Did Luna admit to RJ that she’s a virgin when she said she was waiting for the right guy 🤔?

Can I just say as a side note how incredibly tired I am of this trope? Especially in a show set in Los Angeles of all places, where no one on this show was raised as an evangelical or a Mormon?

Hope was the one case where her being defined by her "morality" and "virtue" was understandable but even there, it wore off rather quickly.

Bridget had some memorable scenes in the "Beach House". Didn't Zoe paint a lovely mural on the wall ?? The scene of so many trysts and love connections. Never have I ever seen Taylor there.

Taylor was actually the original owner. Stephanie bought it for her the first time she came back from the deasas a Please Get Brooke From My Son present, lived there for. a few years until she has the twins, then she and Ridge moved. Then, Bridget and Deacon moved in until that marriage fell apart and I think Rick and/or Amber also lives there for a time. Bridget and Nick were there during their first marriage, then I want to say Rick occupied it cuz I'm pretty sure Steffy was deflowered there. And *then* it came into Bill's possession when he got FC and most of their assets and he and Katie lived in it until they bought Taylor's house that she left the beach house for.from there, it got used as a bachelor pad until Wyatt moved in and had that mural painted and he's been the one there ever since.

I know a Normal Amount™ of things about this show 🫠🙃

On aside tangent, the one thing I notice in my watch of the older seasons is that B&B used to do really grand reveal of new key locations. Things like Brooke's first house with Ridge or Clarke's office after he married Sally or when Macy opened her office house Insomnia back when those were a neat novelty and not a dime a dozen put me in mind of the first Star Trek movie where we get a looooiong reveal of the redesigned Enterprise when Kirk is seeing her for the first time in years.

I know part of that is budgets, but I miss that energy in the show.

Whatever happened to Jake's brother Mark?  He was Stephanie's doctor.  Stephanie paid him to fake a heart attack to guilt Ridge into leaving Brooke for Taylor.  The plan blew up and he was never mentioned again.  He got Bradleyed.

Mark was Jake's nephew as a nitpick, but to my recollection once the issue of the heart attack was resolved, he was disappeared too.

Wyatt looks really good with his new haircut. So the monkeys with a keyboard are actually giving him a swan song but without a mention of what happened to Flo.

I cannot even pretend to give a solid rat fuck about Flo Fulton. The character sucked on arrival, her connection to the Logans was every bit as forced at this bullshit with Luna and Bill, and she got to skate off on everything even more than Thomas, who at least got to be publicly embarrassed at his wedding to Zoe. Flo and Wyatt didn't even have a temporary split up over this FFS.

Sometimes, an idea gets so botched that it's just easier to throw it all out and start from scratch, like a bad sourdough starter. I'm perfectly fine with memory holing her entire existence and never mentioning her again, the way B&B never  concluded what happened to Deveney after she helped scam the Forrester as Angela for years, or Taylor's brother Zach or how Steffy and Rick's ill advised relationship ended off screen after that bullshit ate up the show for most of 2009.

Like, really, does anyone want to know where Flo is? Does anyone sincerely care? I know I don't.

Li is such a miserable woman! Shut up already.

Back in 2006, when TIIC decided to go all in on turning Nick Marone from a straight shooting thorn in the Forresters' side dragging them for their privilege into a character as petty and entitled as he accused Ridge of being, I didn't think it was possible to ruin a character more but Bill Bell saw how much fans loved Poppy and said "Hold my beer" with his entire chest.

I don't understand what her deal is? Poppy's (alledged)sluttiness didn't cost her a career and Jack's infidelity aside, her life is great with a son and grandkids but naw, she just gotta be more miserable than Stephanie was.

    Make it make sense.

If I recall correctly, Pierson Fode left because he wanted to do a streaming series.

He had a long illness around the same time he left B&B that kept him outta work for some time before he got treatment. If he did in fact leave for better work, he made the right call because it would've been a matter of time until they ruined him yet again anyway.

