  1. It could be a mutual friend. I feel like Jeremy is more willing to travel for non-Duggar centric events. Or it could be in Texas. Side note: if the wedding was today, does that mean that Jeremy will miss yet another Sunday...you know, at his job? How does he spend his week when he plans to be out of town on Sunday?
  2. Those are great examples. But both J. B. Fletcher and Miss Marple traveled all the time. That meant that they had different experiences with different police, which benefits the storytelling significantly IMO. If all the Cabot Cove/St. Mary Mead (man, they do all live in small towns!) stories were told back to back, it also would have gotten stale fast IMO.
  3. Thanks, hoosiermom! Juries convict based on emotion all the time; they also convict based on the idea that "someone has to pay". It's scary. Brattinella, I totally agree that the eyewitnesses are probably not reliable. A person walking a dog is not something that will stand out enough to be sure about the time or even the day. It's totally a psychological reaction that happens when something traumatic or significant happens.
  4. Seriously. They would never refer to a guy who is a casual pot smoker as engaging in "risky behavior". She was at risk by being a cute and very young woman
  5. You're right. A traumatic experience like a crash is another reason to be hesitant to drive. I agree that the mom seemed to miss the implications of Macin being gay. I just don't know that I put a lot of stock in the rumors. He seemed so socially withdrawn and they didn't mention friends (which they often do in the episodes). Maybe he didn't show "enough" interest in girls- he is a cute kid and judgy high schoolers drew their own conclusions. Not sure.
  6. I agree that suicide is the most likely option for what happened to Macin. I can't imagine the feelings that his dad has about his punishment- when dad was tired and likely frustrated- starting this. About Macin being gay. It wasn't clear to me how credible those rumors are. If they were only coming in anonymously on the Facebook page, then I don't consider that a factor. He was a new kid at school who was quiet and had odd (to some people) interests. Easy target. The fact that he was dragging his feet on driving stood out to me. I've never known a non-driving teenager- outside of urban areas- that wasn't off in some way.
  7. I'm going with Patriot Thomas Seewald.
  8. I actually love that commercial! I'm not usually a fan of Cheetos ads, but I like seeing his kids rocking out in the backseat. For some reason, it makes me a giggle to think they all take turns singing their jams.
  9. I think that yogi mentioned that they lived in a trailer to show how that may have exacerbated Andrea Yates' condition. If she was feeling overwhelmed and literally had no space to herself, that couldn't have helped. I feel like we've had similar conversations about Michelle in the house from the pre-TLC days. On topic: I had forgotten how obnoxious Derick is on Twitter. Smug and angry isn't going to make new friends or converts.
  10. He died of a heart defect, which is rare, but that no one considered a possibility in a young and in shape guy. One of the major flaws for the prosecution was how the tissue evidence was processed. Apparently they sent the tissues to a military lab that didn't test human samples. So they could technically run the right tests but lacked knowledge to interpret and consider all possibilities. Cindy went to prison because of misread lab results, no one seriously considered natural causes, and she got a boob job.
