  1. Yeah I agree that a Deacon/Brooke pairing probably won't be as hot as the OG version. But if they do hook up I doubt it'll be more than a fling. No marriages or babies, just a down and dirty "make me feel good" fling. She'll come to her senses and drop him. I think he could pull her, but theres no way he could keep her long term. He doesnt even have a job right now. lol A big part of me hopes Brill is endgame. They just look so good together. Their chemistry is off the charts. Does anyone here know how the soap fan world at large is taking this version of Ridge? He's just so insufferable to me (and, I'm noticing, to a lot of us here). Are there large swaths of fans that want this Ridge to get back with Brooke? He's been on canvas a while now and I'm wondering how viewer feedback is affecting his character direction. I don't get the feeling that the show is trying to get me to root for this character, but he's "Ridge" and i haven't noticed them doing any propping or attempts to make me want to root for him. Just curious...
  2. Yeah count me in the column of bagging Brooke being Deacon's goal. Plus sticking it to Bill for the Hope Liam wedding debacle as a side benefit. He took the helicopter info to ridge and Katie first instead of Brooke for a reason. He can't outright start hitting on Brooke but he can do his part to unravel her relationship by just happening to be in the right place at the right time with the right info. He can spark the match that leads to the Brill breakup without any guilt. Then he can be there as a shoulder for Brooke to cry on and get her into a quick rebound fling situation. Ridge is the xfactor in that scenario though. Will a newly single Brooke be worth dumping Katie for? I doubt it personally because I've yet to see any chemistry between nuRidge and Brooke. Thus far I'm having a hard time viewing Bridge as end game.
  3. One thing I like about how KKL is playing her scenes with Deacon is just this exasperated look of being on edge around him. She and her family are pretty refined and Deacon just pops up and back into the fold (I noticed when he came back from the kitchen he had made himself a snack lol). He's so unpredictable and I love how that makes everyone else so nervous. I also like how Hope seems to be the most comfortable and accepting of him since all things aside, he'll always be her blood/father. The little kid in her is always going to want to believe that he's not a bad guy.
  4. Wooooow at that cliff hanger ending. That was awesome. Lol I loved the record scratch and the shot of Frankie literally clutching his pearls. That may be my favorite BB episode ending ever.
  5. The only guarantees in life are taxes, death and B&B wafflers. LolThings are nice and groovy right now but I will never ever put it past these writers to do an about face on any of these relationships for no particular reason at all. The history of this show is built on wafflage. The writers eat waffles for breakfast. They vacation in Belgium. I think either Liam or Hope are guaranteed to waffle again at some point. They are too young and there's no way the two of them stay happily together forever. That's just not how this show works. They'll bring in Ivy or recast Steffy or Wyatt will slide back in and we'll wash rinse repeat. I mean Liam and Hope have had like 4 aborted weddings in their 3 or so years together on the show. This is what they do. Lol
  6. Blackwing, I think it's a combo of both those things- I think Liam is probably the "never hit a woman under any circumstances" type and I'd also bet money he doesn't know how to fight/defend himself. He wasn't raised by Bill. I doubt he had anyone teach him how to fight or disarm someone when in danger. It's not as simple as kicking, screaming and running away (which he couldn't do anyways thanks to his injured ankle) when someone has a knife (sword?! Lol) to my neck. If it was me, i would have probably snapped and hit her weeks ago to nip this all in the bud lol. In that moment though, I probably would've been frozen with fear like he was.
  7. Just finished yesterday's episode and want to cosign everyone's kudos for what good stuff that was. I have to give the writers credit, they know when to pull the leash on people and keep things balanced. We knew Quinn wasn't going to kill Liam but this resolution was totally believable, imo. This basically went from hilarious to dark to a pretty realistic portrayal of a son dealing with a mom who obviously has some mental health issues. That's something I see people in the real world deal with every day. Heck I see it on tv *glancing over at Mama Joyce from RHOA*. It does the duel purpose of making Wyatt much more sympathetic (man I could actually see little kid Wyatt wishing that Quinn wouldn't be around when he woke up each morning) while also not painting the Quinn character into a corner she couldn't get out of if she seriously injured someone. The wonders competent writing can do. Also loved Hope acknowledging how crummy it was of her to judge Brooke for her relationship missteps. She's shown some real self awareness lately that makes her much more likeable for me.
  8. All I can go by is what I'm being shown. I didn't see the reference to the power being out due to a storm. It was windy but was it raining outside? Its not raining at Medieval Times, or at the Forrester mansion, Rick's house, or at the coco cabana club where Hope is with Wyatt tossing back beers. If the show intended us to believe the power was out, a simple shot of him flicking an inoperable light switch would have sufficed. I didnt see that and i could plug in those holes on my own, but i dont feel like taking on that job. It makes more sense to me that the show wanted me to chuckle at a grown man nestling into bed with his ipad at like 8pm, getting super scared of noises, tripping over furniture, taking himself to urgent care, then getting harassed by a crazy lady after he returned home. Liam shivering at the sight of Quinn who immediately calls him a whiny little bitch is hilarious to me. She thinks that of him and I think the show wants me to think "hahaha hell...she's kind of got a point" about him too. Is that the totality of Liam's character? Not at all. But he's been acting like this for the last 3 episodes and its cracking me up. Did anyone notice the smoking cauldron when Deacon was creeping around Quinn's lair? I bet some set designer had a blast with that. Lol Oh and Quinn needs a good butt whupping. I'm not saying Liam should hit her, but I'd understand. ©C. Rock
  9. Great point. I'm wondering if they're just doubling down on the comedy thing for him since he's so good at it. I think he does drama pretty well (I loved his Emmy reel) and he's great at comedy but he's got that baby face (no matter how much mangy hair they allow him to grow on it) and imo never had much sexual chemistry with anyone (other than Quinn lol).
