  1. Watching a bunch of men cooing over a dog and baby-talking to it just warms my heart. Men with babies do nothing for me but I love a guy who's not afraid to be mushy about his furry companion. Izzy has definitely given certain people a little likability and increased others'. Well, until she leaves, that is.

  2. Oh, I agree. I just can't help but think that in hindsight, it's the worst invitation ever! During the first viewing of the show, I really didn't like Hank pretty much up until he realized who Walter was. I've softened towards him slightly since--I'm on my third viewing--but was always aware of how he made Walt feel less than, intentionally or unintentionally. I think it's primarily the latter.

  3. Izzy is some sort of terrier. Man, I would also be so freakin' excited if I were in that house. It already makes me happy when I encounter them, especially when I'm hiking because you can tell they are just having teh bestest time EVER! Someday when I have more room and a yard...

  4. I'm rewatching the final season and just finished the episode where the shootout begins. It's tragic what happens to Hank but I put about 90% of it on him. If he had just left after arresting Walt instead hanging around to call Marie and brag, he probably not only would still be alive but would've succeeded in his takedown of Walt. Hank's ego was always a problem and it was his ultimate undoing.

"Walt, just say the word and I'll take you on a ride-along " I think that makes poor Hank 100% responsible from the get-go. He propelled the ball onto the pinball table!

  5. I'm on my third viewing and while I sometimes really miss the suspense that had me yelling "OMG!!" so many times when I first watched it, I do enjoy it more every time. I also notice lots of things I've missed. I couldn't stand Season 1 Jesse when I first watched the show but view him so differently now, right off the bat.

The best example of doing a 180 on a character is Hector. LOATHED him the first time around except for when he got his revenge on Gus. I enjoy the hell out of him now and he really cracks me up. Can't help but love the crazy old bastard. DING!

  6. When does the dog come?? Today? Tomorrow? How is the dog being brought in? They can't just leave it in the storage room lmao. Or maybe they can. Maybe we will have a special guest that brings it in.

Clearly I have a lot of questions about this!! Haha

Can we keep him, Mom, can we?? Whatever happens: "Who's a good boy? You's a good boy!"

  7. Someone needs to Photoshop Frankie's head onto Little Edie's in a still shot from her flag dance! Given his exhausting, over-the-top performing, it would be perfect. It would be even more awesome with his head in the video, like some sort of JibJab thing.

ETA: Me neither, housecat. I've never even used it. Hoping someone with mad skillz will take on the challenge.

ETA Electric Boogaloo 2: Given that I LOVE documentaries, it's embarrassing to admit that I never saw Grey Gardens until I was in my late 40s.

  8. housecat, I figured it was a foregone conclusion that I've also caught both seasons of Bachelor Pad and am avidly watching Bachelor in Paradise. Will someone please help me? There needs to be a Promises facility for people like us. Daily group sessions involve watching things such as CSPAN and PBS (which I actually DO watch sporadically), and you are not allowed to use phrases like "it's what the house wants," "blood on my hands," "taking our relationship to the next level" and "here for the right reasons."

  9. Hey, did y'all know that Sarah liked Brooks and had hoped he would be on the show? Yeah, me either.

I can't help but like Lacey. She doesn't appear to have one mean bone in her body or that she was ever a mean girl in school.

LOVED your spider tangent, Irritable. I thought it would be funny/ironic if it had been a black widow on him! My phobia is so bad that if I come across a picture in a magazine, I--after a few expletives about it being unexpected--gingerly turn the page, taking care that no part of my fingers touch it, lest it somehow come to life. BTW, all arachnophobes really need to watch British comedian Phil Jupitus' 20-minute diatribe against spiders. Hilarious and relatable!

  10.  Most people are embarrassed to admit to their friends and family that they even watch this show! (I saw a funny discussion on Joker's to this effect a couple of days ago... a bunch of people saying no way would I ever tell anyone I like this show!)  I love Big Brother in a love/hate guilty pleasure way (mostly love, even with a horrid cast), but it's not like I tell people I like it.  It's not Lost.  I'll talk about Lost to co-workers to this day, but I'm a scientist and everyone is a nerd, so they give me a pass.

I'm so lucky that a close coworker is also into it. I introduced her to this thread as she never knew anything about what happened on the broadcast vs. the feeds. Yesterday, she told me she wasn't going to watch the show anymore, given how frustrating it is. She's just going to continue reading this thread.

  11. Given that I was making a bad joke, I wasn't concerned with syntax or context. I think the majority of people assign the same cursory interpretation to that phrase. However, the vast majority of people also do not appear to know the difference between "your/you're" and "loose/lose."

My pet peeve is inappropriate apostrophe use. I've tried to explain to my supervisor the difference between plural and possessive but her emails still begin with "Dear Officer's and Staff."

To return to the topic, I still can't decide whether I want Romeo or Adam to get the boot first. Adam seems a lot worse than Danny, so I find it surprising that Romeo doesn't seem to loathe him.

  12. Yay, Zahdii! I am so not looking forward to Big Brother ending because the live feed thread is so entertaining every year. It's also basically become my homeroom here. I didn't even know Utopia has a live feed until it was mentioned earlier today in the aforementioned forum. Hopefully, we'll be one of many who are up to investing the time--a year?!-- and will migrate over here to create our own little PTV utopian community.
