    I've never had, not even heard of gizzard soup, though. I guess I'd try it, but I imagine they would be better roasted.

    I like chicken livers and gizzards. I only eat them once or twice a year and I have to have fried okra with them.

    What size do you wear? You can try SAS shoes ( fair warning I work for SAS) they are expensive, made in the US and very good quality. Again not cheap but very comfortable. I am 67 with arthritis and can work an 8 hour day and my feet don’t hurt.

    Houston is supposed to be 95% but it looks like it will be cloudy/ raining. Hopefully the weather will clear up around 1 and we will be able to see the eclipse.

    Silly me thought this show might pause for a while... but no.

    If there is a contract the family may not have a choice. Where I work you are allowed 3 days off for a death in the family. This is their job and they have to fulfill the contract they signed. Should TLC have put the show on hold for a bit… I think so but what would be a good time to start filling? If it were me I would fulfill my contract and then stop filming but then I would have not started in the first place.

    First, what he did was truly heinous and I would see it that way if he were Joe Schmo who never darkened the door of a church.  I feel the same about Subway Jared, Jeffrey Epstein, et. al.  His actions are problematic regardless of his faith and I am glad justice was served for him.

    Now, to the Christian part.  I am a Christian myself though the Duggars would probably not see me that way because I am far more progressive.  So, I'm not just being mean to someone because they are a Christian or because their faith practice differs from mine.  I do however have a greater problem with him because he wasn't just going along for the ride with his family.  He regularly publicly professed his faith, regularly led worship at the family church, and was even employed by the FRC to be a spokesperson for their policies.  What they themselves have told us is that someone who accepts Jesus into their heart becomes a new man in Christ. 

    Now, yes, Christians mess up and some mess up bad enough that they owe a debt to society to make amends. But in his case he messed up and clearly had no remorse for anything he did.  According to Jill Dillard's book when they were hiding from the tabloids after the first scandal broke, he thought the whole thing was funny.  When he made his infamous statement about Satan building a fortress in his heart he used passive voice to describe his cheating on his wife.  He said he became unfaithful like it was something that happened to him rather than a choice he made.  And then when he was in court facing down federal charges his demeanor was of someone who was there for a traffic ticket.  He clearly did not see himself as accountable for any of his actions.  My big issue with him was that while he was claiming to be this model Christian he was doing some pretty horrible things and was only stopped when secular authorities stepped in.  So, yes, I hold him to a higher standard on that part because someone who is truly transformed by their acceptance of Jesus does not keep going back and wallowing in sinful behaviors.  

    I wish I could like this post 100 times.

    So yesterday I was on Facebook and one of the post was something like “ my old house” where people post pictures of how they decorate an older home. One lady said she moved her bedroom into the ‘ upstairs attic’. I was a good girl and did NOT ask her how she decorated the ‘ downstairs attic’.  Y’all were the only ones that would understand why it made me giggle. It was not Jill.. she did not have anything on the walls nor did she have 15 lamps in the room.

    Really, Brenda couldn't find a day off to make a trip to Houston?  She could have come in the morning and left in the afternoon... or come for a weekend.  I don't think she is working 6-7 days a week, she used to serve on him hand and foot before, after all.  Something tells me their relationship isn't as strong as he thinks it is. 

    She may not be able to afford the trip.

    I expect this means the kids didn't get anything interesting from Punta Cana; probably copies of a menu in Spanish or some hot sauce packets from the buffet.  Hard to spin those into special gifts for the kiddies.

    Well,I don't know she thought giving her youngest daughter a bag of diapers for her birthday was a good think.

    I hope they are not really filming this week. And if they are filming, I hope they are not having any of the kids (adult or minor) film. I'm not sure I can bring myself to watch if they decide to show the aftermath of this tragedy. It's too exploitive.

    Are they able to say " No we are not going to film" ? I am sure they have a contract saying they must have a certain amount of filming days ( oddly worded I know but could not hink of better words) that must be completed in a definite time frame.  They may also feel filming at this time my help other families who have gone through this.

    I’m confused about so much that’s going on and changing in the forums. Right now I’m just grateful when I wake up and see that it’s still here. 

    Do you remember when she will be back?  I clicked on her name and saw she had liked some posts so it will not be a shock. I bet she is glad she is out of this mess.