  10. Liam is being ridiculous. Turn on the damn lights! Even 8 yr old Kevin Mcallister from Home Alone knew to light his house up like a Christmas tree to deter a break in. It is kind of hilarious though. This idea of Liam the man-child being kind of afraid of the dark while his nemesis Quinn works away in her dungeon blow torching fine jewelry. It's all a bit campy. I'm hoping that's intentional.
  11. I have a haaard time seeing how they would get to Liam and Quinn hooking up but I've most definitely felt the chemistry between the actors. RS has so much chemistry with anyone she's in a scene with though. They just really did a terrific job casting her, imo. I think whats happening is it's my first time seeing Liam have sexual chemistry with anyone so I'm wondering if thats intentional by the writers or just a byproduct of how intense she is as an actress. If they did go there though, I think the easiest way for it to happen would be an Amber/Liam situation where he's drunk, drugged or passed out so he has some type of plausible deniability. I think they'd have to do a complete 180 on his character for him to willingly do her though. Although thats totally not unrealistic with the way the writers have been changing course on some of these character personalities lately. I definitely see a lot of that manic energy Sheila had. I'm wondering if they'll go full tilt with that, though. The thing about Sheila for me is I'd always be excited when she first returned from the dead or whatever because I'm always a fan of the return of legacy characters. But then a week or so into her return I'd remember how much I hate her and want her off the show again. There was no grey with her. She was so evil that it just became hard/uncomfortable to watch her. So far Quinn has been more of a dark comedy while Sheila was like a horror movie. I enjoy RS so I hope they keep her intense and quirky without pushing her into Sheila sociopath territory which i think would paint her into a corner and limit her storyline potential.
  12. See, this is the problem with the repetitive, unrealistic relationship storytelling for this show. In a vacuum, in the real world, or even on a show where the storylines weren't so repetitive, Wyatt approaching Hope after she broke up with him yesterday would be a problem or something to be irritated/upset about. She's decided she wants to be with his brother (yuck) and dumped him. They weren't married and they don't have kids. Nothing good can come from him trying to spend alone time with her. Dude, just send her a text. It's the whole "you just dumped me/broke my heart but I'm suddenly, totally okay with us being friends now" thing. You don't want to be friends, you want to hang around so that she doesn't forget about you and maybe she'll want to date you again if (when) she hits a rough patch with Liam. Real world Liam would be totally justified in saying "you need to give this some space so that you can get over her and get comfortable with the fact that she and i are together now. Once that has happened, then you guys can figure out if there's enough there to make a friendship work." However, this isn't the real world. This is BellA and the Liam we've been given doesn't have any right to ask for that space. As Snaporaz pointed out above, these triangles just don't give anyone the power to request that anyone respect their relationship. Every single relationship on this show has some level of inappropriateness or lack of respect for boundaries. People fall in and out of love in a matter of days. It's hard to respect any dialogue like this that would be perfectly justified in the real world, because the majority of times these folks don't act like real people.
  13. I keep thinking about the ABC Family show Pretty Little Liars. That show is geared to young folks and while nothing ever seems to happen on the show wrt the main premise (the 4 main characters trying to find out who has been terrorizing them for years) there is something interesting and dramatic that happens in every episode. Every episode ends with a cliff hanger of some sort. The characters are well developed. I guess what I'm wondering is why won't soap writers pay attention to how successful shows that take into account our fast paced lives do their thing? There's gotta be a middle ground between being true to the soap opera genre (story lines and characters that go on for years) while advancing plots in a timely manner that works for today's tv viewers. Just some random thoughts. I've always felt that RM leaving completely blindsided the writers. I don't think they really thought he would walk away. I think Brad went out of his way to be all "the show will go on" about it all but the way they wrote Ridge's exit really seemed like they both scrambled to come up with it and also wanted to spite the Ridge character a bit in retaliation. They were doing all of this build up to Stephanie dying and I can't see how Ridge wasn't supposed to be a big part of that. I think cooler heads would have taken a breath and written a better explanation for his abrupt exit but I just don't think the writers were capable of doing that at the time. Ridge's exit looked petty and I think that was intentional. They wanted us to feel negatively towards that character and that actor.
