  1. Definitely. But Elijah will get the last laugh because you know Klaus is gonna go simply batty when he sees Elijah bonding with Marcel. I can imagine the whole gang having all their meetups at Marcel's now and Klaus alone in his mansion trying to drown out the sound of hot hybrid sex and wondering where the devil everyone is. As much as I HATE the baby storyline and "snowflake" babies in general, I have to admit baby Hope is all kinds of adorable. Her laugh made my grinch heart grow at least 1 size bigger. And as much as I bemoan that a show called The Originals has lost focus on it's main cast and has slowly(not slowly) turned into The Hayley Diaries, I do love the addition of Freya. That she is essentially trying to save her own ass just makes her that much more likeable. I'd really like to see her throw anyone and everyone under the bus REPEATEDLY. Sad abou Kol, but if this is the price of more Marcel and less Davina (I know I'm dreaming) then I'm ok with it. I'm sure he'll be back eventually. Hayley said a lot of things this episode, some which I don't think the character quite earned. Not that it matters I guess. Her thing with Jackson is just a block in the road for her and Elijah and now that the cement is dry ("I'll never be able to make you happy", "You'll always put your family before your feelings for me") , Jackson's days are numbered. My guess is he dies heroically trying to defend Haley/Hope from Dahlia, by the end of the season. So hypothetically, if they (J&H) were to get divorced would the wolves lose their new found abilities?
  2. From your mouth to Narducci's ears, please. I am also hoping that Freya hopped a ride over to Baby Hideout Central and was both the one who healed Hope, and stopped the car. With all we've seen witches do over the past one and half seasons, invisibility wouldn't be much of a stretch. Of course I was also hoping that the baby would turn out to be Tyler's and Klaus would kick it, and the "trash bag" out, and off the show. And baring that development, that Klaus would constantly and consistently treat Haley with the proper amount of disdain and disinterest, that an extremely brief jump off deserves (baby mama or no). So I'm 0 for 2 in the hopes department.
  3. Just when I thought the baby subplot couldn't annoy me more. Special snowflake babies are the worst. They can't lift the hex, but they can lift the "can't jump" part of the spell right? My guess is they draw out his death for a few episodes. And he comes back in NB's body at the end of the season or next season with OG Rebekah. I doubt Finn is gone for good, just yet. I'm hoping that it was Freya who stopped the car and pulled Finn out of the house in time though I'm sure special snowflake baby is actually the culprit :( Is it just me, or is Haley's accent regressing? I HATE everything about the werewolf wedding storyline. Everything!!
  4. I don't see this. I think he saw that she was wavering a bit because of "the secret" and her thing with Elijah, but knew that she would ultimately still go through with it and he wanted to manipulate her into FORCEFULLY taking a stand. As in "If you're gonna do this, and put everything on the line for Jackson and this pack you better BE DAMN SURE, you need to be willing to FIGHT for him/them." The more Haley cares about the pack the better for Klaus, because he ultimately wants control of the pack for himself. Plus now he doesn't have to watch over Jackson because who better to keep an eye on him than the person who vouched for his trustworthiness. Their wedding allows Klaus to play puppet master with the pack and let Haley and Jackson think they're running the show. The minute Jackson steps out of line, Klaus will just try to kill him. That doesn't mean that Haley and Jackson both didn't drop some truth bombs on him during the whole ordeal, but I think it went down exactly as Klaus expected it to.
  5. Yup next week, it's in the preview if you feel like swooning early. :) I was holding out hope that it wouldn't happen, that they'd just stay friends, but it is what is.
  6. This exactly. Stop trying to justify it and just go with it. The more they explain and examine it, the worst it is. Elena has no positive memories of Damon, so how can she be analyzing how she felt when she left Stefan for him. If they want us to accept it or at least stop complaining about it, then just play it straight and leave the past in the past. I wish they had at least tried to make this seem true. Even just one tiny hint that Kai is playing the long con. I wanna believe there is something else going on, but I've yet to see any proof of it.
