  1. I would prefer for them to keep the panel as it is, even if Josh Dallas is there too. Not because I don't like them, but because of how I imagine the questions will change when it's both of them there. I'd prefer some focus on Snow as an individual character, we haven't had that in ages. There's this tendency to see her and Charming as one person that's even "worse" when both actors attend publicity events and obviously get paired up for interviews.
  2. I'm always a lot more interested in the women on this show too. I don't mind a little bit of Charming here and there and I think the same would be true for Robin for me if not for that complete disaster of a story with Zelena they've trapped him with. Minimal Rumple and Hook and that dreadful Zelena part of Robin's story while Snow, Belle and Regina do the heavy lifting in dealing with and trying to help Dark Swan would be perfectly fine with me.
  3. I didn't really follow any of this "Ethan" drama and based on what little I have seen on my dash I don't have any intentions to change that, but I very much agree that this BadAppleHQ and the behavior of the person behind it (I think she has at least 2 Twitter accounts?) is extremely problematic. I first came across that blog when they were insisting that someone in fandom is actually a gay man and not a straight guy as he supposedly told them. They were somehow trying to prove a point with that and trying to collect evidence of this person being gay. The same routine of IP tracking and what can only be described as cyber-stalking begun and resulted in several posts on Twitter and that blog about assumed "proof" for their theory about this guy and his sexuality. It was quite disturbing to be honest and I couldn't believe how this person convinced herself that what she was doing was a form of self-defense and totally okay.
  4. That's what I'm thinking. They'll likely all ditch their SB clothes for something more FTL appropriate in the second episode. In one of the SDCC interviews Sean Maguire mentioned having seen some of the Camelot costume designs and, while he didn't specifically mention a new Robin Hood costume, I imagine you don't just randomly meet up with Eduardo Castro for no real reason while he's busy working on the first sets of costumes for s5.
  5. I think, apart from the fact that they're obviously working and have better things to do, this is exactly the problem to be honest. He doesn't seem to understand that if he's there he's not exactly helping other fans who would like to meet the cast. He's there pretty much everytime they film on location, this summer he went to at last three conventions with OUAT actors in attendance in both Europe and the US... I don't blame any of the actors if they don't want to deal with him every single time, especially since many must be very well aware of what he's saying about them on his Twitter whenever they fail to meet his expectations for whatever reason.
  6. I don't know if it's rooted in jealousy or something else, but there does seem to be a sense of threat they get from off camera friendships. I've seen various attempts to deny that these actresses may have genuine friendships with their co stars. It's all just promotion for their stories on the show, the men are only using the actresses and their popularity, etc, etc. It's very weird and uncomfortable because what it essentially comes down to is fans not drawing a clear line between fiction and reality. The Lana and Sean thing that's been sort of confirmed by that meet and greet story has been very obvious for a while since you do see them attending cons together or doing stuff together outside of the show, you have pap pics and photos of them taking selfies or pictures of each other, but they rather post half a dozen of their selfies with other co stars on their Twitters than the ones they took with each other. I get it to some degree. We often think they don't see much of the fandom hate because of the sheer number of tweets these actors receive every single day, but apparently that's not the case or maybe and understandably a few very nasty tweets they do see have a bigger effect on them. I get not wanting to experience that over and over again and I also get wanting to sort of protect your co stars from it. Like with what Parrilla apparently said about how Maguire ends up on the receiving end of the abuse a lot if they do share something and in the case of CS vs. SQ it's likely mostly Morrison since Colin rarely tweets or responds to hate and drama at all. But at the same time the thought of a group of bullies getting their way and getting the actors to restrict themselves like that doesn't sit well with me. It's just plain absurd to be honest that a show/cast/crew would allow itself to be bullied by one single fraction of their fanbase like that. Maybe I don't watch enough tv shows with 'passionate' shipper followings, but I don't think I have ever experienced anything like what's happening with OUAT before.
  7. If that's the signing organized by that Aries agency that represents many of the OUAT actors at conventions, I remember reading an update from them on Twitter that Sean Maguire won't be part of that after all because he'd first be filming in Vancouver and then doing his 'official' appearance with the OUAT peeps on Saturday.
  8. That's what I'm expecting. Even if there's a time jump at some point early in 5A, I don't see them rushing through Zelena's pregnancy. The pregnancy is actually the perfect excuse to keep that for 5B because there's likely not much to do with that terrible baby story until Zelena's approaching birth anyway. So they can mostly keep her locked up in the asylum and let Regina and Robin deal with other things during 5A and then focus on Zelena in 5B. And I know many here are no fans of her to put it mildly, which I can respect even if I don't necessarily feel the same way, but keeping Regina on the very sidelines or even mostly out of the 5A story makes zero sense to me. And not only because, as long as we don't know what's going on with Rumple with his now no longer black heart, she's the only capable magic user left in that town who's not under the influence the darkness. Sure, they'll bring in Merlin at some point, but they probably won't find him and get him to help them within the first few episodes either.
