  1. They made sure it wouldn't be an all Outlander final. Sam and Cait are against each other in the 5th round.
  2. I had similar feelings in DIA. All I can say is that the last part of the book made me unable to resist reading Voyager.
  3. The website is back up. Sam leads 51% - 49%. His lead is about 130K votes.
  4. I have a confession,. If I see a book with a cover similar to the cover of #1, I automatically reject it. If Outlander had covers like that when it first came out, that's probably why I didn't read it until 2015!
  5. According to Diana Gabaldon's Facebook page, young Fergus has been cast. His name is Romann Berrux. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2783240/
  6. I noticed that in the finale of Season 1, Jamie didn't appear to be seasick when he and Claire were on the boat in the final scene. If I remember the book correctly, he became violently seasick on even the smoothest sea. I wonder if this is a hint that they will write Mr. Willoughby out of the TV series.
  7. As much as Claire wanted to go back through the Stones to find Jamie, she was also very insecure about what her reception would be. She knew he was alive but nothing else. She worried about how she looked and if he would still be attracted to her. After she finally finds him at the print shop, she scopes out the room where he sleeps for evidence that it houses two people. And the 'partnership' with the women who owned the bordello caused even more worry. When she's confronted with the fact that the had married and not bothered to tell her it had to make feel that all of her worst fears had come true. In her position, I would have thought, "I've made a huge fool of myself!" She had to feel humiliated.
  8. I just finished book 4. Should I read the Lord John Grey books and novellas before I go on to book 5?
  9. When an actor takes a role like Black Jack Randall, does he ever worry that he will be typecast or that the audience will turn away from watching him because they so identify him with BJR? I can see why an actor would want to tackle the role, but I wonder if there is a downside to it in the future.
  10. Sorry to reply to my own post, but I couldn't find an 'Edit' button. I forgot to mention that I don't think I've ever read of an author being as pleased with the adaptation of her book as DG has been.
  11. Considering the fact that they were adapting a 600 page book into 16 one hour episodes, I think they did a phenomenal job. Casting: A+ Set Design and Costumes: A Photography A Music A+ Are there some things that I might have done differently if I ruled the world? Of course there are. There are always going to be controversies over the decisions made when a popular book or series of books is adapted for TV or the movies. But for me, when you compare this body of work with other similar projects, this stands head and shoulders above the rest. I think the primary reason is that DG created characters we really care about and TV series has done a great job of bringing those characters to life in front of our eyes. I really look forward to Season 2.
  12. Here is a good article Shaunna Murphey at MTV about the significance of how Outlander handled the rape scenes in the season finale. http://www.mtv.com/news/2172693/outlander-season-finale-jamie-rape/
  13. Technical question about podcasts. Are they audio only? When I load the podcast from iTunes, I get audio only. There is a view button but nothing to view.
  14. A post from BookBub popped into my Facebook Newsfeed today. It said: "I met the man of my dreams last night in Chapter 5!" The next sentence was "Have you ever fallen in love with a fictional character?" There were a fair number of votes for Rhett Butler and Mr. Darcy, but the overwhelming majority of those I saw were for Jamie Fraser. :-)
