  1. You're right, but consider all those merder fans who watched for 11 seasons, watched derek die, wrote on twitter and Facebook all colors of disappointments, wrote a petition that collected almost 100000 signs and wrote all kinds of bad reviews online. After all that, after a large number of articles that discussed the importance of listening to the fans opinion, after all that backlash for killing one of fans favorite character, can you imagine add the offence of seeing meredith having a happy ending with someone else? Of course the healthy thing to do is moving on and, and if life allows it, fall in love again. I'm not saying either that every fans request should be embraced, I'm saying that this show already shocked his fanbase enough. It would be like HIMYM finale: you can't build a relationship for years and then change the goal in the end. Fans were furious. It ruined everything, I can't rewatch and enjoy an episode without thinking about that awful, unfair series finale. Considering the way they have built merder till season 10, i personally think that would be a wrong thing to do. Fans needs more respect. Probably the right thing to do is imply that she met somebody but not show it on screen, an open finale as you said.
  2. Absolutely agree. They couldn't do a "conventional" mourning episode because then you had to acknowledge the enormous importance of the character they decided to kill. The message of that episode was moving on, not give a proper goodbye. They did it to avoid further polemics about the choice of killing derek after last week colossal backlash, but still, it was wrong to the story and the viewers. About Alex and Meredith, I really hope the rumors will stay rumors. It will be a huge mistake, of the proportion of Gizzie, and ghost sex. Awkward as George/Meredith sex. I really hope they won't go there. I don't really want Meredith with anybody actually, I know it's fair for a widow eventually to fall in love again, but not in this context. You can't work on a couple for eleven years, and then change the goal in 10 episodes. The happily ever after part is already ruined, but every solution that implies meredith and somebody else in love at the end of the series feels wrong to me at this point.
  3. I'm sure you're right. Still, a few weeks compared to a whole season of trying with meds and fertility treatments feels forced. But there is no logic and continuity in this show anymore, so I give up.
  4. I don't like the pregnancy storyline. As a former MerDer fan I would have loved a third baby in normal circumstances, but not like this. This is a idea that a bad fan fiction writer could have developed. Feels like a candy that was given to viewers to placate their anger. In season 7, Meredith had hostile uterus; Now, she gets pregnant at the first try. I already said also that I'm doubtful about her name. Did you remember the one episode where Ellis was lucid? Did you remember actual Ellis Grey? Oh, and at the end, when ellis said: "i can do that, i can move on", and then they turn at meredith in the or. Seriously? that woman moved on? she gave up a baby and neglected the kid she already had. she abused her daughter psychologically, the whole show is about that. You can convince yourself you're what you want, but don't try to sell to me that ellis was a healthy stable single mother that moved on. Even during her sickness with Alzheimers she only remembered the surgeries and her affair with richard. That's your role model? you want to call your baby after her? Oh, and they should really stop with the carousel reference. They abused it. I didn't like also the too many flashback, as others said before, they just reminded me of how great this show used to be. Plus, What kind of mourning was that? Not only for meredith, but for everyone. I'm sure they have done it because fans were already depressed and, let's say this, this show has too many people to mourn. too many deaths. and since they couldn't do a proper tribute to derek, mostly to evitate even more backlash (because i'm sure people would have been even angrier and sadder), they switched the attention to the parallels between her and her mother. From next episode, derek will be surely forgotten. I laughed at the massive newborn and ellis' wig too. How sloppy can you be? didn't you just saved 10 million dollars thanks to the early release of patrick's contract? Bailey had a lobotomy, don't tell that Bailey is Bailey because i don't believe it. Hated all her scenes in the bed with Ben. Can't stand Amelia, sorry, jmo, she finds a reason to yell in every episode, i can't sympathize. Really can't. Alex is always at Mer's service: no other storyline for him. I'm sorry for Justin Chambers. Total disinterest for the others. I have no feeling for this show anymore. The only thing I liked is Mer wearing the ferryboats scrub cap. I wish I could say I like something else. Stacy McKee wrote episodes like Raindrops keep falling on my head, Elevator Love Letter, White Wedding. What happened? When will downward spiral end?
  5. this episode was so bad, i don't even know where to start. I need to collect my thought, that was a massive mess. I'll just say a thing, sorry but I'm shocked: Ellis???? the baby is named Ellis?? Wasn't the whole plot of the series the fact that Meredith didn't want to resemble her mother?? The emotionless, cold, heartless Ellis??? Oh God, at least I hope she's called Ellis Shepherd. I don't know if laugh or not
  6. Actually, I wouldn't be surprised if they did. THR is the website SR lately used for her official statements. I don't care how much they're saving, are they implying that he was earning too much? the contract is stipulated between two parts. Don't tell me that they're doing the math just now. Plus, how much the other dozen of useless regulars cost ABC? I don't know what the goal of this article is. it's a useless discussion. I don't care how much he earned, it was exactly how much they thinked he was worth just a few months ago.
  7. THR (the website that SR lately used for her statements) reports how much ABC is saving after releasing PD from his contract. http://t.co/l1kJaKESMj Now they're doing the math? Seriously?? The diva rumors don't catch on as they wanted, probably. Plus, I would like to know how much all the other regulars cost them.. then there would be a nice and fair discussion. ABC PR guys are a bunch of funny, funny people.
  8. I don't know and I don't care what kind of parent he is. The point is that he is accused of "being fired" for bad behavior, and that seems total BS to me because those websites are sourceless, and the guy worked there for almost a dozen years and no one ever said he was unprofessional before last week. He's one of the few that never missed an episode before this season (and apparently it wasn't his choice). I'm saying that I think is a cover up. How he spends his time is not my concern. About the racing interview in november, i agree he was out of line, but as i said before, patrick doesn't seems a machiavellian guy, he doesn't overthink thinks. he was wrong, he made a mistake. i wouldn't crucify or fire him for that. ellen said she was tired too in other interviews years before.
