  1. Whoopi gave Alyssa a good smackdown at the end of the first segment, pointing out that her last employer didn't know what he was doing to the tune of around a million deaths, so who is she to talk.  She's disgusting, but no surprise there.

And I agreed with Joy about DeSantis' lack of charisma and how, on a debate stage of 7-10 candidates, he's going to get lost in the shuffle like the rest of them amid the circus act.

  2. Just read this, so sad! He seemed like one of those personalities, who brought so much light into the world, I thought he would end up living into his nineties just like Angela Lansbury and Betty White. Way too soon. I've been a fan going back to when he appeared on Reba and Will & Grace, I believe the latter came first, right? He's always been hilarious in everything he's been in. The world is a darker place without him. 😢 Rest in peace.

He had a great interview on The Jennifer Hudson Show just a couple of weeks ago (advertising CMK of course), and it went almost the whole hour. I know he had talked there about his sister and mother having passed the past couple of years, I think that was particularly hard on him because he talked about how he'd always think about calling his mother still whenever something would happen. At least he's with them again now.

I haven't seen the show, does she sing like Kelly does?

Not a full cover every day or anything like that. There's really just her theme song that plays as she comes out and then occasionally she'll sing with a guest when it's appropriate (such as with Adam Lambert and Cheyenne Jackson). There was a segment last where she and Babyface tried to make R&B songs out of random phrases from the audience.

  4. I expect Ana will throw softballs compared to how she acted in the Charlie Crist interview. Yes, I expect more of those types of guests will show up on Monday since it will be easier for them.

    More reasons Monday's are unwatchable.

  5. I agreed with Joy on that topic, the reason the father (whatever the parents' situation is) shouldn't have a say in that decision is because it's literally growing inside her. Sunny definitely got carried away by the topic where the person they were talking about had made a different kind of comparison to ejaculations, she took it way off-course. It's not like an ejaculation is carried inside a man for 9 months, utterly transforming his body, for the two things to be equivalent.

  6. I agreed with Joy in the first segment, it's a continual wash, rinse, repeat situation. Overall, Joy's and Sunny's birthday episodes weren't so bad, since it was really just the last 15 minutes that was about them.

And here in the interview, Alyssa just put herself in the same sentence as April Ryan. I don't think Ryan has anything in common with a disgrace like you, hun. In your dreams.

  7. Whoopi got on my last nerve in the Markle topic basically trying to keep anyone who disagreed with her from speaking. And then the very next segment is all about Whoopi's new movie, where you can expect the usual asskissing from the guests, even more unbearable after what had just happened before. I just deleted.

I see that I'd forgot Tamblyn was supposed to be in the latter half, maybe I'll try to watch that online later.

I’ve noticed since the new season started - all but the newbie are leaning towards Joy.  Those closest are leaning away from Alyssa.  She also walks out completely alone, far ahead of the others

Not surprised. Joy is the only one there who gets along with everyone. Body language gives most things away.

  9. My favorite moment was after Louis was back home and freaking out that he nearly killed the baby and then Lestat brings out the opera tickets. They end up devolving into fussy, old-married-couple-style bickering and then as Lestat is walking away to the closet in the next room, Louis shouts, "I nearly ATE my nephew!" (I may have got the exact line wrong, paraphrasing)

IDK, it just got me giggling.

I loved that when John read the letter from his dad, that it was Gil McKinney's (OG Henry) voice that we heard.

I thought it was him, but wasn't 100%. I thought it could be a replacement. I'm glad to know he's already been involved in one episode.

Agreed. The mothership deviated from canon too many times to count. I don't fully understand why it's been such a sticking point for the spinoff.

I agree. I don't really mind deviations as long as it explains itself in the end to stick with the first show (even if the explanations are crazy, that's nothing new).

  11. I went into this with zero expectations--probably lower than zero really, I figured I'd give the first episode a look and then not watch anything else--but I ended up thinking it was decent. While I liked Mary, I always hated John and didn't think I could watch a whole series of them since it would focus on their romance, which always left me pretty cold. I thought the actors they picked for the two roles were both strong; John looks reminiscent to Sam and Mary to Dean just like they should. I think I'll keep watching even if I'm not as into it as Supernatural, as far as buying it on Blu-ray or anything like that.

I think the only thing I'd say bothers me so far is stuff that feels off from the original show.