  9. The uproar that eventually led to changes to the schedule didn't start until they had confirmation that Morrison and Parrilla would both be attending that convention without doing a single thing together. Now, I'm not saying they should be obligated to do that and I'm sure there are multiple very good reasons why things were scheduled that way. But my point is: I don't think the situations are all that comparable. You'll always have the bitter, hate-filled drama queens who grow petty whenever they don't get their way and some of the stuff that's been said by the extremists in the SQ fandom about the upcoming Rio convention made me feel uneasy already, especially for the two men. But I'm not buying for a second that the situation would have been any different from the Paris one if Morrison would be attending that one too and the con or the teams organizing these things for the actresses would only pair them up with the actors playing their respective male love interests while they're at the same event.
  10. I can't imagine how ABC would be able to influence what happens or doesn't happen at a small con that's by no means an official promotional event. SDCC for example is an entirely different matter, of course, But we're talking a small, European based convention. Many genre actors who are into cons appear at half a dozen or more small scale conventions throughout the year and the networks would be extremely busy if they tried to keep track of every castmember's personal con schedule and every photo op they may participate in. I don't see that happening for practical reasons alone.
  11. Going by what I have seen, this is not true. I couldn't stomach much of what happened on Twitter yesterday, but most of those who persistently complained about not getting their "Swan Queen" duo photo option @ tagged both actresses and Lana Parrilla has been at the receiving end of hate and blame from a few CS bad apples repeatedly ever since Jennifer pulled out of the other duo photo ops because apparently that's somehow Parrilla's fault too now? The idea that Lana Parrilla has more power over the SQ bad apples than others is also a little naive, if I may say so. Those crazies are wildly out of control and nothing anyone could say at this point is going to affect them anymore. The worst of them regularly switch back and forth between supporting Morrison and blaming Parrilla and then blaming Morrison and supporting Parrilla and back again and they see absolutely nothing wrong in their bipolar social media behavior. (There's this Larry Andreutti guy, a local set pap and wanna-be OUAT set "tour guide", who has been pandering to the SQ fans repeatedly and is also infamous for going back and forth between both actresses like that, depending which one of them comes out for photots and autographs more when OUAT is filming on location. He has apaprently been pushing the idea that Morrison was to blame for there not being a "Swan Queen" duo photo op at that con. Why anyone would actually listen to him is beyond me, though, since he knows as much about these things as any other random fan on the internet.) What both actresses shouldn't do anymore, imo, but continue to do is to try and placate them. But that's where everyone involved with the show went wrong pretty much from the start and that's why the situation is so completely out of everyone's control now. Cast and writers all added to making them feel entitled and important and now no one seems to have the guts to change course. Instead they all keep making sure the bullies get their way. Very disappointing.
  12. I don't know, considering how they played this, with Emma specifically taking Regina's place as the person targeted by the evil smoke monster 2.0 thing, I don't doubt they're going to have Regina play a major role in wanting to save Emma next season. But yes, I'd guess they're upset every bit of interaction R & E had in the finale ultimately came down to talk about characters and relationships they hate. I just don't understand what they expect anymore. Whether one likes them or not, these relationships are canon and they're not going anywhere. I saw some tweet Adam how much they want him to say once and for all SQ is not happening and they have no interest in queer representation to put them out of their misery so they can stop watching. Apart from the pretty offensive thought that SQ equals all interest in queer representation, I'm honestly confused because it feels like groundhog day and they keep saying these things every season. The writers told them it's not happening, but the show itself tells them it's not happening too. But I think some still believe(d) they could bully the writers into pandering to them. Complain loud enough, try to get actors fired because you think the characters they play stand in the way your ship long enough, and you'll get your way. I have a lot of issues with the writers on this show, but I'm glad they're not validating that sort of mindset at least.
  13. He was joking around from what I understand. He does something similar with one of the guys from Supernatural, trolls him on Twitter like that. Apparently the Shat is quite into Lana Parrilla/Regina as far as OUAT is concerned and keeps saying he wants Robin out of the way because he ships himself with her, that kind of stuff. And Sean Maguire played along a few times and then made it clear to his followers too that it's all in good fun and no one has to defend him/Robin to Shatner because of it. Some of the SQ shippers apparently didn't get it though and had convinced themselves Shatner honest to God hates Maguire and everything he does, making him their 'ally'. Which means they now feel terribly betrayed by him when he calls them out on some of their behavior. One of the most amusing things I read today was some kind of conspiracy theory that either Horowitz&Kitsis/ABC or Maguire are now paying Shatner to make them look bad on Twitter.
