  1. Wow, I am shocked. The charges are disgusting. He served nine months in jail and lived with Grant as he could not live in the house with another minor, which would have been a than 12 year-old Jake. I also feel it is time for this show to end. He committed this crime as a 15 year-old juvenile so I wonder how the police report was obtained, normally juvenile records are sealed. I wonder if the mother of his daughter ( age 9 ) knew/knows about this.
  2. I have to say the concept of WB fishing in Norway is a joke. That tiny boat and the inexperienced crew. Hard to believe he could not fish for SOMETHING in Alaska. Sig smoking like crazy and screeching and screaming surely is not good for someone who almost died from a heart attack.
  3. I rewatched this episode yesterday. I was surprised to hear Josh's brother Shane say he had fished on the CM 25 years ago. That would have taken him back to the late 90's. I had no idea he fished with Phil, especially since he was the one who kept him from seeing J & J for so many years. It did sound like it was not a good experience as he said he has sworn he would never fish on the CM again. Funny how money and tv can change that.
  4. It's called money and ratings. Back when that CM special was aired someone from Discovery gave an interview(which I read ) and described Phil as a "flawed" person or something like that. The people at Discovery knew Phil was not father of the year and played it up because people loved his character. In those very early shows Phil used to make statements about his many regrets, and you could sense it was more than being away from his sons.
  5. Hi everyone long time not on this thread. Shane is Josh and Jake's half-brother from their mother's (Mary Harris) first marriage. They also has an older half-sister from that marriage. They also have a younger sister from Mary. When Phil divorced Mary Harris, Josh was eight( 8) and Jake was five (5 ). According to the book on Phil that came out in round 2013, Mary was with Phil for a total of around 14 years. Phil married his second wife Teresa around 1991 and they were married for about 10 years. Somehow Phil gained custody of both boys. Teresa was both physically and verbally abusive to both of them. From what I could gather from the book it appeared she was more physically abusive to Jake and verbally abusive to Josh. She had a substance problem and passed in appx. 2010. All of this was discussed in the special on the CM a few years ago on Discovery. Phil knew the abuse was going on and never did anything. Josh was kicked out by Phil and Teresa at 15, Jake left the home at 14. Phil was not father of the year and had horrible substance abuse issues up until his death. It sounded like their childhood was a mess. I have no ideas when they began contact with their two half-siblings. Sad that Phil was nasty enough to keep siblings from seeing each other. This show has been going down hill for may years. I think it has out-lived it's tv time.
  6. I saw the special and enjoyed the segment on Johnathan. I will miss him this year. Well, it did not surprise me to learn that Jake Anderson has has anger management issues since he was a child. When interviewed, Jake said he had been required to attend counseling as a child. He is 37 years-old man and I am so tired of seeing him act like a child. His temper tantrums and shit fits have, in MHO, become very tiring. Maybe he should consider enrolling in anger management counseling again. I will take Josh and his big mouth over Jake Anderson any day. To answer someones question, yes I believe Josh is still popular. Last year I casually followed the DC FB page and a lot of people were pissed off that the CM was off the show. They need someone to replace Johnathan. I really like Casey Mc Manus and, in MHO, he was the person who saved Josh's ass and kept that boat going. Without Casey, I don't think he would ever had been able to take the CM out and fish. I am curious how things will be shown with the new owners if at all since the CM wasn't on last year.
  7. I saw last week about Ami being fully recovered and I was shocked. I have never heard of anyone, including a BIL and Aunt, recover from stage 4 cancer. So, I assume Disco and the browns sunk to a new low. NOTE : I could not find the show under the "A" for the new format. What does the show come under ?
  8. If I remember right, Matt was living out of state and did not apply for the tax money. Both girls were minors at the time and were not charged. Everyone else was charged with the Theft. Billy and Bam were the only two who pled guilty and were sentenced to "jail". All charges against everyone else was dismissed. Any news on how Ami is doing ?
  9. Checker - According to the above article, rumors have Ami doing very poorly. As to where they are living this will answer everyone's question: A quote from the In Touch Weekly article: "Amid reports Alaskan Bush People matriarch, Ami Brown, is just days away from succumbing to stage-four lung cancer, rumors are swirling that her family has begun filming Season 8 without her. Ami's youngest child, Rain Brown, recently posted a photo on Instagram in Trinidad, CO, aka the site of the Brown family's new digs — which no one expected them to return to until they began filming. Currently, the reality star family lives in a mansion in Beverly Hills — close to where Ami is receiving treatment. The $2.7 million mansion has it all, according to Radar Online: five bedrooms, four bathrooms, a master suite that has its own jacuzzi, and gorgeous marble floors. However, the best part is the crystal clear in-ground pool and hot tub in the backyard, surrounded by pretty trees and flowers. It's a far cry from the Alaskan wild, that's for sure" ! It also says they having begun filming "for the money". I know cancer treatments are expensive(my Dad's were and he had ins.) but, you would think with all the money they made from the show that Billy and Ami would have good health insurance. I wonder if they own the "2.7 million dollar mansion"?
