Kelso has Betsy with his ex Brooke. He left for Chicago to be closer to his daughter.

Jay belongs to Kelso and Jackie.

I really wasn't paying attention. I missed any mention of the daughter moving to Chicago. I thought Kelso got a job out there and that was the reason he moved.

  2. I wasn't paying that much attention to the last seasons of the first series. Kelso had a kid with someone he had a fling with. Is that kid supposed to be Jay or are Jay's parents Kelso and Jackie? After that, Kelso moved off to Chicago which disappointed me because he left the kid behind.

  3. I like the show. I like the characters. However, even after several episodes, I still see Meg Donnelly as a miscast. Her playing Mary doesn't work for me.

The end with the DJ made me think that this is like watching a live action episode of Scooby Do Mystery Incorporated.

  4. I had to rewind the first scene when the couple was sitting in the bar. A guy walked by and from the back he looked like a young Sam.  At least his hair did.

I was confused about the images. Al could see the person Sam leaped into. In one of the episodes where Sam was a woman, he drove Al crazy with how hot she was. So they updated things so everyone looks like they're supposed to to the holograms?

  5. This show is a train wreck, but I can't look away. Even though I dislike almost everyone in it and the terrible star-crossed lovers trying to reunite story. This was a very boring episode. Nobody was that concerned about the one girl being kidnapped. In the westerns I used to watch, these victims were usually raped. Good thing for TV 14 ratings. The evil dude in the cage could have shot some people. He shot the sheriff in cold blood and nobody seemed that concerned either. At the end the bad guy suddenly goes soft and gives up. This was not a well written story. The old series mostly centered around two main characters and we got reports about the other side from Al. Now we're dealing with extraneous, unimportant characters - especially Addison - who just drag the whole show down.

  6. A lot of times you have to throw the pilot out - like the first pancake. This wasn't terrible. I have nothing against the actors, but I found the two leads to be miscasts. After they all got into the van, I felt like I was watching an episode of Scooby Doo. I actually wondered where the dog was.

I didn't have any issues with the rest of the cast. Just the two leads. I thought Meg was pretty good on American Housewife, but she isn't working in this role. I've never seen the person who plays John in anything before.

The story was okay. I wasn't expecting a great pilot like the Supernatural pilot. Even with low expectations, this kind of fell flat. I will give it a few episodes to see if I can deal with the leads.

  7. After seeing this episode, I would rather see Magic as the hologram.  Ernie Hudson has done some comedic work. We would probably get more insight into what goes on with the leap-ee. He would be more of an authority figure who wouldn't have to get second hand information from Addison. We can dump the boring romantic entanglement with Addison. I can't believe the producers made the same mistake again. Sam should not have had any sort of significant other, neither should Ben. Other than that, I don't like any other the other characters. They should get rid of everybody and keep the new leap guy and Ernie Hudson as the main cast. Just bring on guest actors like they did in the original series.

Otherwise, this episode was pretty good. I really didn't see the woman as a cold-blooded killer coming.

Didn't Janice say that Ben came to her, not the other way around? Ben is the genius scientist behind the revitalized project. He wasn't supposed to be the Leaper. But in doing his calculations, he discovered something catastrophic happened/will happen at the focal point if he doesn't intervene. Maybe Sam does something that will stop the original project from even happening, which means Beth never waits for Al and Ben never meets Addison.

I'm okay with Ben never meeting Addison. She's a mopey drag and she brings everything down. There are people in my life I wish I had never met. I would take that opportunity to never meet them - if it was a real thing.

I'm okay with the new leaper and Magic. I would change out the entire rest of the cast for more interesting people. The cast is generic and boring. Not likeable, bland, badly written characters.

Bringing Sam home would change the ending of the original series, so I don't like the idea of it. Which brings up the question, is Sam still leaping? Wouldn't there be people in the waiting room all the time? If the project was shut down, where do those people go?  Since Sam never returned home, does he get a respite once in a while where he doesn't have to fix the past all of the time? Does he get a break or a vacation?

Who would Sam return home to now? Donna the forgotten wife, the writers shouldn't have given him, has probably moved on by now. One would hope. Al is gone. Maybe his brother and sister are around, but it might be a bit of shock if he suddenly turned up again after 40 years.

