Which is no doubt one of the many reasons that you've successfully navigated through 52+ years of marriage together. Congratulations, and may you have many more years ahead of you! :) Reading about your "discussions" over directions made me laugh. Being happily married for 36 years means we're doing something right, but getting a GPS didn't quite solve the directions problem since my husband never listens to our GPS either! Which then leads to the off repeated "discussion" of WHY have a GPS if you're not going to listen to it?

Glad to find this topic here. I just finished this episode and realized I've been using Shazam for more songs in this series than any other right now. Usually I find swearing in songs annoying if it goes on too much, but not here. And I never heard of Irma Thomas but they used two of her songs this episode. And I like the little girl making appropriate playlists for her family.

This is for all of you who post over hered on the NYC HWs: I usually read recaps but rarely check the forum comments, but I wanted to let you know how much I appreciate reading your comments -- which are witty and often insightful. Over on IMDB message boards I've gotten so tired of the really ridiculous, over-the-top postings. Today when I read one that said Carole was vile for exploiting her dead husband for a story line I lost it. So I just wanted to let you know I find the manner of discourse much more adult over here. Thanks.

I haven't read all the posts here because I'm an episode behind, but I think there were a number of reasons Hannah left Iowa: missing her friends, no communication with her BF, not thick skinned enough to take the critiques (and BS) of the other writers. Yes, she's self absorbed, but I don't think that necessarily means she's a bad (or even lazy) writer. Writing is hard. A lot of writers will do anything to avoid it until they absolutely have to finish. Maybe because of a deadline.
