And that is a fact. Just like every other (fatal) illness (cancer, covid, alzheimer's, etc), it doesn't care that we're saying "eff you" or "go to hell [insert said disease]". What I meant was that Richard Sherman is aware of the risks associated to playing in the NFL. The way he plays his position differs from a running back or safety. Sherman hits hard and plays the game tough, but not to the degree that Kam did. Despite his other injuries, he's more likely to come out of this in better health than someone on the O-Line, a RB, or even the D-Line. The O-Line is hitting on every play. To close, when I made mention to Richard's smarts, I was referring to his education, and his common sense in the game of football. Maybe he does have CTE, but he's only played the game for less than a decade. I can't recall any issues that might have hampered him. Plus, Sherman does not have a history of this type of behavior that I'm aware of. Meowmommy, this caught me by surprise, though it's not a complete stunner. The man is a free agent and sometimes desperation and panic set in, along with not being within an organization where he'd be with a team working out and preparing for the 2021 NFL season.

Here's the thing. Leonard & Cole are welcome to do whatever they want in terms of the vaccine. I'm not upset that they're against it, but I'm simply mad that they will not shut up about it. I just do not see what there is to gain by using a platform to show one's opposition to the vaccine, but that's just my opinion
-
Since it's not Goulet, I guess everyone is now free to disregard any safety measures & concerns. Covid is done; I was wrong
-
I think I'd be shocked if Sherman had CTE. Not shocked if an NFL player gets it, but Richard is a smart guy & is well educated. Plus, his position and what he specializes in doesn't feature the stuff that would result in early head-trauma

One of the radio personalities in my local area said that the NBA should not have sent over anyone this year. I get not wanting to lose this cycle, but I'm sorry: it's just not worth it this year. People are saying that Covid is over. The fact is there is a difference between the levels of restrictions around the US & Planet Earth, while under the same pandemic. Still too soon to "assume nothing" and for what it's worth, the entire league shutdown immediately after Gobert's positive. Gobert alone was enough to make what turned out to be a tough, brutal, but correct call. And then there's the fact that people are coming off of a shortened off season, and really, the first of a couple.

I think it's possible that people lost in baseball when interleague play became a constant. Maybe not in 1997 but starting after that? Meh. I'd possibly respect it outright if the DH was included in the National League to coincide with those players facing American League players outside the All Star Game & the fall classic on an annual basis

The fact is that as of July 16th, 2021, no one can force someone else to receive the vaccine. I guess that's fair enough. What I'm loving quite frankly is how the NFL is sorta forcing someone else to receive the vaccine. They're business, and they can make up rules to make life miserable for those that are not vaccinated. Maybe it's messed up; maybe it's not. Either way, the league will win if someone takes them to court over it.

Well the Space Jam movie is getting very poor reviews ... To be fair, that movie is somewhat opposite over stuff such as F9 and Black Widow. Plus, both movies are part of a particular (and separate) franchise that are usually released in May. Nevertheless, "Space Jam 2" sucks and it has no excuse, including a possible conflict Game four was very good. Nothing against the decisive games, but this one had the ingredients of a classic. I'm still sticking with Phoenix. I never mentioned the total games played which I think isn't that necessary whenever people need to pick a winner (though it makes for a nice tie-breaker of sorts). You just never know what Milwaukee team will show up. I can see them "punting" on Saturday and then having enough in the tank to win with not much rest between a recently rare Tuesday to Thursday spot for what would be the final two games of the NBA Finals
-
I can't blame Kobe there, especially in an era where (his) critics or people in general won't shut up about one's work ethics. Today's audience would say he "quit" on his team and didn't finish things out and "lose with class" despite an impossible to overcome deficit

Seasons almost over. Looks like everyone will get better rest, and then normal rest to by 2022. However, injuries are still part of the game. As ofr Game 2, while the score wasn't close, this series shows that Milwaukee isn't that outmatched. JMO. Now, if Phoenix steals a game prior to next Friday, that's bad news for the Bucks. I think the Suns will still have to double their efforts (despite a 2-0 series lead) on the road. Looks like CP3's MVP to lose (unless he doesn't win the Finals, of course) Now, if Phoenix wins Game 3, they better win Game 4. None of that "win in front of your fans" nonsense!

Man, imagine if they actually kept plans for a Trevor Bauer Bobblehead Night on the schedule...
-
Pretty good game, I think. Not a total blowout, not a nail-biter. Giannis did okay coming off of injury. Probably better than resting him in what was going to be a loss anyway. Meanwhile, CP3 played as if he's been on the biggest stage before

Looks like ESPN "went nuclear" on Rachel, as they went ahead and cancelled "The Jump" (they said they would not). So, Suns FTW. Part of the reasoning is related to the Montreal Canadians (certain things are connected to 1993 this year). As mentioned, anything can happen (Baylor over Gonzaga). I think it'll be a good series. Both teams despite everything have enough to win games (up to 4). Not a great year with the injuries, but at the end of the game, everyone is a professional athlete

Looks like Giannis is a go for Game One! Edited to mention the news coming to you courtesy of a source from a source to WOJ/ESPN

Awful news. Someone mentioned elsewhere that they should ban fireworks. I don't think he meant overall (including the main stuff shown for Macy's or for one's local & official celebration within a city); if so I'll disagree. However, regardless of whether it was the original story or the official one, I agree that it should be banned for "amateurs" and/or civilians. It's really unnecessary and while people might disagree stating it's one guy; it really isn't. This is not unprecedented, and it's a problem (while uncommon overall, one that leads to bad news and tragedy more than it needs to be). Maybe treat it like most things where it's banned unless one gets proper training and a license to where they're permitted to set off fireworks in one's own backyard. It will not be easy to mandate but I don't think it'll be difficult either

I don't see Giannis playing in Game 1. Since his exit in Game 4 of the ECF & not counting that game, they have not trailed for a second in 96 minutes on gameplay, I believe. That was without Antetokounmpo. I don't think they'll win anyway, but I think they're capable of making it a series with their MVP/franchise player. At least they'll have a chance unlike Atlanta who would've been swept out of the Finals. Unless he can, and until it's necessary, no need to rush Giannis Antetokounmpo back. They probably need him by Game 3, even in a limited role. However, it is possible he might miss the entire series

You know it's a bad year when Inside the NBA is the (top) segment of the NBA Season!
-
Man, what a nice interview. Thank you, Marv.

I'm sorry, I have to ask: how do you do a multi-person quote like that? You have to manually select the entire content of a particular post
-
Phoenix is going to annihilate them, especially if Giannis isn't playing. Pretty much the same thing people said about Gonzaga against Baylor
-
This Trevor Bauer stuff is why I've often rolled my eyes when people in the media would say, "Why can't you be like this guy, or be like that guy?" while ripping on a controversial star. It's annoying to me because the guy that the media suggests you try to idol and adore may not be the nicest person out there. Personally, I idol family members (living and no longer living) before any celebrity or athlete. There are the stars that truly are good people but beyond that, no one knows the stars

To be fair, I guess the postseason is terrible without LeBron, Steph, KD, the Spurs, Lakers, and /or whatever team Kawhi is on with Leonard being active
-
CP3 is banged up himself. It is wild that he faced injury-filled teams, and it looks like he'll get lucky against the East winner (but not really since it may appear Trae & Giannis aren't going to be out for the postseason). Similar to Trae & Giannis, Chris isn't 100%

This just in: Christmas is still on December 25. Exclusively. Except for Bobby Bonilla!