I'm not really interested in the intrigue of the new show. I liked the stories of the original. It all centered around Sam and his story. We got the behind the scenes story via Al telling Sam what was going on back at the project. All these extraneous characters seem unnecessary. Ben needs a hologram who has a sense of humor. Not a depressed woman.

Currently listening to them review  1.4 Dead Man Dating. How great is John Cho. Loving hearing him talk about the technical parts of film making.

I watched Charmed in its original run. I didn't know who Jon Cho was at the time this episode aired. Several years later, he became very recognizable, and his career was taking off. I think I became aware of him because he played Sulu in the Star Trek movie.  I was doing a rewatch of Charmed and saw Dead Man Dating and went - that's Jon Cho.  I think they call this "retro recognition". I have also done this with Mark Pellegrino. After Supernatural, I recognized him in all the old series I watched before I knew who he was.

  10. My thoughts about the original - before I saw the new pilot - I often wondered if they regretted giving Sam a wife.  I have only gone through the series a couple of times. When it first aired and when it was on Netflix, years ago. Netflix had missing episodes - the final episode was one of several missing from Netflix. I think Sam's wife appeared in the first season and then just kind of faded away.  In season one, one of the episodes was Sam bedding some woman for two weeks while they were waiting for something. I assumed the producers wouldn't make the same mistake of giving the new guy a wife. This could get awkward. Maybe she could talk to Sam's wife about how she dealt with all the bed leaping.

This was bad. It had no charm. New wife is bland. Generic cast. New leaper is fine, but I think a lot of the appeal was the rapport between Sam and Al and how devastatingly handsome Scott Bakula was.

Charles sent Zazz to break up with Jan for him. He knew he wouldn't be able to do it himself so he sent his standin to break things off with her.

I'm wondering if we'll see Jan and Zazz as a couple next season.  That would be kind of hilarious.

Oh yeah. I forgot all about that.  I meant to watch the season again before the final, but I didn't have the time.

  12. I was happy to see that, a year later, Charles was still with the make-up lady. I loved Andrea Martin on SCTV. I would be nice to see her get more screen time.

I think they have dropped some things this season. Charles was talking to the prison lady, then suddenly he wasn't. I was glad Amy Schumer was only in the one episode - or was it two? Anyway, I thought she would make one more appearance. I'm glad she didn't.

I also didn't get why Poppy killed Bunny.

  13. I went through the first two seasons a couple of times. I had no idea who Lisella was at first. I had to wait for the show to give me some clues. Then I went okay it was the social media episode. Not sure why they chose her to come back.

After all the discussions that Kelly and Lisella had about finding a purpose. I fully expected Lisella to go back to her planet to try and help the people there. I knew she going to steal something, but I thought she would still go back without it and try to help her people anyway. If the show continues, I don't want her as a new cast member. They didn't need the one who, oddly enough, was not mentioned in this episode. The crew actually seemed downright jolly - like a heavy wet blanket had been lifted off of them. Having too many useless cast members takes away from the original cast members. She just isn't needed. I found her a forgettable character. It took a while for me to figure out who she was.  I didn't find that episode as one of the better ones. It was just Seth predicting the future of social media.

I really enjoyed this episode. It was good that everything they did made me think that something was going to happen. When Bortus was chasing Klydon through the woods, it seemed like a good place for some misfortune to happen, or when the Kaylons all came to wedding only leaving a small contingency on their planet.  Then all of the ships suddenly showing up. The interesting thing about this episode was that nothing happened. There were no outside forces. The only real threat was Clare when she went off on John. That was so awesome.

I loved the wedding uniforms and Isaac's tuxedo. I had to wonder, if the show continued, if we would see Isaac wearing a wedding band.

This was a nice episode that seemed to have more of the elements of the first two seasons. Most of this season was kind of humorless and it was nice to see a lighter episode.

Quick rundown of what I don't like about Charly and presumably others don't either:

    1. Charly has been written as largely a one-note or two-note character, rather than as a full-fledged human.

    2. It isn't a particularly interesting note. Just being bitter at Isaac/the Kaylon over what they did can and did get tiring.