  7. I'm still not buying it. The activation of the werewolf curse can be looked at from a magical angle, it's a punishment or rite of passage, but it can also be looked at from a biological angle, where in the act of killing certain changes in the body and the brain activate the curse. The moonlight ring, much like the daylight ring is completely magic, it's a way to contain the change. I can accept that. But the ability to shift on call hasn't really been defined other than the fact that you can do it if you're a hybrid. Making it something nebulous like "oh it's just magic" cheapens it IMO, obviously YMMV. It's not a containment spell like with the moonlight ring, it's an inherited ability that comes directly from also being a vampire. Being able to share this ability with a bunch of wolves at a wedding - and don't forget it has to be a real marriage because apparently the hoodoo spiritual force granting this ability can tell if the marriage is just a sham - seems like a huge stretch. Of course there is a chance that, that is the point. That they'll go through with this wedding and nothing will happen. It wouldn't be the first time a well believed legend in the TVD universe turned out to be false.
  8. Super babies are the worst. I also wish the show had had the balls to kill her off right away, it would have been dark, but it would have been a good catalyst for a ton of drama. Sadly I think it's too late. Killing that adorable chubby baby just seems wrong now. She should just be a werewolf, with no other super abilities at all, and instead of her blood creating hybrids I wish it cured them because it still annoys the shit out of me that Haley became one.
  9. Is it just me or is this mystical ability to pass on traits to the werewolf pack at the wedding a wee bit.... completely ridiculous?! First, it's not really a "spell" that gives Hybrids control over the ability to shift. It's being a vampire (which is ridiculous anyway). So how Haley could pass on the trait without turning the pack into hybrids (which would at least make a modicum of sense) is beyond me. Second, I could have accepted if they said that traits are bred into the pack through their children, but you just have to show up at the wedding and bam you get shiny new powers? Thanks for the toaster, please accept your parting gift which is the ability to become insanely more dangerous and powerful. Really?? Third, if the ability to control shifting came from discipline and training and was something Klaus had and was teaching to Haley I could maybe buy her telling her pack that she would pass this knowledge on to them, but yet again TO plays it fast and loose with their own mythology making changes and expanding abilities that weaken the allure, mystique and stature of the Mikaelsons and the supernatural in this world in general. Very disappointing.
  10. So what's the deal with baby Hope? Is she a hybrid? I mean considering her mother is/was a wolf and her father is a hybrid what does this make her? Three quarter wolf to one quarter vampire? Or is she all wolf since Vampires can't procreate. If she's a hybrid shouldn't she not be aging? Since technically vampires are dead. Is she mortal? Will she live out a normal life span and then die? Can she have children of her own? Can Haley? Esther seemed to imply that because she was a hybrid she couldn't have any more children. If she is a hybrid, why would her blood create more hybrids, I thought TVD established only doppelgänger blood could do that.
  11. Oh shit, I forgot. It was Finn getting killed that explained that killing an original would destroy his entire blood line not Kol. My bad.
  12. I laughed for a good five minutes after reading that. I don't think I'll ever be able to look at Haley again without thinking "trash bag". LOL. And yes you're right, I feel the same about the episode in general and especially about Haley. The switch from Tyler/Klaus jump off to hybrid queen is a pretty big stretch and no matter how many times she stands up to Niklaus, or Elijah or whoever I'm still not buying it. Ever since this werewolf story started to emerge as the focus of this season, I've found my love for the show waning a bit. I'm hoping whatever they do with Freya fixes that. And while I see everyone here seems to love Finn, I think they're over doing it. I love the actor, but I preferred him more when he seemed a little less crazy pants and more cold and calculating. He's practically turning into a bond villain and I wish they would ease down a bit.