Where was all this caring about crimes by Finn when they were covering up Taylor shot Bill? She actually shot someone and Finn didn't care. Or when he was telling Steffy to give his mommy a break?

Given Finn wasn't around for that shooting and seemed to be surprised when he learned about the paternity issue w Kelly long after he and Steffy were married, I'm sure Steffy probably hasn't even told him about that one.

Is it really to set up Hope and Finn? Which I hope it's not. Or is it something even worse? Is it just the only way they could come up with to re-introduce Liam back into Hope and/or Steffy's lives.

I think the answer is gonna prove to be "yes," because TPTB will absolutely pivot back to the status quo despite what the fandom want and there's no way in Hell  that Bell allows a woman to stay single longer than a week on this show and remain on contract. And I doubt he'll be writing Hope outta the show when the Team Hope vs Team Steffy fight gets him so much buzz. He can start it all over again with Finn, who is essentially a clean slate without Liam's baggage of whipping back and forth.

I would love to be wrong but Bell has long lost the benefit of the doubt from me.

I am of the opinion that Bell is not a Thomas fan, why else does he write him so evil and terribly - that boy has never been happy and will never be happy on this soap.

If he was consistently evil or even a typical entitled rich brat like anymore born in Beverly Hills would be, I wouldn't mind. But TIIC can't seem to commit one way or the other. It speaks to Pierson Fodé and his talent that the character was salvaged after the shit with Caroline but all of that was wiped away the minute he left and they came in with this Adam Newman/Paul Ryan dark horse ass bullshit.

I just hope Matthew Atkinson gets a better opportunity soon so we can just get on with the next version of Thomas. Maybe that one will be able to have a hobby beyond obsessing over Hope.

This is something I forgot to mention in my last post. He keeps saying that, but it doesn't track with even my knowledge of his history (as someone who hasn't been watching as long as a lot of others here). From what I know, after Steffy married Liam the first time, she was afraid Liam would go back to Hope, so she enlisted Thomas to spend time with her and distract her. That never seemed like a love match as much as a "well, she's pretty and I've got nothing better to do, so why not" agreement to his sister's plan. Then, he was all in on Caroline, obsessing over her similarly to how he'd eventually come to obsess over Hope, leading to Misunderstanding Night. After that, he was in an actual good relationship with Sally that ended because he went to be with Douglas and try to make a go of being a family with Caroline.

Basically, this. This also doesn't cover his ill-fated and inappropriate relationship with Rick's ex-wife Amber (a grown ass woman when he was a senior in high school at the oldest), his green card marriage to the granddaughter of the maid Stephanie got killed (the second healthiest relationship in his entire history, and it's not even close) or the weird obsession he had with Brooke just a few months before the ten second fling with Hope you mentioned.

Dude has been a train wreck all his adult life except for the brief six months he was with Sally.

Zende (not Xander) is really contemporaries with Hope and Thomas and should really be involved there.

Wasn't he rolling with them in the mid-2010s when he was waffling between Maya's sisters? Hell, chronologically, he was a tween back when Steffy and Thomas were still in diapers, so he should be even older than that, but definitely not going after 20 somethings.

I think he’s okay with nepo Taytots because unlike RJ they have formal training.

Thomas has a whole big ass fight with Ridge in '05 about going to school so I know his ass went. Steffy was at school in Europe when she was called back home in '08 and never went back. I don't believe she ever graduated and while she definitely had a pretty cushy push to the top between seducing Bill, Taylor's favoritism and Quinn bribing her with co- CEO to curry her acceptance of her & Eric's marriage, I guess she's put in her dues, I guess.

RJ OTOH doesn't want to be there and has no passion. And I'm here for a rivalry that doesn't involve either Tridge brat, especially when neither can play the "True Forrester" card like Exodia the Forbidden One in Yu-Gi-Oh (at least, I hope RJ doesn't) but Zende creeping on his cousins girl is quite literally THE SAME SHIT Rick pulled with Steffy when he was having a go at Ridge. It wasn't cute then and it isn't now. Have a go at RJ (or the puppet master pushing him up the ladder) but leave Luna outta it.