    3. Even within the one-note of being bitter about the Kaylon, it was written poorly. She wasn't so much upset about the fact that thousands were killed, or that the Kaylon represented an existential threat to all biological beings or any number of other things, but it got mostly reduced to her not being able to tell her bestie/girlfriend she loved her. So if the escape pod had functioned properly and Amanda would have been able to flee with her, that would deflate things dramatically?

    4. Even within the one-note writing for Charly, the Charly actress for most of her scenes was pretty bad. To her credit, her farewell line was delivered well. But most everything else was at best average and bland.

    5. The notion of her ability to engage in "fourth-dimensional thinking" was never explained and basically was a handwave to give her near magical abilities. I am loathe to use the term Mary Sue because its use is often pretty sexist. But the notion of a newcomer who is better at most things than the rest of the crew fits here.

    6. Even if the writing and the acting for Charly had been the best version of each for her character, her presence meant taking up time from the characters that we have known and loved. I would not be surprised if she had gotten more air time than John and Talla, when the airtime for such a character should IMO have been more on the level of supporting characters like Marcus/Ty/Klyden.

    7. The fact that she was raised to a high level of prominence and that she has been dating Seth MacFarlane are not unrelated, and that seems icky.

They made a lot of mistakes with the character.  Aside from being Seth's girlfriend and being shoehorned into a show where she wasn't needed.

-In her very first scene they made her unlikeable. She sat there and bitched out Isaac. So already she is written in a negative light.

-Continuing on to the next episodes, she is angry and demanding. Every time Isaac showed up - like in the western - she was a freaking wet blanket.

-Every time she turned around on the bridge it was that same "you're so stupid" stare.

-She was special like Mozart and Wesley Crusher. She could do magical 4th dimensional things.

-We all cheered when Adric died too.

I admit I liked this episode. I liked all the space fighting scenes. I kept waiting for a Star Wars reference.  I questioned sending the only two people who could operate the weapon to the weapon. I was expecting "Operate the weapon or Kelly dies" for example.

I hope the sandwich shows up next week. It might be a fun surprise.

I haven't heard if this show is renewed, but if next week is the season finale, they are probably going to have some story on Ed's daughter. I think arresting an elected Krill leader would cause some retaliation and some sort of escape attempt or trade to get her back.

After Charly blew up, I said "This episode had a happy ending".   Unfortunately, TV has a way of bringing dead people back.  They always bring back characters I couldn't stand.  I spent seasons waiting for characters to get killed off. They get killed off and then the killing off is ruined because they get brought back. Just die already and stay dead.

  15. I unfollowed the Orville. I usually keep current on episodes and watch them when they are released. I was a couple of days late this time around and their tweets spoiled the Dolly Parton reveal.  Now I wonder if I would have figured it out or if it would have been a surprise. I'm leaning toward surprise.

I didn't recognize the song at first but then I realized the women were dancing to 'Joline'. Interesting interpretation of the music.

Topa was an outsider. She should not have been approached with this task. Whenever someone says "Don't tell your parents", that's exactly the time to go tell your parents. Heveena should not have said anything to her.  I also think the Moclans figured it out way too fast. They already were suspicious that Heveena told her who the contact was. I was already sure the Moclans were going to take her, but I didn't know the reason.

I like Bortus and Kelly, but not Bortus with Kelly.  I didn't see the chemistry. I've never seen any chemistry other than a friendship.

  16. Who took the DNA test? Will or Will's son? I'm a little confused on this point. If it was the son and not Will, maybe Will's wife has some splaining to do.  Although the shot did set it up as Oliver realizing that something was going on between Teddy and his wife.

I'm not happy about this side bit with Charles and the woman who tried to kill him. What good is sending someone to prison if we can't get them off the show? I was hoping that Alice is the killer so we can get rid of her, but apparently going to prison doesn't mean TV termination. I hope Alice is around for only one season.

I really liked this episode. I like seeing them exploring the tunnels of the building. Oliver being the game master was fun.  His wig was awful, but still kind of amusing.