  13. I knew Freya was looking for family. As soon as I saw the blonde witch at the party and the innocent way she smiled at Rebekah, I knew that she missed them and was looking to connect. Of course it won't be that simple will it, she'll have strong memories of Finn and Henrik and will probably love Elijah (who doesn't) but Niklaus, Kol and even Rebekah could be a problem. Clearly she's woken up because of the birth of Hope, but I'm curious what her endgame will be. Will she be like Dahlia and eventually want to take the child away or will she bond with her family leaving Dahlia to come back as the big bad. I'm glad Jackson and Haley are going through with the wedding, because I want more drama with the Haley/Elijah situation. And as much as miss Claire Holt, this new Rebekah is a perfect stand in, it's not just the accent, she has the personality down pat, so I'll take her till Claire returns. I'm annoyed that Cassie turned traitor though, I liked her, and feel like the witches are not really being serviced well in this show anymore. I was hoping she would get out and take over the Quarter coven. Maybe that's something Dahlia is secretly doing behind the scenes, or Freya will be I guess. Looks like Caleb is the official new Kol, which I know will upset some people, but I like him so I'm not complaining. Finn dies this season, I think we can all agree on that right?. As much as I love the actor, his motivations are starting to wear thin. It's no wonder they called him a bore. Like live your life dude and give up on your moms ridiculous quest. If he was just trying to kill Klaus I'd get it, but this idea of cleansing the world of the Mikaelson scourge is weak sauce. Eat a cookie, watch a sunset, find some peace man. No Camille in this episode!!
  14. I really wish I could get on board with Steroline, because other than a few dodgy moments this season, last and his whole "Klaus revenge grrr" stage, Stefan has consistently been the best. And Caroline I love to death. But it just doesn't work for me. It still feels like a backup parachute that the writers have packed just in case. I'm for add more characters, because I think this show has a serious case of "epic love" that needs to be toned down a bit. Sometimes the next person you fall in love with is just the next person you fall in love with and considering there is a serious potential that these characters could live forever, I think both Stefan and Caroline could benefit from that lesson. I wont scream or throw a fit if they get together, but I probably will pout a bit and grumble under my breath. If I had things my way I'd really like to see a time jump between this season and next so we can see these characters in the next stage of their lives and a little further removed from the "high drama" of high school.
  15. Thinking about it still irks me. Celeste was supposed to be one of two (possibly three) great loves of Elijah's life, and he killed her without batting an eyelash. Don't get me wrong, I love that he can be a cold and calculating killer when he needs to be. But their reunion could have been a lot more dramatic. Celeste figured out a way to come back from the dead, and instead of seeking out her lover she plotted her murderer's/his brother's downfall. There is so much story there, what she's been doing, how she survived, wether or not she looked for Elijah, etc etc. Plus it would have put a nicely placed wedge between him and Haley. Ahhh the possibilities... They introduced Ansel too early, or at least told us his real identity too early. I think you're right, there was story to mine there, and they blew it. I believe Haley is an alpha because she is the last of the crescent pack. Jackson's pack is descended from Klaus' pack aren't they, so technically Klaus could claim the title of alpha of that pack if he wanted to. He'd just have to challenge Jackson, and then I guess he could marry Haley himself (oh god, I hope that doesn't happen...). I liked that too, but at the same time I'm glad he's over it and is comfortable teasing Haley about her relationship with Elijah because they literally had a one night stand and I've got enough brothers in love with same woman drama to deal with on TVD.
  16. Yes, that's kinda what I mean. It's not the real redemption for Klaus that Elijah is seeking because it's not like Klaus is changing or modifying his behaviour, he's just now got this pink wrapped adorable excuse to do whatever the hell he wants. I actually liked that he killed Ansel, because it annoyed me that they introduced him in the first place. They've already run through about 100 plots in the 1 1/2 seasons this show has existed and done very few of them any justice. I'm still pissed about how the Celeste story line went down.