  14. I get that many users on this board are heavily invested in CS as a pairing and everything that's said about them, but as someone who doesn't ship much of anything on this show I find buzz words like kindred spirits, soulmates, etc. hardly unique to any one of the various pairings on this show and how actors or writers talk about them. I'm sure they all consider or would at least like to sell their respective stories as something epic to the audience and look at the romantic relationships as pairings of characters who are connected deeply based on their respective pasts and approaches to life and love - and there's only so many ways you can express that. I'm not bothered by it. But, like I said, then again I'm not overly invested in any of these pairings. Sean Maguire sounds like a nice guy. The little story about their small cast Easter dinner was nice to read, this cast does seem to be fairly close overall.
  15. That was my impression too. Granted, on Twitter I'm not dabbling in fandom all that much, but from what I have seen the OQ community did what the SQ community flat out refuses to do: They called the fans who couldn't seperate Christie from the character she plays (and the role said character played in creating a roadblock for the canon OQ pairing, thanks to eyeroll worthy writing) out on their crap and asked them to knock it off. The vocal parts of the SQ community on Twitter on the other hand are very busy figuring out how to present themselves as misunderstood and mistreated. After not few of them have been very creative in finding new ways to target and harrass a member of this show's cast because the character he plays is, in their perception, standing in the way of their ship. I can't take anyone serious who still thinks they have a right to play the victim and who continues to defend shipmates when they "joke" about violently attacking or murdering a real person, an actor, because he's a "threat" to their fanon ship. When William Shatner has to point out just how far gone you really are if you think you have some kind of basic right to act like a complete jerk on the internet, while addressing real people, because of a fictional ship, you've crossed more than a few lines and should probably take a step back and reconsider your priorities. But everyone who expects them to act like decent human beings is likely homophobic too. *fandomlogic*
  16. I couldn't stand the Frozen arc either, regardless of how I feel about Regina. I did actually see the animated movie and liked it too, but because it's still so recent I didn't see the point of bringing it over to OUAT as well to begin with and it definitely took up way, way too much space on the show and pushed too many characters I care about more than a of bunch new guest stars who would only be around for 11 episodes tops to the sidelines. I found Anna slightly more tolerable than Elsa, but overall I was just glad when the lot of them finally left. And on top of that I found their take on the Snow Queen disastrous, too.
  17. This is what I thought for a long time. Like someone already mentioned, Nimerfro was originally on the Hannibal staff and that show has a large following based on a queer fanon couple involving two main characters too. Maybe they thought he would be more adept at handling the SQ part of the OUAT fandom or the SQ fans would take to him more easily because of said Hannibal connection and how that show has (originally, I admittedly didn't follow fandom past s1) embraced fanon shipping. However, if this is indeed a strategy of theirs it has gone way too far. Nimerfro either doesn't understand or doesn't care that he is actively encouraging the worst part of the SQ fandom and the toxic atmosphere that has developed around the show's social media representation. I don't understand why it is so hard for these writers to stop giving people who have admitted to stalking actors they claim to hate on the net 24/7 any attention. I'm sure there are saner fans among SQ, but Nimerfro and Horowitz insist on making the worst of them entitled and justified in their behaviour. They sure aren't making social media life any easier for their actors either.
  18. To be honest, going by what I have seen of this particular group of "bad apples" or whatever one might want to call them, I think they are long past the point where anyone from the show trying to call them out on their behavior would still have any real, lasting effect. These same people are quick to turn on Parrilla when she dares to interact with Maguire or supports her canon story and then, for a while, focus on Morrison and act like she is the one they truly care about and consider their fav. Until she does something that pisses them off too and then they switch back to Team Parrilla... it's a rinse and repeat process. And it applies to the writers too. Right now they think of Scott Nimerfro as their "ally" in the writer's room, a while back it used to be Jane Espenson. The writers and actors should just block or at least ignore them on Twitter. That's the best strategy I can think of. It's always the same names involved in these things. Some might be so obsessed that they have or are willing to create multiple accounts. But in general I think blocking some of the "big" names that are well-known to anyone who keeps up with all things OUAT on Twitter would be a good start. As long as some of the writers (Horowitz in particular) and actors keep engaging them, keep giving them attention every single time they try to start new drama? They'll continue.