All I remember is how it was said they had hated each other to begin with from one of the angels before they were forced together or John finding out about the Men of Letters when I thought he died never knowing what happened to his father.... The only thing good about that change is that hopefully the original actor for Henry Winchester on Supernatural appears on here as a cameo, always loved him. And then there's the deal with Azazel, which should only happen after she's with John romantically, and yet her mother is dead already unless I got confused (and why isn't Samuel dead??). I put this all in spoilers because I wasn't sure how much we're allowed to say about the original show here and didn't want to break any rules.

I admit I didn't watch much of the later seasons of Supernatural so it's weird that John knows about this stuff as a young man. I'm liking it so far though.

Anyone else thinks John looks like Sam in some angles including the bitchface(tm)? Good casting.

I thought he looked similar to young Padalecki, too. But then by the end of the episode I couldn't stop seeing Cameron Diaz for some reason.

My box set is 212 hours and 1 minute and has 63 discs. I think the episodes are 48 minutes each. (or there abouts). I had no issues with episodes repeating. The UPC is 2519220866 if that helps. I always dig the set out during Hallmark's Holiday Blitz.

Just checked the back of the individual seasons and I think I might get the confusion on some of the episodes repeating. Season 10 has a season 11 episode as a bonus and season 11 has 2 episodes from season 12.

Season 3 does have the Magnum PI episode that is part of the crossover.

I'm glad you were able to clear it up. Yeah, some of the next season's episodes would be offered as "bonus" on the previous season's. I guess because the season sets released individually before the box set ever came along. I actually bought the DVD box set around a decade ago--the one in the white box with just her face on the cover. It's very nice and I like that the sets have a consistent design rather than changing partway through.

I so agree with @GHScorpiosRule that Amos was the better sheriff. Those early episodes with Jessica, Seth, and Amos in Cabot Cove together were the best, although Jessica and Seth are still great when it's just the two of them, too. Mort did grow on me after a season or two, but it always felt like--even though he was a smarter character than Amos to me--he was a step removed from Jessica and Seth, maybe because he seemed much younger than they were whereas Amos was the same generation as them. Or at least that's how it seemed to me, perhaps the actors' ages aren't as close as I imagined.

  13. Lupe wasn't even in this one but 30 seconds and still managed to win the episode. Talking about Tom: "He looked like Jack Skellington, but with frozen milk for skin."  🤣

Besides that, while I did enjoy the episode, the only other times I really laughed were at the Justin Bieber wig they put on Connor.

  14. I think this was probably my favorite of this season's episodes so far. Although the other two episodes may have had a few highlights better than anything in this episode (Spotted Lanternfly, Molly's skit last week), this is the first episode that felt overall pretty good across the board for me. Not "great," but at least I wasn't bored.

Sherman and Fineman as Schumer and Pelosi were hilarious. I think I liked Fineman's Pelosi a little better, or maybe just in a different way, than McKinnon's. Hot Girl Hospital and the Texas Moms against Hocus Pocus bit were great, too. I like that they've given most of the new castmembers time in Weekend Update the past three weeks.

  15. I suppose the ladies will get 5 minutes to speak once you subtract commercials, the interview, and VYD on Monday and Friday. Well, I guess they don't list VYD on Friday's show here, but it was on this past Friday despite not being listed upfront, so... 🙄

  16. Yeah, I didn't get what happened in this episode that would've made her interested in having a baby. Seemed like a pretty bad experience all-around.

The funniest parts of this episode to me were the cat toy in the crib at the end and Phil yawning at how boring Randi and Carter are.

And Joy came back with "he is a loser"

I loved that almost the first words out of her mouth today were calling Trump a loser, too. 🤣 No way that wasn't intentional.

I am glad she said it, too because it shows how far he has fallen from grace. Look how many fairly decent people have sold their souls.

What killed me is Teta trying to silence her by telling her not to call Dr. Oz a loser. If that's her opinion, she has a right to it. Maybe he should work somewhere else.

I thought Goodwin was going to do a crappy job but he looks like he wants to take over what the Wheelers built. Maybe that's just me.

I was happy at first with Goodwin finally getting to run things and Bob getting to relax, but I didn't like the way Goodwin treated Dottie... This is her company. No matter how old or annoying she may be, she doesn't deserve to be pushed out that way. I loved the ending when she clearly saw through him.

I feel like Christina getting fired was done specifically to get her back working for MaxDot.

As soon as the episode opened with Christina as the focus, I knew they would have her fired somehow to get her back at MaxDot, since her mother needs an ally right now with Bob out of the picture. I hate this direction, I was really happy Christina finally got away from her mother and was succeeding.