I've probably said this before but I'll say it again. If Steamless needs all this character assassination to bring it back from the grave that Stallion night put it in, then the pairing sucks even more than anyone realizes.... and I don't even think there is anyone asking for this.

There absolutely is not. It's a huge change from five years ago where people were openly laughing at Hope's pain and looking forward to the inevitable Steam reunion but what few remaining Steamless hopefuls exist have appeared to been run off or deplatformed from Twitter by the rest of Team Steffy fandom. I've been asking for years why anyone would want their face with the feckless waffle, even to spite Hope, and people are finally agreeing.

Do they just think that the actor who plays Xander can't handle the heavy confrontation scenes with Thomas, so they're giving them to Finn instead?

They're not even thinking that hard... consciously or not, this show does not view Black characters with any other agency but to support the white faves. And this has always been a problem on this show, going back to Valarie the assistant to Caroline (who disappeared when she died), RuthAnne, Raymond, Marcus, Justin and Carter. Maya and her family have been the only exception to this and I'm certain Karla Mosley must've had some major blackmail on Bell for that to happen.

But putting that aside, I guess this is their way of building Finn's bland as oatmeal character and I'm all for the Wizard giving him a brain separate from Steffy's, but it would be really cool if he had an iota of awareness that all the shade he's throwing at Thomas apply twofold to that egg donor he refuses to set boundaries for.

I can see someone making requests for their own character, but it's absolutely insane to give in to letting her make demands about another character.

Wouldn't be the first time. Apparently, when Victoria on Y&R was recast, TPTB were chem testing her with Jack and Eric Braden put an end to that for reasons. The goat would, as we all know, later go on to have Victor schlep Sharon, which IIRC was the final straw that got Maria Arena "I'm gonna give Victor everything he wants" Bell sacked.

And as for divorce, I mean, come on, it's a soap. If you can't handle your fictional character being divorced, it's not the right job for you.

    HUGE facts.

That said, I will say that this restriction made the show get creative in their conflicts between the two of them and that it actually allowed the couple a chance to actually mature and grow and for people to get truly invested in them. Regardless of everything I know of Taylor and her hypocrisy now, as a new viewer in 1999, it gave me the chance to actually like Taylor when my first impression of her was as a woman who took care of a dying homeless man with TB at great risk to her already high risk pregnancy (Ridge could always kick rocks tho lol)

That was Senior Bell who made Bridget Eric's, I was. HUGE Bridge fan and I still remember how pissed I was that Bridget was Eric's child.  Out of nowhere Eric slept with Brooke who was too sleepy or altered at the time (can't recall). I was steaming mad LOL..

The story was that Brooke was drunk after some corporate meeting and forgot the one night of their separation that they had sex. A misunderstanding, if you will :\

Apart from that nonsense, the story I always heard for the change was that following Tylo's return, she and her then husband were born again Christians and she was adamant about  being the only woman to be the mother of his children and not depict divorce, which was also why Tridge is the rare couple to have a marriage last longer than two years.

I mean, no know on religion but I would simply find work in any other industry than acting as Gregory Peck/Thomas #2 did.

think what some people miss is that Thomas' crazy far predates Emma/Hope/Beth. Redeeming him was always an iffy, ambitious endeavor. But they still did it before MA was in the role. Bradley seems to enjoy yanking the chain of Thomas fans without letting those of us that dislike him have have any peace either. If Persion Fode was still Thomas, I might have less of an issue with the propping(though it'd still be annoying but that's Bradley for you). Mostly because that's what PF was used for already, and it actually worked! For far more people than MA seems to work for.

I had a long list as to why Fode worked and MA's redemption stuck, but this stupid phone are the damn thing.