  17. Interesting. So you think they are going to age Hope on the show? Some how I don't think so, I think (hope) they intend to keep her as this beacon of light and redemption for the Mikaelsons and growing her into a tempestuous teenager would alter that too much. Besides we already have one of those in Davina. However I've been kinda hoping that TVD would do a time jump between this season and next and if they do perhaps The Originals will as well. I have to say as much as I hate the baby plot I'd hate the daddy/ angry daughter plot even more so. If they grow her up, magically, time jumpy or otherwise I'm out. They need to drop her off with a nice family in the mid west a la X-files and be done with it. Bonus points if they send Haley with her.
  18. Maybe you're right. To me it feels like Plec has been attempting to dissuade any tiny hope that while Elena and Damon are in bliss right now, that Elena and Stefan are endgame. By finding a new "true love" for Stefan it finishes closing the door on Stelena. The slow gravitation between Stefan and Caroline, is her way of showing us "it's real". They didn't just rebound into each other, they found each other through a deep connected friendship. Bleh. I think it's difficult to start to introduce new characters to fill the "epic love" slots for your leads when you're in the dwindling years of your series, but I don't think that's enough of a reason to create their relationship. Plus bring on new characters!! Both Stefan and Caroline deserve character definition outside who they are banging. I mean I know it's the CW, so love and drama is paramount but there must be something else of interest that at 150 year old vampire and 4 year old vampire can get into. I prefer their relationship was more like his and Lexi's. I want to see Stefan realize that his friendship with Caroline is enough for him to not feel like his most recent stay in MF was a waste because of Elena.
  19. Giving a character more dimension isn't a bad thing. The more well rounded a character is the better. The fact that Elena and Damon have become so one note over the last few seasons is part of the reason they've become so boring and predictable. I don't want Kai becoming just one of the gang either though, and I also delight in his evil smack talking ways. But I don't think it has to be one or the other. I'd like to think that there is a way to keep him menacing and hilarious and not turn him into Enzo (aka lame, useless, underwhelming). I'd love to see him team up with Bonnie and together become the BIG BAD's of next season.
  20. It's funny I was watching a couple of old episodes of TVD this weekend, I was never a regular watcher, so now and then I go back and catch a couple I've missed, and one of the episodes was the one where Lexi came back and told Jeremy Elena needed to figure out the Damon thing because he would either be the best thing or her or the worst. I'm not a Delena shipper, mostly because I couldn't understand what their relationship was built on beside sex, and I always assumed it would eventually just kinda peter out, but I agree, this time between Damon and Elena is necessary. In my mind they BOTH need to realize that they don't belong together. That Damon's interest in her is honestly all about his drama with his brother and Elena's is about her guilt over wanting to be and liking being a vampire. They need to go through this and hopefully end up on the other side (hopefully apart). I just wish the writers didnt think that in order for us to accept Delena they need to force a relationship between Stefan and Caroline. I hope that when Bonnie comes back Damon is able to be a friend to her, but for once not out of some ridiculous loyalty to Elena ( the only reason he's given two shits about her in the past) but because this is the first time (ok second if we count Alaric) he's had a REAL friend.
  21. That makes a whole lot more sense than him finding out about Hope. I cant imagine that Jackson wouldn't be able to keep her existence to himself.
