care that the Dillard kids learn to read and write. Why on earth should it matter if it's cursive?
On of the reasons is most if not all historical documents are in cursive. Would someone be able to read them? ( I am not going all conspiracy theory here) I have a few young people tell me they did not learn how to write in cursive and cannot read anything written in cursive. It is good to be able to read historical documents written in your language.

Still struggling with the blurred line between super clean eating, working out and anorexia. I’m sneaky — I fast all day and eat salad at night with maybe a couple snacks (see look! I’m eating!). All under 1,000 calories. Meanwhile, I’m working out at least 90 minutes a day, sometimes 2 hours. Lunch break is a brisk walk break.
The thing is, I feel okay — giddy and energetic even. The disorder is validating itself. That’s the scary part — it is saying to me, “See? You need me! No one else cares about you. Your friends don’t care, but I’m here for you.”
That’s how it always begins. It’s always a time of stress, the unknown, lots of anxiety and it pops in just in time. I don’t burden anyone with my complaints because I honestly believe no one wants to hear about my depressing crap. So, the disorder is there for me for “support”. It makes me feel like we’re “winning”, all while being stealth about it.
I can talk about it here because it’s the only place available to me. So thanks for that.
Edit: I know people may not know what to say about this, that’s okay. It’s just some words that needed to come out to the universe.
I have no idea what to say and if I did say something it would be things you gave heard before and would not he helpful, but know this even if I have never met you I do care and hope you find a healthy way to be in control.

Agreed. I'm not really big on watching YouTube--I'd 10 to 1 rather read something than watch someone--but there are some cooking people I follow on there who make a living out of it. They really bring their A game in a way that no Duggar has ever done.
Exhibit A being Max Miller, Tasting History. The fact he's a gay guy happily married to a man would probably have the Duggars clutching their pearls, but Jessa and her ilk could learn a lot from Max on how to do YouTube right. He went from making YT videos on a lark after being furloughed from his job during the pandemic to making YouTube his job. He has a great unique concept, he does his research, he's engaging, his content looks professional, he has a clear persona/brand that he understands and uses effortlessly, and well, it's no surprise the man got a cookbook deal with Simon and Schuster out of it as well as a channel that he can make a living off of within 3 years.
Nobody thinks of the Duggars influencing as real work because they don't treat it like real work.
Max Miller is amazing for all the reasons you listed. It doesn't hurt that he is cute either.

I've never tried cheese from a can, but I immediately felt nauseous at the thought of trying it.
It is by no means wonderful cheese but it is not horrible either. I keep it on my ' hurricane shelf' it is shelf stable and make a nice snack when you have no electricity. Don't go by me though I also gave Spam and Potted mean for the same reason and I will eat both.

We New Englanders feel its our birthright to complain about the weather for at least 9 months out of the years. 🤣 But our complaints run the gamut as you could be standing outside with two other folks and its like a Goldilocks scene.
My point was pregnant women tend to run hot in their 8 month and little kids with no fat don't usually run hot. So why is Joy in a parka but the kids are coatless and barefoot?
One of the things I learned in these threads is my weather is eerily similar to AR weather. 64 degrees in February does not feel as warm as 64 degrees in April.
I live in Houston Texas and find it mildly amusing when people move here from one of the northern states the first winter they are all " This is not cold.. this is spring at home." Next winter they are wearing jackets. If I know them I will ask why the jacket they will usually reply that the coid is different . I think it is because of our humidity.

Because 64* isn't cold in any way. Needing a heavy jacket is ridiculous unless you've got some health problem. Thin blooded people or something. Southerners are wimps when it comes to cold weather.
It may not be cold to you but as I said people are different. I will wear a mid weight sweater at 64 so yes I am a whimp I guess. I sometimes feel the same way about northerners who complain about a heat wave of 90 degrees for 3 days when we have 90 plus temperatures with 50 % humidity for 3 plus months but I do not call people pathetic because I remind myself....people are different.

S01.E01: It's Raining Men
in Seeking Brother Husband
· Edited by crazycatlady58
So if they have a two bedroom house and she gets her own bedroom where will Tiger sleep? The two husbands will share a room? That's even odder.
Even though this weirds me out it's not fair for the school district to hold it against her. It does nor affect how she teaches.