Essentially, PF!Thomas' redemption was entirely separate from Caroline and never made her issue and he actually **stopped** being a creep to the women he would later interact with. And frankly, if Fode didn't quit the series, I doubt they would've ended that faked injury story with him going off with Caroline, but I think it speaks to how successful the redemption was that the fans were livid at Caroline for her scheming rather than cheering her on for some much needed katmic payback.

It was basically the complete and exact opposite for MA!Thomas, who had no remorse for what he did, and continues to use his son in his schemes to get with Hope or ruin Bridge's marriage and has for the time being still seemingly won in spite of everything.

I'm not usually on Steffy's side, but I'm with her on this issue.

I'll be genuinely surprised if Thomas losing his shit isn't where this is all headed.

Same, and frankly I dunno if there was ever going to be any other outcome *but* this: not because of the Logan bias certain corners complain about but because Bell's found something that invigorated the fandom once nearly five years ago and in true Bell form, doesn't want to let it go.

And honestly, for as little use as I've had for Thomas since Pierson Fodé left the role, his fans are absolutely right to be as tired of him being stuck in one gear and never having anyone that can either truly care for him or that he can finally move past Hope. After all, we all know she's gonna be shoved into Liam's orbit because Bell can't let him go either, so what else is there?

I absolutely hate it here :|

    20 hours ago, KerleyQ said:

...so I don't see the show thinking they needed to dig up a character who'd care and dragging that whole thing back into everyone's minds, just to say "never mind, it wasn't really anything."  And to bring it up right when Thomas is suddenly pressuring Hope to move things further along? We're definitely revisiting crazy Thomas. And I'm here for that, because I've never bought his being reformed, and I was always pissed he didn't suffer any consequences for Emma. But, I also fear that this is being done now to lead to Hope/Finn and Steffy/Liam.

All of this. I'm not here for another go around of Steam or for Steffy and Hope to fight over yet another guy, but i'm here for Thomas suffering a consequence. And since losing Hope is the only thing that he would feel any impact about, then so be it.

Snark aside, dude WTF even *is* this? What possible purpose does Luna being Bill's kid serve. Liam was a novelty and Wyatt was stretching it but Luna? Why?!. He already has a third son we never hear about and if they needed to give him yet another unknown child, Kelly is right fucking there and we'd get the added bonus of Liam getting metaphorically kicked in the nuts, which everyone likes.

He's also a good actor, he really shines with lesser actors like the guys who play Liam and Finn.

This is absolutely no knock on the jump in talent from Matthew Atkinson from his time as Summer's husband on Y&R (a character so bland and uninspired I don't even remember his name) to the work he's done here, but it also helps that Liam and Finn are written to be blank slates with the agency of a doorknob. For many, Finn not being Liam was the 9nlt hurdle he ever needed to clear and as long as he stays clear of Hope I don't see that changing.

Liam OTOH is coming up on Year 15 with this show. In ten years, he will have been on the show longer that Ronn Moss' Ridge and he'll be the same mewling, spineless puke that it was in 2011 who gave Hope's still warm ring to Steffy. I'd prefer they actually give the character agency of his own but not, they get rid of him and be done with it

  15. Okay, so I'm nearly done with season six and my God, Thorne and Macy are more exhausting and frustrating to watch than Bridge. I think they got married back in season 4 and had maybe three months together before they separated because Macy understandably was frustrated that Thorne would even considered she was in on stealing designs or something. In the interim, she had sex with Jake McClain once(1) time, got back with Thorne but still had some emotional ties. This leads to yet another separation for most of 1992, until she decides to move back just as Thorne invites Caroline's twin Karen to live with him and they have a stupid Three's Company ass living arrangement as Thorne does his best Liam Spencer impression of "Gosh, I can't choose and they decided to move in without we saying anything! ¯\_(ツ)_/¯"

Speaking of giving Liam Spencer, apparently Thorne was gonna choose Macy but then based off one hug and kiss he saw with her abd Jake, rather than confront them or ask any questions at all, he decides to choose Karen. Even Ridge the waffle King asks him "Uh dude, WTF?" And giving that I'm aware that Macy and Thorne have a vow renewal ceremony in 1995, I assume I'm in for at least another two years of this nonsense, especially as this appears to be the catalyst for Macy's drinking problems and Thorne can't even give the barest ass lip service to being interested in Karen that Ridge gives Taylor.