  9. even supposing that's true, it suddenly became an issue 8 years later? i don't believe it. the diva behavior is a cover up for something else he did (whatever it is, it must embarrass ABC too, considering their weird and strict silence policy). which, is not even the real issue here. the real problem is they handled his exit badly, and they are handling the (bad) reactions to the death and the episode even in a worse way.
  10. The only one that had the guts to call this episode "fantastic" (according to that girl that plays a patient), was ellen pompeo. and jessica capshaw maybe. i haven't read a good review yet. even kristen don santos and matt roush are hesitant. and imdb gave the episode 4.9/10, one of the lowest ever for a GA episode.
  11. Tina Majorino said that the diva rumors aren't true to her working experience with PD. Nobody said he was a difficult actor till last week. Meanwhile, abc isn't responding to any comments, but suddenly all those gossip websites have anonymous sources that indicate that patrick had a bad behavior at work. the costume designer posted a tweet about him and it gets deleted. jesse williams said that he didn't tweet anything to PD (as KMK did) "just to avoid spoilers", everybody was busy to say goodbye but everybody made time to promote the episode with those stupid hashtags. ellen posted a tweet that sounded written by a bunch of pr guys. that's not a different way to handle the exit of a character, there's a huge storm going on.
  12. i wouldn't be surprised if abc is using cheap gossipy websites to try to win some fans back. after all, they used a gossip website to spread the spoiler of death of derek the first time. that's damage control. i'm not believing a word from those websites.
  13. The carousel never stop turning, but the motor are the fans. and while there a lot of them that are truly rude and irritating, they were not treated well. They overreacted but God, Shonda didn't wrote an episode from season 8 (and it was a catastrophic one- and the one before, the musical one, was ridiculous), never tweeted about the show, she was almost careless about it. She mostly explained her choices with c*rap as "trust the journey". Then she came back and kill the fans favorite guy. The crew has nothing to do with it, and I'm sorry for them, but what did they expect? Didn't shonda want the shock and the buzz? Here it is.
  14. so you think in a few days/weeks this mess will blow out and the show will go on with the same numbers in September? May be, it's a possibility. Honestly I won't watch anymore because enough is enough, this show has became inconsistent -death after death, new useless character after new useless character, discontinuity, dropped and/or recycled storylines. all i cared about was the originals; and: bailey has become someone else, richard never had a storyline on its own since he's a man; derek is dead, alex is meredith's psych/nanny and meredith is going to be a tragic character again. if people can take this, then i suppose this show can go on forever. i was hoping all this mess could shake shonda's arrogance, but i guess i was wrong. oh, they just announced a new disaster in Seattle, how original. (press release 11x23/11x24)
  15. true. she decided to take a huge risk, maybe she actually wanted and calculated all the buzz. but this is a double-edged sword: nobody can say right now if this will benefit her and the show, or will actually destroy it. we'll have to wait to know. but i don't like the method, and with me many fans- if this has any importance to her or abc.
  16. i understand you point of view, but i always thought and he actually made a difference, i'm one of those who thought that meredith having a family and dealing with her issues is more interesting than dramatic, whiny, tragic meredith. i don't think that married women can't stand on her own or be as challenged as single women. they are just different paths. the truth is that shonda underestimates all her male characters, and derek was just "meredith's husband", as owen was interesting just in function of cristina. i don't like the moral shonda is dictating us, and i sure am a feminist.
  17. Well, she made the decision (according to PD at least), and she surely wrote the episode and decided the way he exited the series. She made the mess, she has to face the reactions
  18. that would work if this show would actually deal with mourning and losses. they just drop the bomb and forget about it in a couple episodes. there are characters basically forgotten after their deaths (the last one is baby samuel's death). It's just bad writing.
  19. i'm sure shonda/abc made her tweet that, waited for the reaction then she supported that. she's hiding under ellen's wing because people are not mad at ellen as much as they are with her. she is pathetic. you did the mess, you fix it. take courage and stand up for your own decisions. I love watching this unfold too, the more they try to promote the show and underestimate derek's death, the more they struggle. i may be mean, but she did this to herself after all.
  20. i'm gonna do like cristina yang: i was right! i'm right!!! (tears). this to me confirms that ellen was asked to write that tweet. shonda is hiding under ellen's wing. this whole thing put shonda even in a worst light to me.
  21. you're right, i meant that what she said was just a formal statement and not a real honest explanation. when she killed mark she published a post on whosay or something. before that there was the writers blog. she hasn't explained her reason yet.
  22. I'm waiting patiently for that. she'll make up something stupid and hilarious for sure.
  23. I respectfully disagree. The originals are the only things that keeps this show decent. i have a total disinterest for all the new interns, and jo (that without alex is barely a character), stephanie, the umpteenth secret half sister, april and jackson etc etc. this show was build on a few very good characters that are dying like flies and in the most absurd ways. So I care when one of them dies just to boost ratings or to placate shonda. plus, after 10 years of shooting 15 hours a day, it's nothing but fair that longtime actors reduce hours. i just wished it was quality time.
  24. sure, but not every horror in the world should happen to one show, and to one person. that's ridiculous. that's an excuse for bad writing in this case.
  25. that's why it sounds so calculated, although is a nice speech. but they won't let her satisfy the fans even with such a simple sentence?? omg, what must have he done to deserve this.