  22. I'm not trying to be a huge Julie Plec defender or anything... I think she has her moments and I think she's also made (and continues to make) choices that I would consider... missteps. Some small (moving Esther from Cassie's body to Lenore's), some I'd consider major (Delena, Steroline, Beremy, the criminally underusing of Matt, Haley, Camille, Delena, the whole baby plot, turning Haley into a hybrid, having Elijah kill Celeste without so much as batting an eyelash, this backwoods werewolf marriage ritual nonsense... honestly the list is quite long). But I can't imagine how un-fun it must be to be her, when it comes to some of the fans of her shows. ALOT of them are extremely aggressive, over the top, and consistently take her comments, the actors comments, or even a yawn or slight eye roll from an actor caught on camera as the gospel fact that she has no idea what she is doing and that they can make decisions about these shows a hell of a lot better than she can. But who knows, maybe they're right...(shakes head). Also for every time you see her being asked about Kol or Klaroline or maybe even Bamon these days in an interview there are probably 100 more tweets, letters, people stopping her in the streets to ask the same thing. I think you can get why it would be a little annoying. Heaven forbid she read the comment threads of those interviews when they are posted online. @slayer2 I don't think the recasting of Kol, was a simple as let's piss off the fans. That they continue to use him in the flashbacks should be proof enough of that. And despite any comments she might have made about NB being right for the role, his death on TVD had purpose. I like the new Kol, in fact I like him better than the old Kol, because with Caleb I can see how someone might be charmed or lulled into the idea that he is anything but extremely dangerous. I never got that from Nate. And now after all that defending of JP, I'll have to go re-watch that last ep of TVD and remind myself why I'm supposed to hate her.
  23. It's funny I just caught up on the new season this past week, and as I watched Klaus with baby Hope, I realized how much I wish they had taken this in another direction. Trying to force Klaus' redemption through his own child is too simple and easy. "A horrible and conflicted tyrant finds peace, love and acceptance through the smile of his baby girl..." Gag. Imagine if instead the child had been Rebekah's? If Esther had body swapped Rebekah off screen pre-season and she had entered this show pregnant. I know some people make a big deal about the incestuous vibe between Klaus and Rebekah, and I do think the writers play into it a little, but last season it became apparent that his messed up relationship with her is less about him being into her and more about his fatal flaw. His fear that everyone who has, does and will love him, will eventually stop in favour of loving someone else more. Who better to symbolize that then a child for Rebekah, a child that he would both love and simultaneously want to kill... much like Marcel. I don't like the idea of Klaus needing unconditional love. This IMO is not one of his many issues. I would have preferred to see him "find peace" through learning how to be in healthy relationships with the members of his family. Learning how to be happy for his sister and not attempt to control the things that make her happy. Figuring out how to be proud of his son/brother Marcel without needing to best, one up and keep him beneath his boot. Letting go of past conflicts by allowing Elijah to be with a woman he was briefly involved with. Plus all the stuff with his two dads, Finn, Kol, his mom... Of course part of me just prefers angry bloodthirsty, long winded teary eyed pontificating Klaus, and I don't see how we can still have that with Daddy Klaus.
  24. I don't know if I completely agree with this. Yes Klaus is cranky and homicidal, and sociopathic and a ton of other terrible and unflattering adjectives, but that's not all he is. You don't live for over 1000 years and learn to love and appreciate art, music and Shakespeare, and then be so moved by an act of cruelty to save and mentor a child slave by not having any redeeming qualities. Yes he is often a POS, but the people who learned to care for him (Rebekah, Marcel even Caroline) wouldn't have done so if there wasn't something more to him beneath the surface. The problem (one of the problems) with Klaus, is that the raging, temper tantrum throwing, lunatic Klaus is almost always one wrong remark, glance or perceived slight away. I don't think Caroline's character would suffer from being with Klaus. I think he would cure her of some of her naivety and "perfection" and that she would allow him to understand that love is never and should never be unconditional (well that's my belief, YMMV). He'd have to work to keep her, which to me is much better life lesson for Klaus than the "unconditional" love of a child. However I'm not really looking for a relationship between the two of them right now on either show, because I don't think it would work or make sense. Maybe in 100 years or so... :) He was kinda that guy on TVD. I remember him telling Caroline that if Tyler was still sired to him, then he would never have let him hurt her. Which made me laugh since this is the same Klaus who told Tyler to bite her, and also stabbed and bit her himself. I agree no romantic entanglements for Klaus, random hookups I can deal with but they better keep Cami away from him or imma riot. Also totally down for more shirtless Elijah.