  14. I love Obama but dang bruh you couldn't have cut in on Y&R instead? Watching that show is such a chore now.
  15. Gah i loved this episode! Quinn morphing into Stephanie; Rick, his wife, sister and niece all in a room together waiting for news; Hope fessing up to the HFTF messaging being dumb; Liam's incessant need to be kind to his brother (he's always been dense); Hope's face when she hears Deacon's voice though the door; Mermaid!Ridge not being missing for more than a week or so (*glares at Y&R and its 2 year long mysteries with stupid payoffs*). It's so crazy that this show is doing all of the little detail things I used to love about its sister show Y&R. It's such a pleasure watching this show now. Argh I don't know how this happened and its messing with my mind. lol
  16. Lol @ Elroy Jetson. I'm on a Mac using Chrome and have had pretty decent luck with the site lately *knocks on wood*.
  17. SweePea can you watch it on the CBS.com site? I use that and the CBS app on my iPad to watch it most days. It's definitely not as convenient as watching it on tv but they add episodes pretty quickly after airing and it fits my schedule.
  18. The last I remember, Amber mentioned him a few years ago when she was last featured on Y&R. I think he even made a brief appearance (he was like 9 or 10) and I made a mental note how ridiculous that was because young adult Hope had already been introduced to B&B by that point. I think they were trying to keep Amber young so they didn't want to age him even though we all know he was born before Hope. Add in the Marcus/Amber/Oliver/Liam/Hope drama resulting in baby Rosie and it all got kind of murky.I thought Amber was hiding him out from Deacon so she sent him to boarding school. I never watched GH (?) but my nostalgia for SK comes from him playing a bully in one of the Karate Kid movies lol. I have a soft spot for pretty much any actor from teen movies from the 80's/early 90's. As far as Deacon specifically I like the fact that he's basically trash. He brought an element of grit to the Bell-A universe for me that contrasted well with the wealthy Forrestors. It's always been implied that The Logan's were this family from the other side of the tracks but truthfully they were nothing compared to Amber, Deacon and Becky. Deacon was trash who was often able to get one over on the Forresters which was entertaining for me. I hope he and Quinn have the right kind of mischief. So far they've done a good job of yanking the leash on Quinn after she's crossed a line. As far as I remember they were able to do that with Deacon too. Hopefully the writers keep it all in check. Edited to add- I also love it when the show mines it's actual history. Deacon has a lot of history on this show with characters currently on the canvas like Rick, Brooke and Hope.
  19. "Know her? Honey, I'm her Daddy." lol Love me some Deacon Sharpe. It'll be interesting to see what mayhem he causes this go round.
  20. There was a scene a while back at SP with Quinn basically threatening Bill with telling Brooke unless he made Wyatt a Spencer. This may have even been the day Bill officially got his company back. At some point Liam came by and Quinn made it clear to both of them that she was willing to blackmail Bill. Liam pleaded with Bill to just tell Brooke the truth (i think he even got his phone out to start calling Brooke for him) but Bill wouldn't do it. I remembered that scene because I really liked the fact that Liam was aware of the blackmail plot. Usually with these shows the audience is screaming at the screen to just tell the truth because the blackmail will never end. It was good to hear Liam saying just that. My whole issue with this is why isn't anyone calling Quinn out on her having taken the pic in the first place? It'd be different if they posed together or even made a sex tape, but she was malicious in taking the pic. The only reason a person would take a selfie with someone sleeping in the background is to prove that they were there for future leverage. Also (im rambling now) why hasn't Liam told everyone that as far as he knows, Quinn tried to kill him a few weeks ago in that spa? I think he got close to telling Bill about it but got distracted. I'm guessing with every single person on the show piling it on about how horrible she is now it really isn't necessary but for me it totally helps justify his anger for her.
  21. Totally agree. Bill is like Brad, but with much more real, tangible power. Brad had a similar ladies man thing going, but in Genoa City he was never on equal footing to the major power players. It's a lot more entertaining to watch Bill for me.
  22. I don't believe he used that phrasing. Wonder why that is? lol
  23. Gotta love NuRidge hanging up on Katie mid-sentence after his brief explanation of his plans to break up Brooke's wedding. That pretty much sums things up for them, no? lol Good lord i can't stand this guy. I do love Katie pointing out how ridiculous it is to fly over there as opposed to just calling or sending a message. He had no real retort to that. Figures. I love the deep discussions Wyatt and Quinn have been having about her feelings and motivations. Even her rationale for not teaching him about right and wrong and his calling out all of the horrible things she's done since she's been on the show. I think she's batshit insane but I do get her and I feel like they are building to something with these conversations and thats kind of intriguing. I actually trust that the writers are leading this somewhere. Scary.
  24. I think Quinn has a valid reason for freaking out about Liam when it comes to her company's relationship with Forrester. Liam has tried twice (if I remember correctly) to get Hope to fire Wyatt and his mother. And we all know how Eric blows whichever way the wind blows. I'm wondering if the disconnect in how these scenes are playing is due to Quinn not reminding us that Liam did that. Hope pretty much does what Liam (or any boyfriend) wants when he gets demanding. If he wants her to fire Quinn it just may happen. Wondering if she's not outright stating that as her motive for a specific reason.
  25. Thorne and Taylor???!!! lol Ally is going to have to kill the both of them. lol Honestly didn't see that one coming. Kudos, show!
