  1. I think the point was the stilted way they wrote those words. Nothing at all wrong with adoption. Although the fundies are getting some bad press about that, too. What with the AR politician who rehomed his daughters to a pervert. A pervert, IIRC who worked for the politician and his wife, in their "Christian" day care.
  2. It is possible, but the Duggars and their extended family/friends have such a strong habit of taking selfies every time they leave the house, it could easily spill out.
  3. After a bomb going off in your underwear, not sure how much good a virgin would be. I guess they didn't think it through.
  4. I hope they all go down, but have learned in the last few years that it is surprising what people get away with.
  5. Not being a true fundie, maybe Miss Cathy's husband works for a living. Keyboard problems here, think I answered the wrong post, sorry! But too much editing right now to try again.
  6. When I was first married, we lived in Yonkers, as it turned out a couple of blocks from Son of Sam. I was his typical victim, too, young, long dark hair. But I didn't know until after it was over. My husband worked for Con Ed at the time and actually met him, bill collecting.
  7. Maybe his head got so greasy that his jaw slid out of alignment.
  8. Maybe she gets a cut of TLC money, and a round trip ticket?
  9. Hopefully in ten or twelve years, maybe less, her special snowflake will be an absolute horror, while other friends' tv watching, bottle fed, public schooled kids are a delight!
  10. Call some of the bailers and do something else. I'm sure you aren't the only one disappointed.
  11. I am so jealous! Bob Newhart is hilarious.
  12. I don't, just apply with a cotton ball. I even wash my hands with it when I know I have been near poison ivy, it works well. Dries it up quickly without drying out your skin.
  13. No, I would not like it to be July for 9 months! I love the four seasons. Winter can be rough here in NY, but it is so beautiful. It just about cures poison ivy. And I am a gardener, for both love and money, so I need stuff to combat poison ivy.
  14. She probably waits outside the bathroom door. That's what my Chihuahua does, too. For perspective.
  15. My fondest wish (in this situation, at least) is that JB turns out to have an unauthorized blessing or two, so that he has more than Mechelle. How crazy that would make her!
  16. So I guess they are free lance missionaries, paying their own way (with other people's money) and coming and going as they please.
  17. I'm not a doctor or even a lay midwife, but my mom's fairly mild dementia always spikes when she has a UTI.
  18. Ah, but if the poor girls say they remember it, well they aren't pure anymore, are they? It's no accident that the married girls were the ones interviewed.
  19. My mother is/was a Depression baby, one of seven kids, with a widowed mother. She loves the nastiest, cheapest cuts of meat, canned vegetables, etc. When I was growing up she'd make chuck steak with dried onion soup mix, jello molds, all kind of awful stuff. Her Sunday/holiday roasts, though, were to die for. Se just felt good food should be a treat. It was also supposed to be, and was, good for your nails. Keratin, from the horse's hooves.
  20. Please, in both cases their English is in need of improvement!
  21. I'd rather have a husband who makes me laugh out loud than a big jewelry collection.
  22. To be fair, the leg humpers don't strike me as Rhodes scholars. In many cases I don't believe they are high school graduates!
  23. I had wondered idly if they were money laundering for Jim Bob. Missionaries with a baby would be a good cover! Then we'd have enough material for a sequel to the inevitable Lifetime movie
  24. I hate to think this, but it may be a new way for new moms to one up each other. I'm cynical because I've been around awhile and have seen too much of human nature!
