I've liked a bunch of recipes from the show and several are in regular rotation in my house. Carla's groundnut stew, the everything bagels, several pastas, Michael's pork parmesan--there are a bunch!

The Mario story broke over a weekend and I do not think he was slated to be in any episodes the following week. They asked him to step away while they investigated and fired him like 48 hours later.
I still think ABC did the right thing here, though the right-er thing would have been to pay attention to the rumblings and either not hire Johnny or at least not start airing the season, since by that point it was clear which way the wind was blowing. I agree it does suck for the contestants and for those of us who like the show (in my case, despite Johnny, whom I've never cared for much). I wonder if they will bring it back for another season with new host(s) or if this is the end?

We use twisted metal icicles on our tree, which don't hurt the floor when the cats pull them off and are inedible, even to my cardboard-munching oddball. I like them a lot, even though I find them under furniture until roughly June. Like these: https://www.amazon.com/Victorian-Christmas-Tree-Tinsel-Ornaments/dp/B0131J0X30

Couldn't stand the annoyingly-overconfident fondant woman!!!!!
Fondant Woman. Worst superhero ever. (I did not like her, either.)

I bought a Christmas tree skirt last year. I got tired of replacing them thanks to cats pooping on them. With my malicious pooper (who I adored otherwise) on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge and losing my sweet old girl in September, the only cat with run of the house is our old tuxedo, I might put the skirt around the tree this year. Ornaments that aren’t durable are out of reach.
My nearly 18 year-old kitty was a malicious pooper until recently. With my dad's health issues, my husband and I have had to take six out of town trips this year and Hillary decided to express her displeasure by pooping in random places. I've been home for a couple of months now without leaving and she is finally calming down and not leaving "presents" anymore.
My younger kitties are almost two and almost three. The older of the two was a terrorist to the tree the first time she coexisted with it. I took it down on boxing day because I was so tired of chasing her out of it. This year, though they will obsess about a different ornament daily, they are much more civilized. Strategic decorating helps, too. Nothing breakable or heavy goes within reach.

My DVR literally cut off at, "the winner... is..." Glad to hear the fondant twerp did not win and hoping greasy boy did not, either. I was rooting for the woman who made ginger cookies so good that Damiano--who does not like ginger cookies--asked for the recipe. Is that who won?

Wasn't Jubilee the one who was buried in the gun cartridge case? I seem to remember JB walking around with this metal case. They also had a funeral service with several hundred attendees, a cemetery plot and headstone. The whole thing was bizarre.
Yes. They buried her in an ammo box. As you do. And yes, the way they made a spectacle of it was completely bizarre and narcissistic. Not discounting that they were actually grieving, but this is the Duggars, so I suspect a good part of their grief was related to their competetive child-birthing failure.

I think it's the right choice (and the only one they could have made after asking Batali to step away) but I am still sad. I enjoy the show. They need to find some hosts that are not tools (read: neither Iuzzini nor Hollywood)

Who are the finale 4 says woman with brain like sieve? :^)
Aaron May, Eric Greenspan, Damaris Phillips, and Carl Ruiz (is that his last name? one of the effects of Guy's constant nicknaming is I often do not know the real names).

I read the NYT piece and I am so creeped out (bullet: it is about the allegations against Ken Friedman and includes a note about a woman who saw Batali on a security camera feed groping and kissing an unconscious woman and moved to intervene). I am a lifelong feminist and a former rape crisis counselor so maybe that is why it affronts me so much when men I admired and did not suspect turn out to be creeps. So disappointed.

I love the idea of Brian Boitano or Marcus Samuelsson. Alex G could be fun. Please, no Anne Burrell.

I can see that Aaron (sp?) May is a good chef but I find him so unpleasant to look at (and I like Eric Greenspan!) that I find myself hoping he does not win.

YES! He is always "on". Very perky and emotional.
To me, that feels insincere. I prefer people who are more real. Jeremy doesn't feel real to me. Of course, i have never met him so who knows?
I originally read this as insecure and I think that applies, as well.

I love Ming Tsai and he would be a good fit, I think they need another woman, too.

No, no, no! Not Mario, too! I liked him.

I did not mind mustache Joe's double entendre because he blushed so thoroughly when he said it. As far as villains, I suspect Tyler could get a bit old and the I thought the THs the Mexican woman from San Diego did were definitely trending mean girl.

Step stools, have they ever heard of step stools?
Seriously! Why must they always plant butts on their kitchen counters? My mom would have skinned us alive for that and I don't disagree that is appropriate. With a household of seventy-eleven kids, having step stools is an absolute no-brainer. Which, I suppose, explains why the dimwits don't do it--they do not use brains.

The picture I posted was from The Chew's account who reposted Daphne's announcement and they acknowledged it on the show today, showing the picture and congratulaing her. They most likely were in the middle of filming yesterday's show when she posted the announcement.
So it was, thanks. Sorry, I am both Instagram-illiterate and a day behind on the show.

Daphne had her daughter!
It would be nice if the show would acknowledge that. Not sure of the politics of her leaving so I have no idea if they will mention it.
It seems like Mario is only on every other week this season. I think the show is better when it is the four of them.

And no one can be bothered to be holding Sammy. Maybe Cathy's husband is the photographer?
That is odd, isn't it? I don't like babies, but generally people who are related to them want to hold them, don't they? Especially a grandmother or uncle/aunt? (Too much to hope for the parents here, obviously.)

Glad Amy is gone. I didn't like her for some reason. Her stupid hair bugged me and she mispronounced mascarpone on this episode.

Tori & Company In The Media
in True Tori [V]
That's what I wondered. What an odd card. Half Victorian, half American Gothic. Dean needs a pitchfork.