  10. On 10/18/2017 at 7:48 AM, Beden said: AZ, c'mon...they have jobs; they're reality TV stars. AND backwoodsmen. Coffee spewing out of the nose first thing in the morning - NOT good. LOL. OMG - both these cracked me up. I do believe ami has cancer. Any of the other stuff - nope.
  11. Well, I am not surprised by this. Johnathan is retired and they needed someone to fill the void. I think Andy has not been a fan of disco for years and Neil was never a fan. Based on what I saw on disco FB page last year they took a lot of shit when they dropped the CM. Ugh, another season of listening to 37 year-old Jake Anderson scream, bitch and throw temper tantrums like a toddler. I would take Josh over Jake, which is not saying much.
  12. I could not agree more. The show is long since past its prime.
  13. I plead guilty. Just wondering how she is doing.
  14. Holy Shit the Beverly Hills Hotel ! That place cost a fortune ! So sad to hear how bad Ami is. Sounds sadly like she does not have much time left. How could we forget that "science lesson" -lol. RO - Thank You for the recaps and love both of the pics posted.
  15. Loved the final scenes from Mandy's wedding, so looked so pretty. I agree about Nick and Edgar. I can not see that one working out at all. I also like Sean - a very level headed guy ho does not have anger issued like Jake. I saw that posted a couple of weeks ago about Hannes. Very sad - way to young to die.
  16. Wow - I am really sorry to hear that. She is too young to die. Very sad. I guess that explains why she is not getting any more treatment and they are moving to Colorado. SR - I agree. The ALF people could live on their own. It appears both Atz and Otto in fact did. So the show may be bs now but they could survive unlikr out Bush Family.
  17. RO - Hope you are better now and on the road to recovery. I can understand the last wish thing but I thought they would stay in Cali and head to the mountains there. Just as "wild" as Colorado. SR - Lol - I'll bet they will only be a short distance from a major city. Those Alaska The Last Front. people only live a short distance from Homer, Alaska and act like they are hundreds of miles from civilization.
  18. Beden - From the little I know stage 4 lung cancer that has spread has a short life span. Both my BIL and an Aunt passed from it but that was many years ago. Treatments have improved. But, Ami looks very weak and frail. I think she has a battle in head of her.
  19. A convicted felon is not permitted to own a weapon. Not sure if it applies to misdemeanors. Matt and the two girls, who were minors at the time, were the only ones not charged. Matt was living out of state and did not file for the refund. I watched the show this week and could not for the life of me figure out why they took the cannon on the boat other than for tv purposes. My niece was just diagnosed with thyroid cancer. She just saw the cancer surgeon a week ago and goes back in Sept. They will discuss surgery options then. From what I can gather the need for quick surgery depends on the type of cancer. It sounds like sadly, Ami odds are against her. Why they would leave Calf. is beyond me. What is the nearest big town she could receive treatment in Colorado ? she looks very weak and maybe needs to gain her strength before she starts treatment. She seems to have lost a lot of weight.
  20. I loved this episode with Johnathan ! I also loved his send off too. And like you said AZ, I am glad he is leaving while still able to enjoy his retirement. The love from his crew was so sweet. I wonder who will take his place. Also nice to see the bonding between Keith and John. Happy Retirement Johnathan !
  21. Kassy - So true. I think Disco has taken the show about as far as it can go. I also read somewhere that numerous captain's contracts are up for renewal.
  22. It also seems like an extra long season to me too. amazing how mature 25 year-old Sean is to a ranting, screaming, soon-to-be 37 year-old Jake Anderson.
  23. Hi AZ - LOL - You crack me up ! In this case I think renaming the boat will be the best thing that has happened since the Browns "bought" it. This is coming from someone who is only 5'1", but I think all the Browns look pretty short. I missed the show last week so thanks to everyone for their recap. Obviously not missing much. I agree that they all have pretty much checked out and want little if anything with this shit show. I know if it was me, I would want to spend as much time as possible with my mother and not be filming this laughable so called show. However, must be hard to give up the pay checks. After all, that's what is probably helping to pay for Ami's cancer treatment.
  24. I think it may not be their house. Something disco rented for them to stay in. It does not look that big to hold them all.
  25. Lonesome Rhodes - Typical disco "This is the worst storm the fishing fleet has ever faced" story line. I was also surprised that Wild Bill did not go ballistic on his crew. I don't know if he is mellowing..... Brgjoe - I agree, maybe he just felt fishing in that weather was punishment enough. I don't think Jake A. could have been able to handle that storm like Sig did, but he does have almost 30 years more experience than Jake.
