  1. Not a specific scene but the dancers of FAME turned up every awards show during the series run. Debbie Allen's style was dance on TV.

For just dancing I have had friends on Soul Train from the late 70s up into the 90s. I was wondering how long they could keep going before being retired. The most noticeable was Jody Watley before Shalamar with her signature move of whipping out a Japanese hand fan, Japanese Americans were the largest minority group to the Black majority at our school a decade after White flight. She was two years ahead of me in school and nice despite her celebrity status.

  2. It is not an actual quote but the scene where Snoop is talking to a "citizen" at the hardware store as if he were in the game when discussing the killing abilities of a .22 cal bullet.

For actual quotes as a union worker from season two, "seniority system sucks, unless you're senior"

Horseface "don't worry you're still on the clock"

Marlo discussing Omar's escape from his ambush "that some real Spiderman shit there"

And the scene that was the soul of the series. "String, what about Wallace"

  3. Third Watch started out as a cross between Adam-12 and Emergency but to hide Molly Price's real life pregnancy Officer Yokas was shot by Sgt Cruz. No big deal dirty cop, a police show standard. Then came the twist NBC wanted changes to Third Watch making it The Shield lite starring Sgt Cruz/ Tia Texada. So they go back to working together because a NYPD Sergeant was also undercover for the FBI, thus immune from prosecution or working with friends of the woman she shot I guress

  4. I grew up on the city side of the border in Los Angeles and later worked on the city line and besides the uniforms it is easy to tell the differences between LAPD and LASD. As I remember the few show's featuring the Sheriffs after Rodney King when LAPD temporarily became the unwanted department for TV there were not the differences.

I don't see the rest of the Jack Webb empire, most notably Dragnet to contrast with Adam-12 on this boards active list, nor its spiritual child Southland.

Any thoughts on the 90's revival of Adam-12. It was not an unpleasant way to spend a Saturday as a break between football games

  5. At the beginning Officer Reed was young. Check out the last episode where a burnt out Jim after serving in an undercover narcotics unit is on the verge of losing his wife thinking of quitting, as Officer Malloy was in the first episode