All 5his shows is Thorne is no less trash than the rest of the men in his idiot family and makes it truly a head scratcher when Macy decides that Brooke was still her enemy long after she and Thorne divorced...although between Karen and her brief triangle with Donna over Thorne and/ Mick Whatshisface played by that guy from Grease, she's never been much of a girl's girl, even by B&B's standards. But I do wish they had just recast either time Bobbie Eakes left the show and continued to let Macy thrive as an owner of Spectra or brought her into the Marone fold after Nick was introduced.

    Other highlights of season 6:

-Taylor's brother Zack, who was never mentioned again after running off with Felicia...if they need to expand the case, maybe bring him back. Maybe he'll have a daughter as Steffy has run out of cousins from the Forrester side to main or kill lo

-SHEILA IS SMART IN THIS! And even knowing how unhinged she is, the way KB plays her in the early days, I can't be fully sure if she's sincere about changing or not. It's a refreshing change from the way they depict her now.

-The ToD 1.0 has started and isn't entirely tiresome yet. Bell was really playing to both fanbases here and I can see why Tridge and Bridge have the dedicated fanbase they did. That said, I'll never stop wishing that either of them had walked away from Ridge much, much sooner.

-Although Sally was a fool for thinking a business agreement if a marriage proposal was ever gonna blossom into true love, it was still satisfying to see her get the drop on him and drum him outta her life. I know he was back at Spectra by the time I started watching in the early 2000s, so I assume his hot shot career never took off like he expected it would and he'll be more humble when he does return.

I will say that watching the old B&B playlist on YouTube, I find that the Spectra gang might be the only genuine friend group in all of B&B canon that wasn't built on taking down another woman as their only bonding moments. It's a damn shame they ruined that by having Darla and Thorne bang each other...I mean, was Schae Harrison pregnant at the time and they had no other way to write that into the show? I mean, it still ended up as one of the more healthy Forrester marriages anyway but still.

It's typical Bradley Bell.  I get that it's his show but often times it seems lhe is like a petulant child, it's almost like if the actor looks at him wrong one day, they are dead to him and suddenly he stops writing for them.  It happened with Flo and Wyatt who just mysteriously disappeared (Flo several years ago, Wyatt a few months ago) with zero explanation.

It reminds me much of when my brother and I would get a new video cassette (back when those things were expensive as hell, especially the Disney ones!) and we'd play the damn movie for weeks until we get bored and never look at the movie again.

Easily, the biggest stand out example of this was Nick Marone, a guy whose presence ate up the show for years to the point that even his own fans grew sick of him, whose actor was allowed to get whole storylines scrapped because of his vanity and for who Schae Harrison, who'd been on the show as Darla for 15 years, was reportedly let go to pay for his salary.

And yet when Crap Wagner demanded more money than Bell was willing to pay? Poof, gone. No exit story, no goodbye to Brooke or even Donna, who he had just started a thing with a few months (or possibly even weeks!) earlier. I was discussing this recently on Reddit about how much story telling real estate Nick was given, only to never be referenced or discussed ever again, save for his brief appearance in the 35th anniversary special.

Edit: now that I think of it, while Jack Wagner wasn't wrong that the show had run outta things (and Logans) for him to do, I suspect the reason he was cut loose was because they had a new heel for the Forresters in Bill Jr, who was cheaper to pay for and who fans at the time hadn't gotten burned out over. But it's astonishing that they made up no story about him feeling the sea calling to him and going back to sailing or whatever to explain his absence.