  17. I was glad to see the backstory on the Kaylons.  I understood the part where it was stated that the servant Kaylons could communicate with each other. However, I assume they were not built with weaponry so that they could kill their owners.  That part didn't make sense to me.  I find it hard to believe that they were doing upgrades like that while the humans weren't around.

After watching those two kids torture the servant, I wasn't unhappy to see them dead.

I didn't want Isaac to get the upgrade. However, he did get to express his feelings to Claire before he went back to his old self.  It was kind of amazing watching his expressions change.  It reminds me of a character actor named Fred Kohler. Fred was in an episode of  'The Mentalist". In one scene you see him change his expression from a scared, mentally challenged individual to a stone-cold guy who realized the jig is up.  It was amazing to watch.  You don't see that very often.

I knew the lying was going to be a mistake.

I don't know why one ensign would get to sit in on the officers' meetings.  Seth. Stop casting your girlfriends in your shows.  At least find one with better acting skills.

  18. I don't know anything about Selena Gomez except that I think she used to be a singer and was with Justin Bieber. I think there might have been something with Disney as well.  I have never had anything against her. I've never seen her act or heard her music.  I think she's fine in this role. I don't have a problem with her.

I heard grumblings on facebook that the actor of Klyden was let go due to him gaining weight. Anyone know if this is true??

I haven't heard any rumors, but it would be realistic and make sense if Klyden gained weight. He is very uptight and would likely stress-eat.

I never thought the marriage was solid, however when Klyden and Bortus got along, they were hilarious. The time they got addicted to cigarettes, the time they went dancing. Those scenes were great. Honestly, I didn't think they would break up this way. I got the impression that Bortus sort of had an attraction to one of the female Moclans he encountered on the planet. I always thought the marriage would break up over Bortus wanting to be with a female.

I didn't like the way everything was rushed. Topa found out she was originally a girl. She was mad because she couldn't have the surgery right now. Like RIGHT NOW!  She was a demanding whiney brat about it.  I didn't like the way they disregarded Klyden's feelings.  It was "You're wrong", we're doing it anyway. Topa and Bortus disregarded him.  After raising her and being a stay-in-cabin "dad", they both like don't let the door hit you on the way out. That was pretty sad. Although the "I wish you were never born" was pretty harsh.  I can see why Klyden was so angry. She was his child too.

I don't know why they couldn't wait till they got back to some planet where they could do the surgery off ship. I think Topa would have held off on the suicide if she knew it could be scheduled in the near future.

I read a lot of the posts here and I can see I am the detractor who hated this episode. I thought it was poorly done on a touchy subject. To me it was a reflection of teenagers being rushed into transitional surgery without much thought and minimal counseling.  We all know that Topa was born a girl and had been reassigned.  There was no discussion or therapy.  They didn't even give Klyden a chance to come around.  It was just ef you. We are going to do it anyway. Undercover. In secret.

This really was a terrible episode.

  20. Amy Schumer was a big disappointment. Sting moved out. They should have hired someone more on par with Sting.

I didn't think this show was coming back until the fall, but I was glad to see it. I wasn't sure I could stay awake for it, but somehow, I managed.

I assume the art lady is going to be a gay thing.  She was giving off that vibe.

I wonder if Sting's apartment is going to be a running gag with someone new moving in every season.

For me Charly is Ashley Seaver Criminal Minds thing all over again.    A lot of the problem isn’t really the actress’s fault.  It’s bad writing, bad timing and weird nepotism getting on fans nerves.    Is Charly really a bad character or do we all just perceive her as a bad character because Charly’s attitude about Isaac who is a fan favorite and the actresses’s relationship with Seth makes it aggravating that Charly gets scenes that make sense she gets.    There is no reason why she wouldn’t pilot a ship to Krill.  She is bridge crew.    Plus having a new member who wasn’t there for season  1 and 2 is a good someone who the characters could use to explain things.

Their first mistake was her introduction as a new cast member. She immediately started bitching at Isaac and she hasn't let up since.  She can't deliver a convincing line of script. I did not know she was Seth's girlfriend.  I made a guess that she was.  New hateable, bitchy cast member who can't act gets a seat on the bridge.  Seth has a history of dating his cast members, so I looked it up.
